So here is chapter 5

………………………………………………………

Blackfire's POV

Everything happened rather quickly if I'm being completely honest.

A blur.

One second I was a prisoner and the next I was free. I don't know what happened or why it happened but something serious went down there and that somehow allowed my escape. If anything, it was a miracle from X'hal.

I'm honestly still shocked. I thought my life was over.

I turned back to see the collapsing empire and prison and couldn't help but smile in satisfaction. The sounds of explosions and metal breaking is music to my ears. The raging blue flames were rather dashing as they consumed that filthy place, leaving nothing behind. Karma is truly a bitch huh?

I took a deep breath and flew away from the commotion. It seems it always works out in the end for me. I stopped mid-flying because I realized something.

I had nowhere to go.

Well…

Nowhere to go that didn't involve me getting killed by mercenaries, enemies or getting caught by the lanterns and getting thrown back to jail.

I hovered in the air before planting my feet back on the ground.

I need to consider my options.

I began walking amongst the wildlife, well at least what was left of it. This planet was truly a dump. The "grass" was rather grayish and dead and the trees looked like twisted, withered bones. Didn't seem to have many or even any actual living organisms outside of Muno's fortress so I can't stay here for long. The sun doesn't rise as much as it does on other planets meaning I only have a couple of hours before it disappears for days. I regained some strength and I definitely feel so much better but I am still weak in comparison to my glory days.

I need a place to lay low and one that has a sustainable sun to be able to get back to my original state.

I paced back and forth, thinking of a planet that is the least of a threat to me at the moment.

Then it came to me.

How did I not think of it sooner? I smirked.

Earth.

It would take me a couple of weeks at most to get there but it would be the safest place for me to recover.

Well it does seem like everything falls into place at the end. A couple of days under their sun will restore me completely.

And then I could pay sister dear a nice visit afterwards and finally get even with her.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sudden and bizarre shakening of the ground below me. I immediately took refuge in the sky, unaware of what was going on. Then suddenly a huge roar of a BOOM from a distance followed by a blinding white light and an aftermath of a force of air hitting my face.

They bombed the planet. More specifically, bombed the area of Muno's fortress.

Yikes.

He really pissed someone off.

His arrogant ass had it coming for a long time either way.

And then my mind wandered.

Taran….

As I glanced, I could tell there wasn't much left of Muno and his reign. It was almost like he and his followers never existed.

So that must mean that Taran is dead as well…

What is this feeling? There is no way that I actually care? Not after he betrayed me.

Good riddance, he's gone.

I began to make my way off the planet by levitating higher in the sky but took one last glance at the earth below me, now a nonexistent empire leaving the planet looking inhabited.

That was one powerful bomb.

There is no way Taran survived that.

…….Moments prior……

General POV

"You amuse me Muno."Narras chuckled. He took a few steps closer and looked at him with a killer glow in his eyes.

"Let me show you why I hold that title."

This sent a shiver down his spine and as much as he tried to hide it, it was obvious he was afraid. Before he could tell his henchmen to open fire, he found himself unable to finish his sentence.

"Open fi-"

Under the blink of an eye, Muno was sent flying across the room by furious force to his gut, knocking the air out of his lungs. A powerful hand then proceeded to grab King Jiove by the throat and raise his body off the floor. Narras was a blur. As much as the medieval alien fought for his life, he couldn't break free from the tightening grip around his neck. Narras only released his body once he heard a SNAP. Taran fell off his chair to the floor in shock and to his luck, the Lord paid attention to him at that moment.

Muno's men began shooting at the mere realization that their master had been attacked. In total there were 10 men, including Narras but they alone were able to overpower a room with over 50 attackers with laser powered guns. They were trained killers after all. They fought with skill, precision, and with zero ounce of fear or hesitation. One by one, they began to even out the numbers.

Taran made his way out of sight as Muno's men were being massacred. The sounds of struggle mixed with the sounds of lasers were often overpowered by the shrils of pain inflicted by Narras and his killers.

