Narrated by Christopher Plummer

In an old house in Paris, that was covered in vines,

lived thirteen little girls, in two straight lines.

They left the house at half past nine,

in two straight lines,

in rain or shine.

The older one was Riley, and the smallest was Madeline.

Miss Clavel said "What is this special surprise you are taking us too mes petites?"

Riley said "If we told you, it wouldn't be a surprise!" giggles

Madeline said "Quickly!"

Narrator: Madeline danced,and skipped with mischief, and glee, then called to the others.

Riley said "come follow us!"

Narrator: The little girls just had to scurry, for Riley and Madeline was in such a hurry.

Madeline said "We must not be late, but don't worry amies, I and Riley know a shoutcut"

Narrator: Down the sidewalk they ran with lighting quick feet, they look like blur as they dash down the streets; then they enter the shop where Chef Pier, the baker's sweet pastries, cookies and fresh chocolate cakes.

Chloe said "oh Riley and Madeline this is a surprise, a visit to the bakery!"

Riley said "No no no, our surprise is this way, come quickly!"

Chef Pier watched the breaking news.

Kim said "We are still looking for two little girls, one oldest named Riley Lily Fogg who has black hair, and blue eyes, and the smallest is Madeline Oliver Fogg who has red hair and blue eyes. Please if you had seen them call the Fogg house number at 1 800 759 3000 please."

Amy said "If you see my and Paul's daughters, call us; they both love animals"

Paul said "If you see any clothes they are wearing, please remember it"

Kim said "Thank you, back to you Michel"

Chef Peir said "Riley and Madeline could be the missing girls!"

Madeline said "See, voila!"

Miss Clavel said "The Cinema!"

Riley said "Yes, they are showing today the new Holly, and Sugar Dimples movie!"

All the eleven girls said "Holly and Sugar Dimples, our favorite actress! What a surprise!"

Heidi said "Oh Laddie, we must find dear grandpapa before the snow comes!"

Karen said "Heidi, please we will be fine including him, just keep moving forward before our Uncle catches us!"

Narrator: They sit in darkness, eyes glued to the screen, sobbing and weeping at every sad scene, and munching on bon bons so good in between.

Karen said "Grandpa, you are safe!"

Heidi said "Now we can go home, and live happily ever after!"

Madeline said "That was Sugar and Holly Dimples, best picture of all!"

All the girls said "Oui we agree!"

Narrator: At the very same time on Champs Elysses, two men sip their coffee at an outdoor café; One was a famous movie director, the other his assistant was known as Hector.

Man said "What brings you to Paris Mr. Flemming?"

Mr. Flemming said "My Sugar and Holly Dimples is all about France!"

Hector said "Yes, we are here looking for new talent!"

Man said "Talent hmmm..." Juggles

Narrator: Not far away in fact right next door, the little girls played around the big sycamore tree.

Riley said "Holly and Sugar Dimples is mine and Madeline's favorite star in the whole wide world, we have seen every one of there movie pictures!"

Chloe said "My favorite movie was when they played the ballerinas!"

Madeline said "I like the movie when they played the brave princesses!"

Danielle said "Oh yes that's what I liked also"

Madeline said "Remember she was all alone, she had to escape from the evil black knight"

Narrator: Madeline ran and she tranced all about, she knew the whole part, and she acted out.

Madeline gasped

Madeline said "And then gets a ride by jumping on the crocodiles!" Snorts

Narrator: Madeline's jumps was simply amazing, and the part that she played was truly hair raising.

Madeline said "Pardon moi Monsieur, I apologize"

Flemming said "I want that girl's name"

Riley said "Look Sir, my sister says she was sorry, now if your friend would have watched where he was going, he would have saw my sister now would he? Well?"

Miss Clavel said "Riley please, but there is no damage done I assure you. She is very sorry"

Madeline said "Oui Miss Clavel"

Flemming said "Young lady this is your lucky day!"

Riley said "I do not understand, weren't you just mad earlier?"

Flemming said "You too? And just what I been searching for all over Paris to be in my next Sugar and Holly Dimples movies"

Madeline said "Me? You want me to be in the Cinema?"

