Note: this will not be 100% cannon as some aspects of the plot are not fully explained and I feel that what I write will work (partially) if you have anything that you feel should be added or any info you are confused about let me know and thank you for reading and supporting me : )
I named Hiro Deka éxi because it means 16 in greek but I figured it would be hard to pronounce the name so I gave it a japanese twist and made it Dekaiski as it's almost the same pronunciation. Zero Two's reincarnated name is Zenta for reasons that will be explained later. Both names are like an easter egg.
Now onto the story!
Chapter One
The Day I Met Her
When I was nine I met a girl named Zenta. I was at park reading when she tripped and fell in front of me.
"Are you ok?" I asked her as I stuck my hand to help her up.
"Who are you?" she asked as she accepted my help
"Me? My name is Dekaiski."
Just then, her mom showed up. "Zenta! What did I tell you about running? Are you ok?" Then she noticed me and asked "Zenta, who is this?"
"This is Dekaiski. He helped me up when I fell"
"Oh," her mom said, "Thank you, would you care to join us for dinner?"
"Oh ya! You should join us. Mom makes the best curry in the world!" Zenta said.
"Wow, really? Thank you, my parents won't be home tonight, so a fresh meal does sound good."
When we got to their house, Zenta's mother, whose name was Mitsuri, went to the kitchen to make dinner while me and Zenta went to her room. Zenta decided that since I was eating at her house that we were going to be friends. I didn't have any issues with that and was going to ask her to be my friend before she said that anyways. I decided that all best friends had nicknames for each other.
I told Zenta, "Since the two syllables of your first name are Z and T, I will call you ZT for short. So, what's mine gonna be ZT?
She sat there thinking then said, "I've got it. I will call you my Darling."
When she said that something hit me. Like I've been called that before, but when? I asked "Why that?"
"My mom got me a book about our savoirs from the old days. In one of the stories a girl and a boy run into each other, kinda like how we did. She called him her Darling and they became best friends and saved the world. So, since we are now friends I will call you my Darling, and one day we will save the world!"
"I don't know about saving the world, but I hereby declare that we will be best friends till the end!"
We played with her Franxx figures pretending we were saving the world from the bad guys. Her mom called us to the dining area to eat and the food was delicious. After we cleaned up, Ms. Mitsuri invited me to join them at the amusement park tomorrow and I gratefully accepted.
Fast forward four years
One day, me and ZT are sitting on her bed. She had her head in my lap as we sat there watching TV. we had just finished our homework and had a couple hours before the Franxx Festival. Suddenly, ZT asked me a question. "Darling, what do you think of me?"
My face turned red and I stammered, "wh-what do you mean, ZT?"
"Have you ever thought of me as something more? Or romantically"
"No," I said. My face was red and she could tell.
"Darling, be honest please. It's no good to lie to your best friend."
Sheepishly I answered, "Yes, I have. A lot more recently, actually."
"Then it's settled darling," she said, " I think it's time we go on a date and I, darling, would like to go to the FRANXX Festival for our first date. What do you say, Darling?"
I was so baffled that all I could say was yes. I couldn't believe it, ZT feels the same about me as I do her. I couldn't wait until the festival.
Commander Aitowa
"Commander, we have an issue. The Virm readings are getting stronger, and quickly. We've never seen them so high"
"So they really are coming. After a thousand years they chose to strike now. So how long until they're here?"
"Around 5 years, sir. Want me to call Zero One sir?"
"Yes and tell her to find Zero Two and One Six. They need to get their memories back and soon because we'll need their help finding the others."
