It was pretty early in the morning when Sam was woken up by the sound of The Galaxy Wars theme going off. Well early for her at least. Groggily she looked around for the cause of her annoyance. She was in deep slumber and dreaming of fat cakes and ham after all. That would undoubtedly aggravate her. Except for the fact that it was the alarm on Freddie's phone. As she discovered by searching around impatiently on the table next to her. In a moment her frustration turned to a sigh of relief. Immediately followed by a tiny smile that had crept upon her face. She noticed his background image was the same photo on her phone. Though she made no hesitation in silencing the alarm. She could do without Galaxy Wars. For now at least but it had grown on her. If only because it was something that made Freddie happy. But she hated to admit that it wasn't as bad as she tried to make him believe. Still she thought where in the heck was her boyfriend to let her awaken by herself at 8am of all things. It was then that he came walking through the doorway of his dorm carrying a large plate of ham and cheese omelets sausage bacon and a large glass of Hi-B. Her smile was even wider now as she tossed his phone onto the bed. He had brought her food and her stomach grumbled in delight.

" Sorry about the alarm I was a bit busy as you can tell. " He said with a smirk while setting the plate down on the bed and the Hi-B on the side table.

" Don't worry you brought meat and eggs all is forgiven. This time. " She replied while cackling maniacally.

Freddie just laughed in response while they both began to eat.

" Man I didn't know you knew how to cook. " Sam said with a mouthful of bacon.

" Well I had to figure some things out on my own with my mom always pulling long shifts at the hospital. And I sure as heck didn't want to eat tofu surprise or cauliflower pancakes for the rest of my life. " He grimaced at the thought of all the health food his mom made him eat through his childhood.

Sam thought to herself that they were more like each other than she thought. She had to teach herself how to cook as well but for very different reasons. The first time she tried to make bacon it nearly started a fire. Luckily there was a fire extinguisher nearby. At 14 her mom wasn't even there. She was just hooking up with some random dude at some concert or some chiz like that. Sam must have had a disgruntled look on her face as Freddie noticed.

" Everything ok with the food? " He asked a bit concerned.

" Oh yeah..."

She paused for a moment and thought to herself that she should try to be as honest with him as she could. After all she did love him and he loved her. Its just that opening up to people has never been her strong suit but he was different. He was the guy she could open up to without having to feel judged or pitied.

" Yeah the foods great hun. I was just thinking back to the first time I tried to make bacon and how I almost burnt the house down... " She laughed for a moment while carrying on.

" God I sound like Spencer. Ha! Well not really the whole house but I did start a tiny grease fire. It helps to have a fire extinguisher handy. It's great that my dad was a fire fighter. He always had one handy and thankfully we still had it. I swear it was a life saver. Like you said you had to learn how to cook because your mom would be at work. I was the same way I guess... " Her voice trailed off while her face scrunched up slightly.

" Good old Pam Puckett was once again nowhere to be seen. But honestly its for the best. Sometimes its better when shes not around. I've always felt that her house was more my house than hers anyway. Its not like she uses it as a home. " She stopped talking for a moment while looking over at Freddie.

" Sorry I'm not trying to sound all bitter. Just happy to have someone like you who I can truly confide in. " Sam stated as she continued to look in his direction.

Freddie took his hand in hers before speaking.

" I get it Sam. We both kinda had to grow up pretty quickly for very different reasons. But I'm glad you can confide in me. That you feel safe talking to me. " As he said that Sam shyly smiled in his direction.

" But what do you say instead of just sitting here. We make the most of our time together. Lets finish breakfast and I'll show you around. "

Sam nodded in agreement as they both scarfed down their food. She was done before Freddie of course. With a loud belch as she took a long drink and belched again. He shook his head while slowly finishing his food.

" That's my girl for sure. " He said while laughing as she shrugged her shoulders.

