Chapter thirteen:

Kyosuke smirks as he finishes killing criminals. "Okay. I did what you wanted. I killed criminals. Now can I use this thing for what I want to?" He looks to Rem with a demanding look for her to allow him to do what he wants to.

"Fine." Rem agrees figuring that this may help in him getting caught faster than before. She then might be able to get away from him sooner.

Kyosuke smirks and begins writing down names of some of those that are in competition to the Yotsuba Corporation, knowing that the letter from Kira made it clear who was off limits for being killed. So he avoids those people not sure if Kira still has a Death note to kill him whenever he wants to do so.

Rem just watches him do this not caring at all how fast he gets captured.

Kyosuke smirks as he starts to get an idea to use his position to help to hold meetings with the others to decide who they are going to kill. He feels like they can have so much fun doing so and increase their profits. He keeps quiet about this for now knowing very well that Rem is also in the room with him. He just knows that he can't let his coworkers know that it is him who is doing Kiras work. He doesn't want them to possibly conspire against him if things don't end up going as planned.

Elsewhere in the city…

The time for another meeting with L and Misa has come.

The two of them have decided to meet up at night while the rest of the team are asleep to try to not raise any questions or suspicions.

Misa glances as the car pulls up to her. She made sure to wear a hoodie with the hood pulled up so as to not be noticed or swarmed by fans that are still up. She heads over to the now familiar car to her and climbs inside closing the door.

Watari begins driving now that Misa is safely inside and she takes off the hood from her head. He does what he knows that the two would like him to do, which is to just drive around aimlessly until they are finished with their meeting.

Misa and L smile to each other as their eyes lock together. Their hands reach to each other and become held together.

"It is good to see you again." L admits to Misa who smiles more at those words.

"The same can be said to you." Misa agrees to that and shifts closer until she is pressed against him. She lays her head on his shoulder briefly closing her eyes as she enjoys the closeness with the other. She knows that they need to get down to business and that they don't have all night. So she decides that she might as well start things off. "I can't believe that Light actually wants to get a Death note into your hands. Though he said it was going to act more as a distraction for what he is planning to do to move forward in all of this. He is still able to use one to kill people however." She tries to keep the information to what L is likely to remember and not something that he won't. She knows that he likely has missing memories due to the change of ownership of the Death note belonging to Rem.

"We'll have to move in before then." L mentions to Misa then grabs something from the side of the car door on his side. He hands her a small device that she takes with the hand that isn't holding onto L's own hand.

L shows her how to work it. "It can record things easily and we need to be able to catch Light using the Death note to kill someone. Hopefully get the name of someone who does end up dying. And when we get our hands on the Death note that Light wants us to get our hands on, then we can truly start to move in to catch him in all of this." He then remembers that the task force know that there are two Kiras. "I will make sure that you will have immunity to what you did." He assures her in which she softly chuckles.

"I know that you will." Misa assures him and nuzzles his neck lovingly. "Plus we can use Kyosuke as the second Kira if we have to. I will admit to what I have done if we need to though. I am sure that them finding out that I was spy for you all this time, just trying to help bring Kira down before he brings the world down."

L nods to this. "And if people try to make you pay then you can hide with me. They won't know where you are. And we can keep working together. Though I will admit to you that I do have plans for you to help me with the cases that I will have after this one."

At hearing his words Misa raises her head and meets her loves eyes. "You really mean it?" She asks of the other feeling her heart flutter in her chest. She sees the raven haired male give her a soft nod of confirmation. She grins so happy to hear that and feels her chest fill with warmth. "I am so happy to hear that. Thank you!"

"Don't worry about it." L assures her. "I will love having you working at my side." He pauses in surprise as suddenly Misa leans forward, her eyes closed, and kisses him on the lips.

Misa finds a sweetness on the other's lips as she kisses him. She is about to pull away when he starts to kiss her back. She relaxes as she had worried that just going for it in the moment was a bad idea.

The two kiss one another for a few moments then pull away from one another. They smile happily to each other with Misa blushing for the both of them.

After all Misa understands that L is not one who is big on showing his emotions as much as other people are. So she doesn't mind that he isn't showing any sign of a blush from their kiss. She knows that he loves her, cares about her, and did indeed enjoy the kiss. "I won't let you down." She promises knowing that she is going to have to be sneaky."

"The device I gave you is completely silent." L adds to make sure that she knows. "All we need is one name that he writes in that notebook. Then we can pursue capturing him."

"I will get you that name." Misa promises her eyes fully showing her determination to be able to do this for the other.

A few days later…

Misa gets a text from Light and reads it as she is sitting in her hotel room.

Hey. I am going to come over. My dad insisted that I take a break since I am younger than them. So we will be doing some Kira killings together.

Misa begins typing her response to what Light had texted to her.

Okay. I'll make sure that you have the address. Here it is.

After sending the message alongside the address Misa smirks to herself. She has been waiting for this time to come. She hasn't wanted to push Light into this just yet. She was planning to do so by the end of the week if he hadn't decided to do this himself. She was planning what to say to him to get him to do it. Though she must admit that it is all so much better that he has actually done it on his own.

After a little bit Light arrives and the two of them are sitting on the couch writing down some criminal names.

Misa lets them get a little further into getting these things done before she decides that she needs to make her move. "I am getting thirsty. I am going to get some water." She stands up leaving the papers she had been writing on on the table. "Do you want anything?"

"No. I am fine." Light turns down her offer in which Misa heads to the kitchen.

Misa glances back and confirms that Light is still writing names down in the notebook. She turns away and takes out the device from where she hid it in one of the cupboards above the microwave, since she is sure that it wouldn't be searched for a cup or anything else. She turns on the tap to act as if she is getting a glass of water. She then grabs a cup and places it in the sink. She lets it get filled then turns off the water. She can't leave it running as Light might get suspicious. She sneaks towards Light glad that he is facing away from her so he is seeing none of this. She sneaks towards him glad that she is not wearing shoes though is wearing socks. She manages to get right behind him and raises the device. She at first takes a photo of him writing in the notebook. She then takes a picture of the name that he is currently writing down. She switches the device to record and takes a short video of him finishing the name then starting on another name. She ends the video then heads back to the kitchen. She hides the device once more after turning it off. She chugs the water and puts the glass back into the sink. She heads back retaking her seat by Light to resume helping in killing some criminals as if nothing had happened.
