Title: Persona Universal World
Chapter One: The Beginning of SEES
The first day of the new timeline started with Tatsuya Suou waking up with a gasp. Remembering the dream from last night he found a blue key in his hand. "It wasn't a dream…" He realized and ran to the room his brother had in their two-bedroom apartment. It honestly reminded him of when he was little and had a nightmare.
Katsuya was already up and dressed has per the norm in the household. Even though Katsuya's new boss had given him some time off after the JOKER case he still woke up at his normal time out of habit.
"Oh, good morning Tatsuya. Are you feeling alright?" The older of the Suou brothers asked. Tatsuya shook his head, there was a lot that he had just remembered and a lot of information to process. "Certainly not. Don't worry about school. There still closed and I still have a few days before I have to return to work. Why don't you take the day to relax, and I'll tell Maya to take care of your friends? They already have the day off anyway due to the whole JOKER incidents."
"Yeah, I think that's a good idea… Whatever that Philemon guy did to make sure I get all that information gave me a headache. I'm… gonna go lay back down… There's a LOT I need to think about." The younger Suou brother said with a hand on his forehead.
"That's probably for the best. If you need anything I'll be in here looking though the contents of that book Philemon gave us. I'm sure you have a lot of questions… so why don't you take some time to sort them out." The older of the two smiled softly. The younger nodded and went back to his room. Meanwhile the Kei Nanjo was on his way to visit the head of one the companies his own worked with. The news was broadcasting news of an incident on the moonlight bridge in Iwatodai.
"There was a car accident right at midnight last night at the moonlight bridge one car had mysteriously crashed without an explanation. Two people died has a result. They have been confirmed has Makoto Arisato and his wife Hamuko Arisato. They are known for their relations to the famous Shirogane detectives. Mrs. Arisato being from the Shirogane family herself. Both of their children were in fact riding with them at the time of the incident. Both are alive and well it is believed that their aunt and uncle are planning to take them in." The reporter said rambling on about the incident.
"Goodness couldn't they have a bit more tact? They just lost their parents after all…" Eriko his girlfriend commented with a sigh. She and Kei had started dating after Naoya started dating Maki a few days after Kei transfer to England.
"Unfortunately, that's the way it is with the media. Their always more concerned with getting a good story then the wellbeing of the people they interview. It's quite upsetting really. I wonder if we can do something to help them?" Kei wondered.
"We did open up that new scholarship program with St. Hermelin's and Yasogami's middle schools. Why don't you offer them a scholarship there? In fact, we could do one better if we can finish working on that scholarship for Gekkoukan. That way they wouldn't have to be far from their old home. That is, if they want to be…" Eriko suggested.
"I suppose that could be one way we can help them. That reminds me isn't Naoya going to be the next principle of Gekkoukan? I hear he's having Maki be his vice principal and school counselor." Eriko said in thought.
"Yes, that's correct. Oh, it looks like we've arrived." Kei said has he looked outside. They exited the helicopter they were riding to the Kirijo family mansion. There at the entrance was a man in his late thirties to early forties .
"Hello Nanjo. It has been quite some time since we met last." Takeharu greeted.
"Yes it has. How have you and your daughter been? I believe she's just turned eight a few weeks ago?" Kei replied with a smile. At the mention of his daughter Takeharu seemed to frown for a moment.
"Yes, that's correct. She's been doing well in her studies." Takeharu smiled softly. But Kei and Eriko could see something was bothering him. Suddenly they heard a scream from inside the mansion. "Mitsuru!?" Takeharu called out for his daughter.
The group ran inside the mansion. To find some of the servants on the ground and a Kobold which was a wolf like demon. It was standing over an eight-year-old Mitsuru who look frightened. It was about to bring its mace down on her when Eriko summoned her persona, Gabriel. Gabriel attacked the demon and slayed it instantly. Eriko, Kei and Takeharu ran up to Mitsuru.
"Mitsuru are you alright?!" Takeharu asked his daughter worriedly. Mitsuru nodded still frightened and looked at the woman who had saved her. Eriko smiled at her softly. Mitsuru seemed to relax around her.
"It's alright now… I'm Kirishima Eriko. You must be Mitsuru. It's nice to meet you." Eriko smiled softly. It seemed to help her calm down.
"How did you do that? You summoned a persona outside of the dark hour…" Takeharu questioned. This prompted Kei and Eriko to explain the events of their time at St. Hermelin and the recent JOKER case.
"Fascinating, to think there are others who have the potential and have instances of having to use it against shadows." Takeharu commented, they had sat down in the parlor drinking some tea while the servants cleaned up all the evidence of the incident.
"Indeed. Are you a persona user has well Takeharu?" Kei asked out of curiosity.