" Hell lets get in my car and we'll take a drive up to San Francisco. I got all day today and no classes tomorrow because of Labor Day. Its like thirty or so minutes up there. Well take in Fisherman's Wharf and whatever else we want. Drive across The Golden Gate Bridge. Ride a cable car. Eat some sourdough and fresh caught seafood. "

" Calm down Freddie. I'd love to. I'm sure you don't want to just spend all of our time together in your room or do you? " She said while smiling seductively and then sticking her tongue out at him playfully.

" Well it doesn't sound that bad does it? " He laughed while clearing the plate and drink.

" Nope but you said something about food. " She said while getting off the bed and tossing on a purple tank top and yoga pants.

" Well yeah that's how I get you to go anywhere isn't it? " He responded with a chuckle.

" It sure is Frednub. Now get your ass in gear. We ain't got all day. "

Playfully Sam slapped Freddie on the ass which almost caused him to drop the dish and forks. Luckily his balance wasn't that bad. Sam just shook her head.

" Yeah yeah yeah just let me rinse these off and toss them in the dishwasher. "

With that Freddie headed out of his room while Sam tossed on her sneakers. She thought about how this would be her second actual date with her boyfriend. And how this was the first time she would even be on a second date. Maybe she should wear something more than just a tank top and yoga pants. To her this was a second date and she was sure that Freddie would think so too. A small road trip to San Francisco would be a great way to spend the day with her new man. Two whole days with him would be pretty freaking sweet. As she sat on the bed Sam started to take off her shoes while Freddie walked back into the room.

" Uh Sam what are you doing? I thought you were ready to go babe. "

" Yeah I was but I was thinking that since this day trip is like our second date..." She ran her fingers through her blonde hair. " I should probably dress a little nicer than what I'm wearing. "

" Why? " Freddie stated.

" Why? Because I want to look nice for you. " She said while looking slightly annoyed.

" But you do look nice. Besides that I won't lie your ass looks great in those pants. " He said while she stood back up and turned her butt towards him a bit.

" Oh really? " She said with a sly grin.

" Most definitely. " He said while squeezing a cheek.

Sam laughed a bit at that as Freddie tossed off his t-shirt. She noticed again how well toned he had become over the last couple of years. Going to the gym did him good. Freddie tossed on a retro shirt of some old 80's cartoon and pulled on his jeans. Both him and Sam put on their sneakers. Freddie grabbed a small duffle bag and tossed in a change of clothes and toiletries while Sam went to the bathroom. Soon she walked out with her hair in a ponytail and her bag as well. Snatching up their phones and his keys they headed out of his room. As they entered the common area Freddie noticed Alex and Brandy playing a video game that Alex was having a hard time with.

" What's up guys? Seems like you aren't having any luck with the game buddy. " Freddie said in jest.

" Haha so funny. I can't help how good Brandy is at racing games. I'm getting the hang of it though. "

" Sure you are. By the way thanks for sleeping out here last night. "

" No problem bro but you might want to keep the volume down next time. " He said with a smirk.

Sam blushed a bit knowing that the people out in the common room more than likely heard them last night. Freddie however just shook his head while looking down at his feet.

" Yeah ok I'll do that. " He said while looking over at Sam who still looked a bit embarrassed.

" And you might want to remember to use the x button while taking those turns or you'll never beat Brandy. " Brandy chuckled at that.

Just as Freddie was about speak up another of his roommates walked up to him.

" Hey champ good work last night. " He said with a laugh while patting him on the back.

" Thanks Dylan. " He said sarcastically while carrying on. " Anyway guys were gonna head out and probably won't be back till tomorrow afternoon or evening. Gonna visit San Fran and take in a few sites before Sam has to leave. Catch you guys later. " He said while him and Sam headed for the door.

Once out of the house he turned to face Sam.

" Sorry about that. They're good guys we just all give each other a hard time. "

" It's fine. " She said while taking his hand as they headed for the car. " After all you offered me seafood. "

Soon they were in the car as Freddie put the windows down and cranked up the stereo as it blasted out some music. As they took off Sam looked out the window and sighed contentedly. Happy to be day tripping with a man she truly loved.
