Chapter 1
Buttercup's POV:
RING! RING! RING!
I hit the snooze button and I got right out of bed.
My name is Buttercup Utonium and I'm 25 years old; I have shoulder-length black hair, and jade green eyes. I also work as a full-time waitress at a cafe called, The Lush Garden. It's not the best job in the world, but it gets the bills paid at least, and to-
"Mommy."
I turned around and saw my 5-year-old son, Lucas. He has my green eyes, but he has his father's jet-black hair. I was pregnant with my son at 19. He never met his father, and it's going to stay that way.
"Hey, hun." I got up and picked him up and went to the kitchen area, and I put him in his small chair and started cooking breakfast. I live in a small apartment in Townsville, even though half of the people isn't the brightest of the bunch, it's still a comfortable living to raise a child.
"Lucas, would you like to visit your grandpa today?" I asked putting scrambled eggs and sausage in his bowl.
"Yes, Yes!" Lucas answered with glee in his eyes.
Lucas loves his grandpa to death, he is always there to take care of Lucas, when I have to work late. You see my dad is a scientist, Professor John Utonium, he is one of the most liked scientist you will ever meet.
"Great," I smiled.
We got finished with breakfast and we got dressed. I put him in the care set, and I drove to my dad's house. After a few minutes of traffic, we pulled in my dad's parking lot, and I grabbed Lucas and knocked on the door.
"Hey, dear! And, hello Lucas. Please come in," My dad said inviting us in.
"How is everything going?"
"Everything is going great so far. I might be getting a raise soon, considering a lot of people have been asking for me as their server," I explained smiling.
"That's great news. I would never have guess you would be so hard-working, since as a child you were stubborn and full of adventure moment," My dad said laughing.
"But I am proud of you, some girls your age wouldn't have been able to do this all by themselves."
"Not all the way true, I mean you did help me along the way, after what happened..."
John's POV:
"Hey Lucas, why don't you go in the playroom, while I talk to your mom alone?" I asked my grandson. Lucas nodded and walked to the playroom, and I gently close his door and sat back down.
"You know, you sisters called me wondering if you're okay," I told Buttercup. And, I can tell her whole mood change.
"You didn't tell them about Lucas, did you?" She asked with worry on her face.
"No, I didn't, even though it was hard not to. You can't keep avoiding your sisters forever...Blossom and Bubbles they miss you. Even, Brick and Boomer," I explained.
"They never cared before, so why no all of a sudden?" Buttercup got up and grabbed her bag.
"I have to get to work now, I'll be back around 4." She gave me Lucas's bag, and hugged him goodbye, and left.
'She's been through so much; I pray something good will come to her and Lucas.'
Author's POV:
*The Lush Garden Cafe*
"Hi, Buttercup!" Stacy, Buttercup's co-worker, greeted. She and Buttercup became friends, instantly, even though she is more girlier than Buttercup in many ways. But, they hit it off pretty quickly.
"Hey Stacey, sorry for running a bit late had to take Lucas to his grandpa," Buttercup said checking in.
"No, it's all good. I love the little guy, he is so adorable," Stacy said smiling.
"You've raised an amazing son. I wish all kids were like that not spoiled rotten and crying for no reason."
"Thanks, I tried my best."
Suddenly, a tall guy with brown hair and green eyes comes in and went towards the register. He looked like he can be in his 20's.
"Hi, I would like to get a cup of coffee, please?" He asked them, but he mainly kept glancing at Buttercup. And, Stacey looked like she wanted to faint, because he is a very attractive guy.
"Well, I better go take care of that thing in the back, while you take care of this handsome man," Stacey said, winking at Buttercup, and went to the back.
Mysterious Guy's POV:
"Sorry, about that she's always like this when she sees men," She blushed a bit, due to embarrassment, and went to fix me a cup of coffee.
"It's fine, I'm used to it." I laughed nervously.
"Here you go," She gave me my cup, and I took a seat at the bar.
"So, how long have you worked here? If you don't mind me asking," I asked her.
"For about two years now, I like it. It's really comfortable place to work in," She was always the independent type, which was something I loved about her, and her spunk. "This is my first here, actually," I told her.
"You're going to like it here. It may seem dull, but it usually gets busy around lunch and dinner time," Buttercup explained. I missed hearing her voice. I wish I didn't drove her away...I don't blame her for what happened.
"Well then, I guess I will be your regular customer then," I smirked at her, trying to charm her a bit.
"Good to hear," She said smiling, totally oblivious about me flirting with her.
Still the same girl that I fell in love with.
"I'm here full-time." She turned around and started cleaning the coffee pot, and I must admit though, she has gotten more curvy and thicker on the hips. And, grew her chest area...she has gotten hotter over the past four years.
"Do you have a special someone?" That was a stupid question to ask, for all I know she still sees me as just a stranger for the time being.
'What was I thinking?!'
"I do." Damn, that wounded me.
"My son, Lucas."
'SHE HAS A SON?!' I was so in shocked I didn't hear her trying to get my attention.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes...um I have to get going." I quickly got up and gave her $20. "Just keep the change." I dashed outside and went inside my car and took off my wing letting my jet-black, spiky hair out.
"She has a fucking son?!" I yelled and hit my dashboard in frustration, and I dialed Brick's number.
"Call everyone! We are going to have a family meeting!" I hanged up the phone and drove off to my home.
'Buttercup is hiding something! And, I will find out!'
