A/N: This is my very first fan-fiction, unsure of where this story is going but it's a plot bunny I've had floating around in my head for a little bit. I'm not a great writer so I apologize before hand for any spelling errors or grammatical errors. I've done my best to go through and fix any mistakes that I could find. This story will be told mainly from Mulan and Shang's point of view, but there may be a few chapters from other's point of views. I hope you all enjoy, reviews are welcome and greatly appreciated. Star Wars and Marvel will be mentioned throughout, mostly as opposing sport's teams. Anyway's enjoy the story!

Chapter 1: New School
Just take deep breaths. What could possibly go wrong, today of all days? It is only your first day after all...
Those were the thoughts running through Freshman, Fa Mulan's head as she stood outside the large castle-like building, for lack of better way's to describe the school. It was large and imposing, towers of pure white brick shooting towards the sky, large courtyards folding out with gravel paths snaking through them and the towers were topped with sparkling blue tiled roofs. Mulan fidgeted with her sword which was more of a comfort than anything. Her dad had given it to her before she left and she felt better having a small piece of him there with her. She took a deep breath to calm her jittery nerves and headed for the office, following the signs posted on the walls.
"Principal Merlin?"
Mulan called out hesitantly as she knocked on his office door. The room was fairly dark but she could see a blue flame casting large shadows on the wall and door of the office. She pushed the door open and stepped inside the office, looking around and taking in her surroundings. There was a large oak desk positioned near the back wall with a plush chair behind it, with an older man snoozing behind it, a pointy blue wizard hat slipping down his face. She noted the two plush stools on the side closest to the door and the fireplace on the far right wall, a couple more chairs there with a small coffee table where a teapot and a couple of cups were set up. Mulan cleared her throat and the older man started awake, reaching up to straighten his hat as he looked at Mulan with wide blue eyes framed by thin wire framed glasses.
"Ah yes! I was merely resting my eyes for a moment!"
He said as he took in Mulan
"My dear girl take a seat. You must be Fa Mulan am I correct?"
Mulan sat down on one of the plush stools and brushed her hair behind her ear nervously
"Yes."
She confirmed and Merlin smiled as he pulled her schedule out of a drawer in his desk, giving it a once over before he passed it to her. She took it gratefully and looked it over as well as Merlin got out her student ID and her dorm room information, quickly passing those over as well. She took them and slipped the schedule and the student ID into her school bag, keeping the dorm room information out on her lap.
"I know you're new here so I have asked your dorm mate to come down and show you around and introduce you to some of your teachers."
Merlin explained as he waited patiently for her roommate
"So, we encourage all our students to participate in at least one extra credit opportunity. Here is a list of clubs, maybe look it over and choose something that looks interesting to you."
Merlin said as he slid her the list, which she took a bit hesitantly as a knock on the door came and a girl poked her head in. She was very pretty with violet eyes and curly blonde hair, held back by a pale pink headband. She stepped farther into the room, wearing a light blue plated skirt and a long sleeve white shirt under a pale pink sweater vest and white tennis shoes.
"Hi!"
She greeted brightly and waved at Mulan, who gave her a small wave in return as she stood up and grabbed her bags
"My name is Aurora Bloom, but my friends call me Rose."
The blonde introduced and held out her hand for Mulan to shake and Mulan hesitantly took it
"Fa Mulan."
She introduced herself as she shook Aurora's hand before she quickly pulled her hand back to her side, not used to shaking hands as a way of greeting. She had been raised somewhat traditionally by her parents, who had moved here from China when they were young. She always bowed in a way of greeting, unless faced with someone more formal. She would have to fill Aurora in on that later. She shook her head as she realized that Aurora was talking to her about the school and beckoning her out of the office, towards the west wing of the castle where the girl dormitories were located.
"So, what grade are you in?"
Aurora asked Mulan before she almost immediately jumped into her next sentence, barely giving Mulan any time to answer
"I'm a Sophomore this year along with a couple of my friends who you're bound to meet, if they aren't already waiting for you at the dorm."
"I'm a Freshman."
Mulan quickly supplied before she lapsed back into silence, making sure to take mental notes on her way to the dormitories so she wouldn't get lost later on. Aurora reached a heavy oak door which she pushed open to reveal a spiraling staircase that wound up and up, out of sight. Aurora started up the staircase still chattering like a bluebird in the early morning
"I'm sure Principle Merlin already told you about the clubs. Well, probably just in passing, but me and my friends are in a club for princesses of sorts or people of very high nobility standings. Do you have any royalty or nobles in your family?"
Aurora glanced back at Mulan
"No. My Baba served in China's last war so he is a very notable war hero but we don't have any notability in our family. If we did, we would be part of the Emperor's family and I know for a fact we are not related to the Emperor."
Mulan cringed at how repetitive she sounded as she babbled on and on about that. She normally liked to keep things short and sweet and skip right to the point, a simple no for example. But she supposed that the nerves were messing with her head and her normal attitude.
"That's interesting. That you still have an Emperor I mean. Most of us are born into royalty, such as myself and my friend Snow."
Aurora explained as she reached a dark oak door with a golden crown engraved on the door.
"There are four other towers with dorms and each one has two different dorm room areas. This one is ours."
Aurora indicated to a door father up with wand emblazoned on the door, in a pretty sparkling silver unlike the golden crown
"That's the Magelica dorm room. This one is Regalia Dorm. They all have really cheesy names but you get used to it. We're allowed to go to other girl's dorms and have sleepovers but we are not allowed to have guy's up here and vice versa. No girls allowed in guy's dorms except for once a year when we host a movie night on the last night of staying here. This year it's the girl's turn to host it."
Mulan nodded as Aurora opened the door and walked in, holding it open for Mulan, who slipped through quickly. She paused just on the other side of the door and looked around. There was a small kitchenette (Probably for making snacks or something) and a stand alone fireplace with the middle hollowed out and a fire blazed warmly in it. A TV was mounted just above the fireplace and showed an image of snowy mountains on it. Beanbags, plush chairs, and tables were scattered all around the room, some occupied by girls, the rest empty. There were four doors on each side of the room, probably the dorms and a balcony that overlooked the garden below. Mulan was a bit startled when she saw a large tiger exit from one of the rooms followed by a girl who was dressed in a jean jacket and jean shorts. The girl smiled and waved at Aurora.
"Welcome to the dorm room!"
Aurora said brightly as she smiled at Mulan, waving her arm in a theatrical motion. Mulan just stared.