Riley said "Non, me Maddie!"

Flemming said "Yes to you both!"

Miss Clavel clears her throat

Flemming said "Only if you approve of course"

Miss Clavel said "Hmm"

Narrator: Would she say yes, or would she say no?

Miss Clavel said "Well if only we can all go"

All the girls said "Yes yes!"

Here's that boulevard, that very famous street its the perfect place to come and dip your feet! Pawn-trees stand so high they almost touch the hills!

Everyone who comes here brings along a dream, weather's always warm enough for cold ice cream! Costumes feel the street, just like a big parade!

Narrator: They cheered, and they clap, and hip hip hooray when they got to the place where the movies were made.

All the girls said "Ohh"

Chloe said "Regardé, so many movie stars!"

All the girls said "Ahh"

Chloe said "He is so handsome!"

Madeline said "May oui, but where is my favorite movie star of all, Sugar Dimples?"

Sugar Dimples said "I won't wear this dreadful dress, these inky shoes hurt my feet!"

Madeline said "I wonder who could that be?"

Sugar Dimples said "Watch where you are going!"

Madeline said "Excuse moi?"

Sugar Dimples said "How dare you speak to me like that, I am Sugar Dimples!"

Madeline said "You are Sugar Dimples?"

Riley said "Who I wonder how Holly Dimples is acting?"

Madeline said "That was Suger Dimples"

Narrator: The girls was so shocked at what they had seen, she wasn't at all like the girl on the screen, in fact Sugar Dimples was really quite mean.

Hector said "You mustn't take it personally, Sugar Dimples treats everyone that way"

Riley said "Maybe she is just tired"

Hector said "No, she's just a little brat"

As the girls giggled

Hector said "Here we are, Holly Dimple's dressing room, she's been waiting on you Riley"

Riley said "No that alright really, one star is enough"

Holly said "Hello there, I see you have met my baby sister Sugar huh?"

Riley said "Well yes we have"

Holly said "Don't let my sister get to you, all this movie business is going into her head"

Héctor said "This is where you get your costume, oh and here are both scripts"

Riley said "I would love to come over, and stay the night Karen"

Holly said "That was fast, I didn't even say anything yet"

Hector said "Riley had you done acting?"

Riley said "No, it just comes easy to me" Actually"

Hector said "Alright Madeline your lines are circled in red"

All the girls said "Ohh ahh"

Narrator: In a room that was packed from ceiling to floor, there were gowns, wigs, kimonos and tutus galore.

Lady said "Which parts are you two playing?"

Riley said "One of Karen's friends, Kim"

Madeline said "I do not know, my parts are circled in red"

Lady looked though the script "Oh such a wonderful role, you are going to play Sugar Dimple's best friend Katie, it's a big part!"

All the girls said "Ohh!"

Madeline said "Magnifique, maybe I would become a star just like Sugar Dimples!"

Chloe said "It will be difficult to make believe you are her friend, now for Holly it is easy to be friends with her"

Madeline said "On contraire, I would not have to act like her friend, I will be really be her friend"

Narrator: The Movie Studio is a magical place, there is action, adventure, and even a changing scene.

Miss Clavel said "Goodness gracious, everywhere we turn there is something exciting to see!"

Riley gasped "My eyes, they are playing tricks!"

Narrator: Riley wondered, could this be?

Riley said "It would just like our own Paris giggle, Imagined we have come all the way to America to be back home in France"

Madeline said "Uh Riley, this is a set. That looks like Paris, see? There is no Old House"

Flemming said "Everybody get ready to film the first scene!"

Sugar said "Being a star is such a strain, if my silly fans only knew how hard we worked"

Holly said "Sugar stop, you heard what Dad and Mom told you, one more bad report from me and your career will be done. Hi Riley, hi Madeline"

Sugar said "Holly stop being nice to our silly fans"

Madeline said "It is going to be so much fun to play your best friend!"

Sugar said "I know you, you are that clumsy girl who bumped into me! You think you are playing my friend, ha!"

