Chapter 12 "Broken"

The three amazons rode fast towards the firelight in the distance as the sun set behind them. Kate had navigated correctly and led her companions to the right spot and just before the dying light faded.
Kate pulled her horse up near the large bonfire made of burning thin pines and dismounted. Only Ella, Brandy and myself made it to the southern entrance of the caves, the other sisters fled north deeper into the caves while our younger ones were assaulted and taken somewhere inside." "Stow the gear by the fire Ester and meet us up at the caves, night will be here in minuets and I want to get moving soon before we grow tired." Kate instructed as she turned to Majd to whisper. "They are not telling us something. They've been here for longer than they let on."
Majd nodded to Kate and looked over the three so called warriors from Delta-wolf. The only one that seemed able to handle herself in a fight was Ashley. Ella was too talkative and odd to be a warrior and Brandy seemed ill to the point of collapse. "Sometin's up. I'll keep watch." Majd said walking towards the mountain in the distance.

Kate glanced to Ester who was unloading the gear from the horses and putting it fireside before joining the group headed to the mountain pass. "Somethings wrong." Kate thought to herself.
As they neared the entrance to the cave Majd stopped and went to one knee to inspect tracks on the ground. She ran her finger over the odd shaped prints that were pressed into the dry, hard soil.
