Notes: Ahhhh here we are again my lovelies! This will be the third installment of my zombies series and is the sequel to my other stories 'clan of the moonstone' and 'us against the world' so read those first. Thanks!
I was able to get it out sooner than expected ... hey what better way to pass the time when you can't sleep due to a screaming puppy then writing right? LOL. I am sorry for any typos, as the new pup is home and I am a little tired lol 😴
The months past and the school year was in full swing. Zed was doing an amazing job as head coach of the football team, in fact, the mighty shrimp had already win their first two games. Zach had started kindergarten and was loving it. The following summer, Angelina would be heading off to cheer camp for the first time, and it was all she talked about. She spent every waking moment practicing, and Bree had been right, she was Addison's mini me through and through.
Addison had worked hard over the summer in perfecting her diamond making skills, and they had improved so much that it was now nearly impossible to tell her diamonds from those who were made by someone who was pure moonstone. They were so exquisite that most of the diamond dealers were now getting their supplies from her, instead of depending on foreign suppliers, whose diamonds were often harvested unethically.
Eliza had made it all the way to the semi finals at the gaming championships before being defeated by another zombie girl who was about her age who lived a few streets over from her. It wasn't all for naught, though. The owner of one of the video game companies that was sponsoring The event was so impressed with her skills that he offered her a job writing code for their games, which of course she eagerly accepted.
Wyatt had turned his skills at woodworking into quite a lucrative furniture business and before he knew it, he was having orders coming in from all over the country.
Bucky decided to run for the public relations position on the city council when the previous holder of the position decided to retire and of course ... He won by a landslide.
Wynry had turned her skills at jewelry making into quite a successful business, she was even able to purchase a store front right next to the grocery store in Zombietown and it was always bustling with customers, oftentimes, she would have people waiting at the door when she arrived in the morning to open.
Luckily, before they destroyed old Seabrook power, someone had thought to take pictures of the artwork and murals that adorned the walls, most of which were created by Bonzo and when construction finally was set to begin in the new cheer pavilion, the contractor asked Bonzo if he would create the artwork for the walls, and he eagerly agreed.
Bree had enrolled in college and was well on her way to becoming a child custody lawyer.
"So, how's the business coming along?" Addison asked Wynry at dinner as she and Zed served the food. Weekly dinners where they all got together at Zed and Addison's house had become a tradition after the wedding, especially since Bucky's parents still hadn't come around to accepting the fact that he was married to a non human.
She smiled tiredly. "It's going good, it's more work than I expected, but I love it." She said.
"That's great!" Addison said with a smile, still, she couldn't help but worry about how tired Wynry looked. Bucky noticed it too, because he cast a worried glance at her as he put his hand over hers.
"You know, if you need help running the store or with whatever, all you have to do is ask." Addison said.
"Actually... A little help would be nice." Wynry said, smiling shyly
"Great! Just let me know when to be there! Just be warned, on weekends you might have a couple of extra helpers because I'll have the kids." Addison said with a laugh.
Wynry smiled. "That won't be a problem at all, I love your kids!"
Wynry and to her surprise... Bucky had been helping Angelina perfect her cheer skills before she would be going off to cheer camp.
Bucky had claimed that it was because of her family genes, and he wanted to make sure they were well represented, but Addison knew better. It was plain that he love her kids, and Every time he was with them, Addison had caught herself thinking how he'd make a good father one day ... A thought she had NEVER imagined she would entertaining when it came to her cousin.
"How does tomorrow sound?" Wynry asked.
Addison smiled at her. "I'll be there.
Sure enough, when Addison and Wynry arrived at the store the next morning, there was already a small crowd of people waiting for her to open.
"Wow! You weren't kidding!" Addison exclaimed.
"It's like this every day I'm open! It's both a blessing and a curse." Wynry said, her tone was humorous, but Addison couldn't help but notice how tired she was, and the suspected that the busy store wasn't the only culprit.
"Wynry, are you sure you're okay? You don't look so good." Addison said as she put a hand on her shoulder.
Wynry offered a tired smile. "Yeah ... I'm good ... I promise." She assured her as she unlocked the door and the customers began to pour in.
Addison eyed her worriedly as she helped ring customers up at the register, she decided not to bring it up again ... But that didn't mean she stopped thinking about it.
"Wow, what a day! I'm beat! I can see why you're so tired!" Addison said with a laugh as they closed up after they had helped a few straggling customers, even though it was well after closing time, Wynry still insisted on helping them find the perfect piece of jewelry.
"I still can't believe people like my stuff this much!" Wynry said as they both went through and locked all the display cases and checked everything to make sure everything was accounted for.
"Well you should ... Because your stuff is awesome ... Oh my gosh!" She suddenly said, rushing forward to catch Wynry as she fainted, pitching forward into her arms.
Bucky rushed up to where Addison was sitting in the waiting area as she rose to meet him.
"H ... How is she!" He said between gulps of air, having clearly ran full tilt all the way from the parking lot, and who knew how many traffic laws he had broken getting here.
Addison gave her cousin a sympathetic look as she hooked her arm through his and led him to where she had been sitting, waiting for any news from the doctor.
"No, but they only just took her back, so it might be a while." Addison replied.
"I should've helped her more with the store, but I was too focused on what I was doing ... I'm such a selfish jerk!" He moaned as he rested his face in his hands.
"Bucky no! Don't say that! You're an awesome husband! I know how demanding being in the city council can be, trust me, my mom's the Mayor, remember?" She said as she offered a smile.
Just then, the doctor walked up accompanied to Addison's surprise, by Doctor Henley.
The pieces suddenly clicked into place for Addison.
"Oh my gosh ... Oh my gosh...!" She squealed as she jumped up and down, unable to contain her excitement as she clapped her hands together.
Doctor Henley chuckled in spite of herself as she gave Addison a wry smile.
"Hey ... Excuse me, but does someone want to fill me in here on what's going on with my wife? Is she gonna be okay?" Bucky asked, his voice and his face lined with fear and worry.
Doctor Henley smiled happily at him. "Her blood pressure was a little elevated, which is why she fainted. We'll have to keep an eye on it, but it's a pretty common thing at this stage, right now I'm not too worried. Addison, you already said that you would be helping her at her store, is that right?"
"Absolutely! I'm gonna help out any way that I can! I'm so happy for you guys!" She squealed excitedly
Bucky's gaze flicked from Doctor Henley to Addison, a confused expression on his face.
"I'm sorry ... But I'm not following here ..." He said
"You're going to be a dad, silly!" Addison blurted out excitedly, unable to keep the news to herself any longer.
Bucky's mouth fell open in shock as his head slowly turned towards Doctor Henley, who smiled at him and nodded in affirmation.
"As of now, everything looks just fine and seems to be progressing normally, but I want to see her back at fourteen weeks, then maybe we can see what you're going to be having. Congratulations to the both of you." She said with a genuine smile as she turned and left them to it.
"This is so awesome! You guys are going to love being parents, trust me!" She squealed as she shook Bucky's arm excitedly.
Bucky slowly turned to look at her, his eyes huge as saucers and glazed over from shock.
"I'm... I'm ... Going to be a... Dad ...?" He stuttered, then, in true Bucky form, he promptly fainted.