Madeline said "That is what it says in my script"

Sugar said "Look at the script? They give you the wrong script, you are playing my French maid!"

Madeline said "Your maid?"

Sugar said "It is a very small part, see just two lines"

Madeline read "I will do my best, but I would still be your friend"

Sugar said "You want to be my friend? Ha ha see you on set Maddie!"

Riley said "Holly you have do something, excuse moi about your brat of a sister, she bumped into my sister, and blamed her for it"

Holly said "I am sorry about my little sister Riley, but she hates the dark; I know just the room to put her in, well left me in charge of Sugar for the day, so what I say goes" ha ha ha

Narrator: The time was approaching for Madeline's big um... small scene.

Miss Clavel said "You must bow, say oui Madame, and dust, and mop, and clean"

Madeline said "I hope I get it right, I'm so nervous"

Danielle said "We know you can do it!"

Chloe said "We have faith in you"

Madeline said "That does make a difference to have friends"

Nicole said "A curl here"

Chloe said "A curl there"

All the girls said "Brush, brush, brush"

Miss Clavel said "A pat here, a pat there, and Voila!"

All the girls said "How lovely!"

Nicole and Chloe said "Yes how perfect!"

Madeline said "Merci beaucoup, now I am ready for my scene"

Flemming said "Lights, cameras, everybody clear the set, and action!"

Ashley said "What a lovely day Marie"

Madeline said "Oui Madame"

Ashley said "I am off to invite all the poor children to have holiday dinner with me"

Madeline said "Oui Madame"

Karen said "Hey sis meet Kim, one of my friends from school who's sharing Holiday dinner, and sleepover with me tonight. Marie, is the guest room made?"

Madeline said "Oui Madame Karen"

Ashley said "No fair, I was going to invite all the poor children over for the holidays with us!" as she bumped into a vase.

Flemming said "Cute"

Sugar said "Look at what you made me do, you little amateur!"

Madeline said "But I"

Hector said "No problem, we will replace the vase and shoot the scene again, Madeline your lines was prefect, no mess ups"

Sugar said "It's all her fault! I don't want her in MY movie! Fire her!"

Madeline said "Fire me, this is not fair"

Holly said "Sugar Dimple's, come with me right now"

Sugar said "But Holly what about the movie scene?"

Holly said "Sugar will you knock it off, you been nothing but mean, snobbish and bratty towards other people. You are to stay in this chair until I come and get you, understand?"

Sugar said "But Holly I..."

Holly said "No buts, I will be talking to mom and dad about you tonight, you aren't wiggling your way out of this one; I will be back later, bye!"

Riley said "Way to go Holly, but I have to go catch up to my sister, see ya alright?"

Holly said "Riley come with me, I have to check on the car, come on you can be my helper"

Riley said "Holly what are you up too?"

Holly said "You will see an oil pan under alright, now stand back" as she uncap the oil which spilled onto the pan, and put the cap back on "There done, let give our little sisters some time to work out there problems. Come, I will buy you lunch"

Riley said "Sounds good to me, I can go for a burger and fries"

Holly said "Alright, you are right up my ally Riley"

Narrator: Madeline was sad, and she was blue, but there wasn't a thing that she could do.

Chloe said "Do not feel bad Madeline"

Madeline said "And to think I thought she was so wonderful"

Danielle said "I never really liked her movies anyways"

All the girls said "Me neither!"

Madeline said "I am here to return my movie costume, good bye costume, au revoir! Riley ready to go? Riley where did ran off to? Riley come on it is time to go, Riley?"

All the eleven girls said "Madeline surprendre"

Madeline said "What are you doing?"

Chloe said "You seem so sad, we wanted to see our Madeline smile again!"

Madeline said "How can I not smile when I have such silly friends!" laughs

Danielle said "We have a costume for you to wear!"

Chloe said "Walk this way Madeline!"

Nicole said "We bring two big shiny shoes, and a colorful costume"

Chloe said "and ruffles"

Danielle said "and a wig"

All the girls said "and to top it off, chapeau"

Madeline laughed "Oh I am a clown!"

Danielle said "You must have a big red nose!"

