Chapter 1
"Himawari, wake up."
"5 more minutes mom..."
"Wake up. It's 7.40"
Suzuki jumped out of bed. "7.40? I set my alarm for 7.20!"
"The batteries were dead."
7.50 am. She had dressed and brushed her teeth but had to skip breakfast and was now sprinting to school.Most would've given up hope of making it on time with the 15 minute walk and how school started at 8 sharp, but she didn't. She was faster and stronger than most and loved a challenge. She zoomed past several student and made it to school with a few minutes to spare.
"Hey don't you think that girl just now was cute?" Nendou asked. "Yeah, just like a model on TV. She's so fast, I could make her a top solider in my fight against Dark Reunion. "Shut up with ya stupid fantasy ya idiot!" " You're the idiot!"
"Yare yare, those two are bickering again. Since I can read minds I know she's running late for school and that she's a transfer student." Saiki thought to himself as Nendou and Kaidou were bickering with each other.
"We have a new student today," The teacher said as as she entered the classroom, almost everyone in the class shot up, eager to see who the new student was. Suzuki entered the classroom with a smile on her face, eager to make friends. "Himawari Suzuki." She said in a cheerful voice as she wrote her name on the black board. " It's that girl from earlier" Saiki thought to himself. Everyone was looking at her, taking in her features.She was very cute, two big purple eyes set in a face with pale evenly toned skin, an athletic body and silky, black chest length hair. " I just moved here from Hokkaido." She said
"Wow! She looks like a model!"
" It's that girl from earlier!"
"I want to date her!"
" She might be popular but I am the number one beauty in this school."
"Yare yare, hope she doesn't bother me. That would be really annoying." Saiki thought to himself. "Okay Suzuki, why don't you sit there." She said as she pointed to the only empty seat in the class, right next to... NENDOU? " Hey! I'm Riki Nendou!" He said , giving her a handshake. " Hey! You've got a pretty tight grip!" "You too." She said with a grin. The whole class was shocked, seeing how politely she had talked to him.
Later during lunch, she was eating her food and she got to her dessert, a small cup of coffee jelly which Saiki was eyeing." You want it?" She asked him. Sure she was hungry having skipped breakfast but she was all filled up thanks to the food she had packed besides the coffee jelly. Saiki nodded as she passed it to him. Maybe she wasn't that bad. After Saiki had finished his coffee jelly, Kaidou and Nendou stole him away."I think we should invite Suzuki for ramen!" Nendou said " I don't think Nendou actually thinks" Saiki thought to himself.
" You idiot! Do you actually think she'll say yes?" Said Kaidou too loudly."Say yes to what?" She asked as she heard Kaidou's entire sentence due to how loudly he was talking. " I was wondering if you would want to get some ramen with us after school." Nendou said. " Sure! I'd love too!" She replied" Anyway, this is my best buddy Kusuo Saiki!" " And, I'm Kaidou, the Jet Black Wings!" Kaidou said.
"So that's how we ended up here." Saiki thought as the rest were slurping away at their bowls of ramen."That'll be 3000." Said the shop keeper. "Okay." She said as she searcher through her purse, looking for money."N-no, it's okay Suzuki. I-I'll pay for yours."" Really?" She asked " Yes!" Kaidou replied nervously."Thanks!"
"Thanks for hanging out with me today." Suzuki said with a smile
"You don't need to thanks us! We're all best buddies!"
"Hey, since I didn't pay a yen for my ramen, I was wondering if you guys wanted to..."
"No." Saiki firmly thought.
"Get dessert?"
"Yes." Saiki thought, having changed his mind
"Sorry, but I have tuition."Kaidou said sadly
"I have to go take a two hour long dump..."Nendou said with a sigh." That just leaves Saiki!" She said "Bye!" She said to Nendou and Kaidou. " Come on let's go find a place Saiki!" She said, full of excitement. They eventually found a place called"The Dessert's Hive" " Let's go in!" She said.They both made their orders,one coffee jelly and one set of red bean mochi. "It's her treat. I'd feel bad if I don't talk to her." Saiki thought to himself."So... um." Saiki tried to think of something to say but nothing came out."We just met today, it's okay if you don't wanna talk." She had taken his feelings into account, rarely did people do this. It was refreshing for him."I would like to know why you moved."He said. "We were planning to move to a bigger house and most of the houses here are pretty cheap compared to other places." She said. "Here's your order!" The waiter said too loudly. "Thanks." She said as she slid over the coffee jelly to Saiki.They are in comfortable silence and after that, they just went home. No problems.Once Suzuki went home, she started making the coffee jelly that she would be giving Saiki the next day.
The next day, Saiki was in the living room watching TV, when he heard Suzuki's thoughts" I hope he's home. I made coffee jelly for him." Getting excited at the word coffee jelly, he rushed to the front door and opened it before she could even ring the doorbell. "Hey Saiki! I made some coffee jelly for you." She said. Saiki nodded and thanked her before snatching the coffee jelly from her hands. Saiki had his eyes closed in pure bliss as he was overwhelmed by the flavor and texture of the coffee jelly. " She isn't that bad." Saiki thought.
2 weeks after she had given him coffee jelly, they were now in his room,playing video games. She knew all the moves and when to use them. It was great having her on his team. Oh how did it come to this? First it started out as her giving him coffee jelly and now she was playing video games with him. How? Saiki pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind as the word " VICTORY" flashed across the screen. They had won. Again. " Look at the time! I better get going now. Bye!" She said as she left. She didn't live to far away from him. Just a walk down the street, once you see the tall tree, make a turn to the left and you'll find her house. She had a strict curfew.