"No, but Mitsuru is. She's just awoken to it's power a week ago now. Her persona is called Penthesilea." Takeharu replied looking at Mitsuru worriedly.
"I see… maybe we can help her learn to summon it here in the real world. That way if another demon comes or a shadow somehow shows up outside of the dark hour then she will be able to protect herself." Eriko suggested. Takeharu agreed to this quickly hoping that his daughter would have a higher chance of surviving on the battlefield.
Over the next few years Eriko trained Mitsuru on how to summon Personas in the real world. She also taught Mitsuru how to use a rapier sword. Mitsuru would also spend many hours with her outside of training. She often referred to the older woman has her "Auntie Eriko" because of how close they became. She also learned about the occult from her too. Overall Eriko was like a mother figure to the young girl.
Soon enough Mitsuru was in middle school. She had come up with the idea for a dorm to act has a HQ of sorts. A dorm manager was hired to supervise the "club activities." Her father and the chairmen of the schools in their district approved of it easily. On paper the dorm was known has the "Student Exceptional External Situations dorm." It was for students from every level of the district.
The manager of the dorm was known has Satomi Narukami. She was a woman in her late 30's. She had long sliver hair tied in a low ponytail and Light blue eyes with a fair skin tone. She wore a blue flower in her hair that looked like a rose, a slightly dark blue shirt, matching long skirt that went down to her knees trimmed in white. She also wore a matching white jacket over her shirt and sandals that had a black rose on them. To complete the look, she wore a black belt with a gold buckle, a gold necklace with a blue heart gem and gold earrings. She had poor vision, so she wore a pair of blue trimmed glasses.
Eriko walked with Mitsuru to her new dorm a week before she started middle school. "This dorm looks rather nice Mitsuru. I think you'll like living here. I hear that the manager has her husband and her two children living with her I also know that my friend Tatsuya's foster son Goro will be staying there has well. He's staying their while Tatsuya deals with some missions for the Nanjo and Kirijo groups.
"Yes, father told me about that before he had to leave for that conference with one of the directors. He told me they had the potential. I wonder what they will be like?" Mitsuru wondered in thought.
"I don't know the others, but I do know Goro. I've met him several times due to my work with his Tatsuya. He's… Bitter…" Eriko sighed softly thinking about what had occurred just a week ago.
"Bitter? What do you mean by that auntie Eriko?" Mitsuru asked softly. Eriko has to think carefully about what to say. She knew if the wrong person heard this conversation, it would hold dire consequences for the both of them.
"You know how… recently that woman was called out on the news for having a child has a teenager and not getting married to the father?" Eriko asked quietly. Mitsuru nodded. "Well, Goro is… sort of like that…"
"Oh… I see." Mitsuru understood she nodded and the two continued on their way to the dorm. It was only a half hour before they had finally made their way to the dorm. They walked in and saw the woman who was in charge of the dorm.
"Ah, hello their young lady, you must be Mitsuru. My name is Narukami Satomi. I'm the manager for this dorm. Welcome to SEES Hall. I hope that you'll enjoy your stay here." Satomi smiled at the middle schooler. She then gestured to the rest of the currant residence. "Allow me to introduce your dormmates." The first was a man Satomi's age with short black hair. "This is my husband Haruto. He will be managing the dorm with me. These two in front of us…" she trailed of looking down at two children who appeared to be twins "Are our children. Their names are Souji and Sora Narukami." While Souji looked like their father Sora looked like their mother when she was younger. "This might surprise you, but they might have the potential has well. Ah, and of course our youngest resident Akechi Goro. He's being fostered by a friend of your "aunt" and they believe that he has the potential has well. His foster parents will be visiting soon. We also have Chairmen Shuji Ikutsuki but he doesn't live here. He normally just visits."
"I see… it's a pleasure to meet all of you." Mitsuru smiled at the group. Haruto and Satomi then stepped forward had gave her a smile.
"It's a pleasure to meet you has well young Mitsuru. Me and my wife will show you to your room. Would you like me to take your luggage?" Haruto smiled at the heir to the Kirijo fortune.
"Yes please, thank you very much." Mitsuru smiled before turning to Eriko with a smile. "I hope you can visit soon Auntie Eriko. I know your work is keeping you busy."
"Don't worry I'll visit has soon as I can. Just make sure to get rid of that dark hour." Eriko smiled has she left. Has time went on the dorm gained more residence two more total. The first was a man named Shinjiro Aragaki and then there was his childhood friend Akihiko Sanada. The three of them formed a firm friendship throughout their middle school years. One day in their freshmen year of high school after their first semester had past, they were called into the fourth-floor meeting room of the dorm.
"Hello everyone, I apologize for the short notice regarding this meeting. This had only come to my attention a few minutes before you all came home." Satomi smiled at her children and her dorm residence. She cared a lot for these children, and she wasn't afraid to make sure someone who tried anything funny with them knew that.
