Late
Fudge couldn't believe it! Her first arranged interview! She was going on RSN's late night show with Brent Mustangburger!
"Good evening, race fans!" Brent Mustangburger began. "Welcome to Racing Sports Network's Late Night Show! I'm Brent Mustangburger and we've got a big week of racing news to get through. So, let's get into it. Starting with Lightning McQueen's abrupt return to racing. McQueen joins us now, with his cheerleader, Fudge Rossi-Topolino. McQueen, why return so late in the season?"
"Well, Brent, it just seemed like the right time", Lightning explained. "My cheerleader's getting better; I'm getting better and I don't wanna wait until February to get back out on the track."
"And, Fudge", Brent addressed the thirteen-year-old, "what do you make of McQueen's return?"
"I think it's great!" Fudge proclaimed sincerely. "It's... It's been a tough year, so I'm glad we're finally back at the track where we belong."
The interview went on for a long time. The human girl was getting exhausted. It was late (well, duh! That's why they called it the late show!) and she got tired very easily. Nobody was paying much attention to her. Brent and the cameras were all focused on Lightning, who was describing the difficult year he'd had with Fudge in hospital. Maybe nobody would notice if she closed her eyes for just a minute.
"What was that like for you, Fudge?" Brent wanted to know. "It could not have been easy for you."
To his surprise, Brent's question was met with silence. Everyone turned to Fudge, only to find her slumped in the leather armchair, fast asleep.
Lightning smiled. "One of the side effects, I'm afraid. Her medication makes her sleepy."
Brent smiled too. "I guess that answers that question."
