The next morning, Tanya slipped out of Jerry's room early. She didn't want to be anywhere near the area when Sammy slipped Jerry the potion. Tanya headed straight for the roof of Hogwarts. She needed fresh air.
After climbing what felt like a hundred staircases, Tanya stepped out onto the roof. There was a clear, blue morning sky and Tanya could see out across the lake, the Forbidden Forest, and a mountain range. Nestled among all of it was the quidditch stadium. She leaned against the railing on the roof and imagined flying around the pitch in front of thousands of fans later that day.
"There will be plenty of quidditch tournaments after today," Ronnie said from behind Tanya, startling her.
"Ronnie, what are you doing here?"
"I thought I'd witness the fall of Hogwarts in person," Ronnie said. "I knew you would come up here. Is the plan underway?"
"Yes," Tanya said. "I gave Sammy the potion yesterday. She's in his room right now, giving it to him."
"Good. It's a shame the Potter boy had to die for it."
"Die? What are you talking about?"
"Oh, Tanya," Ronnie said. "I'm sad about it, too. But we can't take any chances."
"I can't believe you," Tanya yelled, tears running down her cheeks. She went back inside the nearest tower, tapped the black, glassy brick in the wall three times, and limbered up as the stairs turned into a giant slide. She grabbed a shield from a nearby set of armor in the hallway and took a running leap.
"I'm coming, Jerry!"
Sparks flew as she shot down the slide on the shield. She banked around the corners, hucked and prayed as she went airborne, and nimbly dodged students trying to make their way up the slide. She made record time down and skidded to a stop outside Jerry's room.
Tanya kicked open the door and shook Jerry awake.
"JERRY! Get up, Jerry! You have to vomit!"
"I have to do what?" Jerry said groggily. He stood up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Jerry, but I'm doing this out of love."
Tanya wound up and kicked Jerry in the nuts as hard as she could.
"Oh, sweet bust of Helen Mirren!" Jerry cried and clutched his nuggets. "Was the sex that bad?"
Jerry doubled over and began vomiting all over the floor.
When he finished spewing and had caught his breath, Tanya helped him stand back up.
"Are you okay? Do you feel like you're going to die?"
"Well, my nuts fucking hurt. Can you tell me what the hell is going on?"
As Tanya got ready to explain everything, Sammy strolled in.
"What smells like upchuck?" she asked.
"Sammy!" Tanya exclaimed. "What are you doing here? Did you give Jerry the potion?"
"Oh, yeah. That." Sammy said. "You know, I woke up late and hungover. I thought about it some more, and I think Ronnie was wrong. I couldn't do that to my brother. I love magic, but there's nothing I love more than Jerry. We're best friends for life. I can't believe I ever got jealous of you, bro."
"Okay, now I'm even more confused," Jerry said.
"There's no time to explain. We gotta get ready for the game," Tanya said. "We'll tell you later. Let's save Hogwarts!"
