I always thought doing a very small scale crossover that doesn't involve already established characters was a cool idea, it gives people like me more room to be creative with my characters, I mean if you look at original dragon ball before it was ever revealed Goku was a saiyan...the challenges he had to face on earth were still pretty big, eventually it escalated into the Dragon ball we all know and love, so I kinda had the same idea...but the super crazy stuff will be built up then eventually explode onto the surface later on.
1 day later, the Oarburgh base
In a dark room lit with torches there were a couple captured imperial spies whose arms are tied, they were forced to sit there...waiting for their potential torture, then the door opened...revealing lady Merraid "Welcome to the first...and last time you will see this base".
The spies couldn't do anything but struggle to move, Mera stood over them with a scowl as she stared "It's quite unfortunate you two are not female...this would have been less painful...".
Suddenly small creatures started swarming around her, they were all insect like "As you can see...these are known as Wrigglers...they will act as your executioners", the men started to struggle and let out scared cries.
"But before that...tell me the current location of the Elite seven...and I will have them kill you less painfully" she mutters, the 2 spies knew where they were since they regularly gave Gozuki updates on what was happening, one of them shook his head "I'm not betraying the empire...especially for a bitch like you".
The wrigglers flew closer to them with the woman not amused by him "I will not ask again...where are the seven?", the man was scared but he didn't want to turn his back on his allies, he breathed heavily while looking up with a frown "Go to hell".
Her angered look intensified...and she pointed at him "Eat him alive", the insects then all landed on him and started eating his skin, his screams were loud enough for the guards to hear outside the door, his teammate watched in horror as he started to weep.
Afterwards the wrigglers flew away, the body fell on the floor...the skin now gone, Mera then turned her head to the other man, grabbing his hair to make him face her "How about you tell me instead...since your friend was unwilling to cooperate...".
"Yes, yes, I will tell you, please don't kill me!" he sacredly replied, she lets go and crossed her arms "Ok, now...where are the elite seven located currently?", the man stopped crying and then told her "They are staying at an inn in Rousei village, way north of the central empire, that is all I know".
She wore a grin...now satisfied with the man's broken will "Good, now as promised...i won't kill you", he looks up with tired eyes...now glad this nightmare was over, but as he was about to thank her Mera snapped her fingers and a guard approached "I will kill you...but she will".
Before he can even scream the guard cuts his head clean off and the body fell, she couldn't help but smile "Now we can eliminate the seven...", suddenly someone else opened the door, the red haired woman entered the room "Ah, welcome back...Chelsea" Mera turned to face her.
Chelsea fixes her hair with a nod, her face was neutral as if she didn't enjoy being around her "I was able to learn that the seven are close to finding our base, I spotted 3 of their members talking with civilians".
Mera raised a brow, a bit surprised to hear the news, though now she had their village discovered "They're close to finding us huh...too bad we beat them to it", she then raised her finger "Thanks to one of the spies we killed...they are located at Rousei village".
Chelsea crossed her arms, facing the floor with no visible emotion, Mera then approached with opens arms and hugged her "Thank you for being successful at your mission, I'm so proud of you", this didn't seem to cheer her up.
"I was also able to figure out the name of the boy" Chelsea added, Mera stops hugging then backed away "Alright then...what is his name?", she replied in a quiet tone "Daikon".
Lady Merraid turns away, talking with herself within her thoughts "Daikon...so that's your name, be prepared for you and your friends to suffer", she looks back at Chelsea with a smile, patting her head gently "You're a very good girl, maybe soon I can reward you...privately...".
Chelsea sweats while giving a slight nod, very unnerved by the leader of the Oarburgh clan, even to some of the rebels Mera is someone they would want to avoid, her wrigglers disappear after she heads towards the door "For the meantime we have a base to raid, please stay here and rest...you've done your part".
The leader grinned with malicious intent, she closes the door and meets Taeko leaning against the wall "Ah Taeko, how would you like to join me in raiding the seven's hideout?" she asked, the grey haired assassin now had a prosthetic arm where her forearm used to be.
She responded with a quiet nod, Mera continued to talk calmly "Excellent, this will be a great opportunity for you to make up for your failed mission", Taeko stood up and held her blade's handle "Are we going to kill everyone there?" she asked.
The lady shook her head "Not everyone, I would still like to capture Akame and convert her to our clan, however I want to capture that boy named Daikon...to make him suffer", Taeko scratched her head, not sure of what to feel about this "You want to keep Akame alive...and torture the boy?".
She looks at her new arm and clenched it's fist, she doesn't like the idea of keeping Akame alive...let alone torturing someone, before she can say anything Mera touched her shoulder with a smile "Yes...Akame will make a good Oarburgh, and I will avenge Cassandra with the boy's death".
