Author note: jk Rowling owns harry potter and no one owns history just the history books that we learn it from. The idea of the disease to take away harry magic is from "her marine" by reviewgirl911. This story takes place from 1933 to where the main story takes place in the 1940s (may go into the 50s haven't been decided yet). PS i'm bad at spelling.
The Potter family looked just like an ordinary wizarding family. James and Lily Potter had four children Sirius, Mary, Harry, and Remus with another girl on the way (Alice). Sirius had just started Hogwarts and Alice was soon to be born. But not all was as perfect as all seemed from the outside but soon after harry's first birthday it was found out that harry had a rare disease called absque ulla magia that turned wizards/witches into squibs. There was no cure so the potters had to live with it. life for the potter really took a down turn a little less than a year later there was a prophecy about soon to be born Remus. the prophecy said " The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…". After hearing the prophecy the potters decided to go into hiding once Remus was born they decided on the potter family cottage in Godric's hollow. Once they were all at Godric"s hollow they used to use a fidelius charm to hide the house but that is where they made a mistake they decided as a ruse to use peter pettigrew as the secret keeper to trick voldemort. Sadly for the Potters Peter or Wormtail as they call him was secretly working for voldemort.
One night when most of the family was at st. mungoes for the birth of alice (it was deemed not safe for remus so he stayed at godric's hollow with alice longbottom) wad when voldemort struck (it turns out peter had a little loyalty to james he wanted for a day when james and lily were out of the house) alice sacrificed herself for remus so when voldemort cased the killing curse at remus it rebounded at "killed" voldemort. When voldemort was "killed" it created a shock wave that set off the wards in the back of the house (front ones were taken down by voldemort) alerting dumbledore who was at st. mungoes to voldemort's attack. Dumbledore and the marauders minus Peter rushed back to Godric's hollow 20 minutes later and brought the sad news of Alice's death and declared Remus the boy who lived.
