CHAPTER 4

BEAST BOYS POV

I didn't sleep all night. I was playing COD and I honestly couldn't stop even when it was super late. I knew I was going to regret it later but I just couldn't stop. But when I heard Robin's pacing in the hallway I knew he would tell me how irresponsible I was so I decided to call it quits. I lied in bed and it got quiet again once Star talked to him. I was finally drifting to sleep about an hour later but I heard a door open. Raven's door. She had been doing that for the past month. Not always but it started a month ago. And I worry about her. I don't know what she could possibly be experiencing but I know she likes privacy.

I tried to mind my business but I couldn't shake the feeling. A month! What if she needs help? What if her father is trying to get to her again? She can't deal with that alone. Maybe a quick check up won't do harm.

I got up and raced to the common room. I mean I think she was in there. I opened the door and it was still dark out. I was able to make up her figure. She had her head between her legs. Was she crying?!

I walked closer and I felt my heart beating faster. And that is when I asked her" Raven,are you ok?"

She looked up at me and seemed startled. I did notice her eyes though. There was so much pain in her stare.

"What", she was trying to sound annoyed but behind that I could tell she wanted it to make it seem like nothing was wrong.

The confidence that I once had vanished but I didn't was still determined to help her. "Hey Raven… umm… are you ok ?"

Her eyes widened a bit in surprise, almost as if he had asked something bad.I continued,"It's just-"

"I'm fine.", she interrupted, sitting up straight and facing away from me," Sorry I woke you up. It won't happen again… you can leave now."

"No!"

The confidence that I had at the beginning suddenly came back to me. Even Raven seems startled. She turned to face me with a confused face and I knew what she was going to say but I made sure to be the first to speak.

"Raven, you have been doing this for the past month. Clearly it's not gonna stop because whatever is troubling you is still happening. I want to help you and I know you hate help but you need it."

I don't know how I managed to blurt all that out without stammering but I did.

"Beast boy, listen..", she got up.

"Please let me help you.", I walked a few inches closer. Literally only feet apart. I don't know what was possessing me but this was not like me at all.

Her violet eyes were analyzing me. There was so much going on in them. It was like she was deciding whether to crush me or accept my help. And I really hope it's the second option for my sake.

We stood there for a while just staring at each other and part of me really thought I was about to be thrown out the window for invading her privacy.

"Ok."

I blinked several times trying to figure out if I heard what I clearly just heard.

She sat down and motioned me to do as well.

" I'll tell you what has been bothering me."

"Really?!" I said excited and a little too loud for our own good as I took a seat next to her.

She gave me a shut-up look and glanced towards the hall that led to our rooms." Robin is a light sleeper, remember?"

She was right. The slightest sound could wake him up and the annoying lecture that comes afterwards is not something I need.

I nodded at her and whispered this time," So what's up?"

General POV

Raven hesitated before speaking." Well… it started when-"

CRASH

Both immediately turned around to the sound.

From the dark, a figure could be seen on the floor.

"Cye?!", Beast boy yelled-whispered at him.

Cyborg got up from the floor. "Who left this on the floor for someone to crack their skull?!"

Both Raven and him looked at the bowling ball next to him." My bad… Hehe." Beast boy responded.

"What are you even doing up?", Raven demanded.

Cyborg got nervous." Nothing…"

"Dude, are you sneaking out?", Beast boy said amused.

Raven was about to speak again but someone beat her to it.

"Someone better have an explanation for this."

All three turned around to see an angry Robin standing at the edge of the hall.

Somewhere in the galaxy

The doors to the main room of Muno's headquarters opened to reveal a tall, fat, blue Alien. He was bald and his eyes were bright neon blue. He appeared to be wearing what seemed like medieval type royalty clothes.

"Welcome king Jiove. I hope your trip over here went smoothly." Muno said as he shook the Alien royalty's hand.

" I certainly hope it was worth the journey,'' the large alien replied. His guards took position a few feet away from him.

Oh i can guarantee that it is.", he grinned. He snapped his fingers at a maid nearby." Get me the scrolls for when the deal is made." The maid immediately speeded her way to the records room.

King Jiove sat on the chair opposite to Master Muno's throne and noticed a chair next to his,"what is this ?"

Muno sat on his chair as he picked his teeth,"You said you were willing to pay whatever I demanded for the Tamaranian."

The king was confused," Yes?"

"Well you're not the only one that wants the merchandise. In fact, the other bidder will be here shortly."

A few minutes later, the maid came in rushing and put the scroll on the table.

"About time. What took you so long?!", he said annoyed.

"Sorry master."

He dismissed her," yeah yeah. Move along."

As the maid left the room, Taran made an entrance, heading straight to Muno.

"Master Muno. She is in the east wing as requested."

Muno did a little dance in his seat," mmmhmm good."

"I put extra security in case she tries to escape. I added a shocker on her neck as well.", Taran said.

"Ahh yes a sneaky one, ain't she", Muno teased."You are going to love her." He turned to the King who simply nodded. Muno continued yapping however.

"Taran here knows her personally." He said as he nudged him on the shoulder.

