Hey everyone!

So it appears that this month I am late on both batches of updates. Work has been so hectic and then Father's Day drained me as well so I haven't felt much like writing. Hopefully that will change now. I also had my first COVID vaccination today so the next few days are going to be interesting.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

Breaking Traditions-Part 46:

The days wore on a little and gradually Rosalie was beginning to settle down at Malfoy Manor, much to the relief of Lucius and Narcissa, who were loving every minute they could get with their daughter. What was helping was that three of the grandparents were camped out at the Manor meaning that Rosalie could get used to being with them all at the same time.

"I think we're finally beginning to get somewhere with Rosa," Lucius said softly as he and Narcissa were sat in the sunroom enjoying some time alone and quiet time as Rosalie was asleep.

"Yes indeed but it won't be much longer until she starts staying awake for longer and then our peaceful time will be shattered," Narcissa said with a chuckle as she sipped of her drink, "You'll be glad to get back to work Luc and you know it."

"Don't remind me. I am not looking forwards to having to leave you and Rosa," Lucius said with a groan as he looked at his wife and then at their sleeping daughter in her basket, "I want her to stay awake longer but I do enjoy the quiet as well," he said and Narcissa nodded as Snowy was laid at her feet, "almost feels like there are two babies in this house at times," he said with a slight smirk on his face.

A couple of days later and the day arrived that Lucius had been dreading. He had to return to reality and attend a meeting with the Minister of Magic.

"What time is the meeting?" Abraxas asked as he walked into his son's study to find Lucius looking over some notes.

"45 minutes and I do not want to go. I don't want to leave them. I knew this day would come… but I'm worried that something will happen to them," he said with a sigh and looked up as Abraxas leant against his desk, the same one that he'd worked from in his days as Lord of the Manor.

"Lucius… your mother and I are here as well as Cygnus and you can be sure that no harm will come to either of them with us here," Abraxas said and rested a hand on his son's shoulder, "they will be perfectly safe here. No go… please. You have to face this at some point," he said softly and Lucius nodded before he headed off to the Ministry of Magic.

He walked into the atrium before heading down to the Minister's office and knocked on the door and waited for the signal that he could enter. He then walked in and smiled at the Minister and sat down opposite him.

"Someone is happy… if not slightly nervous. First time leaving them if I'm not mistaken…" Fudge said and Lucius nodded as he looked at the Minster.

"Yes. My parents and Cygnus are there but I'm fearing that I have separation anxiety and that is something I was warned about but wasn't expecting it to hit like this," he said as he sipped on the whisky, "little early for alcohol maybe…" he said with an eyebrow raised.

"Never too early when business is involved Lucius," the Minister said.

The two carried on talking about trivial things; the Minister bringing Lucius up to speed on what he'd missed and Lucius thanking the Minister for everything he'd done to get Rosalie to them quickly because it mean the world to Narcissa.

"Now there is a true business reason why I have called you here today. I know that you're not ready for serious work yet but I have a proposition for you involving the Vineyards…" the Minister started.

"I am listening."

"Well if you agree to it then I wish for the Malfoy Vineyards to be the official suppliers for every Ministry event that we hold here," the Minister said, "basically I wish to make an exclusive deal with you," he said.

"Can I think it over and speak to Narcissa? This should involve her as well as she is my partner," Lucius quizzed and the Minister nodded.

Meanwhile Narcissa was in the sunroom with Snowy as she'd barely played with her kitten since Rosalie's arrival and she felt bad so was sat playing with Snowy before the kitten decided to try and climb up the legs to Rosalie's basket stand causing Narcissa to grab Snowy, laughing softly.

"Snowy you cannot get to Baby Rosalie yet. I don't want either of you to get hurt," she said before showing the kitten the baby asleep. She smiled before watching as Snowy kept trying to get to Rosalie and Narcissa kept the two separate before realising that Snowy wasn't showing off her claws… just her paws, "are you wanting to snuggle Rosa?" she asked before carefully putting the kitten into Rosalie's basket, keeping her hands close in case she needed to grab Snowy quickly.

She didn't need to, however, as Snowy moved to near Rosalie's head and then curled up by the baby and began to fall asleep. Narcissa was surprised and shocked at her kitten's actions and, after making sure that everything was ok, she summoned a book and sat down to read keeping an eye on Rosalie and Snowy. The last thing she wanted was either getting hurt. She watched the two and hoped that they would become friends in the future.

She had just settled back down to reading her book when Priscilla arrived and went over to the basket.

"These two appear to be doing well then," she said as she looked into the basket.

"I was rather surprised and thought Snowy was going to hurt Rosa and then I saw that she was showing her paws and not her claws so I put her in the basket and you can see what she did," Narcissa said as she put her book down.

"I am surprised but also relieved that these two appear to be getting along," Priscilla said as she sat down next to Narcissa, "hopefully they will be good friends as they grew up."

"Hopefully," Narcissa said with a smile, "hopefully they will."
