Chapter 8:

The next time Weiwei logged into the game she was summoned to the guild house for a meeting. She didn't think there was anything out of the ordinary after all there was a big event coming up and Zhan Tianxia did like to keep the guild informed of such events. By the time she had arrived it looked like a majority of the guild was already there and had been there for a while. Weiwei was already starting to suspect something when everyone stopped chatting the moment that she appeared. So when Leishen Nini privately messaged her informing her that Xiaoyu Qingqing has been spreading rumors that Weiwei has been making the guild look bad. Weiwei was already on her guard.

"I am here as requested. I apologize for not being online for a while now. I had some personal matters come up and finals will be starting soon." Weiwei typed pretending that she had no idea what was going on.

"Luwei Weiwei." Zhan Tianxia typed. "It has come to my attention that in the last few months you have continuously caused the guild to lose face and it has all stemmed from when you started associating with an outsider. For starters, your shameful actions during Zhen Shaoxiang and Xiaoyu Yaoyao's wedding procession."

Weiwei cut in. "You mean when I was away from the keyboard on a bridge prior to the wedding procession which I did not know was coming when I stepped away from my computer and returned with a bunch of people calling for me to kidnap the groom. I made the call to appear that I was not aware of the procession and started to sell some of the potions I happened to have on my person to get the crowds to stop making a spectacle. After all, it would have looked much worse if I just logged off and would cause gossip to continue."

Zhan Tianxia flustered and then tried to turn it back onto Weiwei being in the wrong. "Yes, you sold potions that were made from the guild's storehouse. Essentially stealing from the guild…"

The swordswoman in red cut the guild leader off. "And who was the one who contributed the most to the store house? Are you seriously reprimanding me because I sold potions that I made from ingredients that I harvested?"

The members in the guild started to pipe out that they've made potions from the guild stores and sold them in the past and never gotten reprimanded before.

The guild leader couldn't win his point this way and tried a new tactic. "I'll overlook it but then there are the reports picking on weaker characters not to mention that husband of your's demanding a pvp battle with one of our own. I cannot abide having someone in our guild in an ingame partnership with someone who looks down on us. Luwei Weiwei I am going to have to insist that you break your relationship with Yixiao Naihe and if you still need a spouse for the couple battle to pick one from within the guild."

Weiwei looked at the screen in shock. What has happened to her guild? She took a deep breath before replying. What she was about to do was going to be painful but she could see no other choice. She started to type at a rapid pace. "So let me make sure that I understand what you are saying, Guild Leader Zhan Tianxia. I am not allowed to retaliate when someone calls me various unspeakable names and my in-game husband is also not allowed to defend my honor when people in this very guild bad mouth me?" She paused as various guild members whom were originally on Zhan Tianxia start to try to defend the ruling. "Certain members of this guild have repeatedly badmouthed me not only on the global chat but on the online forum. Yet they get no reprimand. Oh yes, I've heard about the video of them having a spoof character of me."

Weiwei was growing frustrated at this conversation. "What honor have they brought to this guild? What treasures? I am pretty sure what I have contributed more in a night than what they have combined since they've joined this guild." Weiwei sighed. "This is not the guild that I originally joined. It has allowed itself to be controlled by people who thrive on needless drama. I can no longer be a part of this. I, Luwei Weiwei, chose to leave the Jade Seas Rising Tide guild. I will still look upon many of you as friends but I refuse to be a part of this foolishness any longer." and with that Weiwei clicked on the leave guild option and logged off just as the system wide announcement of her quitting hit.

The members that were online at the Jade Seas Rising Tide were all in shock that Luwei Weiwei quit. She was their guild's highest ranking member on the PK board. How were they going to keep their guild's ranking when the guild battles start again?

Zhen Shaoxiang looked at his screen in shock, she wasn't supposed to quit. How was he going to woo her now without revealing he knew who she was? She had already turnt down the internship that he offered. From what he overheard in his father's office Xiao Nai's compatriot denied the offer that his father had given. He didn't understand it. Why were these people unswayed by money and power? The ringing from his cell phone broke his train of thought. Glancing at it he noticed it was his cousin. He didn't think his aunt would give Meng Yiran her phone back. "Hello." he greeted.

"Mom, gave me my phone back so I could say goodbye to my friends but every single one of them turnt on me." Zhen Shaoxiang could hear the pouting that Meng Yiran was doing over the phone.

Zhen Shaoxiang eternally sighed before asking in his most charming voice "Why do you think they turned against you?"

"It came to light when someone falsely claimed that Bei Weiwei had a sugar daddy. It was exposed that she has been actually tutoring a handycapped kid so people are now being more protective of her. My so-called friends said they can't risk association with me especially since they found out she and Xiao Nai are dating. Nana said that if anyone says anything against Bei Weiwei the members of the technology department have been known to publish any dirty secret of the person on the forums as well as multiple hacking occurrences. No one wants to go against Xiao Nai or the entirety of the technology department. Then Nana had the gall to tell me that no one wanted to deal with a stuck up spoiled princess who was only voted as the prettiest girl on campus because Bei Weiwei's entry was submitted by someone covertly taking her photo and entering her. Nana claims Bei Weiwei would have won if she actually cared to enter with a photo that wasn't blurry. I don't understand. Just a couple weeks ago they were all telling me that Bei Weiwei was jealous of my beauty and was just trying to be helpful to make herself look good. Now they are all on her side. I thought they were my friends. Why would they take her side? I'm rich and pretty, why do they clammer after a nobody like Bei Weiwei? What can she give them that I cannot?" Meng Yiran was in hystaric tears by the time she finished her tirade.

Zhen Shaoxiang did his best to placate his cousin while contemplating the information his cousin revealed. The quest for attaining Bei Weiwei just got much more difficult.
