Okay! New chapter I hadn't gotten to yet. If you are a long-time reader, one, I am so sorry it took so long to update and two, please go back and read the other chapters. They have been updated, corrected and there is new story development and plot in it. Thank you so much for your patience and a new chapter should be out soon!
The concrete room was quiet. Silent even. Only the sounds of Raven's shaky breathing could be heard. And only heard by her. How long had Raven been in this loop? A few weeks? Perhaps it's been a month? She had no way to tell. No clock, no windows to see the outer world. The only thing she could go off of was how many times Slade had entered and the meals he gave her? At this point, Raven had counted six (maybe seven) days since her heat. That would mean she had been trapped under Slade's overbearing thumb for twelve days? Yet it felt like a decade since she arrived.
How often had she seen her capture per day? It would depend on how he felt. Some days he would bring her the simple meals, other times...
Raven took a deep breath. Letting out a shaky exhale, she sat up from her large bed. Doing everything she could to distract herself, Raven did a quick check of the room she was already well accustomed to. Large oval-shaped bed with red sheets? Check. Bathroom? Check? The enormous amount of baby-related items. Raven's stomach turned. Baby. Could Raven even get pregnant? Yes, demons were extremely fertile and her human side had a history of large families, but Raven was a half breed? Things should be different. Right?
What if Raven couldn't get pregnant? What would Slade do if she was deemed infertile? She shuddered at the thought.
Raven stood from her bed, the chains around her ankles rattling and scraping against her raw skin. Hissing at the pain, Raven sat at the edge of her bed, staring at the bookshelf on the other side of the room. She reached it once before but couldn't find a book that she would normally read. Only children's books and books on how to handle children. There were DVDs of children's shows and movies on the top shelves.
Sighing for the umpteenth time that day, Raven mumbled, "I'm not even sure these will ever be used."
"And why is that my caged little bird?" Slade chuckled from the doorway making the young woman jump and pull her knees to her chest.
"Why..." sucking in a deep breath, trying to hide her fear, "why are you here?" Her attempt was all but fruitful. She used to put fear in the hearts of many villains but now she could barely muster the strength to speak to one.
No. Slade wasn't just a villain. He was a monster. You are supposed to fear monsters. Aren't you?
"Now, my dear." Slade sauntered over to his frightened prisoner, making her crawl further onto the bed. "Is that any way to speak to the father of your future children?"
Raven glared at the one-eyed man, doing her best not to back down, "how do you even know I can have children. I'm a half-breed. Like a donkey, shouldn't that make me infertile?"
Slade chuckled, "You would think that but," grabbing one of Raven's chains, pulling her to him, Raven hissed, her rotting flesh now visible to her capture, "unlike the abomination an ass is, you are half-demon. Even your father is aware of your fertility." Slade looked at her ankles. "Now that's a problem." Slade reached for his back pocket, pulling out a small silver key to release her injured ankle. "If you can't walk, you can't care for our child." Slade grabbed the bandages and peroxide from the bathroom before returning to his caged bird. "You'll already be a pathetic excuse of a mother. This will only make it worse."
She huffed, trying to hide her fear. "If I'd be such a horrible mother, then why did you pick me."
Slade applied the peroxide to a cotton ball before cleaning Ravens injured ankle, chuckling when she pulled away in pain. "Do you know what happened when your father revived me? When I was given a second chance at life?" He eyed Raven, trying to find any emotion on her stoned face. Finding the fear hidden in her eyes, he continued. "He cursed me. My job was to capture you but," Wrapping her ankle, Slade re-chained it before repeating the process with her other ankle. "It had done more to me. Raven. The day I return to this world, my thoughts were filled with nothing but you." Looking into Raven's dark blue eyes, Slade leaned into her. "I would awake every morning with dreams of you." Softly kissing the corner of Raven's mouth, she let out a small gasp in surprise and Slade chuckled, "I would spend my days thinking of all the things I could do to you," Placing the metal cuff around Ravens wrapped ankle, Slade leaned over her small, battered frame, "I would think about the ways you would call my name," he whispered, placing a gentle kiss just below her ear, "your moans," sliding a hand up Ravens bruised leg, her breath hitched, "the way your body would bend to my will,"
Raven was frozen in place. Laying on her elbows, completely powerless to the one-eyed man above her. She was trapped. If Raven would give in, it would be another night of self-loathing. If she would refuse... Taking a deep breath, Raven turned her head to the side, closing her eyes as to not show the fear they held. "If..."
