Chapter fifteen:

"Do you think you can pull it off?" L questions Misa who is snuggled against his side with his arm around her. He has waited a few days to pretend to be looking into the group more as potentially connected to Kira. He just doesn't want to rush things just in case Light gets suspicious of anything that is going on. So he had told the others that he had to meet with someone from another case posing as a representative from L. He only told them that to keep any suspicion off of himself while also telling them to keep their focus on the Kira case. That he would deal with anything else that he also has to do. He plans to have Misa do this early then later be able to show it off after he does something that he plans to do. He just wants to be able to let Misa get this part over with so it is ready to go. He especially wants to have this bit just in case something ends up going wrong.

"Yeah. I do believe that I can." Misa confirms to him. "And when you tell me to do so I will use Light to be able to get in there without being caught. I'll tell him that it was my own idea to get the Death note into your guys hands." She knows that L does plan to have something happen before she shares the recording that she will have gotten.

L nods his head to this. "Good luck. And do be careful."

"I will." Misa promises and shares a kiss with L in the car that they have met in so many times before.

Later…

Misa hangs around the Yotsuba headquarters waiting for the right man to come on out. She spots him and approaches him with a smile.

Kyosuke turns to her with a rather surprised look on his face.

"Is there somewhere that we can talk in private?" Misa requests blinking hopefully ay him.

Kyosuke smiles as he looks her over making Misa do all she can to not squirm as she really dislikes this man. "Of course. Come to my car." He leads the way with Misa following after him and the two climb into the front seats of the red car. "What is it that you would like to talk about?"

Misa has her phone on record. "Well. I am going to tell you something but you gotta keep it a secret."

"Sure." Kyosuke nods his head smiling more as he keeps looking down to the blonde girls body.

"I am one of the Kiras. And I wanted to know if you were really the third Kira. The first Kira just said someone in your group. And when I saw you I figured it had to be you. You're so good looking you must have won over the Gods for a chance to be Kira. If I really am right that is." Misa hides herself taking a deep breath before she continues. "And I mean you are better looking than most that I have met." She keeps pressing on and flutters her eyes at him.

Kyosuke starts to reach towards her smirking widely only to be pushed away.

"I am only interested in Kiras." Misa tells Kyosuke a little sternly as she stares into his shocked eyes. "If you are not the third Kira then I am going to leave."

"Oh don't worry." Kyosuke lowers her seat so she's leaning all the way back and Misa barely keeps herself from gasping out loud when this happens. He climbs onto her grinning down at her. "I am the third Kira." He confirms and lets her touch his Death note as proof before he tosses it to the floor of the front passenger area. Only to be pushed off of her so that she can sit up.

"Thank you for admitting that however I am not ready for such things. Especially not in a car. I will be seeing you again however." Misa promises and offers him a smile. "You can count on that Third Kira." She gently touches his chest trying to keep up with the part that she is trying to play. "Handsome Third Kira. You will be seeing me again. So won't you give me your phone number?"

"Of course." Kyosuke pulls out a note pad and writes his number down. He hands it to her. "I really do hope to be seeing you around."

"Of course." Misa agrees then manages to slip away leaving the car. She glances to Rem who nods in greeting to her. She softly smiles before heading off on her way. She does kind of wish Rem could just come with her.

The poor Shinigami must be hating the time with that loser.

Misa sends a message to L telling him that she has gotten the confession and after he makes sure she is okay he thanks her. She happily heads to where she is staying for now. She feels so warm and fuzzy at how worried he was about her.

The next day…

L has requested that the task force gather to listen to something that he has to say. "We are going to be taking a closer look than before of the Yotsuba corporation." He announces to everyone who is a part of this task force that each of them know about. "I do believe that there is enough evidence that somehow they are involved in with the two Kiras. Many of the competition has died. So we need to make our move right away." He turns to Matsuda. "You are going to be infiltrating their building and seeing what you can get on information."

"Are you sure that is a good idea?" Light speaks up though he secretly doesn't really care as this should help to get their hands on the Death note. Just as he had planned to happen. "It sounds pretty risky. What if he is caught?"

