……..

Tower Of Joy 283AC

Arbjorn Fyreheart POV

As he opened his eyes the world seemed to be a blur. He was moving or rather being moved. Slowly his vision got focused.

What the hell.

Someone was carrying him. A man. He was huge perhaps even more so than any gaunt he had ever fought.

He tried to speak "ahh ahheenn ahneee"

But all that came out was gibberish.

He tried to shout "Ahn ah Ann" but nothing happened.

He tried to move his hands. But they felt to week. Too weak to do anything and they were small, very small. All his toned muscles were gone.

The proportions of his body were way out of order.

Wait….

God's he was a baby wasn't he.

He felt the man lift him and move. He had black brown hair, grey eyes. Tears ran down his eyes along with a certain rage. He was lost.

Was he his father??

He handed him to a women.

And that's when his eyes fell upon the bloodied bed. Where lay a young women.

Dying...no dead.

That must be his mother.

A sound of a door opening drew his attention. A man walked in clearly injured. Dressed in green bronze, carrying a three pronged spear and a leather shield.

The man approached , his eyes fixated first on the bed then to him. He scrutinized him before turning to the grey-eyed man.

"Ned … Is he … hers, theirs ….", He asked

So the grey-eyed man was named Ned.

"Aye … trueborn" the man in bronze green raised his head as the one speaking walked over to a table taking a goblet before throwing it with all the force he could muster "All this war Howland, all this death, suffering, father, Brandon … gods Princess Elia and her children all this because my sister ran away with the dragon prince"he spat not out of anger or hatred but pain.

The man named Howland approached him, "We should have known, Ned … Lyanna was always wild".

"Aye and I should have known… gods, the number of times she told me she didn't want to marry Robert … but I still insisted, telling her how good of a friend he was. If I had only listened … ahhh"he exclaimed tears rolling out of his eyes.

The other man approached him, extending his reach as he put out a hand on his cheeks. A finger touching it.

Arbjorn gurgled happily.

"He has his eyes and her hair …. what's his name??"

"Jaekar …. Jaekar Targaryen ….."

"So what now??"

After a while the man who he now knew was his uncle replied,"We … we , he …. he is my bastard … Jaekar Targaryen doesn't exist … he is a bastard I fathered on some whore …."

"You would take his name away… raise him a prince, no not a prince a king….as a bastard … you know what type of life he would have to lead …. your lady wife is southern to her core she will never accept him …" he replied clearly enraged.

"Yes I will because otherwise there are but two choices…. Hand over my nephew to be killed or go to war for his claim … and I can't choose to let him die so I would have to fight …. I am tired of fighting….I won't condemn the realm to another cycle of war … Robert is king now, and he would be a good one… I know it … yes …. "

"And what would he be called, Jaekar Sand ??"

"Snow …. Jon Snow "

Winterfell- 286AC

Winterfell sometimes reminded him of Windhelm, both were huge ancient castles built in the heart of the North of their respective lands….both built by ancient Northern heros. Except there wasn't so much of a city outside Winterfell. In the three years in his new life he had not seen a single city.

He knew of White Harbor … the only city in his uncle and adoptive father's kingdom. But had never seen it. He skipped up into the broken tower. It was his favorite spot after the crypts of course. Why?? you ask well for a person who spent years fighting off ghosts and draugrs in crypts in search of some ancient treasure. Having finally found a crypt where nothing comes to life can be quite refreshing and peaceful. A place where he could practice his skills with anyone questioning him about them.

As soon as he could read he would spend hours in the library, reading every book available, at least those he had access to.

One of the main reasons for this was to learn of this world and discover his heritage. He was Jon Snow the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark, he was the only stain on his impeccable honor, he was brother to Robb Stark, he was a creature of hatred and jealousy according to the septs and spetons born of lust and sin, he was an insult to lady Catelyn Tully Stark and her greatest shame for her it showed how she couldn't keep her husband in her bed, he belonged to a house that had ruled the North of an entire continent for thousands of years first as kings of winter and now as lord paramounts and wardens of the north.

But that was not all that he was, he was King Jaekar Targaryen, First of his name, Rightful King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men Lord of the Seven Kingdoms Protector of the Realm. Well at least he will be one day… for now he was the heir to an overthrown dynasty, born to the last dragon and the she wolf. He was the heir to a dynasty that ruled Westeros for nearly 300 years.A house that traces its lineage to Old Valyria, the greatest empire to ever exist. He came from a house of dragonlords, a house that produced some of the greatest and worst men and women to ever live in the history of Westeros.

He was the blood of the dragon, of Aegon the Dragon, of Maegor the cruel, of Jaehaerys the conciliator, of Baelon Spring Prince, of the Rogue Prince, of Daeron the Young Dragon and Daeron the Good, of Aemon the Dragonknight, of Baelor Breakspear, of Aegon the Unlikely, of Prince Duncan the prince of Dragonflies and finally of the Bard Prince, his father Rhaegar Targaryen.

His mother's heritage was as impressive as his father's. Considering the Starks were already kings while the Targaryens were just mere lords in old Valyria. He was the blood of Brandon the Builder, of Brandon the Breaker, of Bael the Bard, of Theon Stark the hungry wolf, of Torrhen Stark the king who put his people before his pride and of Cregan Stark The Old Man Of The North.