Slade's hand only reached further up, hovering just above her dark blue underwear. "If what, my dear?" Placing his index finger on her panties, Slade looked up at Raven, hearing her make a sound that was a mixture of a soft mewl and a whimper.
"If I was unable to bare you a child?" She whispered, "what would happen...?"
Slade pressed his finger harder into her, hearing Raven's breath hitch. She squirmed under him, trying to crawl away.
"If you were unable to bare me a child?" He chuckled darkly, "I can always take one of your little friends instead." Raven's eyes shot open, glaring daggers at her older assailant. "Maybe that Wonder Girl? She seems very powerful for such a young girl. Or maybe your oldest friend, Starfire?" He smirked at the glaring young woman, roughly grinding his finger against her panties, "but don't worry, my dear." Using his free hand to gently grip Raven's abused neck, making her grown in pain, "you will still be my favorite." Slade roughly shoved Raven to the bed, her body squirming under his weight.
"Slade you-"
"Shhh, my caged bird." Lightly squeezing her neck, Slade ground, "if you obey, I won't need to borrow one of your friends. Understand?" Raven took a deep breath, shutting her eyes.
Obey Slade to keep her friends safe? Be obedient? Raven was never a rebel but she sure as hell wasn't some obedient pet. But, if she disobeyed or couldn't live up to what Slade desired, she would be the reason a friend, a loved one, her only family, was forced to suffer alongside her. For a brief, selfish moment, Raven wanted that. If only so she wouldn't be alone. No. She could handle this. She could take the pain. The humiliation that comes with Slade's obedience. Her friends. Her family. They would save her. And besides, it's not like the pain would stop after he had her friend. No. It would only worsen...
Raven let out sharp gasps as Slade's grip tightened around her neck, feeling a soft breeze against her nether region, she looked up into Slade's pale blue, almost gray eye.
"Will you obey me, my sweet Raven? Or," roughly shoving his index finger into Raven's soft insides, she almost screamed, arching her back as Slade continued speaking, "would you like a friend to stay alongside you?"
Raven squirmed under his grasp, clinging to the sheets beneath them, "I'll obey you."
Slade's grip tightened on Raven's neck, the collar moving as if it was her skin. "You will bare me a child and you will raise it, yes?" Choking for air, she quickly nodded. "If you are going to obey me, prove it. Call my name. Beg for me. Ask for me before I ask for you. Do you understand?" Raven let out a weak sob, nodding furiously under his tight grip. "Starting today, you will do whatever I command. If you refuse me or disobey I will remind you of who I am." Slade's grip on Raven's neck loosened, making the young women turn her head to the side and cough. "Say it."
Raven took a few sharp breaths in before looking back at the man she was cursed to be with, "I will..." taking one last breath of air, Raven spoke, "I will obey you. And only you..." her words were like poison to her ears yet a beautiful song to his.
"Good girl," he smirked, his hand completely leaving her neck but not without fresh wounds. Removing his throbbing cock from his pants, Slade watched Raven as she struggled to breathe. He savored the look of fear in her eyes "Will you submit to me?" Removing his finger from her wet folds, Slade guided his head to her entrance.
