Hey everyone, I think it's pretty fun doing things a bit differently from the canon while still staying true to the overall events of the series, with this story I wanna keep most of the arcs with the same aftermath but with very noticeable differences, as well as add a few new stuff to keep things interesting, hope you all continue to enjoy Daikon and Kurome's journey and witness their struggles and victories along the way.
Cassandra quickly turns as soon as she heard the voice, a figure jumps out of the trees swinging a blade towards her, after blocking she slides backwards due to the impact, the rest of the team notice what's going on.
"That must be her!" Gilberda shouts, the person before her was a girl with long black hair and red eyes, she wore a white and red outfit and held a katana "You will rest in pieces" she uttered pointing her blade.
(Akame Ga Kill – Kinpaku)
"Not on my watch" Gil quickly sprinted to the red eyed girl with a heavy punch, her attack was dodged and countered with a kick into a tree, "That's Akame, member of the Elite seven" Taeko coldly remarks as she unsheathed her weapon with a stare.
The red eyed assassin suddenly disappeared in front of her eyes only to be seen a few steps away from her, Taeko deflects her swing with a slash from below, as Akame was briefly stunned Taeko took this chance to attack, however Akame purposely falls down to avoid the attack.
The 2 continue their fierce assault...clashing their blades against each other, "They seem evenly matched, their speed is incredible" Cass utters while shielding her eyes from the wind, Gil punches her fists together, wanting to interrupt the battle "Either way we have that girl outnumbered, let's take this chance to attack!".
As Gil charged forward Akame manages to punch Taeko's gut and quickly throw her to gil's direction, the 2 of them hit each other and land on the ground, Cass takes out 2 Chakrams and throws them, wanting them to make a direct hit on the assassin.
Akame jumps in the air to avoid them as they get stuck on trees, she spins mid-air to perform a heavy slash to Cass's chest, luckily for her Taeko blocked it, her face now more serious and eager to get the job done "Enough fooling around, I will finish this".
Meanwhile the duo have left the town and entered the forest, the sound of birds chirping filled the area with a peaceful atmosphere "Everything looks alright for now, wonder how close we are to her" Daikon says checking his surroundings, then he begins hearing the sound of blades clashing in the far distance.
Kurome listens as well, knowing there must be a battle nearby "My sis is fighting someone, lets follow the noise" she says before running, wanting to get to her sister as fast as she can, there was no telling who her opponents were.
They begin sprinting to the direction of the battle with the atmosphere slowly getting dangerously quiet, Daikon stared into the distance...keeping his hand on the handle of his sword "I should be more serious right now, but I can't help but feel exited" he thought to himself with determined smile.
Taeko continued pushing back the red eyed killer with her relentless attacks, Akame responds with attacks of her own...still keeping her cool, she jumps on a tree and launches herself forward with a spinning slash, Taeko quickly rolled out of the way before jumping back up to kick her forward.
"Now!" she shouted as she slowly rises back up, after that Cass threw a chakram towards Akame, she manages to deflect it with a vertical swing while downed...although now she has to worry about fighting 3 experienced assassins at once while her fatigue was slowly catching up.
Gil was behind the tree Akame was laying on, she summoned enough force to punch the tree in half, sending the top half to crash on other trees, Akame dashed away before attempting to attack until Taeko deflects her swing.
Cass tried to sneak attack with her scimitar only for Akame to hit her stomach with her elbow, Gil lands a solid punch towards her face and kicks her back to the ground, Akame dodged all the attacks from them as best she could, however Taeko knocks her off balance and pointed her blade.
"This is where you meet your end...Akame of the elite seven" she muttered menacingly, Gil helped Cass back up with her hand "You alright?" she asked, Cass dusts herself off with a neutral face "Yes, only minor damage", Akame stared at the blade in front of her with a frown, clearly not giving up.