Chloe said "and a smile of a clown!"

Miss Clavel said "What a funny funny clown I see!"

Madeline said "It is Miss Clavel"

Miss Clavel said "So it is, you certainly fool me me petite"

Madeline said "That was fun, I feel better now"

Miss Clavel said "Dear me it is time to leave, you must wash off the clown face toot sweet"

Madeline said "I will go to the make up room, and wash it off there. Miss Clavel is Riley with you?"

Miss Clavel said "No, oh dear, I will put in a word for Riley, it is almost time to leave!"

Madeline said "Who is that?"

Madeline entered, and followed the sound, and to her surprise look who she found.

Madeline said "She looked sad, I must do something to cheer her up"

Sugar said "Is somebody there? Holly? Riley?"

Madeline said "I am a clown"

So Madeline was the clown, and danced, and wiggled until very soon Sugar broke out in a giggle.

Sugar giggled "You sure are a funny clown!"

Madeline the clown said "I'm happy I made you laugh, but why were you crying?"

Sugar said "I have million of fans, but I don't have one real friend, that french girl has thirteen friends"

Madeline the clown said "If you wish to have a friend, you must be a friend"

Sugar said "It is not that easy"

Madeline the clown said "But it is, you should try it"

Sugar said "You mean just walk up to someone, and say I want to be your friend?"

Madeline the clown said "Yes, it is as simpler as that, just hold out your hand, and don't forgot to smile"

As the door opened, the man said "There you are, they are waiting for you on the set"

Sugar said "Coming, I was just talking to the clown, she is gone!"

Miss Clavel said "Hurry Madeline, we are ready to leave, and Riley you must not wonder off again"

Madeline said "Do we really have to?"

Miss Clavel said "I am afraid so"

The big limo came to take them away, even though Madeline wanted to stay.

Miss Clavel said "I am sorry Madeline, that it did not turn out as you had hoped"

Chloe said "Everything would have been perfection if Sugar Dimples wasn't such a brat"

Madeline said "Oh I don't think so, maybe she is not so bad"

All thirteen girls said "What is that, something is wrong!"

Hector said "Oh uh... Engine troubles"

Miss Clavel said "What seems to be the matter Monsieur Hector?"

Hector said "Nothing serious, but it will take a while to fix"

Danielle said "Must we just sit and wait?"

Chloe said "With nothing to do!"

Riley said "I think Genevieve has found a solution, we can play dodge ball!"

The girls ran and jumped, having fun over there. The two childen actors headed there way.

Madeline said "Pardon moi Sugar Dimples, it was an accident"

Sugar said "Oh I am not angry, actually I'm glad you are still here, I'm sorry for the way I treated you, could we maybe be friends?"

Madeline said "Yes that would make us very happy"

Riley winked at Holly

Holly said "Well my plan worked like a charm"

Sugar said "Would you let me play with you?"

Madeline said "Of course"

For once in her life, Sugar Dimples felt free to run to skip, and jump, even climbed up a tree.

Flemming said "Hmm?"

Chloe said "Bon Madeline!"

Flemming said "You are a very brave little girl"

Madeline said "Thank you Monsieur director"

Flemming said "I think I know a way we could use your athletic abilities in the film!"

Madeline said "How is that?"

Flemming said "I would like you to be Sugar Dimple's stunt double!"

Sugar said "We can work together!"

Madeline said "Magnifique!"

Flemming said "Cut, bring in the stunt double!"

Lady said "There you go now, you Look just like Sugar!"

Sugar said "Good luck Madeline!"

Madeline said "Merci"

Flemming said "Places everybody, camera and action!"

Many months late in fact almost a year, it was the time for the Parisian premiere.

In two straight lines, they left the scene no longer thirteen, but now fifteen.

Madeline said "And tomorrow, I will take you to visit the real Eiffel Tower!"

Sugar said "This is the most wonderful vacation I have ever had with all our new friends!"

Riley said "Well our sister, and are friends!"

Holly said "Yes, but this the best vacation ever!"

They entered the old house with two new friends they adored, and that's all there is there isn't anymore