Raven's face went cold, her body felt numb. "This was for the greater good." She told herself. It was to save anyone else from this hell. She had to. If she didn't then this pain would belong to someone else. Locking away all emotions she could, Raven looked Slade in the eye. Her once vibrant eyes dulled. Slade could have came from the very look. The look of hopelessness in her eyes filled his chest with a sensation that reminded him of feelings long passed. Feeling from when he was sane. But sanity left his mind as he watched Raven with great intent.
She gently spread her legs for him. Her lip quivered and her body ached. But she wouldn't let these feelings free. Not here and not know. She would play his game. And she would escape. "Only you." With those simple whispered words, Slade plugged himself into the frozen women beneath him, her back arching for him. The small whimper that escaped her lips was the only indication that she was still there. Not completely trapped in her mind. The vision of red showed itself again. But this time it seemed to linger. As if reaching out. The color seemed to ease her mind as Slade pushed her body to the edge.
Slade reviled in the sensation. He looked deep into her hallowed eyes. They seemed almost calm to him. Slade gripped her hips hard enough to bruise the bone, but not break. He would make sure she stayed in one piece. For now. Rocking himself inside her, the only sound that could be heard from the world were the sounds of her weak moans, his soft grunts, and the creaking of the oval bed. The frightful silence she endured, now seemed like a beautiful fantasy.
Jason walked through one of the many warehouses Slade kept under lock at key. One of Slade's higher-ups yapping away about poor trade in some country. Jason was tuning in and out. Not really caring about the shit spewing the fat man was doing.
"And get this," The fat man snorted, slicked back his greasy hair with greaser fingers, "them Saudis, ain't willin' to pay the price of-"
Jason lulled his head, "I don't care just get it done yo-" All the air from Jason's lungs seemed to vanish. He choked off his own words and fell to his knees.
"Red?" The lackey looked down at him. "You ain't lookin' too good. Need somethin'?"
Jason gagged, gripping at his throat. His vision swirled again with violets and blues. But something was different. Everything seemed to be fogged over. Like walking through a field of lavender after heavy rain. The smell was there too. The parchment and jasmine were almost suffocating. But not as drowning as the fear. The hopelessness.
The feeling lasted far longer than he would have liked. But once it left, the air he couldn't get enough of now filled his lungs to the brim. He took several deep breaths, steadying himself on the dirty concrete floor. His vision was hazy but slowly returning. The smell of a memory is now replaced with that of dust and toxic cologne.
Jason slowly stood and looked at the large man beside him. "I'll be back." Even through the voice modulator, he sounded unsure and shaken. Jason moved swiftly through the building before reaching the office he was given. It was no doubt bugged, but for the time, Jason didn't care. He removed his hood and sucked in a deep breath. He placed a hand on his face before quickly removing it. "Was I sweating that much?" He placed a hand back on his face, wiping away tears that didn't seem to stop flowing.
"What the fuck is happening!" He shouted, throwing his hood across the room, breaking a vase that obviously held one of the many bugs Slade had placed. He sat back on his chair, rubbings his masked eyes furiously. "It's the pit." He mumbled as he always did after these attacks. But he knew it wasn't. The pit didn't smell so pleasant. And the colors were more of a "Disney villain green" as he once described it. Jason reached for the bottom drawer of his desk, pulling out a half-empty bottle of cheap whisky. Downing it in a few short gulps, Jason huffed, standing to retrieve his hood, trying desperately to ignore the uneasiness in the back of his skull.
The tower felt cold and lonely. The living room hadn't been used for anything more than missions in almost two weeks. The kitchen was only occupied when supplies were being grabbed, rooms were only used as a brief reprise from the constant search. The extreme workload that they were putting in.
Dick would always reveille in the brief moments of silence but this... It was just heartbreaking. For so many reasons. The newest Titans were all out on patrol. Doing their best to keep the city safe while the four original members stayed back at the tower, looking for any hints as to where Slade might be.
He was silent for five years. People thought he was dead! There were no leads, no allies no nothing they couldn't even find properties that matched.