Narras effortlessly dodged the lasers that were aimed at him multiple at a time closing the distance between the remaining of Muno's men. He disarmed the one nearest to him and used that same weapon to smash his kneecap joint. Before the man had a chance to give out a scream of pain, his head was brought to a full, circled fist breaking his nose. His body dropped to the floor almost instantly. The two that were with the man that was now on the floor quickly met the same fate as they had no time to react. All they saw were flashes of movements and felt the raging force of blows to critical areas of the body and they dropped like sacks.

Another took a different approach and tried aiming at Narras with a dagger. However, to his luck, his attempts were futile. Narras maneuvered his right hand around the man's attempt and got a hold of his wrist, twisting it. The man released the dagger in reaction to the pain only for it to fall right onto Narras' left hand and used to stab him right on the throat. Four from his left came charging at him from a distance only to be met by red, glowing eyes and were immediately disemboweled by the lasers projecting from his gaze.

With the loud THUMPS of the bodies, Narras straightened himself and scanned around the room as his men finished off the remaining resistance. He chuckled as he dropped the bloodied dagger to the floor and walked past the corpses below him. He took a few steps and came to a halt when he came to face a decorative mirror, which was cracked . He analyzed the streaked blood from one of his victims on his face before grabbing a nearby cloth and wiping it. He saw something, or rather someone from the corner of his eye.

"Explain why you hide like a coward before I end your meaningless life." He took his gaze from the mirror to a nearby pedestal behind him." I see you, Muno", he paused as he continued to watch him from a few feet away. "There is one thing that I hate more than double crossers.", Narras said as he paced down a set of stairs. "Cowards."

Taran watched all of this from afar, in a hidden area of the room.

Narras walked over to the scaly lizard, who was crawling his way through the premises, seemingly trying to go unnoticed. The attempt was unsuccessful for his luck. "It seems that you are more resistant than you look." Narras continued as he kicked him in the gut, sending him sliding across the floor near a wall, cracking it in the process. Muno sat up and rested against the wall, one hand over his abdominal area. Narras kneeled down next to him and chuckled." Look around. You are done."

"We can still make the deal..", Muno said out of breath.

Narras stood up." We are way past that."Narras' men circled back around their Commander after their killing spree. They stood tall and in format. Waiting for their next orders.

"You will not find her location without me. I can reassure you of that. Only a very small group of people know where I keep my most valued merchandises and you don't know who they are. There are over 9,000 beings working under me and you've already killed several. Who knows. You might have already killed all of the ones that knew." Muno toyed and gave a smile with bloodied teeth.

"Cowards will say anything to stay alive.", Narras scoffed.

"Do you really want to test that theory, my lord ?", Muno said amused.

"He won't have to." A voice came from their right from a young man. Narras observed him. He looked almost albino from how pale his skin was. His race was typically known for their white features, which includes their hair and skin but other than that they could be mistaken for a human.

"Taran ? What is this?", Muno choked out. Now all eyes were on him.

Taran felt his blood turn cold as he met the icy silver eyes that were staring him down. Waiting for him to make a move. He cursed himself as he thought of the different options available to him. There was not much to do. He walked to them and gave his best imitation of "confidence". He heard rumors of Narras before. How ruthless, cunning and powerful he was on the far side of the Galaxy. He thought they were exaggerations like most things he's encountered but seeing him now, after the bloodbath that took place, really did speak for itself. Taran wasn't one to be intimidated easily, which is why Blackfire got along with him so well. However, he couldn't help but feel helpless at the mere presence of the man in front of him.

"What do you mean by that?", Narras replied to his previous statement.

"I know the location of where he most likely had her taken. It's a private location for his most expensive collections such as your bride.", Taran stated. He knew getting out of this situation would be harder than with Muno. He just had to choose his words carefully. Taran possessed many talents but he ultimately relied on his wits and sweet talking skills. To him, brute strength alone seemed rather primitive but it does seem to come in handy for a time like this. While he was physically stronger than many beings, including humans, he quickly analyzed that he could not match the strength of whatever that man was. He struggled putting Blackfire down back then and clearly this specimen was far stronger. He would get pulverized.

"And how do I know that it's not a ploy?",Narras asked.

"I only worked under Muno out of necessity not because I wanted to be loyal to him."He glanced at Muno with cold eyes." I am willing to give you what you want in exchange for my guarantee of walking out alive."

