A/N: I'm not dead yet. I did promise I'd do this eventually even though no one really wanted it. Much like this story's predecessor and my other fics, wolves are anthropomorphic creatures and the story's set in a dystopian Earth.
Kate: Damn, I'm impressed.
Lilly: I'm wet...
Garth: wUt?
Humphrey: Ay yo, what the fuck?
Lilly: I just came from a shower. Why do you boys always have to be so horny-headed?
Garth: Bitta context would be nice next time.
Blazin' Blitz: Battle Royale!!! But better this time!!!!!
Humphrey: Damn Blitz, why the hell are you so inactive?
Blazin' Blitz: Yes.
Everyone: ...
Blazin' Blitz: Yeah... I don't really understand myself either.
Lilly: You're in a phase? I can relate.
Blazin' Blitz: No but actually yes... wait, NO!
Kate: Is Blitz flustered???
Garth and Humphrey: Hmm, very interesting...
Blazin' Blitz: ANYWAY... the fic will be a mix of Hunger Games, Battle Royale (the movie) Warzone (because yes) PUBG (because yes too) and Vigor.
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing except maybe my OC's. Any mentions of real persons within the story are purely coincidental. Hopefully...
Year: 2054
Earth has fallen ill. Centuries of escalating pollution eventually took an immense toll on the planet's soil, climates and atmosphere. Almost half the population of lifeforms on the planet have perished due to hazardous chemical storms, toxic soils destroying harvests and rampant wildfires. The remaining half of life on the planet are doing what they can to survive this hell on earth while rumours say there are others who live the more comfortable lives, safe from the harsh clutches of this new world. Even after earth is set ablaze, the wealthy still place themselves higher than those truly stronger than them.
Humphrey's P.O.V
I can feel the fabric of the hoodie start to burn on my head in the rain. The house was right in front of me so I couldn't stop now. I get a really bad burning sensation on the hand carrying the supplies, causing me to nearly drop them. My hand is hurting like hell right now but I still reach the porch of the red painted house without dropping the packages atleast.
I pull back the hoodie then knock on the door three times. The rain pours harder as I wait for the door to be fully unlocked. I sigh in relief once the door is opened and raise the box of supplies to the male wolf who opened the door. The wolf then welcomes me into the house to set down the box of supplies.
"You didn't have to come all this way for us, kid." He says after seeing my hoodie and my burnt hand. A female wolf then rushes from the next room to meet me with her first aid kit. Right, I forgot this house is occupied by a middle-aged couple who used to be doctors.
"I'm fine. I really should get going now-" I try to politely decline the offer to help. I still had tons of medical supplies back home so I could patch myself up once I beat the rain. "Bullshitting can only get you so far. You're welcome to rest here atleast until the storm passes."
I let out a grunt while the lady wraps bandages around my right hand. "The rain water's getting worse by the month. Are you sure this was just one drop?" She asks me. I nod my head in response. "Goodness, if that same hand were touched by a second drop, it surely would've burned into the flesh."
"You weren't gonna last two more minutes out there, son. There's a room upstairs where we house the injured, rest there for now." The male wolf says then tosses me some blankets. I thank the couple then start finding my way around the house. This house wasn't that small but I still somehow struggled finding the stairs.
"I'm starting to piss myself off..." I mutter as I finally find the stair case which I'm sure I've passed several times. The stairs creak as I walk on every step, clearly giving me the impression that this house has been around for quite some time. I reach the second floor and spot the first room with an open door. I assumed that this was the open room that 'patients' or wolves passing by like myself rest up. I walk in and see three other wolves sleeping soundly. Two females and a male.
I decide not to sleep on a bed since I won't be staying long. I could tell the rain was settling so I just carried my blankets to a corner and sat there. I see the one girl slowly wagging her tail in her sleep and think: 'Hey... she's kinda cute...' then does off.
