Preface

Hitting the ground in the middle of the woods, was a shock. Knowing the second prior to this that we were standing inside a garage, that was what made it scary. I looked over to Jasper and Alice, realizing they had a similar look on their faces.

"Are you okay bro?" I asked with a concerned tone. He nodded with a shaken demeanor, with his focus shifting to Alice, patting her down to make sure she was okay.

Once Jasper knew she was alright, his focus returned to me. "What the hell just happened?" he asked, almost panic behind his voice. I shrugged.

"Well, it looks like whatever Grandpa had designed, it actually worked. Now the question is, where did it take us?"

We slowly stood up, turning 360 degrees to survey the area. There wasn't a person in sight or anything that resembled home, for that matter. That's when we heard the light screams in the distance. Moving towards it, trying to understand what we had just accomplished, the screams became more defined and a light appeared.

"Where are we?" Alice asked, hearing the trembling in her voice. There was a combination of scared and confusion in all three of them. Unsure of what happened, they walked through the wooded area, carrying the device that their grandfather had made. "Where is your grandfather's garage?"

That's when we saw it. Off in the distance, a woman tied to a wooden pole, the brush at her feet ablaze. Stopping dead in our tracks, we watched as she was burned alive, speechless. That's when it hit us. I glanced down to the machine, and then back to Jasper and Alice.