Taeko remains quiet for a moment, thinking about the loss of her comrade, but she only wants to get the job over with, no pushing it too far, however her leader had other plans, she wanted to settle things with the red eyed killer.
"Now come with me, we should arrive around the afternoon" Mera calmly says as she walks away, the grey haired girl nods and follows, things have been a lot tougher for her for the past few days, not only losing a comrade...but her arm as well.
"I'm sorry leader, but I want to defeat Akame, not only to finish what I failed...but to fight her as an equal" she thought, Akame like herself was an experienced assassin, they both seemed similar in some ways, Taeko would rather fight who she saw as an equal...than to convert her against her will.
Meanwhile, 2 hours later
The morning sun has risen further and was no longer sunset, the sky was blue as the town was active, Daikon was about to head outside the inn for a walk "Alright guys I'm gonna walk around for a bit, if you don't mind of coarse", Gozuki gave a nod of approval "That's fine, as long as you come back before we have lunch to discuss our future plans".
The seven have been a bit drained from the missions so of coarse it's good to have some times to relax, "You sure you got some money with you?" Natala asked before Daikon revealed his bag of coins, he reach out for the doorknob until he heard Kurome approach him "Hey Daikon, is it ok if you can get me a snack?".
He closed his eyes with a chuckle "Yeah Kuro, I'll get you some cookies", she smiles and gives him a quick hug, he couldn't help but hug back "By the way, does your sister buy stuff for you too?" he asked, she had her hands behind her back "Yeah, though she mostly spends her money on meat".
The 2 of them laugh together, Akame was happy to see her sister enjoying herself as she watched from a distance, he waves to everyone before closing the door, now he walked through the streets himself with his hands in his pockets.
As he walked he noticed some people around him giving him a weird look, most likely due to his tail, he hasn't noticed it before since his attention was mostly on his friends and the mission, he began to wonder "How was I born with this tail, why does it make me so different from everyone?".
Flashback
Kid Daikon sat with Seji on the couch, "Hey Dad, how come I was born with a tail?" he asked, the father looked down for a few seconds...being reminded of the day he found him, he turns back to his boy with a smile "To be honest...i'm not really sure, but it just means your special".
The boy looks at his tail, it was a brown monkey like tail, he sighed and crossed his arms "What if people make fun of me for it?", Seji puts his hand on his back, comforting his kid "Even if they do...you shouldn't let that stop you, be proud of who you are...proud that you are different".
He turns his body to face him, gently patting his head "I can tell that you will do great things someday, who knows...maybe even save people", Daikon remained quiet as he listened, his eyes still looking ahead, thinking about his father's words.
Seji sat up Straight, still giving him a warm smile "Son, whatever path you choose in life, just know that being different isn't a bad thing, I know you will do great things...and I'll be proud", the boy looks back and slowly nods, accepting the reality of what he is born with.
"For the meantime...let's see what Mother has made for us this time" Seji says with laughter, Daikon smiles and laughs with him, the 2 stand up and head towards the table, the smell of food made his mood brighter, he was prepared for what he was about to eat.
Present day
The wind gently blew against his Spiky black hair, he stood still remembering the past when he was still living at home with his parents, his father was still alive at the time, he stared at the sky in melancholy...his father's words in his head.
"Hey there young man, you alright?" someone asked, Daikon looked to see a man selling meat, he could tell the man isn't from the Empire "I'm alright, just a little homesick" he replied, the man smiled "Ah you miss home, well me too sometimes".
Daikon looked at what he was selling and payed for a chicken leg, the man watched as the assassin eats the food within 10 seconds, amazed by this ability "Hehe, you're a fast eater huh?" he asked, Daikon wipes his mouth and nods "Mhm".
Afterwards he would decide to ask the man something "You said something about missing home sir?", the man nods, his arms resting on his table "Yeah, I'm sure you can tell...but I wasn't born in the empire, in fact I was born somewhere in a distant land called...Wakoku".
"Wakoku...where is it at?" Daikon asked, curious about this person's homeland, the man pointed towards a certain direction "It's an Eastern land...divided into 22 nations, it's quite beautiful", the teen scratched his head "If it's so beautiful...why did you leave?" he asked.
The older man sighed, looking at his table, there was a hint of sadness in his voice "Well...there's currently a war going on...a war waged on by 2 nations, Soukai...and Tenrou, my previous home was destroyed by one of their battles", Daikon watched the man...feeling sad for him.
The man continued his story "After that me and my family moved here to the empire, Rousei village became my home ever since, I can't stay there as long as those 2 nations are still at war for power...", Daikon rested his shoulders, the tale made him worried.
"I-i hope your doing ok sir..." he says in a quiet tone, the man nods and faced him once more "It's ok now...i'm comfortable here anyways, but there are times where I wish I can go back to Wakoku and take in the beautiful view of pink flowers".