"I already thought of that." L assures Light and turns back to Matsuda. "I picked Matsuda because he is the one who really looks the part. Well the part of being Misa's agent." He sees surprised looks from this. "I pulled a few strings and I managed to get her actual agents agreement. Misa will be informed of this though I did get a message that she would be happy to help an investigation, as her agent puts it. So. Matsuda you are I believe the perfect age for this. Thus you will sneak into the building to try to find clues and more information. If you get caught just pull out this picture I got from her agent." He hands him the picture. "And pretend that you know nothing about one of them possibly at least being in contact with at least one Kira. Or having been given Kira's powers. You pitch that Misa does something like a photoshoot for their company. We will plan things if you do get caught and they agree to do a little something with her for the company." He did actually get her agent involved just telling him that they might need to use her to help in an investigation. He wanted to make sure it truly seemed like things did go as he said. He doesn't want Light to figure out that beautiful Misa is a spy or in contact with him.

"Well okay." Matsuda agrees putting the photo in his wallet. "I suppose that it is worth a try."

"Good." L nods his head to this. "We will let you head out soon."

Matsuda swallows a little harshly though gets a pat on his shoulder from one of the others, he doesn't look to see who, to try to assure him that he will do great.

A little later…

Matsuda arrives at the building and gets out of his car. He looks to it and takes a breath before heading towards the front entrance. He was sent to be arriving when no one is at the front desk to notice him. He gets inside and looks around as though confused knowing that he has to act the part as an agent. He does know that they have cameras. He was shown a map of the cameras and where they can see him by L so he tries to keep that in mind. He moves further into the building checking rooms as if looking for someone. He does attempt to subtly step into blind spots to try to see if he can find any information if he can look in the rooms. He is glad that they are all empty of people as it is around the time a lot of people leave to go home.

So not many are left in the building, which was L's plan as he had said he had been observing the schedules of people there. Though the cameras do not offer any audio thus they can't confirm L's suspicion via the cameras alone.

Matsuda presses on and notices a door cracked with a light on inside. He heads towards it and pretends to raise a hand to knock though pauses as he hears a meeting going on. He pretends to hesitate about interrupting the meeting as he secretly listens to what they have to say in the meeting.

"So, We have agreed on that person. Who else should we get Kira to kill next?" One voice asks as Matsuda continues to listen in to what they have to say.

"I was thinking about this man from the upcoming company that he owns." A paper being slid across a table can be heard. "He is becoming bigger and bigger. He threatens our own company. I say that we take care of him before he becomes too big of a problem."

"I agree. And maybe we can ask that Kira does something to mess up the company. To make sure that they are not able to get too big. So that this death doesn't go in vain in taking out that competition."

The others make sounds of agreement to this.

"I do think that we have decided on enough people for today."

Matsuda knows that this is his time. He spots a camera facing him from the corner of his eye. He knocks and after a few moments of silence he hears someone call for him to come inside. He heads inside knowing that with the camera watching him he will be unable to run without being suspicious. He is glad that L thought of the cover up of him being Misa's agent. "Oh thank whoever is looking down upon me. I really did find someone in here." He mentions as if he hadn't heard anything about what they were talking about. He then blinks looking at the unhappy faces. "I am sorry if I am interrupting a meeting. I am sure you all must be very busy making decisions for your company." He pulls out the picture of Misa and shows it to them. "I am actually Misa's agent and I came here with the hope of getting a gig with your company. I think that with such a great company that it would be great for both her and you guys."

Those in the room look around at each other as though contemplating the offer.

"On one condition." One of them speaks up though Matsuda doesn't know his name as he wasn't told them just in case to really stay in the part; which he is glad for as he is less likely to slip up and say their name in his nervousness.

"What is it?" Matsuda lowers the picture and tilts his head.

"To prove that you are who you say you are get Misa and if possible a few of her friends or those that she has worked with before, into a party for us. If you can pull that off then we can discuss a cooperation project with her."

"That is no problem." Matsuda nods his head and gives them a smile. "Is there a way I can contact you so that I can tell you that it is ready?"

"Just tell our head secretary at the front desk. If she isn't there then wait for her to return. Don't wander our building."

"Right. Of course. I am so sorry. I just wanted to get her work as soon as possibly so badly. I didn't mean any disrespect wandering the building. I will let you get back to whatever you were discussing in this meeting. Thank you for considering the offer." He leaves after that and leaves the building. He gets into his car and drives off with a heavy sigh. He is glad that it seemed to go very smoothly. He can't wait to get back to the headquarters to share his findings.
