Started this story years ago, decided to pick it up again now after needing some sort of stress relief. So this story is based off of the different types of love in this world that we'll learn about as the story goes on and I thought "what if Cupid had children based on these love types" and thus this story was born.

There's a lot of Jack/OC stories out there, this will be more of a one-sided Jack/OC story. This chapter is more of an introductory chapter, telling you about the OC, Jack truly comes in at Chapter 3.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Disclaimer for the entire story: I don't own Rise of the Guardians or Cupid, only the OCs that I create.

So far, in their long lives, they have seen each other a total of three times. Only three times. Well, two of those three were just brief glimpses.

The very first time they meet, only he saw her. It was a cool day, the wind harshly blowing in and nipping at the noses of the humans. But love rang through the air. He remembered sitting high up in a tree, the leaves slowly falling off towards the ground to find a new home. For him only, the wind caressed his cheeks softly, blowing his hair back. He remembered watching her from a distant, peering from the branches as she swooped in low to the ground, the wings on her back flapping powerfully.

Very carefully, fingers gripping tightly on what looked like a bow, the girl –with her free hand- reached behind her, pulling out an arrow carefully. The drawstring on her bow was pulled back, arrow positioned. The boy watched with interest as she took aim at a boy sitting on a bench scrolling on his phone. A girl sat away from him under the shade of a tree, knees close to her body as she carefully turned the page of her book.

The arrow was released, hitting the back of the boy on the bench. He grunted and looked up, eyes catching sight of the girl across from him. A smile grew on his face and after he stuffed his phone in his back pocket, the boy stood up quickly to walk over to the girl.

Sitting up in the tree still, the boy tore his attention away from the soon-to-be couple and searched for the girl that shot the arrow. She was long gone.

The second time they meet, only she saw him. It was dark outside, chilly. But the girl merely shrugged on a large jacket as she landed on top of a roof, gazing out at the town. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and smiled, feeling her bow bounce against her back and wings as her eyes trailed across the sky. That's when she spotted him high up in the air, staff in hand as snow fell from the clouds. He was making it snow!

She watched him carefully flip through the sky, laughing the whole way as more snowflakes fluttered to the ground. She never tore her eyes from the boy as he flew close to the ground, icing the roads along the way. A smile decorated most of his face as he turned upwards, icing over the windows of the houses with beautiful designs.

Watching with awe at the way he flew, the girl stepped closer to the edge of the roof, breathing out heavily. Her breath came in wisps, freezing the moment it left her mouth. The corners of her lips slowly turned upwards as she neared even closer to the edge.

The boy disappeared behind a rather tall house, and the girl hopped up, eager to see the boy. She dashed through the sky, nearing the house where the boy disappeared from. When she got there, the boy wasn't behind the house. He was long gone.

Fortunately, they met a third time. It was this third time that changed both of their lives. For better or worse? That hasn't been decided yet as it could topple either way.

There he was, standing atop a high building. He stood on the very edge, body leaning forward to stare down at the chaos happening below him. His bare feet shifted slightly in a sort of eagerness, like they wanted to jump down to the ground and join the fray. His hands were laced behind his back, fingers wrapped tightly together. There was a large smile on his face, a mischievous smile, a few soft chuckles escaped past his lips. His eyes were locked on in concentration that they didn't notice the girl standing on the building opposite of him.

The girl eyed him carefully, noticing that his concentration was on the people below him All he had to do was look up and he would spot her immediately. But he didn't, giving the girl all the time she needed. She quickly tied her long blonde hair, that normally reached the small of her back, into a low ponytail. Once that was done, the girl slipped the bow off of her shoulders, left hand clutching onto the oaken wood tightly. She shifted her feet slightly, pink shoes scuffling the top of the building. Left foot in front of the right, she thought to herself. She pushed her shoulders back, reaching behind her, past her large, white, feather wings to grab an arrow from her quiver.

When she latched the arrow onto the string of her bow and pulled back on it, guiding the arrow to her face where the feathers rested near her cheek, her white shirt lifted slightly along with her pink, crop top jacket. Shoulders back, hold the string with two fingers, rest the tip of the arrow on your left hand. She listened to the instructions in her head. The boy in front of her still hadn't noticed her.

She aimed right for him, moving her body only slightly to do so. Her eyes were locked onto him, unaware of her surroundings. Breathe in, breathe out. Release. Once her fingers unhooked from the string, the arrow left the bow, propelled from the momentum of the bow and flying through the air. It was headed straight towards its target. It neared him and when the arrow was halfway there, the boy finally looked up, his gray eyes locking onto her green ones. He looked confused, but it only took seconds for the boy to see the arrow.

He moved to the side and the arrow rushed past him, scraping part of his black locks. His grayish lips were pulled back in a scowl as he watched the arrow soar past him. His black hair, as dark as a raven's feathers, settled down from his movement. His bangs were long, parted to the side where it covered one of his gray eyes. He wore a light gray shirt, wrinkled and gross. His loose black pants barely fit him unlike her tighter ones.