His brother was Robb Stark the eldest son of his uncle, every since they were kids Robb always attached himself to him, mayhaps it was because he was more mature due to his mental age and could learn and do things faster much to the displeasure of his uncle's wife Lady Catelyn Tully Stark.

She belonged to another old house from the riverlands. House Tully was raised. To power as the lord's of Riverrun by the Mudd's the Kings of the Trident at that time, they served under various houses through the ages as Bannermen but their fortunes changed when they fought against Black Hoare and the conqueror raised them to the rulers of the Trident.

Only for them to betray house Targaryen during the war of the usurper. The old man holster sold off his daughters to two lord paramounts in return for his support of the usurper and only after the marriage was consummated did he raise his banners.

Lady Catelyn hated him with a passion, possible because he looked like a stark more than her firstborn, Moreover his violent eyes sparked rumors of how his mother was lady Ashara Dayne, his uncles supposed lover and it possibly reminder her of how he took her to bed only because of duty and his mother because of either love or lust.

Another thing that intrigued him was the position of women in this world, gods if Aela was here she would throw a fit at it. Women had little to no right, most of them were used as a bargaining chip and a bloodmare to produce heir, throughout westeros succession was male favored primogeniture with women inheriting only when no males were available though there were exceptions women of Bear Island were all warriors but that was due to their history with Ironborn and then there was Dorne, where things were much more equal. With women coming out as both warriors and rulers coming out without discrimination and the only place on Westeros which had pure primogeniture possible due to their Rhoynish legacy.

In the beginning house Targaryen believed in an equal standpoint. Standing in conjunction with the valyrian practices of pure primogeniture and equality with the only requirement being having to be a Dragonrider. The change started when Aurion named Aegon his successor instead of Visenya, but that didn't change much, the conqueror might have been king but none could tell his sister wives what to do, they were queens not consorts… things changed in Jaehaerys I reign, while the old king referred to his sister wife on every topic and she was her closest advisor, that's what she was an advisor, a queen consort, though one might say otherwise the fact every bit of power she yielded was derived from her husband and was only able to yield was was the truth. Then came the succession crisis, the council of 101 and it set an ironclad precedent regarding succession and favoring brother over daughter and everything finally ended with the Dance. After the death of Rhaenyra and the dying of the dragons Targaryen women officially lost all power. Though future queen's like Daenaera Velaryon, Myrhia Martell and Bertha Blackwood held considerable influence over their husbands they never possessed any real power.

"You're late", the crow said….

He looked at the crow clearly annoyed "well try explaining to an over inquisitive brother and to a heavily pregnant suspicious lady who believe you to be a would be usurper who would one day murder her and her children to take their birthright why you disappear for hours every day …. Anyways …. So what are we doing today ….."

The crow almost smiled " Today we start with advanced warging lessons…. "

The crow in question was a bird possessed by Lord Brynden Bloodraven, his uncle, several generations great.

He met him on his second name day and since that day he had been training him to use the gifts granted by his blood, more specifically warging. An ability that allowed him to slip into the mind of an animal.

As he tried warging into multiple ravens together his mind went back to when they had first met.

Flashback…

A two man day Jaekar was sitting on top of the broken tower looking into the distance… The sky was overcast as always. The cold wind blew in from the north. A slight glimmer of sunlight managed to pierce through the clouds and fell upon the godswood.

" Beautiful isn't it?? " …...

A voice said from beside him.

" Yes … yes it is ", he replied. But his mouth fell as he turned.

There was no one beside him, only … only a crow. He remembered Barbas… the talking dog…. Could it be…" he thought a look of surprise and curiosity adoring his face.

"Why now don't look so surprised …", the crow spoke.

The crow spoke….

"Who … who are you ??", He asked.

"Greetings nephew I would be your great great great great grand uncle…. To the world I was lord Bloodraven, to you well that's something we would have to see " he said calmly to a gaping Jaekar.

Flashback Ends.

Thus he had started training under him. He was the only person who knew of his life in another world. His life as the Dragonborn.

It was good to finally have someone to talk to, someone who could guide him, tell him of why he was here and that's what Bloodraven did, except he was still hiding things. He told him of how he was brought by the gods to save this world from a threat as dangerous as the world water but refused to inform him of what it was telling him of how he was not ready. Reluctantly he obliged but started studies into myths and legends of the world for it is in them most threats like those of the world eater and their answers and found. He read of the lion of the long night, of the bloodstone emperor, of the others and the supposed heroes who brought and end to great evils of Azor Ahai, of Hyrkoon the Last Hero, of the last hero the stories told of a man welding a fiery sword standing against a darkness that would consume all, in the end his money was on either undead legions of the Bloodstone Emperor or the White Walker or others returning. But he kept it to himself waiting patiently for Bloodraven to divulge it himself.

For now he trained hoeing every skill. He could, he was yet to start training with a sword, he would start possibly when he turned four, so he trained his magic, expanding his magicka reserves, practicing shouts and above all experimenting with his newfound abilities.
