Then you should get to know me, I'll teach you other stuff.

But inside, I'm tall.

Other 12 girls: She may be teeny tiny,

Diminutive petite,

But that has never stopped her,

From being pretty neat!

Dum dee dum dee dum,

Dum, dee dum dee dum,

Madeline,

She's Madeline, she's Madeline,

We hope you have it straight.

Madeline: I'm Madeline, I'm Madeline,

And inside, I'm great!

In an old house in Paris, that was covered in vines.

Lived thirteen little girls,

in two straight lines.

Miss Clavel said "Allonez little girls! Hurry!"

They left the house at half past nine,

in two straight lines,

Steven said "Wait for us, we are coming too!"

Miss Clavel said "Oh we would never forgot you two Steven and Pepito, our favorite neighbors!"

Narrator: Miss Clavel counted everyone in line and said.

Miss Clavel said "We are missing Riley and Madeline!"

Madeline said "Bonjour!"

Riley said "Genvevieve says we had better hurry!"

Narrator: On first day of their winter vacation, the girls, Steven, and Pepito dash to the train station. The taxi driver got them there without a moment left to spear.

Miss Clavel said "How fortunate we are that my Aunt Hilda has invited us to visit her in the Alps!"

Riley said "Oui, and she lives in a chalet!"

Chloe said "Is a chalet like a castle?"

Miss Clavel said "No mes petites, a chalet is- well you shall see for yourself, regardé!"

Narrator: Giggled with anticipation, each travelers imagination designed a wonderous destination.

Madeline Ice skates

Pepito "Hmm skis!"

Chloe and Nicole said "HMM snowman!"

Miss Clavel said "Hmm a nice warm fire, and quit for fifteen minutes. Why the kids are out playing!"

Chloe said "The mountain will be white with snow."

Nicole said "Oui tons, and tons of it!"

Steven said "But too much snow can be muy peligroso."

Pepito said "Very dangerous."

Nicole said "How can beautiful snow be dangerous?"

Steven said "Snow monsters!"

All the girls said "Monsters?"

Narrator: Steven and Pepito told of a creature that could be captured by no man, a ghostly giant the abominable snowman, sent a chill down every spine, it even frightened Madeline but Riley wasn't impressed.

Miss Clavel said "Steven, Pepito stop this talk. Monsters are not real."

Riley said "Oui, no more of this scary stuff!"

Miss Clavel said "Now little ones please try to get some rest, you have a big day ahead of you!"

An hour later

Miss Clavel said "At last regardé!"

Danielle said "There is hardly any snow."

All the girls said "We wanted snow!"

Madeline said "At least Pepito and Steven's abominable snowman did not come to meet us!"

Pepito said "Not yet!"

Chloe said "Does the abdominal snowman wear bells?"

Miss Clavel said "Ah! Here my nephew Hans!"

Hans said "Gooten tag girls, good day Aunt Clara!"

Miss Clavel said "Bonjour Hans, my how you have grown!"

Hans said "My grandmother is so anxious to see you!"

All the girls asked "Will it snow?"

Hans said "You will have to ask grandmother."

Narrator: In an bumpy old carriage they admired the view, the mountains were snow capped in, and the sky was oh so blue.

Riley said "Look a little goat up on that mountain!"

Hans "Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo!"

Steven said "Hans is something stuck in your throat?"

Miss Clavel said "No no Steven, Hans is yodeling."

Hans yells "Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo!"

Madeline said "I think this goat likes your yodeling Hans!"

Hans "Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo!"

Narrator: Hans yodeling was so loud.

Hans "Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo"

Narrator: That he has attracted quite a crowd, not much late in the day, the group arrived at the chalet.

Miss Clavel said "Dear aunt Hilda!"

Hilda said "Welcome aunt Clara, welcome children come in!"

Madeline said "That was a good story aunt Hilda, tell us another!"

Pepito said "Si, tell us about the abominable snowman!"

Miss Clavel said "Now now Steven and Pepito"

Chloe said "Have you even seen the abdominable snowman?"

Aunt Hilda said "Ah oui, I winked of course!"

Miss Clavel said "Aunt Hilda!"

Hilda said "One winter I was out at the woodshed, when I heard a strange sound."

All the kids said "Ohh!"

Hilda said "I turned around, and found a snow covered giant staring straight at me!"

All the girls said "Ohh!"

Madeline said "Did you scream?"

Hilda said "Yeah I screamed because he was standing on my toes!"