"You ungrateful brat!"Muno shot at him only to wince in pain from his abdomen." You were a bottom feeder and I turned your life around!"

"Kill him."Narras ordered one of his men. The man obliged and stabbed Muno through the lower chest with a large dagger, pinning him to the wall, letting out a breath before rendering silent.

Suddenly an alarm started blaring, it's echoes hitting every inch of the room, leaving a ringing sensation in the ears.

"Lord, it seems they are aware they are under attack. I suggest it is time to move. With your orders, sire.", one of his men pointed out.

"We will not leave without the girl.", Narras responded." Report back to mothership that we will request backup and immediate strike along the east side of this shit hole. I want nothing left standing when we get to locate her ."He turned to Taran before returning back to his men." Get an open communicator online for when we search the place."He made a hand gesture to Taran and he instinctively made his way over to him.

."Lead me to my bride, boy."

-EAST WING-

As she made her way into a corridor, with the two guards, more and more men kept running in the opposite direction of her. She was no empath, but she could feel their anxiety and fear. The intensity of the situation while being kept in the dark about it all is really frustrating.

"Stop walking." one guard demanded. The other stood on the opposite side of Blackfire.

Almost immediately, other guards and maids, one in particular that Blackfire remembered well. The large maid from earlier. She never caught her name. There was always a rule amongst Muno's workers and that was to never reveal names. Not that it matters since her strange size gives her away rather easily. Not to mention that her attire was different from other maids because she was considered a "head maid."They approached them and they wore the same anxious look like everyone that Blackfire laid eyes on. She was getting tired of nobody giving her answers and decided to finally speak." I demand to know what is going on."

"Quiet Troq.", the head maid hissed.

Blackfire tried to lunge at her only to fall to the floor due to the shocker on her neck being triggered. This shocker attacked her nervous system, rendering powerless. Not to mention that it is extremely painful. The shocker only stopped attacking her nervous system when the maid stopped pressing her button on her controller.

"Insolent brat.",The head maid smirked and turned to face her current holders." We will take her from here." She gestured for the guards on her side to grab Blackfire. "We will put her in a secure location with the rest of the merchandises."

"Ma'am are you sure?" One of the guards asked." She is quite dangerous."

The head maid laughed dismissively." She has a shocker", she pointed at her," and besides, all of the buildings don't allow any rays of sunlight to penetrate in here and she hasn't had any for a long time."

The two groups departed ways.

"Walk." One of them shoved Blackfire forward resulting in her shooting them an ugly look. One of many today.

The head maid walked ahead while there were six guards walking behind around Blackfire. The other maids walked behind everyone else. The large woman opened her mouth to talk."Now that we gathered the major ones from sector 4 and 5 we need to—-"

BOOM

There was a cloud of debris

And for a moment nobody knew what had happened

There was silence for only a second.

Then it started.

Guards crying in pain at the sudden hit that they took and the cries of women . Temporarily deafened at the sound of the explosion and some disoriented. Scattered all over the ground, many were unable to move. The head maid was stuck under chunks of debris from the blast. She was groaning in agony as she tried to break herself free. She amongst the other guards and other people who got caught in the sudden attack tried but weren't successful .

All but Blackfire.

No. While they were on the verge of death, and agony, she never felt more awake, never felt more alive. The hole that was torn due to the blast welcomed radiant light into the premises.

As the rays hit her skin, she felt her body and soul restore as the sunlight worked its magic throughout her. She felt strength that she hadn't felt in what seemed like forever , taking away all the pain her body was and had been for the longest time. She stood up from the ground, eyes closed and smiled welcoming generous rays. All of her senses were coming back to life and she suddenly felt light as a feather and that is when she opened her eyes. She smiled as she saw herself hovering away from the floor. How long had it been since she last flew through the stars.

She flew out into the sky, arms extended in joy.

"I'm back", she whispered with a smirk. She began flying higher in the sky. She was not planning on staying any longer than she needed to but the moment she flew higher, she fell to the ground in pain as her shocker began attacking her. "Dammit." She whispered under her breath. She looked around confused but soon realized why the shocker reacted. On the top side of each building there were shocker sensors meaning nobody with a shocker attached would be able to go past the limited perimeter allowed. " Seems like Muno isn't that much of an idiot after all. I need to get this thing off my neck."

