Sam couldn't see anything, her vision blackened as she looked around her, the darkness all that she could see. There wasn't a sound to be heard either, the darkness even taking away that sense. She opened her mouth, her lips feeling dry, almost painfully so as she tried to speak, to call out into the darkness. She felt so small and yet, she felt like she didn't exist either. Did that make sense? Suddenly she felt it, someone was there with her, their chill almost comforting.

"Sam, he's gone." She looked around, the darkness revealing nothing to her sight, if she had sight. "He is dead, no longer able to do you harm in this life." Who was gone? Who was dead? Why couldn't she remember anything about someone that was hurting her? Then it seemed to click back in, the room around her growing cooler, the darkness lifting as two pairs of blue eyes appeared in the farthest part of the darkness. Those eyes... One pair belonged to someone who wanted to cause her pain and the other pair belonged to the one who had taken her out of that pain. She watched in awe as one pair shimmered green and without hesitation she turned toward that pair, her hand coming out, reaching for the male who had saved her without even knowing who she was...

"Danny," she whispered. The halfa at her side jolted awake, his blue eyes locking with her amethyst orbs, the love in those orbs causing him to smile. "Is it over?" He nodded, leaning closer to place a soft kiss on her forehead. "Is he gone? Really gone?" Again the halfa nodded, unable to say anything, the relief that she was really okay so overwhelming. The doctor had said she was fine, but she hadn't woken up that first day and he had been worried that he would never get to tell her all that he wanted.

"I saw him in the body bag," he said, the raven haired female sighing in relief as well. It was over, the male that had tormented her and her loved ones was gone. She was free from the life she had been forced into, the darkness that had been her home for years. "Sam, I don't care what he did to you and while I know that it will take a long time for you to be okay with what happened, I will gladly wait forever because I love you." The Goth blinked in surprise. "I want you to know th-" He was cut off as the raven haired beauty in the bed pulled him down for a kiss, her warm lips meeting his cool ones for mere seconds before she pulled back.

"Danny, you saved me from the darkness in more than one way. I wouldn't have it any other way then to be with you forever." The pair sat there, basking in their love, the trials that they had both been thru and all the pain that had been inflicted on the young woman... And yet they knew none of it mattered now that they had each other, that it could all be overcome.

Sorry for the short ending. I have been going thru a lot this year and while I try not to neglect my stories and the readers that enjoy them, I am sorry that it took so long to get back to it.