"Find anything?" Gar asked, entering the room with another pot of coffee for the ex-boy wonder.
"Not since you asked me the last fifteen minutes ago." Dick huffed. Any form of humor he had seemed to disappear the second Raven mentioned Slade's name. Dick wasn't a very serious person. He hadn't been since his early days after Batman. He was a jokester with a love for cereal, acrobatics, and disco music. But ever since that damned name was brought up, it seemed that all of his personality went out the window and he became another batman clone.
Gar had done the opposite. While he was still playful and a bit of a prankster, he became more serious with age. Being Raven's second in command on most days, he learned to put his childish sense of humor aside and look out for those who followed him. He even looked out for Raven more than he used to. Acting as a companion more than an annoyance.
"Sorry, dude." He sighed, setting the pot down next to his leader's empty cup. "I'm just, well, worried doesn't even begin to describe it."
Dick sighed, leaning back in his chair, rubbing his eyes furiously. "I know, Gar. I know. We're doing everything we can. Even the league is on it."
Gar froze. "Seriously? How?"
"I refused to come back until Raven is home," Victor stated, walking into the dimly lit room, holding a tray of assorted sandwiches. "They can run the tower without me, it's just more work for them if I'm not there."
Gar let out a sad chuckle, "so they'll only help if it gets them out of doing work?"
"That's not all, Gar." Dick huffed, standing from his seat, "they're scared."
Victor nodded, handing the tray to his old friend, "you need to eat something, man."
"Scared? Of what?" Gar asked.
"Raven is a demon," Dick stated, placing the tray by the computer.
"And a powerful one at that," Victor chimed in.
"Imagine a child with Raven's powers under the control of Slade."
It took a moment of realization before Gar's eyes widened in fear, "but wouldn't Raven be able to-"
"Not if Slade has her under his thumb."
"Is it because of the collar thingy?" Gar asked, a bit of his childish behaviors leaking out.
"Not just that, man. Raven may be a demon. But she's a good person. Hell, I'd say she's the best out of all of us." Victor huffed leaning against the doorframe, "after knowing that girl for so long, I've never seen her put herself over anyone. Not once. So imagine if Raven had a child. Do you really think she would put their life at risk for any reason?"
Gar sighed, his pointed ears drooping slightly, "but would Slade really threaten his own kid to get Raven to listen?"
Dick snarled, "do you not remember Rose? She cut out her own eye for him! Or the fact that he tried to kill his own son!"
"Dick, calm down man!" Victor jumped up, surprised by his sudden outburst.
Taking a few deep breaths, Dick sat back down, "sorry. I'm just," putting his face in his hands Dick shook, "we should have prepared better!"
Gar sighed sitting on the ground, "I should have been in there to keep her safe..."
"Hey, knock it off, both of you," Victor glared. "Being all moppy won't help bring our girl home! Star is out there right now looking through every building and alleyway to find her! You two are not allowed to give up so fast!"
"And what about you, Vic?" Gar huffed, "did you find anything in the League's database?"
Victor glared at his close friend, "it ain't easy, green bean, but I won't give up till our girl is home and safe. With or without a kid."
"Enough you two." Dick groaned. "We need to find her. Gar," Gar's ears perked up at the sound of his name "were you able to track her scent?"
"Dude, it's been almost two weeks, I couldn't even track it when she was first taken. Tracking it now is like tracking down a unicorn."
"Damn it!" Dick hit his fist against the large keyboard, "I can't even find anything in Bruce's system! Slade hid everything!" Dick sat back, feeling defeated.
Gar sat on the floor while Victor leaned against the wall, all looking as if Raven was dead.
Gar let out a weak chuckle, breaking the silence, "who would have thought this place would have been gloomier without Raven."
Victor looked down at his friends, a sad smile on his face, "we'll find her. And if she brings a kid, we'll keep them safe. Her disappearance is a need to know. If the media or villains find out, it could spell trouble for us and her."