She flew back into the penetrated building in search of what could lead to her freedom. Walking past bodies and debris she finally locked her eyes with what she was looking for. She walked over to the bloodied head maid, who was still trying to break free. Considering how large she is, it is quite amusing to see how weak she was .When the maid noticed Blackfire getting closer she began urging the debris out of desperation knowing her fate.

"Good. Youre still alive maggot.", Blackfire exclaimed as she gracefully removed the debris from the maid's legs."No." the maid whispered.

"Oh shut up.", Blackfire rolled her eyes and yanked her by the neck, slamming her against the wall." Give me the controller!", she demanded. The head maid complied in seconds. Blackfire held her against the wall with one hand while trying to examine the controller with her free hand. " Tell me how to remove this thing. Now!".

Her grip tightened and her eyes glowed." My patience is running low so I suggest you hurry up."

The head maid cried." I can't…"

"Wrong answer.",Blackfire hissed." You will tell me." The maid started coughing from the grip, tears streaming down her face. For someone her size, she sure broke easily."I am not allowed to .",she said between coughs.

"What does that mean!?", Blackfire spat back. Her eyes glowing violently.

"Only the owner releases. The pad at the bottom of the device. Maids don't know how to deactivate it . Only Master Muno.", she whimpered.

"Dammit!", Blackfire yelled in frustration and threw the woman across the floor. She yelped in reaction to her body hitting the hard metallic ground. This was not good for her but she had no choice if she wanted out. Especially since it seems they are under an attack of some sort.

Her attention went back to the maid who was now dragging herself, trying to leave the corridor. She smirked and walked over, putting all of her weight on the woman's leg with her foot making her scream as she added pressure ." Where do you think you're going?"

"Please." She pleaded.

"I only needed you alive for the shocker." She scoffed." You're useless now." Her hand began glowing and she watched in awe as her power radiated the room with violet rays. It had been so long since she witnessed it and it was truly beautiful. As much as it was beautiful, it also had other uses, which she enjoyed. She smiled maniacally as her gaze went from her hand to the maid. She directed her closed fist at the woman, aiming at her head.

"Please." She pleaded." Mercy."

"Mercy?", Blackfire mocked her. She narrowed her brows and hardened her stare." That's rich, coming from you."

Before the maid could say another word, Blackfire fired a single energy bolt, killing her instantly.

"We need more men in this direction!", someone shouted from a distance. Blackfire made her way out of the building again by flying through the opened hole. She figured it would be faster to search for Muno from the outside as long as she was careful to not trigger the shocker sensor. She wasn't completely lost as she had a general idea of the few places where Muno could currently be in. She was steps closer to freedom.

She noticed a large ship in the upper atmosphere of the planet shooting laser cannons at different areas. Most likely a mothership. She didn't recognize it and she didn't quite care to be honest. She just wanted to get out of there and the lizard was her ticket out.

"That bitch better still be alive." She muttered under her breath.

" So that I can kill him myself."

……………………………………………………….

"Sire, we have searched each of the cells, and the woman doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight.",one of Narras' men called out.

Narras eyed Taran." You said she would be here."

"I said I knew where Muno kept his most prized possessions. She should have been transferred here the moment they were alarmed ot an attack.", Taran replied while avoiding his gaze.

"You waste my time." Narras said as he cornered him to a wall, his eyes glowing with each step that he took closer to him.

" She most likely broke free from Muno's men before reaching this place."She shouldn't be able to leave the planet. I put a shocker on her. We can still find her." He blurted, hoping that would save him.

And to his surprise, it did because Narras took a few steps away from him and retreated his heat vision.

"You speak so confidently,"Narras stated.

Taran fidgeted with his hands before answering. What was he supposed to say? That he was personally involved with his soon to be bride? He would for sure shoot him in the spot."To keep it simple, I learned about her well enough to know how her mind works."

"Mmhmm."

He didn't say anything else in response to him.

Taran found himself being analyzed by the lord once more. He didn't know what he could have possibly been thinking but he stood there for a while just staring.

