A New Small Ship, Sadaman, doesn't house as much hungry pirates as previous ships could. Marian Van Byl, Ken Guo, Mat Huo, Namour, Malachy, Sidar and Aghur have currently been on a rival ship named the Green Java for a month. Marian, having read the newspaper and having been trained to pull off canons much bigger than she ever was, has been scarred for a decade or more. Green Java, run by the infamous rival of Sandaukan, Suyodhana, and his dragon Muda Hassim, has been in good secondhand condition since it was rebuilt from the ground up.
New members of Sadaman include Lumbo, Sulema, Sagapar, Cho Fang, Pirangu and Banjarese Hada Abdillah. They have all been prejudiced by society for much of their combined existence. Kulong, Rajani and Kalam are janitors of the ship.