"It's alright Mrs. Narukami. What's the purpose of this meeting?" Mitsuru asked the dorm supervisor.
"I've received a notice from the Chairmen. Starting after summer vacation we will be housing a new student either temporally or permanently depending on the circumstances. Though if the information's accurate enough then they will be housed here permanently." Satomi smiled.
"So, you believe that they have the potential has well?" Asked Akihiko with a smirk. Haruto nodded with a smile.
"That's right! That means while were determining if she has it or not, she'll be living here in our dorm. By the way while were on the topic of living arrangements Akihiko, Shinji can I ask you to with some help getting her temporary room ready?"
"Sure, just show us where she's staying." Shinjiro sighed knowing that the man was going to have them help disassemble and clean the bed and other room preparations. That also meant that it was likely they would order take out that night. Since he and Mrs. Narukami were the best cooks in the dorm with Souji and Sora tied for third.
Two days before the brake ended, they were called into the front room. A girl who appeared to be in her early teen years at 14 years of age with auburn hair and matching eyes was standing next to Satomi. "Everyone, this is Arisato Minako. She will be living here with us has of today. Be sure to try and get along with her now. Arisato-San? Would you like to introduce yourself to everyone?" Satomi smiled at the girl.
"Hey their everyone! I'm Arisato Minako, I'm a middle schooler in the 9th grade. I'm from Inaba but I was actually born here in Iwatodai. I… don't really want to talk about my old school…" Minako said with a smile.
"That's alright, I'm Kirijo Mitsuru, I'm a student at Gekkoukan High. It's nice to meet you." Mitsuru smiled politely trying to hide a frown. She had recently heard of a scandal about a school in Inaba. A middle school to be exact. Could she have been from that school? Come to think of it, the news did say that a bunch of girls were bulling a student and got away with it because one of their parents worked for the school board and took bribes from the parents. Even going has far has to spread a rumor about the girl.
The rest of the students introduced themselves after that she was shown to her room and left to unpack. That night the adults in the dorm watched over her in the control room. "Alright, the dark hour will begin in a few minutes. So far everything is normal. She's awake at the moment doesn't appear to be ted at the moment." Satomi said looking at the camera.
"She's looking at the clock has if expecting something. I wonder if it's possible that she's already past the point of confusion. Initially the person being affected has very little memory of the dark hour because of how disoriented they become and often pass it off has a dream. You've been quite Katsuya, something up?" Tatsuya asked looking over to his brother.
"Oh sorry, it's just… I'm worried about Goro." Katsuya frowned in worry. Tatsuya didn't need to voice his brother's thoughts for them to be heard.
"Will just have to keep an eye on him for now. Dose Maya know about this? She's not here and we need to figure out a schedule for monitoring Arisato." Haruto smiled reassuringly.
"I told her about it has soon has I found out. I don't want him to get mixed up in Him. He already went though enough in the… other world and we don't even know the scope of it." Katsuya explained.
"Right, it only told us about the people involved with the other world specking of we need to figure out how to deal with the chairman. That book only told us about the enemies that we'll be facing and the potential persona users." Tatsuya nodded sheepishly.
"For now, we must focus on Arisato. We have 30 seconds to midnight. She's still looking at the clock. We should be good to go." Satomi warned Suddenly the lights on everything except the computer in that room turned off.
"So, it begins once more. The hidden hour that we are currently dealing with. What's the verdict so far on Arisato?" Katsuya asked looking at the screen.
"So far her vitals are normal. She's looking down and reading a book now. There is one oddity though. She doesn't seem to be experiencing any of the usual symptoms that people who are new to the dark hour show." Haruto noted.
"It's likely that she could have been experiencing this for about a year now. Her legal guardians noted that she seemed to teleport somewhere suddenly at midnight. That's what the dark hour would look like to an outsider. They said that this has been going on for about a year now." Satomi said looking at her file.
"Oh, guys look she's on the move." Tatsuya pointed out. They looked at the screen and saw that she was looking around her room.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to this…" Minako started. "It's just too weird and there's something strange about this dorm. I mean I know from the pamphlet I was sent that this dorm is for students with unusual situations but why is there a house connected to it? Wait a minute…" She said looking at the camera.
"Huh? This camera's working… No electric equipment works during this time… How in the world?" Minako frowned for a moment. "I think I have a new lead in my investigation." Over the next week Minako started to question the residence of the dorm. That is until it was time for her to join SEES.
"So, you're saying that you're looking for people to join you so that you can end this "Dark Hour" huh. Alright count me in!" Minako smiled.
"Minako-Niichan are you sure?" Sora asked her friend. Minako had become good friends with the Narukami twins. This was because they went to the same school.
