I'd love to start this story with me doing something brave or heroic.

But, truthfully? The only thing I could think as I fell underground was:

"AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Ok, let me back up. I was climbing the tall mountain outside of my village. Mt. Ebbott, I think it was called. Anyway, there was a gaping hole at the top, as if God had missed the pitch playing Divine Baseball, and it landed here. I tried to get closer, but I tripped on a vine and fell in.

Kinda gave you the barebones info, but if you've ever read about the story of Undertale, where a human named Frisk fell into the world of monsters, then you already know how this all started. (Barebones… Papyrus would like that…) Oh, right… you can see what I'm thinking… I guess that kinda gave away who I am.

I'm Frisk. Let me tell you how I freed the monsters from the Underground. Hm? Oh, right, you've heard this story before… Um… How to make this interesting… Oh! I know! You've heard the story from the perspective of an all-knowing being who knows what's going to happen next. But let me tell you how I saw it happen. I'll only tell you what I knew at that point in time. Sound good?... No? Too bad, because I'm already starting.

So, I landed in a patch of soft, yellow flowers. I honestly had no clue where I was or where I should go, so I just walked through the open gate at the other end of the cavern. To my surprise, someone, or more accurately, someTHING, was waiting for me.

"Howdy! Don't think I've seen you around here before!", said the small, yellow flower in the grass. Don't ask me how a flower was talking to me like an equal, because I was just as confused then as you probably are now. "I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!", it continued. "You must be SO lost. I wish someone better was here to teach you how things worked, but I guess I'll have to do." Suddenly, everything went pitch-black. Then, I was stuck in a large, white box, but not the kind you ship things with. It was more like a room without a ceiling. I could see Flowey standing over the box, looking in. As I was taking all of this in, a small red heart appeared in front of me. "That heart is your SOUL.", Flowey explained. "It is the very culmination of your being. It's weak right now but can grow stronger. Now, I have a gift for you." A few white seed-looking things appeared on either side of him. "These are 'friendliness pellets'. If you catch them, they will make your SOUL stronger. Move around, get them!" I tried to move my legs, but nothing seemed to happen. I looked down and saw that my body had disappeared. Then I had a thought: move my SOUL. Sure enough, it seemed to move wherever I wanted it to. I went to catch the pellets, but when they made contact with my soul, I heard a thud. The pain was almost unbearable. I nearly passed out. "You idiot", Flowey said with a twisted grin. "Who would pass up an opportunity like this!?" The pellets formed a circle all around me. "Die." I couldn't believe that this was happening. Was this really how I was going to go out? The circle of bullets got tighter, tighter, and then…

I felt better. The pain stopped, and the ring of bullets disappeared. Flowey looked even more confused than I was. "Huh?" A small fireball then materialized next to him. It knocked him away, and a different monster came into view. "What a horrible being, torturing such an innocent youth," said the monster. It looked like a goat, but it was wearing a purple robe with some odd symbol on it, almost like a family crest. It also stood on two legs. "Do not worry. I am Toriel, the caretaker of the RUINS. It has been quite some time since a human has fallen down. I come by every day to see if someone has fallen in." The Ruins? Then I realized that the Ruins must be where I was now. "Why did you rescue me?" I inquired. I'd never met this woman (sorry, goat) before, but she acted as if she was my mother. "I will have to explain later. For now, why don't you accompany me to my home? It is not far." I decided I didn't have any better options (or any options at all, for that matter), and I followed her out of the cavern.