'I'm fucking dead.'Taran thought to himself. However, to his surprise Narras turned around to his subordinates.

"Gather around men. You will split into units to search the area." He faced Taran again." You will lead the search in my unit."

Narras' subordinates split into units of 6 and each headed in different directions.

"Well you're the expert. What is my bride up to?"

Taran took a look around the different corridors. He didn't need to think too hard. He wasn't exaggerating when he said he knew her because he did. He knew her better than anyone, her thoughts, feelings and behavior as if their minds were linked. If anyone could find her, it was him.

He returned his attention back to Narras.

" She was weak but if she was able to break free from her guards that means she regained her powers so we must be careful." , he paced a bit before continuing."She hasn't been spotted in any building meaning she is making her way around the area through the outside by flying. Komand'er loves confrontation but she's not stupid so right now she is avoiding as much threats as possible."

As he continued to think, from behind Narras spoke to his comms." Send units to search the surrounding perimeter of the buildings."

Taran walked over to Narras."She's trying to find a way to remove the shocker. It is possible that she knows how by now. The shocker could only be removed by the owner's decision. Literally. It has to be the voice releasing the person."

Narras raised an eyebrow.

That's when it clicked for Taran and made his way to the hall to his left while motioning Narras and his men to follow.

"She's looking for Muno."

"Muno is dead." Narras replied but nonetheless followed while his men trailed behind him.

"She doesn't know that." Taran said with a smirk as Narras sent a new order through his commutator. "I want the closest unit to meet and intercept at the location I am about to send. Once you target her make sure she has no room to fly out of the room."

"Lord, we have a problem.", a voice replied from the comms.

"State your issue,"Narras commanded.

"We are making our way to the location and we found two of our men down. Brute force and radiation seem to be the cause of death. She is most likely in the building headed the same way we are." The voice stated.

Narras stopped dead in his tracks and his men did the same . He turned to Taran who didn't seem very surprised and seemed rather amused."I did say she enjoyed confrontation. She's messy."

Narras glared at his communicator." You will make your way immediately."

"Yes, sire", the voice responded.

"Make sure she doesn't escape!"

………………………………………………………

Blackfire blasted the two, large metal doors of Muno's audience room. The ocean of corpses decorating the floor were definitely new. The room looked a mess as if a small tornado hit the area. Not that any other building was looking much better but something heavy had definitely happened in this specific room. She walked in, skipping over the bodies in search of an overgrown lizard.

He wasn't anywhere in sight.

She cursed under her breath. She waved her first to a nearby wall , ready to blast her exit to continue her search but something caught her attention.

She walked over to a wall, with cracks on its lower section. There was blood smeared all over it. It was dry. However , there was a trail that seemed rather recent. Someone had dragged themselves across the floor. A bloodied spear was not far from it either. As she followed, it led to the opposite wall of where she had originally started. There was a gap on the white wall. She put her hand against the wall and to her surprise, it pushed forward. Similar to that of a door. She looked inside to find a set of stairs going down a darkened path. She made her way down quietly as she reached the end into a small corridor. She could hear a voice at this point and became alert. She peeked her head slightly when she reached the corridor into a small room that resembled a panic room of some sort. Her attention went to the voice speaking to a screen and she decided to listen before making any moves.

"You don't understand. I need to leave this planet!"

"Muno, we built the tunnels for a reason. Use them and quit pestering me.", a man responded through the screen. He was most likely one of his associates as he was known to make deals with many that belonged to the high class from different planets.

"I was nearly killed. They only missed my heart by an inch. They have me surrounded. I can't sneak past them!", the lizard pleaded, his hand over his gut.

"Stop being dramatic. You seem to be healing already.", the man replied, giving him an eye roll.

"Look, I will—"

The man on the other end was interrupted as a blast from behind Muno obliterated the screen. He fell to the floor in shock only to wince in pain due to his recent wound. He shifted his body to look behind him and just as he did, he was kicked against the furniture nearby. He fixated himself from the floor and he met raging, violet eyes.

"Hello Muno.", the tamaranian smirked.

"Thought I'd let myself in."