"Sure I am, this is the best lead that I've had in a long time. I've spent the last few years trying to figure out what this "Dark Hour" is about and I final got a lead. So of course, I'm gonna take it to the end." Minako smiled from their everything went fine until 2007 October 4th. It was an ordinary night for SEES Except for the fact that Shinjiro had gotten captured by a mysterious group of people who Mitsuru found out were once a part of the Kirijo group. They had given him a drug that made his persona go berserk which ended up killing Keiko Amada.
"MOM!" Ken, her son had seen everything happen. In the previous timeline he hated Shinjiro for killing his mother. But this time he saw the persona from the moment it went berserk and could tell that the teenager wasn't in control. He saw the pain in his eyes and the man who was laughing has it all happened, and the persona user's friend desperately trying to help him it hurt him to watch.
The young boy turned to the mad scientist and yelled. "You caused this. Didn't you?! You killed her! You made whatever that guy tried to summon go berserk! I won't let you get away with this!" Ken yelled has blue flames.
"No way! Another persona user at this age? But he already has much better control over it then Goro dose." Mitsuru gasped. She had been standing next to Akihiko who was trying to help Shinjiro deal with the side effects of the drug that made his persona go rouge.
"Shit. Looks like I'll have to retreat for now. AH, well I'll just retrieve the subject later." The made scientist said has he left before the remaining members of SEES. Ken passed out after that and within the coming weeks he joined the group. It was easy to get custody for him due to the fact that his aunt lived across the country and didn't want him. Mitsuru also arranged for him to have counseling sessions with her school's counselor Maki Narumi thanks to the fact that she was friends with the now Eriko Nanjo.
Tatsuya was his official legal guardian though. He had actually transferred from his old place at Kounan Police Department due to a program and so that he could be closer to Katsuya who was currently sergeant at Iwatodai's Police station where he works now has a detective. Their house was right next to the dorm and after some reconstruction had a passage connecting the two were the two brothers and their families lived.
The two brothers actually found out that the Goro and Ken were cousins after a conversation between the two shortly after Ken had moved into the dorm. "So, your mom what was she like Akechi-Kun?" Ken asked his newly adopted cousin.
"She was a nice woman. Her name was Meiko. I don't know my father and frankly I want to keep it that way." Goro smiled.
"Wait you said your mother's name was Meiko? Meiko Akechi?" Ken asked softly. Goro nodded in confirmation. "My mom. Her name was Keiko Amada but her maiden name… It was Akechi. Think there might be some connection?"
Goro was shocked for a moment. Come to think of it… Didn't his mother say he had an aunt under the name of Keiko? He also recalled that they had met once at a park for a family reunion when he was five and that she had a son his age named Ken.
"Ken? Did you attend a family reunion with your mom when you were five? March 17th?" Goro asked the other brown-haired boy.
"Yeah! Now I remember you're her son. Were cousins!" Ken smiled softly they both smiled happy with the fact that they had family both blood related, and non-blood related alike nearby.
Overall, everyone in the dorm lived happily aside from fighting shadows and waiting for some more people who were a bit older to join their group before exploring Tartarus due to the high shadow presence detected and the concern of the younger ones falling asleep during an exploration.
"Hey Mitsuru Senpai, how do you feel about living here in the dorm?" Minako asked her friend with a smile. Over the years Mitsuru and Minako became close friends.
"It's pleasant. I can't say I don't miss home. But the dorm dose have a comforting atmosphere." Mitsuru smiled pleasantly. "Why are you asking me this?"
"You'll find out at dinner." Was all that Minako replied with. At dinner Satomi smiled and rang a bell to signal everyone to wait before eating. She told everyone that Minako had an announcement to make. "Hey guys, I'm going to be transferring schools in a few weeks."
"What?! Why?! Where are you transferring to?" Was some of the most common questions that were asked. "I'll start with why I'm transferring. You see… for those of you who don't know, I have a twin brother named Minato. He went missing sometime ago but they've found him. So, my aunt and uncle want me to come home to catch up with him and help him eventually transfer here. I'll only be gone for the rest of this year and Spring vacation. I'll be back once Spring vacation is over.
"I see. I wish you could stay with us Arisato, but your family is more important. I know that Gekkoukan is having an exchange program with Yasogami that's where you'll be attending, correct?" Mitsuru asked with a smile. Minako nodded and forced a smile. She didn't want to leave her friends.
The next morning Minako went to the train station with everyone. "Well, everyone… this is it for now. See you all soon." Minako tried to smile.
"See you soon Minako. Do your best in school alright?" Satomi smiled at her student.
"Hey! Be sure to bring back some souvenirs, okay?" Smiled Akihiko happily.
"Yeah, be sure to call too alright?" Sora smiled softly. Minako nodded and boarded the train to Inaba she smiled softly has she waved to her friends and the train took off.