"Well I wouldn't say it was very personal", he responded, trying to avoid a weird topic.

" I beg to disagree. I mean did you see her face when you double crossed her." He laughed rather obnoxiously." There was definitely something there… yeah. Priceless"

The king raised his eyebrow and was internally annoyed at the fact that he doesn't shut up.

" What I am trying to say is that you have this man to thank for your future bride, if you have the highest bid of course." Muno cheered and picked his teeth once more.

"Yeah." Taran said awkwardly." I will be going then, Master . I am no longer needed."

He was about to make an exit but came to a stop when Muno spoke." No no. Stay." He motioned a guard to bring him a chair," After all, it is thanks to you that I am getting this amazing deal."

Taran reluctantly sat down. He didn't want to be there when Lord Narras arrived but now he was forced to be right next to Muno the entire time.

The doors opened and the advisor came rushing in. He seemed a bit worried."He is here Master but-"

"Perfect." Muno interrupted him. Taran , however, caught on that something seemed off.

"No Master, he is-"

The advisor was interrupted by the sound of the main doors being pushed with extreme force and a booming voice that made everyone in the room flinch.

"MUNO."

The man stormed through the room with a trail of armed men behind him.

"Lord Narras..", the lizard said nervously." Glad you could make it umm." He looked towards the chair next to the king." Why don't you have a seat.."

His voice trailed off as he met the cold icy eyes.

"You don't want to play games with me Muno."

"Oh ,my lord, I promise this is not a game", he chuckled nervously as he secretly pressed a button from under the table.

Within seconds many of Muno's henchmen made an appearance, surrounding the entire room.

"It is merely a change of plans." He continued with a smirk. Muno felt somewhat confident after his men showed up ." However it seems like you are not willing to bid so.." He motioned the guards," you will be escorted out."

"Master.." Taran tried to intervene but Muno silenced him and turned his attention to Lord Narras.

"Unless you are willing to put a higher price on it."

Lord Narras took a look around the room, analyzing the men that had surrounded him."This is the best you can do?". He turned to Muno."I will not be mocked by a low life. I WILL be taking the girl". He took a few steps closer." You seem to forget who you are messing with"

King Jiove stood up from his chair," I am paying a huge amount for the merchandise."

"Please, your highness, sit down.", Muno said."He was just leaving." He snapped his fingers and the guards began circling Lord Narras and his men." You may hold a title Lord Narras, but you are not on your grounds. This is my planet. I am in control.", he said arrogantly.

"You amuse me Muno."Narras chuckled. He took a few steps closer and looked at him with a killer glow in his eyes.

"Let me show you why I hold that title."

Blackfire's POV

I have been waiting in this room for what seems like forever. The maids came a few minutes ago to make some final touches on my appearance, the large maid among them. I will kill her. Just as soon as I am able to rid myself of this device on my neck. She will pay for insulting royalty.

I was pacing for a while, trying to figure out a way out but all plans came to a dead end. Especially since Taran decided to add extra security measures. Ugh. I suppose he does know me after all.

I sat down on the small, squared sofa. There was no way around it. I am stuck.

This really can't be how it ends. My life. A bride.

How could I let this happen? I let my emotions get the best of me. I thought it was different. I thought HE was different.

I swear I will make sure he regrets it. Another person added to the list I guess. There seems to be many recently.

I noticed some guards entered the room and they looked rather agitated. They whispered something to one another and then turned to me. Naturally, I shot them a dirty look. They began approaching me.

"What now?!" I demanded. One grabbed me by the wrist and made me get up. The other stood nearby.

"Walk." He ordered.

"What the hell! What is this!?", I shot back. Something definitely wasn't right. I know for a fact that that serpent's deals don't go like this.

"You are being transferred." He replied.

"Transferred and not sold?" I questioned. He didn't reply.

As he made me walk, multiple guards ran in the opposite direction of our own. Everyone seemed rather anxious.

Something was definitely going on and I'm going to use it to my advantage.

Titans tower

"So, who's gonna go first?"

Silence.

Robin crossed his arms," Guys you're not in trouble."

Cyborg, Raven and BB looked at each other before looking back at him. Robin continued," I mean it's a little strange. All the lights were off and you guys are here at a very suspicious hour of the night."

Raven did not want to tell him she was there because she was having a pity party and Beast boy happened to show up to talk about her problems. Especially when it involved a very awkward conversation. She fidgeted with her fingers.

"Raven?" Robin called.

She looked at him." I.. umm-"

"Friends, what is going on here?" A voice came from behind Robin. They all turned to see the red headed alien in her nightgown. " Is this a meeting?"

"Star" Robin walked over to her and cupped her cheek which she responded by putting her hand over his while giving him a smile." Sorry the noises woke you up. This is not exactly a meeting."

Raven looked away from the scene, hurt. Beast boy noticed this but he stayed quiet.

Starfire's smile faded and she seemed concerned. She turned to face her other friends."Is everything ok?"

"It's not a big deal, Star. It's just an incident that needs explanation." Robin said reassuringly." Nothing too serious."

Her expression relaxed." That's good to hear."