Daikon looks at his right arm, still thinking about his old home "I miss my home too sir...and I hope I can meet someone there too...", "Well I wish the best of luck to you young man, watch yourself out there" the man says, they wave goodbye and Daikon looks for a place that sells cookies.
After finding and paying for 2 chocolate chip cookies for Kurome, he thanks the seller and continues to walk around the town, he lets out a quiet sigh still feeling a bit homesick, he also begins to feel uneasy...though he isn't sure why.
"I should get back to the inn soon, they must be waiting for me already" he thought, the sky was now fully blue and less cloudy...lightening up the mood, Daikon turns to the left to see a woman, she was blonde with golden eyes and wore a somewhat revealing outfit, as well as a strange belt.
He was a bit curious about her "Could she be in the Oarburgh clan?" he thought, after blinking he was about to talk with her, then he noticed she was already gone, "Huh?" he scratched his head, the woman was nowhere to be seen.
Daikon begins heading back to the inn, carrying the cookies he bought with him, he wipes away some sweat as he walked "Phew, it's pretty sunny" he says to himself, as he walked he sees a few stare awkwardly at someone, someone with dark grey hair wearing a dark purple cloak.
He froze, slowly recognizing the lime green eyes, but not only that...she was heading towards him, she grabs her sword's handle then suddenly lunged at him for the kill, Daikon quickly grabs his sword from it's sheath and blocks the attack, people watched in shock and started running in fear.
"Everyone get back!" he yelled with wide eyes, not wanting people to get hurt, the people still there listened and ran to safety, the cloak flew off the attacker...revealing it to be Taeko "You're the same girl from the forest Akame fought" he says in a serious tone.
She remained silent, continuing to attack him as he blocked and countered, he kicks her stomach and charged forward with a 2 handed swing "How did you find this place?", after blocking the attack Taeko dodged his next swing and pushed him into a table "Our leader found out your location".
He noticed her new prosthetic arm, but he decides not to ask about that, he gets back up from the broken table, breathing from the intensity of the situation "I don't care what your clan believes in, but no one is gonna hurt my friends!", the 2 clash again, the battle moving to different sections of the town.
The others were still at the inn, with Green looking out the window...seeing people running "The hell is going on?" he asked himself, Kurome looks through a different one, now a bit worried "Why is everyone scared?", "I'm not sure, but stay close" Akame says, very concerned about what's going on as well.
"I'm gonna look for the boss, stay safe alright" Green says before leaving the room, he would run through the hallway until someone blocked his way, Gilberda punched her fists together, wearing a grin of delight "Where are you going?".
In a different area upstairs Gin was with Natala near a few other people, the citizens still hung out unaware of what's happening outside, "Why do I hear screaming?" Gin asked.
She sighed and was about to open the door until she hears the sound of buzzing, Natala was curious as well...placing his hand on a window "I don't know, but we should be careful", he then saw dozens of bee wrigglers, his eyes widen "Uh...we got a bug problem".
He jumps out of the way before they all crash through the window, citezens screamed and ran out of the room, leaving the 2 of them alone, Gin sees this and has the urge to scream as well...but she must remain strong, but then someone climbs through the broken window, the leader of the clan.
Gin held her sword tightly, demanding answers "Who are you?!", Mera wore a smile, a smile of maliciousness "I'm Merraid Oarburgh, pleased to meet you", Gin stayed calm...keeping an eye on her movements.
"You want to kill us don't you?" she asked, the lady responded with a shrug "Of coarse, all the men will die by my hands, but for the girls...i'll give you a choice..", Natala pulls out his shingu, ready to attack "What do you mean by that?", she turns with an unamused look "You men disgust me, especially a certain friend of yours".
Gin gets into her battle stance, still confused on what she is trying to say "What's with the discrimination?", Mera holds out her hand to command her wrigglers to approach "I hate men and adore women, what else do I have to say?", this statement confuses yet angers both of them.
Natala has had enough, he runs with a furious swing, only for Mera to catch his weapon and flip him over, he attempts to attack again only for her to begin using her hand to hand skills, she uses a couple chops and punches to his face, she punches his stomach...causing him to crash into a wall.
"Natala!" Gin yelled, she pointed her blade towards the enemy "You will pay for hurting him", Mera only laughed, as if she wasn't serious at all "He's not hurt that badly, do you really care that much about this...boy?".
She lunged for a swift attack at Mera, only to be dodged, "What is she, her speed is incredible..." Gin thought, Mera didn't attack back just yet, still wanting to talk more with her "I'll give you a choice...you can join me and you and you friend can live, or you will die like the rest...".