I feel really chilly all of sudden. No the floor's actually cold. I roll around then realize I'm not on in the warm corner of a bedroom. My eyes shoot open and see rows blinding lights above on a iron ceiling. "Where... the hell... am I?" I ask sluggishly. I get up but as I look to the side, I see over 60 wolves laying on the concrete floor. I snap my head to the other side and see more wolves. 'What the fuck is going on? Why am I in an empty warehouse and how did I get moved here without getting woken up?' I had so many more questions and not a damn answer to one of them. I try moving my hands and only now realize that I'm cuffed. "Well fu-"
Other wolves inside the building start to stir awake, all with the same reaction as me. "What the fuck is going on here?!"; "What is this place?"; "Who the hell are you guys?!"; "Why am I in cuffs?"; "I think I left the stove on..." (Okay, maybe not that one); "This has to be some messed up dream, right?"
Now this place finally started to get noisy. Atleast I knew that this wasn't some dream but I still didn't know how I got here or how anyone else for that matter. I roll myself onto my feet then get shocked instantly from my wrists up once I tried standing up straight, causing me to fall onto my back. "Why are these handcuffs electric?!" I shout out loud before realizing what year it is.
Everyone suprisingly settles down after 15 minutes of panic. I roll back onto my backside and sit cross-legged. "Welcome contestants." A deep voice starts through P.A speakers. Being called by the word 'contestant' already didn't sit right with me. "You all seem confused here. Lost, afraid, terrified... you shouldn't be." Spotlights on the sides of the building aim at a black wolf standing high above us on a steel walkway. "You shouldn't be fearful because today, you will all be a part of something great. Fortune, luxury, power and fame lies in the future of every one of you wolves today. You will either seize it or throw it all away."
What is this guy talking about? Fortune? Fame? Those barely even exist in this world anymore. Everyone is out there, fighting for survival and this dude's telling us about luxury. The wolf walks back and forth, surveying all the wolves below him. "This world has no place for the weak..." He says. We all start to feel really uneasy in this wolf's presence now.
"In this world... the strong feast on the flesh of the weak." The stranger pulls out a remote and presses a button. Large doors on both ends of the building slowly slide open. "What is out there holds your future. Your end or your new great beginning. It's up to you how you want the rest of your lives to unfold." The wolf concludes before walking away.
The large hanger doors where now halfway open and I could own make out what was outside. A ridiculously large airplane that looked like it was meant to carry large cargo. I really wished I was back in Jasper delivering supplies for other wolves right now.
A/N: Looking back at this... I don't really see this story being much different from the first BR fic I tried writing. I hope anyone reading this enjoyed it atleast.
Garth and Blitz's Post Chapter Discussion:
Death Stranding BR Fic?
(Also random anime stuff)
No one:
Literally no one:
Garth: Was that a Death Stranding reference in the beginning?
Lilly: That 2019 open world single-player game?
Blazin' Blitz: Why does the first bit of my new stories remind you of a PS game? This is really worrying...
Humphrey: First Spooder-Man 2018 now that sci-fi game where rain ruins sexy bodies.
Garth: Stahp it... get some help mate.
Humphrey: Am I wrong? You played the game too, you should know what I'm talking about.
Garth: Ah yes, Fragile-
Blazin' Blitz: I haven't played that game yet...
Humphrey: So that part where I delivered stuff in acidic rain was pulled straight out of your head?
Blazin' Blitz: Mm-hm.
Kate: Okay then...
Lilly: I'm not gonna lie, this start didn't look too different from the original, Blitz. This one just seems more... serious I guess.
Blazin' Blitz: I know. I'll change it up a bit in the next chapter... I promise.
Humphrey: Promising? Interesting...
Garth: Interesting indeed...
Blazin' Blitz: Shut up! It isn't like that, dumbasses.
Lilly: Changing the topic, anyone else feel like that mysterious wolf was like Esdeath?
Kate: Who the hell is Esdeath?
Humphrey: You're one of them...
Garth: Ever watched Akame Ga Kill?
Kate: (Visible Confusion)
Lilly: Figures. So Esdeath is basically a toxic bitch who rambles on about weak people being dominated by the strong and all that BS. I think Blitz even quoted one of her lines.
Humphrey: The way you disrespected the best girl is unforgivable.
Garth: wOt? Sheele's best girl and you know it.
Blazin' Blitz: Funny how people argue about an anime from 7 years ago.
Lilly: (Laughs in Evangelion)
Blazin' Blitz: Wait hol' up, Neon Genesis Evangelion is a different story...
Lilly: Argue is argue.
To Be Continued (maybe)