Cass scratched her head "How about we try convincing her to join our side, our madam would love to have an assassin like her, plus more fun for us", Gil lets out a quiet sigh "I don't think Taeko cares about that, besides...Akame is done".
The 2 of them turn back to Taeko as she prepares to land a finishing blow, the red eyed girl refused this, she didn't want to die before she even gets to see her own sister again, her fate looked bleak...until someone suddenly appears to roundhouse kick Taeko's face with lightning speed.
The grey haired assassin rolled sideways before looking to see her attacker, Cass and Gil jumped back in defensive positions "Who the hell is that?" they both thought, Daikon stood before them...his blade rested on his right shoulder as he held it.
Akame stared up at him, her eyes couldn't stop gazing upon this mysterious person in front of her, he looked down to face her with a positive and reassuring smile "Your Akame huh, nice to meet ya" he said in a clam tone.
She wondered how he knew her name, if someone told him about her, but her attention was brought back to her attackers getting ready to assault her new ally "Are you from the elite as well?" Taeko asked, Daikon lightly shrugged "Well...not always, but my team has been transferred into it".
It was then that Akame remembered Gozuki telling them about the campaign and another assassin team joining their ranks, "He's from the same team as Kurome" she thought with curious eyes, her hopes were brought up...she will indeed see her again.
"Either way that makes you our enemy" Taeko says menacingly, she rushes forward to attack him without hesitation...but Daikon jumped away to avoid her then continued to stand "Ok then, give me everything you got!".
Taeko clashed blades with him almost immediately "Man, she pulls no punches" he thought, after blocking most of her attacks he manages to do a quick jab to the face, causing her to fall down and roll a few feet away, looking up before wiping blood off her mouth.
Daikon turns to face Cass who was eager to fight "You will regret picking a fight with us" she yelled, he was curious to see what moves she got while keeping an eye on her movements, she threw her disks only for them to be deflected as he ran closer.
Cass swings her scimitar towards his chest only for the attack to be blocked by their clash, he lets out a shout then wins the clash, pushing Cass back farther "From that clash I can tell he's no joke" she thought.
Taeko jumps back into the fight as Daikon turns to see her, he managed to dodge 3 of her quickest attacks then hits her with the back of his hand, throwing his sword up to punch her stomach with his left arm and catches it back in his hand, she rolled back but landed on her feet.
"These must be some of the Oarburghs we are fighting, they seem pretty deadly, I have to train more if we're gonna fight their leader" he thought, Taeko touches her stomach, the solid blow he handed was nothing to laugh at.
Cass examined the short fight carefully "He's able to compete against Taeko?, his training must be advanced" she says to herself, the purple haired girl was surprised and impressed...but she wouldn't let this distract her from her job.
She was about to use her chakrams once again until Gil has had enough of standing around "That's it, my turn now" she yelled, the blonde walks forward with her fists clenching, ready to throw some punches "Let's see how you do against my fists".
Daikon looks at the sky for a brief moment, he decides to sheath his blade and gets into his martial arts fighting stance with a smile, he accepted her challenge...curious to see her strength.
(Dragon Ball FighterZ – Gogeta (Super Saiyan 4))
Suddenly after a leaf falls from a tree they jump towards each other, Daikon blocks her fist and Gil blocks his as well, they continue to battle...their punches causing more leafs to fall, Taeko looks to where Akame layed only to see she wasn't there.
Akame makes a lucky cut on her leg, she has regained some strength to fight on, "Back for more?" Taeko asks, the red eyed girl didn't answer and tries her best to keep the opponent busy.
Daikon performs a quick jab to her gut with his left fist before punching her face with his right one, Gil rolls back but jumps to kick him into a tree, after seeing her dash to him he gets out of the way as she punches the tree in half instead.
He does a roundhouse kick to her torso and spins around to hit her with his elbow, as he was about to throw another punch Gil blocks it with his forearms "Not bad, but I'm just warming up", after she kicked him farther from her Daikon clenched his fists with a grin "Same here".
