Stefan lay on his bed as though he were a statue. The only movement in the bedroom came from the gentle breeze blowing the dark curtains that lined his windows. Thoughts of his relationship with Elena raced through his head like a sad rom-com. He'd pause and rewind but couldn't quite figure out where it all went wrong. His brows were frowned as they usually were and his mouth a straight line.

"Why so doom and gloom?" a voice pierced through the silence. Katherine appeared in the doorway, and though she had asked, the tone in her voice proved she didn't really care.

Without looking up Stefan replied, "Get out, Katherine. I'm not in the mood for your mind games today. It's been rough." He closed his eyes and waited for her to go away. He lay there for a few moments before realizing her presence at the foot of his bed. He let out a groan and lifted his body from the sunken mattress enough so that Katherine could see the look of disdain on his face.

"What did I do to deserve that look?" Katherine frowned placing a hand where her heart would be. Stefan said nothing but gave her a look that said "Do I really need to remind you?" "Right," mumbled Katherine as she all of a sudden became slightly uncomfortable. Stefan plopped his body back down in the bed and lifted his pale hands to cover his face. "Okay, what is up with you?" she questioned.

"Don't pretend to care about my feelings now, Katherine. And you know what is up with me otherwise you wouldn't be here." Stefan's hands remained in his face as he let out yet another sigh.

"Oh, Stefan. Don't act like I don't care about you." She placed a hand on his ankle causing his body to tense up even more. "I didn't want to assume the reason your brooding is because of Elena, but I think it's fair to say it is so. What's the big deal?" Katherine shrugged. Stefan laid there with no response. "Well, I'm not talking to myself here, Stefan."

"You wouldn't understand it, Katherine," Stefan groaned. "Elena... she is special. She's warm and perfect and beautiful and-,"

"A stupid bitch who let you go," Katherine stated bluntly. Stefan let out a slight chuckle and raised his body from the bed. "Well, am I wrong?" questioned Katherine.

"I don't know." Stefan shook his head and looked down at the sheets as he leaned back on his arms. "I'm just confused about everything."

"Look," Katherine sighed, "I understand the pain your going through. I-"

"How could you understand, Katherine?" Stefan glared. "You've never been in love before." Katherine inhaled sharply as her eyes leaped from Stefan's face to her lap. She slowly exhaled and clenched her teeth.

"Can we go somewhere?" Katherine asked as she lifted her eyes back to Stefan's. His eyes were cold.

"I'm not going anywhere with you-"

"Please?" She pleaded as if she was willing to do anything for him to go with her. Stefan's eyes softened as he saw the look of desperation in her eyes.

"Why?"

"Because, I know Damon is downstairs probably listening to our conversation and I want what I am about to tell you to be private." Katherine smiled as she saw Stefan's shoulders lose tension. He cocked his head to the side and looked deep into Katherines eyes. "Follow me," Katherine smiled as she lightly grabbed Stefan's hand. In the blink of an eye, they had swiftly disappeared through Stefan's window.