Riley said "What did it do?"

Hilda said "He ran way, and ever since that day I know by that toe that is it going to snow."

Miss Clavel said "Oh Aunt Hilda, your imagination is as good as Steven and Pepito!"

Narrator: Then Aunt Hilda's toes felt suddenly warm.

Aunt Hilda said "I think we are in for a monstrous storm."

Hans turned on the radio " Snow storm warning, snowing is moving in tonight, repeat snow storm alert, snow will accumulate up to two feet in the mountain arcs."

Hilda said "Let us hope there is not too much."

Narrator: Later the children ate gingerbread, and brushed there teeth, and want to bed but they thought they heard some monster peeps, and not ever one could fall asleep in the middle of the night. Miss Clave turned on the light and said.

Miss Clavel said "Something is not right!"

Narrator: Miss Clavel ran fast and faster, hurried toward the new disaster.

Nicole said "Miss Clavel save us!"

Miss Clavel said "What is it Mes petites?"

Chloe said "The monster!"

Miss Clavel said "What monster?"

Nicole said "The abominable snowman, he is outside our window, listen!"

Madeline said "Regardé, there he is!"

Miss Clavel said' C'horror!"

Chloe said "It is the abdominable snowman!"

Nicole said "The abominable snowman!"

Riley said "I am not so sure Chloe"

Madeline said "No Riley, do not go near him!"

Riley said "Madeline cool it" as she tapped on the snowman's shoulders. "I thought it was you two, meet the the abominable snowman Steven and Pepito!"

Steven said "Ole"

Chloe said "Steven and Pepito that was not funny!"

Miss Clavel said "Now you should be able to sleep, you will have a lot of snow to play in tomorrow."

All the girls said "Bonne nuit, goodnight dear Miss Clavel!"

Madeline said "Bonne nuit Monsieur Snowman"

Pepito said "Grr, that's how monsters say good night Mademoiselle!"

As they all laughed

Narrator: The new fallen layer of precipitation exceeded every expectation.

Madeline "Yo hoo!"

Chloe said "Madeline where are you?"

Madeline throws a snowball.

Narrator: The air was crisp, the sky was fair, but Hilda warned them to beware.

Hilda said "Ouch!"

Narrator: For she sensed trouble in the air.

Narrator: Graceful and confident on her skates, Madeline carved prefect figure eight.

Nicole said "Bravo Madeline!"

All the girls "Ohh, ahh!"

Narrator: Everyone thought this was quite fine, Genevieve skated number nine, the dog could glide with such precision she could even skate in long division. She tried her hardest as she was able, Miss Clavel remained unstable.

Miss Clavel said "Ahh there I have it!"

Narrator: Their favorite teacher did her best, but in the end she has to rest.

Miss Clavel said "Merci little one, I think that it's time for me to go back home and have some tea."

All the Girls said "Au revoir, goodbye!"

Hans said "Now my friends, what would you like to do next?"

All the girls said "Everything!"

Madeline

Give us snow!

I dream about a blanket,

A blanket that's not warm,

It's the blanket we see on the ground,

After a winter storm!

All the girls

Give us snow,

white white snow

Give us snow!

Hans

Snow de lay dee oh

Oh oh oh

Snow, white snow!

Pepito

I dream of putting on my skis

And shushing down the slope!

Steven

So when I feel the first snowflake

It lightens me with hope!

Girls

Give us snow,

white white snow

Give us snow!

Nicole

I dream of building a snowman

To join me on my sled!

Then we'll skate around the frozen pond

Til it's time to go to bed.

Girls

Give us snow,

white white snow

Give us snow!

Hans

Snow de lay dee oh

Oh oh oh

Snow, white snow!

Girls

Give us snow!

The next morning

Hans said "We are almost at the top Genevieve!"

Genevieve barks

Madeline said "Genevieve hear something? Listen!"

Pepito said "It is the abominable snowman, I knew it!"

Hans said "No Pepito, I am afraid it is something much worse!"

All the twelve girls said "Much worst? What could it be- oh no!"

Hans said "An avalanche!"

All the girls gasped

Hans said "Do not panic, get into the sled! Hang on my friends!"

Madeline said "Do not worry Genevieve, we will make it I hope. Oh Riley, you and Steven are lucky to have stayed with Miss Clavel!"

Narrator: They zoom downhill, and zipped down the trail with the deadly avalanche right on their tail.

Hans said "Okay everyone lean left!"

All the girls said "Woah!"