Earth

Gotham

Robin parked his bike in front of the Manor's gate. It was late but he didn't care. Anything to get a lead on Slade. Ever since he mysteriously disappeared the day Trigon took over earth before being defeated, he's been hiding in the shadows. Lurking here and there. As much as Robin tied clues together, his trail went cold. Almost as if Slade was toying with him and it infuriated him. The other Titans had suggested taking a break from it since Slade hadn't committed any crime or threat against them but that was what worried him. If anything, he was using this time to plan their demise.

He made his way up the entrance stairs and just as he was about to knock, Alfred opened the door. He always seemed to know when he arrived ." Master Richard."

"Alfred.", he replied with a smile.

"I advised him to call you in the morning but I am not surprised you both don't know the definition of sleep." Alfred teased.

"Yeah that's us.", Robin chuckled slightly.

"He's waiting for you."

Robin nodded and made his way past Alfred. Once he was in the Batcave, he found Batman doing what appeared to be "research" on a criminal. Seems like Robin wasn't the only one who was having trouble tracking down the bad guys.

"Bruce."

Batman looked up from his screen." Took you long enough." He straightened his posture.

"You seem to forget it's a long drive."

Bruce rolled his eyes at the attitude he was receiving.

"So where's my lead?"Robin asked as he dragged a stool nearby and sat on it.

"He should be here right about now.", Bruce said as he took a sip of his coffee.

Robin raised an eyebrow. Batman didn't seem to be worried about a stranger coming to the batcave. He's not even wearing his uniform ."You're gonna have an informant down in the batcave? What about your identity?"

" This informant happens to already know what Bruce Wayne does behind closed doors." A familiar voice said from behind. Robin turned around to come face to face with his doppelgänger.

Well not necessarily but they both looked similar with equal height, physique and jet black hair. The only difference between the two was that Robin was a tad pale in comparison to his doppelgänger's tannish skin and his eyes. Robin's eyes resembled a deep, ocean blue while the eyes that met his gaze were more of a mix of greenish/ blueish.

It had been almost 2 years since he last saw him and he would be lying if he said he wasn't shocked to see him here now.

"Jason?"

………………………………………………………

…Current time…..

"She's gone, sire."

Narras slammed his fist against the wall in frustration , creating a dent. He recollected himself before proceeding to look around." She shouldn't have been able to remove the shocker."

Taran walked around the small room and only stopped when he spotted something on the ground. He bent over to inspect it. The shocker.

"It seems Muno wasn't dead when she found him." He glanced to his left to find the lifeless body of the lizard against the wall. A hole right through his chest area." She, however, finished the job after getting what she wanted. Blasted him right in the heart."

"I'm not surprised he thought giving her what she wanted would save his scum of a life." Narras stared from behind. Men started exiting the room

and Taran turned around to see Narras making his way out." Call off the search. It's most likely that she is off the planet by now. Once we are back on the mothership I want this place down to the ground."

"Sire, would you like me to kill him?"

Taran felt his heart stop when he realized the man was referring to him and was preparing his weapon. He felt as if time was slowing down as the laser gun was now aimed at his head.

"No."

The subordinate layed off his weapon." Sire?"

"Bring him along. I still need him." And with that he ascended up the stairs out of the panic room. It took Taran a couple of seconds to breathe before following behind Narras' men. He would live to see another day it seemed.

The attack was over. Now with Narras and his men back in their mothership they were getting ready to leave the atmosphere of the planet. Not before bombing the place before doing so though. Taran watched from a glass window as the blinding explosion took place, glad he was far away from it. Although at this point he didn't know what was the better option. Getting disemboweled by the fury of the heat vision of a colonizer or getting bombed. To be honest, both were bad.

The door to the room he was currently in slid open and a tall, lean woman in all white stepped in." Lord Narras, request your presence at this very moment. Follow me."

He nodded and matched her pace as he walked behind her through the maze-like halls. She stopped at a large white door and used a card to open it. On each side of the door stood a guard, seeming rather emotionless as if they were robots rather than people. The woman stepped into the room and Taran followed.

"Sire, he is here.", she said as she motioned Taran to step forward. He complied and waited to be addressed to. Lord Narras was facing away from them, seemingly looking out into the vacuum of space through his window. A glass of what appears to be some kind of liquor in his hand.

"Leave us."