She shook her head, not wanting any of it "No way, I'm not joining someone who wears slutty clothes", this angered Mera and she moved her left hand forward "Attack!", her wrigglers fly furiously, Gin prepares herself for an intense fight.
(Fate/Zero - The battle is to the strong)
Back outside Daikon was on the offensive, he lands a punch to Taeko's face then kicks her upwards, she crashed on a building and falls back down, she was hurt...but not taken out of the fight "He's still a strong opponent, I can't let my guard down" she thought.
He sprints towards her direction and aimed a stab, Taeko parries the attack with a swing and kicks his gut with her knee, causing him to be stunned for a brief second, she punched him back and pushed him away with both her feet.
He crouched on the ground, holding his stomach before holding his blade with both hands once more "She's fast, no wonder the leader decided to bring her along", Taeko gets ready to attack "The leader wants you dead, but she wants to kill you herself..." she says devoid of emotion.
"Me?" he asks confused, she nods "Yes, Mera wants to make you pay for Cass's death" then she dashes with incredible speed, Daikon managed to react fast enough to block, he stared into her eyes with determination "Either way I'll put a stop to your plans".
Gin breaths heavily as she is badly hurt, blood covered almost half of her face, her clothes were torn, Mera stared down at her, she already declared her victory "This is your last chance, give up and join me or die", the blonde was on the floor, slowly trying to get up.
She grits her teeth, refusing to back down, she thought of all her friends that kept her going, the sweet memories she had, she wasn't gonna give them up, Gin stood up in a clumsy fashion, standing her ground against the menace "Fuck...you...".
Mera's eyes twitched with anger, as if she couldn't stand the thought of her rejecting her offer "Very well...", as Mera came closer Gin swings her blade with one arm, only for the lady to grab the sword out of her hands and stab her through the stomach.
Gin coughs out blood, she didn't feel the pain much as most of her body was numb, Mera pulled the sword out and watched her fall back on the floor, still clinging to life, she sighed and threw the sword away "How infuriating, she could have been a nice pet".
She turned to Natala, still unconscious from the brief fight, "I'll let you live, witness the failure of your friend..." she mutters, Mera leaves the room without a second thought, leaving Gin alive without realizing, the room was quiet...leaving the girl with her thoughts.
Daikon shouts with a white aura surrounding him, he kicks Taeko forward through the streets and watched her roll backwards, the girl stood up wiping the blood off her mouth "He's more of a problem than I thought, this won't be easy for Mera" she mutters.
He was about to attack again until he sees where they are, at the back of the inn, "The inn!" he shouts in panic, Taeko lets him go as she lays against a building, the fight left her exhausted "I'm sorry Akame, I'd rather fight you honorably...but our leader wants you".
Daikon climbs the building, hoping everyone is alright, he hops through a broken window...and sees her "Gin?!", he rushes to her, looking at all her wounds, there was a few bug bites and bruises on her skin, his heart beats faster...he was scared about what's gonna happen.
"D-Daikon?" her eyes stared into his, he was relieved to see her alive and asks "What happened?", she coughs before she can talk "Mera attacked, bugs...she attacks with bugs...", "Mera...so that's her name" he says, Taeko already told him her name, but now this confirmed her identity.
Gin continued to cough, making him worried further "It's gonna be ok, we'll save you...we'll get through this...", she still stared at him, feeling her life almost slipping away "Daikon...don't worry about me, you still have to save the others...don't you?".
He was shaking, his eyes were beginning to water, Gin quietly chuckled "You'll always be my friend...and I'll be watching your journey from here on...you'll be the one to survive...not me..", his voice was quivering "Gin...you can't die...you can't...".
She smiled, remembering all the times they spent, all the missions they've done, their friendship was good while it lasted, Gin stared at the ceiling, her job being done "Go Daikon...find your mother, protect Kurome, live on and defeat your enemies...you can do that for me right?".
Her eyes began fading and her head dropped down, Daikon had lost a friend for the first time...he closed his eyes as he mourned for her, after a minute he stood up, wiping the tears from his eyes, he looked ahead with a serious frown, determined to find Mera.
It was then that he heard the sound of battle, he quickly sprinted through the hallways, as soon as he saw the entrance door he kicked it open, he looked around then saw Kurome unconscious...along with Akame, Gilberda stood over them, then...Mera.
It was clear that this dark haired woman was the one who killed Gin, he wore an angry face as he clenched his right fist "MERA!", the woman smirked, crossing her arms, meeting the one she despised for the first time "So you must be Daikon...i'll be the one to kill you personally".
The atmosphere darkened as the clouds covered the sun, they stared at each other from a safe distance, Daikon was furious while Mera remained confident, Taeko stood up watching from a distance "They now meet" she thought, it was now completely silent...and the first match is about to begin.
To be continued...