Madeline said "We made it Genevieve!"

Miss Clavel counted "Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze, treize quatorze, quinze!"

Miss Clavel said "Très bien my little ones are safe!"

Riley said "Madeline where did you all come from?"

Madeline said "We rode down the hill"

Steven said "We must have slept in this morning, it was warm under the covers"

Hilda said "But the road is blocked!" Hans telephones for help so we can be found.

Steven said "If the abominable snowman doesn't find us first."

All the girls throw their mitts.

Steven giggled.

Riley said "Steven let's dress now, we have snow to play in"

An hour later

As the girls were playing

Narrator: Hilda was serving Gingerbread when a flustered Hans came in and said.

Hans said "The telephone lines, they are all dead!"

Chloe said "Oh no, we shall be stranded forever!"

Miss Clavel said "Do not worry Chloe, a rescue team is sure to find us!"

Chloe said "But that was our last Gingerbread!"

Inside after dinner, Hilda said "And so-"

Narrator: Two days passed as they try to stay cheerful, Aunt Hilda told stories by the earful, and the boys were still quite fearful.

Steven said "Mom and dad must be worried about us"

Pepito said "Yes"

Riley said "Madame Hilda s'il te plaît, tell us another story!"

Hilda said "Well there is one about-gasp!"

Pepito said "What is that?"

Riley said "What is that noise?"

Madeline said "Do you hear it? Air planes, they are here to rescue us!"

All the girls cried "Down here, help us down here!"

Narrator: But the sound of the propellers soon diminished until they were completely finished; Then the minutes crawled by, the wait seemed long, then Madeline said.

Madeline said "Let us try a song!"

Nicole said "I do not feel like singing"

Riley said "Then how about yodeling?"

Hans said "Yodeling? Yeah the pilots might be able to hear it"

Madeline conducted her friends.

Twelve girls, Steven, Pepito, and Hans

Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo,

Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo,

As plants break.

Steven and Pepito, and the girls, and Hans

Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo,

Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo,

Narrator: From their throat's came rousing notes that no one seemed hear.

Danielle said "Look!"

Nicole said "Regardé!"

Narrator: But goats!

Back inside

Miss Clavel said "Keep your chin up mes petites, the plane will return soon!"

Narrator: When all seemed bleakest with despair, Riley noticed a shiny pair of ice skates hanging on a chair.

Riley said "C'est bon, that is it!" as she cartwheeled, this is how they will get their attention.

Narrator: Riley explaining her intentions.

Miss Clavel said "Très bien Riley, it is a wonderful plan!"

As the girls skate in two straight lines.

Miss Clavel said "Très bien!"

Narrator: In two straight lines upon the ice, they followed Riley's advice carefully, and when finished, they carved three letters "SOS", the international signal of distress. Hilda began to point and cheer.

Hilda said "The planes are back, they are coming here!"

Narrator: The aircraft made their spirits sore.

All the girls shouted "Yeah, they are here, we are saved! Ohh!"

Narrator: But then it was quiet, they hear nothing more.

Miss Clavel said "They will return, you will see"

Hilda said "Come, I should make some Chamomile tea!"

Chloe said "Now we are certain to be here forever"

Madeline said "Chloe that is not so"

Chloe said "Madeline how do you know?"

Nicole said "Why is it Riley that you, and Madeline are never afraid at the same time?"

Riley said "Nicole, sometimes I do feel afraid just like you, and you Madeline"

Nicole said "You do"

Madeline said "But I never give up hope"

Narrator: Then everybody turned around, they heard a very frightened sound, crushing footsteps in the snow were approaching very slow, but a gust of wind; the door open wide, and two large creatures stepped inside.

Steven said "The abominable snowman, hide!"

Narrator: The snowman stomped their heavy feet, and off came the snow, and ice and sleet.

Madeline said "These monsters have no clue"

Chloe said "They are wearing boots"

Nicole said "And mitts"

Danielle said "And ski masks"

Riley said "It is the rescue patrol!"

Chloe said "Look they have supplies!"

Nicole said "And a snowplow!"

Narrator: Riley's message on the ice proved a life saving device, the pilot saw the SOS, and made the call to send the ground patrol to find them all.

Miss Clavel said "Merci Riley!"

Hilda said "Well done Riley!"

Narrator: Riley and Madeline's hope and their persistence had brought the group these fine assistants, Hilda said as she sweeped the floor.

Hilda said "That's all there is, there isn't anymore!"

As the girls giggled