They clash once more, rapidly punching and kicking each other as they fight through the forest, Cass grits her teeth out of disgust "When is she gonna know to not play around", she tries charging in the fight with the intent to kill the opponent.
The 2 of them punched each other at the same time, Gil would try grabbing his shirt with her left arm however Daikon was one step ahead, grabs her arm and slams her down, he jumped up to shoot a larger ki blast.
The blonde quickly gets up to jump out of the way, a small explosion could be seen from outside the forest but only 1 citizen noticed it from the city "The hell is going on?" he questioned, then he shrugged it off as the empire testing weapons.
"What even are you" Gil asked demandingly with her fists ready, Daikon gets into his stance once more "An assassin who fights for his friends" he says in a serious tone, she cracks her knuckles "Strange, you don't seem like the others", they charge forward with almost instant speed.
Gil punches his face and aims for another hit one until Daikon parries her next attack with his left arm, he charges a ki blast and aimed it at her face, blasting her into a broken tree "You were a little wide open", her eyes twitched while she stared at him "Impressive, too bad you're an enemy...and a boy".
"What?" he quietly asked with confusion, Cass held both her throwing weapons tightly, for a brief moment she thought her enemy was off guard and went in for the kill "You're done".
He looks to his right to see Cass throwing 2 of her chakrams, he simply moved out of the way while facing her "What, those should have hit" she mutters to herself, Daikon gives her a light frown as he waits for her to attack once more, she angerly charges in, swinging as fast she can.
He dodges every single one of her swings, his body was reacting on it's own, a form of martial arts his father taught him years ago to the best of his ability, Daikon continued to instinctually dodge her failed attacks until he grabs her arm then kicks her in the air.
He would jump up to slam her back into the ground, after landing he unsheathes his sword, holding it with both hands "I should probably end this now" he thought, Cass gets up with an angered face, sprinting towards him to attack once again.
He clashes to block and pushes her back, Gil shakes her head then she starts breathing heavily from the fatigue "You are a tough one, but you can't fight both of us alone", Daikon stared for a brief moment, shaking his head before smiling "Who said I was alone?".
It was then that Cass heard leafs move above her, Kurome jumps down from a tree and delivers a powerful slash, the purple haired girl was cut deep, her eyes wide open as she fell down, Gil watched with fear...then the fear turned into hate "How dare you!".
Daikon jumps to Gil with a thunderous punch to the face, she crashed through a tree and her face lands on the ground, "Thanks Kurome" he says while looking back at her, she nodded her head "No problem, but now we have to get to Akame".
Gil coughs blood as she crawls up, she struggled to keep her balance while trying to get to Cass, "Get up Cass, you can't die yet" she said, she tried waking her up but there was no use, the sounds of clashing blades alerted Daikon "Lets go" and the duo leave to find the sister.
Akame continued fighting Taeko with all the energy she can spare, both assassins injured and fatigued from the battle, they were evenly matched...both similar yet different from each other, as one performs a strike the other dodges or blocks and the cycle would continue.
Their speed was on par but Taeko began feeling more worried for her comrades, Akame kicked her gut with her knee, as the body was launched forward she quickly dashed for the kill, but Taeko protected her heart with her right forearm.
The red eyed girl changed her strategy on the fly...she cuts off the forearm, Taeko shouted in pain and was exposed to attack, Akame spins for a overhead slash until Gil manages to save her teammate, kicking Akame away from her "I am not losing anyone else today...".
She was holding Cass in her arms, Taeko grits her teeth while closing her eyes...trying to withstand the pain, "It's gonna be alright, once we get home we'll fix you right up", she helps her up and notices Akame was gone, she shakes her head "The seven is none of my concern right now".
Daikon and Kurome roamed the forest looking for Akame, "I'm glad you were able to save her" Kurome says with a sigh of relief, Daikon would respond as he dusts the dirt off his clothes "Me too", it was then that she revealed herself "Kurome...".