Robin smiled at her," You can go back to sleep."

"No.", she replied sweetly." It's ok." She made her way to the couch opposite to where the rest were sitting. Robin remained standing but put his weight on the wall.

"Well guys.."

Raven felt a lump on her throat. What kind of lie could she possibly come up with that would not be suspicious to a crime fighter that is a detective. And even if she were to be truthful, with Starfire here, it is just way more awkward.

Her thoughts were interrupted.

" It's a little embarrassing, you see… I started sleep walking a few weeks ago and sometimes I have episodes." Beast boy said. He turned to Raven." She has been helping me because they do get pretty bad."

Robin looked a bit confused." Is this true Raven?" He turned to her.

" Umm yes..", she replied.There is no way he believes that, Raven thought. How did beast boy come up with that lie so fast?

Robin eyed them both for a few seconds before directing himself towards Beast boy.

" I understand but you should have come to me, Beast boy. It's important for me to know these things. As your leader it is necessary for me to know anything that involves your health."

Beast boy chuckled nervously. "Noted." I can't believe I got away with that, he thought.

Robin turned his attention to Cyborg and a wave of relief swept over both Raven and BB." Well what about you ?"

All eyes were now on Cyborg.

"Yeah I was… I went out."

"Out?" Robin questioned.

"Yes out."

"Doing what exactly?"

Cyborg looked around the room, avoiding eye contact.

"Cyborg." Robin frowned.

"I was just hanging around. Not a big deal."

"Hanging around at this late hour ." Robin added. " It is a big deal."

Beast boy shook his head, signaling Cyborg to give up." Sorry bro."

Raven got up." If you guys excuse me, I am gonna go rest for the few hours of the night that we have left ."

"Good night, friend." Starfire said with a smile.

"Night." She replied.

Beast boy eyed her as she made her exit but turned his attention back to the drama when she was out of sight.

" Man, why can't you let this go!?"Cyborg complained.

"I have to admit Cye, it was a little weird seeing you trying to sneak past me and Raven." Beast boy said.

"How long has this been going on for?", Robin questioned.

Cyborg moved uncomfortably on the couch," Not long…"

" So if i check the security system..", Robin started.

Cyborg eyes widened." Why would you do that!"

"Friend Cyborg. I believe the lies are not getting you anywhere. Maybe it's time to tell the truth." Starfire said, giving him a sympathetic look. Cyborg stared at her for a few seconds before looking at the floor in defeat. "Fine."

Robin sat down on the couch next to Star. "How long?"

Cyborg rubbed the back of his head and whispered," About 4 months…"

All three were startled by his response." 4 months!" Beast boy said slightly amused

"Why?" Robin continued.

Cyborg groaned in annoyance." Because…"

The three Titans waited attentively for him to finish his sentence.

"I have a girlfriend."

They were quiet for a few seconds. Starfire was the first to break the silence. She jumped out of her seat and hugged Cyborg with joy ." That is wonderful news friend!" She released him." I am most happy for you"

"Dude, you didn't tell me!", the green changeling complained.

"Sorry man. It could have slipped out of your mouth at some point,"

Beast boy was about to complain at his response but he knew he was right." Yeah you're right."

"Dating civilians could be dangerous, Cyborg", Robin said.

"She's not a civilian. She's a hero like us."

"Joy!", Starfire beamed." When can we meet her?"

"Soon. She's currently busy taking care of something which is why I sneak at odd hours."

"Cyborg, I'm happy for you, truly. But you need to be honest with me about these things." Robin said. He turned to BB," the both of you."

"Yeah I know."

" I have enough on my plate with Slade sneaking under my nose. Now I have to worry about my teammates too?"

Starfire put her hands on his shoulder. "It won't happen again. Right, guys?" She turned to them.

"Yeah it was our bad, Robin." Beast boy said feeling bad for not thinking about how much stress Robin was in.

"Sorry man. Won't happen again." Cyborg said, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

"Well I guess this conversation is over. You guys can go."

Both BB and cyborg left the room leaving Robin alone with Star. She was staring at him while he was looking at the floor, looking a bit stressed. He was lost in his thoughts but was pulled away from them when he felt hands on his shoulders. He looked over at Starfire who gave him a warm smile." I don't want you to stress too much Robin." She said as she massaged his shoulders.

He turned his body to face her, which surprised her. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. "Thank you."

" You're welcome." She replied.

He put his fingers on her chin to pull her face closer to his.Their faces were inches apart at this point. " Star.." he whispered. And suddenly

BEEP BEEP

Both of their eyes turned to his pocket. "Who is it?" Starfire asked. She got off him and sat next to him with her legs crossed.

He took his communicator out of his pocket." Not sure." He glanced at it and when he saw the name, he immediately answered.

"Bruce."

On the other end, the voice of the dark knight could be heard." Robin. I found a lead to your investigation."

His eyes shot open." You know where Slade is?

"No. But I know someone who was in contact with him in the past two weeks."

Robin looked over at Starfire who was messing with her hair, trying to respect his conversation with Batman. He looked at the time on the monitors. Almost 5 in the morning, he thought.

"I'm on my way."
