It was around dusk when Konan was walking down the road near a village in the land of fire when a small blonde-haired kid running bumped into her. When she saw him he said, "Sorry, I didn't see you there, I am Naruto by the way." Konan then told the boy "it is quite alright, where are your parents?" Naruto then had a frown develop on his face, he said, "I don't have any, I am an orphan." Konan then told him "that's very sad, well is there an orphanage I could take you to." Naruto then shook his head, Konan then told him "well come with me then." Naruto then smiled and followed her. Konan took Naruto to the site she brought him to a tent with a campfire, She shared with Naruto some of the food she had prepared and he fell asleep. Shortly after this, the member she was partnered with showed up Itachi. Itachi asked her "who is this child, why have you taken him." Konan said, "he appears to be an orphan, I guess I felt bad for him, do you have a problem with this." Itachi then told her "Did they child tell you his name." Konan then answered "he said his name was Naruto Uzumaki." Itachi then said, "this child is the Jinchuriki of the nine tails, I remember hearing about him when I was still a part of Konoha, now knowing this what would you like to do with him." Konan then said, "I will decide what to do to him in the morning." After she said this she went to sleep as Itachi took the first watch.

The next morning

Naruto woke up and saw Konan and Itachi, Naruto got scared. He had heard what Itachi had done to his own clan, Naruto yelled "Y-your Itachi, Sasuke's brother a-are you going to kill me." Itachi then chuckled and said "no I am not, I doubt you would even be a challenge we were actually deciding what to do with you-." but before they could continue eight people wearing Anbu masks landed near them, one of them said, "that child is the Jinchuuriki of Konoha and he shall be going to Lord Danzo." When that man said that name, anger brewed in Konan, 'Danzo, the man who killed Yahiko and helped Hanzo maintain control for so many years, Danzo.' Konan then told Anbu "you may not have this child he belongs to no one." The Anbu then readied their weapons, however, before they could move they felt as hundreds of pieces of paper cover them and then exploded killing them. Itachi then asked Konan "now what shall we be doing with this child." Konan smiled and then responded, "we shall be taking him to the Rain Village, I will train him with Nagato after all Nagato could be considered his last family." Konan then created a pair of wings and took Naruto into the air and carried him. Naruto then yelled, "HEY WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME." Konan then told him "Home."

Later

Amegakure

Naruto was shown to Nagato, Naruto was intimidated by Nagato who was in a black cloak. Nagato then said, "So Naruto Uzumaki, why have you come to our village." Naruto, who was quite then said "y-yeah, excuse me, Mister Nagato, I have come here because in my home of Konoha I was teased, hurt, and called a demon. I have come here because I want to be somewhere that no one will hurt or be mean to me." Nagato then told Naruto "you may stay in our village, now I will send someone to take you to a place to stay." Naruto then left the room and was led by Rain Chunin. Konan then went up to Nagato and was asked by him "So Konan why did you take him, why did you take him knowing he was a Jinchuriki." Konan then answered, "I guess it may have been the pity I felt for him, or it may be because he reminds me of Yahiko." Nagato then said, "yes, he does have some similarities to Yahiko, and you said he is an Uzumaki so I would be considered his last family member then." Konan then nodded and said "however when I found him Danzo had sent Anbu to take him so we should be careful to keep him in the village." they both had agreed upon this and prepared for what would come.

Two weeks later Konohagakure, Hokage Office

Jiraiya entered Hiruzen's office, this visit was sad for the both of them because it occurred due to Naruto running away from the village, however, this meeting gave the old Third Hokage hope because this meeting was occurring due to Jiraiya having new information on the search. Jiraiya spoke first "I have found some new information, apparently he was taken by a woman with blue hair and used paper Jutsu and she bore the symbol of Amegakure, I believe he has been taken by one of my original students that I believed were dead." Hiruzen then took a long smoke from his pipe and said "at least this confirms that he was not taken by Danzo." Jiraiya then nodded and said, "I believe he has been taken to the Rain Village, however, let's not overlook that we have failed him, dammit I should have been here for him." Hiruzen then said, "First the Uchiha massacre and next to this, we must not let us fall apart, now I have a request for you, I want you to bring Tsunade back to the village I know it may be hard but please do it if there is any time we could use her it is now." Jiraiya then nodded and left the room. Jiraiya's thoughts began to go to his former students 'well I think he should be in good care until I can reach him, Konan was the kindest of them, now the Hardest task I can think of right now is convincing Tsunade to return to the village.' Jiraiya then left the village for his hardest journey he would have for the entirety of his career as a shinobi.

Akatsuki meeting

This meeting was a big one, it had been the first one since Itachi had joined, many of them had to come in person. Orochimaru had come and with him was a small shield with two dots on his forehead, very pale skin, and white hair. Deidara had come, this new member of the Akatsuki had been impulsive, however he had proven his worth in the missions he had taken, due to this impulsiveness he had been. There was also Kisame Hoshigake with his blade Samehada, he came with his Partner Itachi, this young member was the opposite of his partner he was calm and collected and was less sadistic. Kakazu and Hidan could not come as they were hunting for the five tailed beasts. The meeting began with Orochimaru saying "so is it true, have you taken in the nine tails Jinchuriki." Pain then said, "yes Orochimaru the Rain village has, however at this time his seal is too strong for it to be removed at this time, so we are having an asset to Amegakure." Kisame then spoke up "are you sure you won't be making him too strong for when the time comes." Konan then said, "no that will not happen." Orochimaru then thought 'this will be intriguing, perhaps I should put a spy in.' Orochimaru then said, "I have an offer from you, I would like to have the child I brought with me Kimimaro, he could train with the Jinchuriki." Konan then thought about it and said "that would be acceptable." After most of them had left, Naruto came down and Orochimaru scared him. With a twisted smile, he said, "ah Naruto, will be leaving Kimimaro here, he will be training with you from now on." Kimimaro then went up to Naruto and then moved forward and put his hand out and said "Nice to meet you Kimimaro I hope we can be good friends." Kimimaro then said, "yes, I hope so." Orochimaru then left Kimimaro there, he hoped that he could turn Kimimaro into a mole in the Rain village, he would be the first to be able to have a spy in the Rain village. This would be the beginning of Naruto's training in the rain village for many years.
