On the rooftop of one of the buildings, Aldis curled up crying alone, 'why did I say that I am such a fool.'
"There you are, lassie."
"Merlin?"
"You didn't complete your task, so I came to find you," Merlin said
"But Merlin, you were not supposed to be back this early," she wiped her tears.
"Ho ho, I heard that the keyblade wielder arrived, so I thought I might return early to see him."
"Oh, Sora, he is my little brother and friend. I could get him for you."
"No, no, there will be no need for that," he stopped her from getting up. "I will see him tomorrow if I may; all that matters right now is you what is wrong?"
She looked up at the stars "...I was thinking about my childhood in the islands; you see, Sora, Riku, and Kairi are my childhood friend though Kairi came much later; Riku wasn't fond of me at first, but we still managed to be friends somehow at that age. We grew up together in the town, and I tried to get along with everyone. In other words, I was happy".
"I see"
"Mhm, it was all good till a few weeks ago, Riku opened the door, and because of that, we lost our world. I can't even find my other friends Tidus, Wakka and Selphie" the tears started flowing again "neither can I find ma and pa and all of these I thought was it was his fault" Merlin sighed sadly.
"And I don't know how to feel… why did our friendship turn out this way?"
Merlin placed his hand on her head " you did nothing wrong, sometimes the truth is hard to see, but you love your friend enough to tell him, do you?"
"Yes, I do. I love Riku so much."
"Then there is no need to feel bad about it; you have done all you could now it is time to fight back and bring back your friends."
"Um, really" she gave a weak smile.
"Though you have to continue your training first" he placed his hand on her head; she immediately lowered her head.
"But maybe," he continued, " I may send you on a mini-mission, maybe you could gather information regarding your friend Kairi" he gave her a sweet smile.
Aldis's face brighten in excitement " yes, yes! I will continue to train under you" she stood up and bowed.
"Before we continue though," Merlin waved his hand, "I wanted to introduce you to someone."
Merlin swirled his wand around, "meet fairy godmother" some dust appeared in the air and combined to form a figure which stood beside Merlin.
"Fairy godmother" Ah! Are you an actual fairy" she grinned; she was surprised to see one appear before her "this is so cool! do you grant wishes?"
"Only if you believe, dear."
"I believe," Aldis quickly said
"Now now dear, my magic is limited to a few people, one of them being cinderella," she (sadly) sighed, "who I can't find anywhere after our world fell to darkness."
"Your world fell too?" Aldis asked
"Yes, sadly, that is why I want to help so the darkness will finally be defeated." The fairy godmother said, " I believe that your friend is capable of saving the worlds; we are here to teach him" Merlin continued
"Ah ok," she bowed again, "I will tell him to delay his travel and learn magic with me tomorrow; I will see you later" She jumps down from the roof and happily ran off to the third district while Merlin and Fairy godmother watches her go.
"So what do u think of your new apprentice?" the fairy turned to Merlin
"She is a fast learner," he answered
"Is that all? Huh, I think she is a cute one," she said
"No, not really, there is something about her. Her magical powers and skills are different and familiar," Merlin said
"Oh, I see. Would you like to know more about the child?" she asked
"No, I think I already know all that I need to know; I rather just train her as she is and guide her on the right path."
Aldis rushed back to the third district to tell Sora the good news
"Hey Aldis, you are back," he greeted. Sora, Donald and Goofy were the only ones in the small cabin "you sure took your sweet time; the others went to look for you," Sora said
"I was told to wait here in case you came back, so I don't get lost," he said
"Oh...sorry," Aldis said
"Don't worry, I saw the way you fight, so I knew you would be ok" he smiled, but that smile quickly faded "by the way, I saw Riku…."
Aldis's eyes widen, and she placed her hand on her chest. "I saw him too."
"And I was thrilled to see him too," he continued "when I tried to invite him to join us to find Kairi, he just left."
"He told me that you and I have some new friends, and I have forgotten about Kairi and him."
Sora took a step forward "but-"
"Yes, I know that is not true," Aldis said. "Riku may have misunderstood, and I did not do much to understand or clarify; I just got angry."
"Just because I have new friends doesn't mean I will forget about him …..I would never" her lips trembled.
Sora nodded and said, "I will never forget you, Riku and Kairi."
Aldis smiled softly "that is why I can't come with you on your journey even if I want to."
"Huh"
"I want to train to become stronger for Riku and Kairi, and I don't want to be a burden."
Sora smiled and held her hands "don't worry. I will find Riku and Kairi, then we will go home together". Aldis smiled back, and they both shared a hug "let's do our best."
Donald and Goofy, who were behind them, smiled as well. After a moment of silence, "oh," the door swung open to reveal Yuffie, Aerith, Leon and Cid, "There you are, Aldis," Yuffie said
"We brought dinner," Aerith said
Both Sora and Aldis's eyes widen in excitement. "Food" they bought said in unison.
Outside the building, Riku watched as Aldis and Sora laughs and have fun with the others. Then, he frowns before disappearing into the darkness with Maleficient.
So yea, it has been a while, I know. Hopefully, you guys are doing well.
