In a world where strange abilities exist, a young man acquires the power to turn anything he wishes into gold- a power that represents his inner greed. Rising up in the world and climbing up the ranks to be his own boss of a team of carefully selected members, the man known as Midas is a cunning force to be reckoned with and perhaps one of if not the most powerful man in the world. Greedy for heads as much as he is for money, he has a whole trophy wall dedicated to the fallen agents that had suffered under his golden touch.
But when he meets the pure and innocent Rosemary "Rosie" Black who has no evil desire in her heart, he wonders what makes the girl want to so desperately be involved in the agency that has sacrificed and killed lives in a never ending war. His world is a dangerous one and he is not a nice man, but he can't help but be tempted to taint her with his touch. And likewise, she can't help but be drawn to the man who has a heart of gold deep down.
This story will have two parts to it (each part having twenty to thirty chapters, two books in one basically and I plan to make it full length so as of now it's not finished) and is read as an x OC story (apologies to those who do not like OCs)! It will contain theories (which you may or may not agree with in which case do not hate just because it's not canon, it's an AU and a fanfiction for a reason), some smut (but mostly plot), meaningful symbolism (which will be explained in author's notes), and dark content for some such as violence and angst. There will be warnings before each chapter that contains the mature content. This story will also include bonus and extra chapters not shown in the main story. Since this story was written/planned before anything on Fortnite was confirmed (Fortnite has a very vague storyline hence the theories), the first three chapters may appear wrong and perhaps others will seem wrong too but then it goes into a really cool spy plot to put everything back on track which I will not spoil on here (the spoiler can be found on Wattpad though). Other than that, I do not really care if this story ends up being completely off to the canon storyline (if Fortnite ever has one) because in the end I will have a version where the story will be stripped of its fanfiction elements and made into an original book, in which case then it won't matter, lol. This story will have a happy ending and fulfilling story for Midas. It's how I would've written his story, and I'm sure those who wanted Midas to receive better would like it! All that said, enjoy!