She stood in front of them, injured yet still standing fine, they stared into each others eyes, at last the 2 of them meet for what felt like forever ago, Kurome's eyes were tearing up...then she ran to her big sister "Sis!".
The sisters hugged tightly, Kurome sobbed with happiness as Akame gently rubbed her back, both smiled brightly at each other with teary eyes...the sunlight had returned and shined through the trees, Daikon smiled while crossing his arms, happy he was able to bring them together.
"I'm so happy to see you again sis" Kurome said as she cuddled, Akame responded while patting her head "Same here Kurome", after the little reunion Akame turned to Daikon, approaching him and bowing out of respect "Thank you, for bringing her back to me".
He gave a thumbs up "Hehe of coarse, guess that makes a good first impression", indeed" she replied, Akame then tilted her head "What's your name by the way?", he rested his hands on his hips, wearing a bright smile "I'm Daikon, it's nice to meet you Akame, sister of Kurome".
"I'm guessing you 2 are good friends, I'm glad to know she has a dependable friend like you" she says Sincerely, he scratched his head with a grin while closing his eyes, Kurome steps between them with a bright smile "We will be the best team ever!".
The both of them couldn't help but feel at peace with such a cute smile worth protecting, the 3 assassins then started heading back to the base, the mission to find Akame was complete...and the desires for the sisters seeing each other again...was achieved.
4 hours later
There was a large fortress, heavily fortified with female warriors, guards, and assassins, Taeko and Gil have just arrived back from their failed assassination attempt on Akame, Gil still carried the dead body of Cass but kept staring forward to avoid looking.
They enter the main building, torches on all sides of the walls, the Oarburgh banners as well...their icon was of a Beetle like insect, as they roam the halls Taeko could feel guilt, guilt of letting her comrades down...and guilt of failing a mission.
"The madam is currently in the courtyard, please make haste" a guard comments as she stood near the door leading to said courtyard, Taeko and Gil walk through the door, the sun once again shines brightly.
There was a figure sitting on a comfy chair watching the sky, there was also an older looking man standing near "Oh dear, what happened?" he asked, Gil sets Cass down on the floor and the both of them bow down.
"Lady Merraid, we were unsuccessful in assassinating the elite seven's Akame, we are deeply sorry" Taeko's voice was melancholic as she spoke, the figure then revealed herself, a woman with purplish black hair wearing purple free-flowing dress.
"Babara would have harshly punished you for failing, but I'm quite surprised you of all people would fail...Taeko..." she mutters, her voice was elegant yet venomous, Both girls would sweat nervously as she turned around to see a dead body.
Her face was now of worry and concern "What happened to Cassandra, explain yourselves!", Taeko would speak up "Cass was killed in battle, she was a little too reckless and she paid the price...", the woman would rest her hand on the body's forehead, quietly sending her condolences.
She stood back up while looking at the trees nearby "I was afraid of that, she has been very reckless lately...i wish I could have taught her more", she motions her hand to tell the guards to take the body and find a burial.
"Don't you worry Madam Mera, we will succeed in killing her when we get the chance once again" Gil says as she clenched both her fists, Taeko agrees "Yes, I take full responsibility for our loss, I will be the one to finish her off".
Mera turns back around to face them, her mood affected by all this info "What else can you tell me about the situation?" she asks curiously yet demandingly, Taeko kept her eyes down...not wanting to look at her due to the failure "As we were about to kill her...a boy with incredible skill was able to halt us".
"What was that?" Mera asked curiously, the grey haired girl repeated herself to her leader "A boy with spiky black hair and a tail was able to stop us from killing Akame, his skill was astonishing, dodging Cass attacks, keeping up with Gil, his training must be advanced".
The woman glared menacingly towards her assassins, as if something greatly upset her "A BOY...bested you?", Gil nervously nodded "He got Cass killed as well, I swear Madam we will defeat the seven as best we can".
