Miranda held Tucker's hand as they rolled their bags up the ramp on to the ship. They walked into a large open space with roped off lines and check in station. Miranda followed Tucker to the x-ray machine to get their carry-on scanned. Tucker Presented their id's and documents. They handed them their all in one electronic cards and schedule. Miranda looked down at the piece of paper that fell out of the gentleman's hand. "Hey sir, you dropped your paper." Miranda said as she picked it up and handed it to him. He grabbed it out of her hand. She looked at him and smiled as he said, "thank you." Smiling. He was very handsome. Miranda thought as she watched him walk away.
Miranda walked with Tucker to their room. "This is beautiful." Miranda said looking around.
"Yeah I'm glad we did this. I didn't think I was going to be able to get you to take a break from work at all." Tucker said seriously.
"Yeah, if I remember correctly you pestered me about it until I said yes" Miranda said laughing.
She took her clothes out of her bag and put them into the drawers. "Five days of sea, fun and reconnection." Tucker said walking over to hug her. Miranda had to stop herself from being stiff in his arms. She was trying to forgive and move passed his affair, yeah it was an emotional affair, so he did not actually sleep with the woman, but Miranda felt like an emotional affair was just as worse as a physical.
She told him that they would use this time for them to get back together and back on one accord.
"So, what do you want to do first?" Miranda asked
"We could go look around and see what to do first." Tucker suggested. "I am a little tired first, so I want to take a nap, but you can go see without me and then come tell me which one.
"Okay that's cool, I'm going to go get me a smoothie." Miranda said as she grabbed her card.
Miranda walked to go get her a smoothie she sat down in a chair and put her shades on looking at everyone walking around having fun. The boat was slowly moving away from land and she smiled at the people waving to the folks on land. After she fished her smoothie. She looked around to see what they could do to enjoy their first night. Nothing to strenuous. She saw that there was a big screen lounge chair movie on the front of the top deck at eight. She smiled because it was a new Sci-Fi movie that they were showing.
She walked back to the room and she sat down on the bed. Tucker rolled over to face her. "What did you find."
"A big screen movie. We can eat dinner and go watch that it starts at 8" Miranda said smiling getting into bed to take a nap.
Ben walked with his girlfriend Tiffany to their room. "Hey Ben, I was thinking we could start with drinks" Tiffany said grabbing his hand as he set their bags down. He waked with her out of the room to the bar. They sat down and ordered their drinks. Ben was glad for a vacation; he had worked at Seattle press three years straight with out taking a vacation. That wasn't really like him. He loved to travel. Tiffany was his long-term girlfriend that had been together for three years as well.
They spent the whole day finding fun activities for them to take part in.
The next day Miranda woke up and she decided to go to the spa. Tucker wanted to work out so they figured they would meet up at 12 for lunch. Miranda enjoyed the spa. The quiet time to relax. She let her mind ease as she got her full body massage. After she was done, she went to the middle deck to meet him for lunch. They sat and ate together, talking like it was old times. The time where it was just Tucker and Miranda not accountant and surgeon.
"Let's go swimming." Tucker said and Miranda agreed. They went and changed into their sim suits. Miranda put on her sheer black cover up that she ties around her waist. She made sure to put on plenty of sunscreen before leaving out. "You know the captain's ball is tonight." Miranda said she was excited to bring out her new dress she'd bought. Maybe her and Tucker might could actually reconnect sexually tonight because that too has really been a long time.
Miranda got into the water and she swam around she smiled as Tucker dived off of the diving board. she was glad that he was enjoying his self. They didn't get to do fun stuff anymore and she guess she was the blame for that part too, she was a surgeon who worked crazy hours and was barely home. She realized that and he never let her forget it. They had spent the whole day swimming and going to the water slides. The sun was starting to go down and she intertwined hands with him as they walked back to the room to get dressed and ready.
Miranda showered and did her hair. She put her long silver sequence, sweetheart neckline, midway split dress on. She loved the way it hugged her curves. "Tucker why don't you go get us a table. I just have to put on a little makeup and then I will be there." Miranda yelled from the bathroom. she heard the door from the bathroom closed and she knew he was gone.
After she finished putting her makeup on, she slid on her silver platform heels. Miranda felt a little stuffy and she decided to go get some air before she met Tucker. She reached the top deck and she walked over to the rails she looked and noticed that she was alone. She stood and looked out at the beautiful sea the waves were rolling at a fast pace. The storm clouds filled the sky and the moon was in the center of it. It was dark but the moon cast its glow onto the water and Miranda smiled at the painting worthy scene. She smelled the rain in the air, and she knew that it was indeed about to storm.
Ben sat up out of the lounge chair at the side of the deck. He took a nap there because his girlfriend was constantly nagging him about little stuff, and he told her to go get a spa treatment. Ben looked up at the clouds as beautiful as they were, he knew it was about to storm.
Ben stood up to go back to his room when he felt a big jerk of the ship. Ben thought he was going crazy, but no the ship felt like it was tipping, and he was sliding backwards. Ben grabbed on to the rail to steady his self and that's when he heard it. A piercing scream.
He heard it again and he walked in the direction on the scream. Ben held on to the bars and walked that way. He looked around but he saw no one. "Someone help me please." He heard the voice yelled again. Ben looked to the voice and then saw the women's hands holding on to the back on the rail. She was hanging off of the ship.
"Hold on." Ben yelled as he slid some to get to her
"Please you got to help me." Miranda cried.
Ben reached out and grabbed her hands and he tried pulling her up. Miranda kept looking down at the water and the big waves that rolled underneath her. "Hey, hey look at me, don't worry" Ben said as he held on to her. The more the boat tipped the more he was losing his feet.
"My hands are slipping; I don't think I can hold on." Miranda cried out as tears slid down her face.
"Hey what's your name?... what your name?" Ben asked.
"It's Miranda." she cried
"Miranda." Ben said testing it out on his lips. She had a beautiful name for a beautiful woman.
"Miranda my name is Benjamin, but everyone calls Ben. I promise you, if you don't let go, I won't let go." Ben said looking down into her eyes. He desperately wanted to wipe her tears away and he had an urge to kiss her on the nose and forehead.
"Ben I'm trying." Miranda said
"Hang in there. I got you. I will hold onto you until someone sees us and they can help us." Ben said seriously.
Miranda nodded her head and she looked up frantically as they heard a crack in the sky from the lightening and thunder.
"Miranda just focused on me. Its only me and you, right here."
"Yeah; me, you and the ocean… that if you haven't notice I am hanging over." Miranda said smiling. Ben chuckled. "Who would have ever thought that you would be Rose and I would be Jack." Ben cracked a joke and Miranda actually laughed
"Now Benjamin that was a good one" Miranda laughed.
They both heard a screeching sound as the boat jerk causing ben to stumble. Miranda out of fear jumped at the sound causing her to let go of his hand.
"Noooo Miranda!" Ben yelled and if people were looking you could see the veins in his neck. He heard a scream followed by a splash. Ben looked out frantically "Miranda." Ben yelled out once more. He tried to find something, anything he could use. Ben saw a life jacket, but it was only one. He grabbed it and he stood on the rails jumping overboard to save her.