Dick nodded. Even though it was Slade's child, Dick still had a heart, as well as a fondness for children. He couldn't blame the child because of their father. If he did, he wouldn't have become friends with Slade's other children. Plus, the child was half of Raven. One of his closest friends and confidant. For her, he would adore the child.
Picking up his shirt, Slade looked over at the quiet girl laying on her bed, staring at the wall. Her bare arms clinging the soft sheets to her chest.
"Raven?" Slade asked while placing his skintight black shirt back on.
Without moving, Raven responded, "yes, Slade?"
He smirked, enjoying her obedience. Even if it did seem robotic. "I have decided to reward you for such good behavior these past few days. Raven blinked, slowly sitting up. The promise of something other than the norm Slade had carefully lulled her into, had caught her attention. "You seem awfully bored when I'm not around so I have decided it might be best to allow you a hobby or two." Raven raised a skeptical eyebrow, still not wanting to interrupt her capture, in fear of losing whatever little change she might receive. "I have a few ideas in mind. However," Looking over his shoulder at the silent women, "you may not receive this change until I receive what I want, do you understand me?"
Raven stared coldly at the one-eyed man, "Yes, Slade. Thank you." Her voice was cold. Almost as robotic as his minions.
"Good." Walking to the heavy metal door, Slade slammed it shut, the sound of what Raven assumed to be multiple locks, clicking closed coming from behind it.
Raven fell back on the bed, curling her body into the sheets she let out a heavy sob. Since that day, four days ago, she had promised obedience, Slade had tested her. He would come to her every chance and she would submit. She felt sick. Her body was heavy and weak. She felt like... standing from the bed, Raven ran to her bathroom, the sound of her chains rattling behind her. With barely enough time, she dove her head into the porcelain throne, emptying her stomach of all its contents. She sat on her knees, heaving whatever she could into the now chunky foul-smelling water.
Raven sat like that for a few moments more, coughing and spitting into the toilet. Her hair clung to her face, drool falling from the side of her mouth. Raven hated this. She had been sick for two days and Slade had only watched her.
"Having fun, my dear?" Slade chuckled, making Raven jump and fall on her backside.
"Slade? When did you-"
"Calm yourself girl," he smirked, "I'm simply here to hand you a gift of sorts." He smiled, placing a small pink box on the bathroom counter. "I'll be back in a few minutes to see the results." And just as quickly as he came, Slade left.
Raven stood on shaking feet, flushing the toilet and grabbing the box. Without even reading it, it was obvious what the box contained. She sighed and sat down on the toilet, prepping herself for the test as well as the outcome. Pulling the plastic stick out of the box, Raven read over the directions before continuing with her test.
Raven took the test, placing it on the bathroom counter. "Is this really happening?" Raven thought to herself, passing by the bathroom door. "If it is real, what will I do? How can I raise a child? Am I even capable? What if Slade-" Slade...
Placing a hand on her lower stomach, not feeling any change in it, Raven shook. It wasn't like Raven was having a child with someone she loved. No. She was having a child for someone she feared. A million thoughts were racing through her head. What would become of her child? Would it have her powers? Would it be like Slade? What would Slade do to the child?
She remembered having a written conversation with Joey about being raised by Slade. How dangerous it was, how he had to go into hiding. How when Slade had him, he was forced to train 24/7. And listen to Rose talk about her father's mental and emotional abuse. Her eye...
Raven sucked in a deep breath of air, looking over at the plastic pink stick. Was it time? She was unsure of it. Yet, there she was walking to the bathroom. "One line is negative and two is positive." Raven got closer only seeing a single blue line from her distance. Her heart dropped when she stood in front of it. Was her vision blurry? No. She saw one line so, why was she seeing two now?
Raven felt a large hand on her shoulder and hot breath against her ear, "Congratulations, my dear. You're going to be a mother."