Mera seemed extremely bothered by that little detail, the gender of the person for some reason mattered greatly to her, she pointed towards the door, her voice now commanding "Get out of my sight, both of you!", the 2 girls quickly left while sweating with fear.
The older man looked worried for his leader "That was quite concerning mam, a little detail like that putting you one step closer to the edge" he said, Mera sighed, sitting back down while holding a glass of wine "Daniel, you know besides you I despise men".
"Of coarse mam, just pointing it out" Daniel responded, the woman kept her gaze ahead, she thought about the recent information, Cass dying, Taeko failing, and then Daikon, who she didn't know the name of or his appearance.
"So a boy got you killed Cassandra, I'm sorry this has happened to you" she thought to herself, her heart now filled with curious anger, this nameless male besting her most prized assassin...as well as getting someone she cared for killed.
Madam Merraid sets her glass down and stands up, her face with a frown, an ominous dark aura surrounded her, her main goal was no longer about Akame, this time it's more personal to her "Boy of the Seven, I will make you suffer...your death will be agonizing...".
Meanwhile back at Rousei village the team was on break, relaxing after a long day of traveling and for the duo...fighting, Kurome was spending precious time with her sister, they were playing a game of chess and Akame was in the lead "And I win" she smiled.
"Aw I lost, but that was a good match sis" Kurome says happily, while that is going on Gin was talking with Natala, they were having a fun conversation but afterwards she decided to ask "By the way...you know where Daikon went?".
Natala shrugged "Probably outside buying more food, I wouldn't worry too much", Gin crossed her arms "Guess your right, just wanted to see how he was doing, after all he did get himself into a pretty intense fight".
Gozuki opened the door, looking at her while he pointed outside "He's just outside training in the town park nearby, you can look for him there", she nods as she heads out the door "Thank you sir".
After a couple minutes Gin reaches the park, there wasn't that many people due to the day being very busy for the citizens, thus the park was an excellent training area for Daikon, he was punching and kicking the air, honing his martial arts even further.
"Hey Daikon, what's up?" she asked, he would stop to turn to her "Oh hey Gin, I'm just training", he was standing below a tree which blocked the sun a bit, he would sit down and lay against it "Anything you wanted to talk about?".
After a few seconds she sat down with him, looking around the town and taking in the atmosphere "Nothing in particular, so how was the battle against the 3 assassins?", Daikon punched his fists together "It was exiting, I didn't think they would be this deadly".
Gin crossed her legs with a quiet sigh, she fixed her hair as she looked at him "Weird, we haven't talked one on one in a long while, it's mostly us with the rest of them", he scratched his head "Yeah, but that doesn't mean we aren't friends".
She laughed a little before gazing at the clouds "You know, there was another thing I wanted to ask", she then sat up Stright and turned back to him "Do you know what you want to do in the future?".
This would catch him off guard, he buried himself in his thought for a brief moment then opened his eyes once more "Well...besides finding my mother again...i want to be by Kurome's side, I know it sounds a little funny...but it's what I want to do".
"I should have known, you 2 look perfect for each other" she says calmly, he wore a surprised face, not expecting Gin to say that "H-huh?", Gin would pat his head gently "It's ok, continue protecting her, she needs you as much as you need her".
"O-of coarse, I'll do my best" he responds, she giggled before standing up "Well, have fun training, I'm going back inside", after she walks away Daikon would then lay on the grass, he takes his sword out of his sheath, holding it up with his right arm.
"Your right Gin...I'll protect Kurome with my life, that is the main reason I want to keep getting stronger" he says calmly, the sunlight reflects off the blade as he continued holding it up, the wind blew gently against his hair.
He sits up and holds his sword with both hands, still staring at it as he thinks to himself "I'll keep dedicating my life and my sword to her, for her smile is what keeps me going...", Daikon's conviction was ever stronger, now with the support of his friends.
To be continued...