The girl let out a small growl at her miss. If he didn't look up, she easily would have taken him out and stopped the mess he was causing. She quickly reached behind her, pulling another arrow out quickly and notching it, taking aim once again back at the boy. But she didn't release it and instead held it in a threatening manner.

The boy stood there in a defensive stance, fingers twitching towards the belt he wore where she could spot the glint of a silver knife. "Well," he spoke, his voice gravely and hoarse, "If it isn't an Agent of Love. What are you doing way out here?" His gray eyes held malice for her. Pothos, a spirit of envy. He had the ability to cause anyone to feel jealousy and envy to another. He was the one causing the mess below, starting unnecessary fights between innocent people. He caused two friends to fight, random people to become jealous of each other, a woman to accuse her husband of something he never did. There was no love in this city at the moment and it was Adara's job to help fix that.

"I could ask you the same question, Pothos," she snarked back. "Don't move!" He froze again, his hand trying to inch closer to his waist. Pothos continued to scowl at her, an annoyed look in his eyes. Her wings flapped behind her, ruffling slightly.

"How about this, girly. Why don't you put the bow down, you continue on your merry way spreading love and I'll continue on my merry way spreading jealousy."

Adara let out a huff and rolled her eyes. Her right arm was starting to ache as she continued to hold onto the string. "My job is to stop your hate here and replace it with love instead. My job is to stop you." And it was with that that she finally allowed her right arm to relax as she released the arrow once again. But Pothos easily saw this arrow coming and dodged flawlessly to the side, taking the time to grab his knife.

Adara took to the skies and effortlessly flew across the gap to the other building with Pothos on it. She transitioned her bow to use it directly as a weapon. Letting out a small war cry, Adara aimed her bow to hit Pothos, slashing the weapon in a downward arc. Unfortunately for her, the envious spirit was quick and managed to twist out of the way before sending his own attack by attempting a strike near her stomach with his knife.

It was with great agility that Adara twisted out of the way, transitioning her bow once again to hit at his now exposed arm. She heard a crack, and the boy cried out, his hand dropping the knife as he managed to step away from her and put some distance between them. Pothos was cradling his left arm, holding it close to his body as he sneered angrily at her. The fingers of his right arm were locked around his elbow and his body shifted slightly so his left arm was partially out of view. He was on the defensive once again, giving Adara time to aim another arrow directly at him.

She was closer this time, it would be harder for him to dodge out of the way fast enough. She clearly had the advantage of this fight. Adara tried to hold the smile back at that thought, feeling a rush of pride course through her body as she could practically see her near victory. Not much longer, she thought proudly as a smirk slowly formed on her face, not allowing it to travel up further into that smile.

"You think you're so great, huh?" Pothos hissed. His gray eyes were wide with fury, his top lip curled up in a growl. "You and your family think you're so great because you represent love."

Adara let out a small giggle at his words as she agreed with him, "Yes, actually. Look at where you are and where I am. In a matter of seconds, I defeated you."

"Tell me, Love Agent," Pothos started, "What is love without envy? What is love without hate?" The questioning confused her, and Adara rolled her eyes at it. Was he really trying to put envy and hate on an equal level with love. Ha! He probably was just trying to distract her, it was better to end this now.

With confidence, Adara answered back, "Love will always be love. Without envy, without hate, love will always be there. Envy and hate are useless in our world when there is love around." She liked her answer, she thought it to be eloquent, grown-up. Her father would have been proud of her if he would have heard it.

"Are you really so sure?" He backed up slowly, Adara letting him as she carefully trained the arrow to point towards him. He backed up until he reached the edge of the building, part of his heels sticking off. "One day, girl, that confidence of yours will turn against you. I can't wait for the day to finally come, when love itself destroys you and rips you to pieces."

Before Adara could even think about what he said, Pothos tipped back, allowing himself to fall off of the edge of the building. Frustrated that he distracted her, Adara put her bow down, rushing towards where he stood. When she looked down, the spirit of envy wasn't there falling, he simply vanished into thin air. Cursing to herself under her breath, Adara replaced the arrow back in the sheath, her large wings ruffling in annoyance that he was able to get away so easily.

A shout from down below near the streets managed to catch her attention though. She peered down, her eyes gazing upon the fighting couple, the woman pointing an accusatory finger at her husband as she shrieked angrily at him. Her eyes shifted towards the fighting friends, and then to the group of strangers huddling about, yelling about something unknown. Her hand reached behind her once again, grabbing a different kind of arrow. When she pulled it out, instead of the sharp point of a weapon at the end, there was a red heart.

Adara smiled to herself as her fingers traced the red heart. Flapping her wings until she was in the air again, she said aloud to herself, "Time to get to work."

Again, introductory chapter, I know those can be boring... but it's gotta be done. Jack will be in at chapter 3, and the other guardians will also play heavily in those story.
