Chapter sixteen:

Misa is waiting for the meeting this time with some of those that L is working with. She was notified on how things had gone so that she would be needed. She turns as Matsuda and Soichiro approach her. "Hello. It is nice to meet you." She greets getting up from the park bench that she had been sitting on.

"We would like to start with thanking you for agreeing to assist in an investigation." Soichiro tells the blonde who lowers her head for a moment then raises it again.

Misa opens her eyes as she had closed them for a moment when she lowered her head. "It is no problem. I am just really glad that I am able to help in anyway to catch bad people."

Soichiro nods to this before clearing his throat. "Well we should get down to business then." He sees Misa nod in agreement to this that they really should get going on this. "This is Matsuda." He gestures to him in which he waves to her. "He will be acting as your agent." He lets the two exchange a polite greeting nod with each other before he continues. "What we need you to do is we are going to rent a nice hotel room then bring some of those who would be willing to do this too. Those that you have worked with before or friends. To a party to convince a group that we are trying to investigate that Matsuda is really your agent. And that we are just looking to get you a gig with the group and not any sort of investigation into them."

"Things could turn out really badly for me if we don't do this." Matsuda informs Misa who turns her attention to him seeing the clear worry in his eyes. "I got caught spying on them and if we don't do this well then they might kill me for suspecting me."

"I know exactly who would love to help us out." Misa tells them with assurance in her voice especially to Matsuda who sighs in relief. "Why don't you give me your phone. I'll put my number in it so that way you can contact me with the details."

Matsuda nods his head and gives the girl his phone letting her add her number in it.

Misa texts herself to make sure that she will have Matsuda's number in her phone then hands his phone back to him.

"We thank you so much for doing this." Soichiro adds after Matsuda puts his phone away. "It means so much to our investigation. Is there anything we can do in return for you?"

"No need. I am just happy to be able to help. I really should be thanking you for this opportunity to help with an investigation." Misa responds waving it off with a wide smile. "I'll get in contact with those that I am thinking will be able to help us then I will send their information to Matsuda here."

With that they part ways for now as Matsuda and Soichiro head back to the headquarters.

While Misa heads to get to her hotel room to start talking to those that should be able to help. She also knows that they are good at keeping secrets so she isn't afraid to just straight out ask them. She arrives to her hotel room and sits on the couch. She begins texting one girl at a time starting with the same thing for each of them.

Hey. I have a possible gig. However the group is also under investigation though they can't know that part. An investigator will be acting as my agent. So pretend that he really is my agent as if you know him. To prove that he is my agent to the group we have to set up a party with me and some others. I knew you'd be perfect for this. So, how about it?

She sends those messages and waits for some replies which actually end up not taking very long.

Misa smiles at the responses all on the positive that they are willing to help out with this. She sends them a thank you text back and assures them that they will know more when she knows more. "This is going great." She looks up from her phone to her currently turned off TV. "I really hope that we get this done soon. I so want to be able to help wrap up the Kira investigation." She sighs softly. "Who knows what Light could be planning to do next." She grabs the remote turning on the TV and decides to watch some of for a little bit. She doesn't have too much left to do at least for today after all. She'll tell the investigators about the confirmations when they send her the date, place and time of the party that they have to set up.

Meanwhile at the Kira investigation headquarters…

"It went great." Soichiro tells everyone as they watch and listen to what he has to say. "She said that she knows of some who would be willing to help with this. And if she trusts them to do this then I do believe that we can too."

"Thank you for getting that confirmation from her." L mentions with his thumb resting on his bottom lip as he is still sitting just turned to face them. "I have Watari setting up a hotel room. Once he completes it then he will let me know it's location. We then just set up a date and time, send Matsuda to inform the group then we'll do this."

"I just have a quick question." Matsuda brings up sounding a little worried. "What if my cover has been blown or they might start to figure out something? Do we have an escape plan for me?"

"Actually there is one." L confirms and sees Matsuda relax upon hearing this. "We have also rented another hotel room below the one we will be using. You contact us from any room you can without getting caught. Then we will fake your death to them." He sees Matsuda's eyes slightly widen at hearing this.

Matsuda opens his mouth to speak about that a little more only to close his mouth realizing that L is right about setting up that plan. If they think that he is dead then he will be free from them trying to hunt him down. He also doesn't want to end up actually dead especially by the hands of one of the Kiras.

"However this does mean that everyone is going to have to help with this." L informs everyone glancing to all of them one at a time. "We will all have our own roles to play. I even have someone who can easily play the dead Matsuda. Eraldo Coil." He sees the shocked faces at this. "Well technically that name is one of my Alias's there is a man who acts as the face of that name." He tells them seeing their shock deepen though also some understanding that is like go figure. "He has agreed to play the part of Matsuda's body if needed. The rest of us will have our own roles to play." He then begins assigning roles. "Soichiro and Aizawa. You two will work together in the hotel room we've rented below the one where Matsuda will be. You will be the ones to make sure that if we have to fake his death that he won't actually die. As well as to make sure that there is the sound of him dying. Watari will show you how you will do that and where to place things to be prepared for it." He sees them nod to this. He turns to Ide next. "Ide. You will be the driver of the ambulance that me and Light will pretend to be the paramedics of. You will just need to drive like you really are an ambulance driver." He finally glances to Light. "As I am sure you've heard me say. You will be working with me as paramedics. We will be taking the man who will play Matsuda's dead body into the ambulance so Ide can drive us away from the scene." He sees Light nod in agreement to this so he looks over everyone. "Watari will act as a man who saw Matsuda die and call Ide to come check on the fake Matsuda." He sees that they all think that this is a good idea. "Then it is settled." He also agrees to this glad to see that they are all ready to do their part of the plan. "I will give Matsuda further instructions when he contacts me if things go wrong." He adds to Matsuda mainly who nods in understanding. He feels really confident about this working.
