A child would wake up after falling asleep. He could see the leaves of a tree that he was up against. The leaves had effectively blocked out the sunlight. As a result, his brown color eyes could adjust rather painlessly to the meadow before him.
'I have to head back.' He thought.
The boy had black color hair and wore a brown tunic with black pants. His shoes were mostly leather. The child grab a basket brimming with fire wood for his family. He headed back home and open the door. To his surprise, his father was home. The Man would usually be out doing doctor things.
"Your home!" He shouted in joy.
The Father close his book before turning around to give a light smile to his son. The man had brown color hair with teal green eyes. He had a thin beard and mustache. The man's accessories were a pair of circular glasses. He wore a brown suit and underneath it was a button up t-shirt. In addition, a white cravat and black color pants the color match his shoe color.
"Welcome home, Felix. You can finally show your father how to treat a broken arm." A woman said.
Felix directed his attention to the woman. She had long black color hair with brown color eyes. She wore a long red skirt with black slippers. A yellow button up color long sleeve shirt and a white apron.
"Oh? Is someone interested in becoming a doctor?" The Father asked.
Felix went to place the branches that he obtain earlier into a container. He put the basket next to the box. Felix quickly ran to get the proper supplies. They could see the excitment in his eyes.
"He takes after you, Grisha."
The Father gave a chuckle.
"I think he takes after you the most, Carla."
She just giggled in response. Felix came running back to them. He place the items next to his father on top of the table. The Man saw several pieces of wood in different sizes, roll of gauze, padding, rope and scissors on the table.
"I need you to stick out your arm for me."
Grisha did as told while his son began to feel up and down the arm.
"First, I have to find out where it is broken and to do this, I have to find out where the deformity is and if I can't find it that way. I can...erm...it's a grinding feeling underneath the skin."
"And then?" Grisha asked.
"I can use discoloration as well. Once I have determined where the breakage is, I will need to put on the padding before using the apporiate branches."
He used some of the rope to keep the padding from sliding off and made sure that it was snug. Felix placed the wood over the padding and around Grisha's arm. He made sure that the arm was stabilize before filling in any void spaces. Then used the remaining rope to secure the cast into place.
"Can you move the arm?"
Grisha tested out the makeshift splint and the arm wouldn't be moving any time soon. He rub his son's hair.
"Atta boy, you'll be a great doctor someday." Grisha said.
Felix's eyes beam with aboslute joy. Carla smile at the scene before her.
"When I get back from my work. I'll teach you on how to stop bleeding."
The man took off his son's makeshift cast and put it on the table. Grisha went for his suitcase while standing up. He went to the coat hanger to grab his top hat to put it on.
"Really? I can't wait til you get home." Felix stated.
Grisha gave a nod as a goodbye and left the home.
"Go out and play dear, you deserve it."
Felix grew a smile before bolting out the door. He may not have any friends. However, he took great pride in running about and jumping from ledge to ledge. It gave him a rush that he absolutely loved. He went into the market and would watch as people walk about the various shops. He looked off at the fifty meter wall.
'They say there are titans beyond the wall and the wall is the only reason we are safe. The walls can keep them out but what if an evolution occurs?'
He may not like the idea but he did read his father's books on biology and evolution. If The Titans grew smarter or bigger then couldn't they destroy or scale the walls. Felix shudder at such a thought. He watch as two birds flew through the air and grew a smile. He like the idea of flying. However, about halfway across the wall did a bolt of lightning strike down in front of the wall. A huge wind blew away the birds and everyone had to plant their feets on the ground. In order to not be blown away.
'What the hell?' Felix thought.
After the surge of wind died out. Everyone look to the source and to their horror. A huge hand came up to grab a hold of the wall. Then a face with no skin but all muscle would be seen peering down at them.
'How...what the...!?' Felix thought.
The Titan stood over fifty meters tall. It could hop over it if the creature really wanted too. However, it just stood there and for a few seconds everyone held their breath in suspense. Finally, chaos would be born. An extremely loud banging sound could be heard from within the entire city. Everyone that was close to the source of the sound were either blown away or crushed by incoming debries. Felix watch as a huge boulder came crashing onto his street.
'Mom!' He thought in horror.
Everyone began screaming and running for their lives. As they headed in the opposite direction of the wall towards safety. Felix watch as the unexplainably huge Titan just disappeared. His theories could wait later. The wall was defintely broken and it didn't take long for him to start seeing Titans in the distance.
'I have to get mom!'
The boy rush towards his home. He abandoned everything about his own safety. Felix turn the corner to see that his house was crush by a boulder. However, his mother was hanging out of the house. He could still rescue her.
"Mom!" Felix cried out.
Carla's eyes widen in horror. She could see her son running at her.
"What are you doing here!? Get out of the city! The Titans are here!" She yelled.
Felix got near her and saw that the entire house had pratically destroyed her legs. To make matters worse the beams were pinning her down. Felix knew he couldn't lift it up all the way and began removing the roof tiles. Thus decresing the weight a bit.
"Felix! You need to leave me behind! My legs are broken!"
"I'll carry you!" Felix shouted in defiance.
"The time you pick to start rebelling is the worst time!" Carla screamed at him.
"I'm gonna get you outta here! Then you can scold me all you want!"
No doubt he would but she would slow him down. Felix would die with her. Carla didn't want that to happen not in a million years. However, she knew his mind was made up by the bravery in his eyes.
"Damn it." She whimpered.
He got a dozen or so roof tiles off before gripping the beam. Felix would lift with his legs and began to lift. The beam did move up but not enough for Carla to crawl out. Carla could see someone drop down a way from them. It was none other then Hannas. The man wore a uniform of The Garrison Reginment. He rush towards them.
"Hannas! Thank goodness! Take Felix and run!" Carla begged.
Hannas watch as Felix lift once again. The beam still wouldn't budge from it's spot. The Man saw a Titan looking at them. It seem that Felix's strugge had gotten it's attention. He look down at a visibly distressed Carla and gave her a grin.
"Don't you go underestimating me. I'm going to save you both." He said.
Felix got the beam to go up and Carla knew that he was close to freeing her. Hannas rush towards the Titan at break neck speeds. He was going to kill it but as he got closer. His eyes slowly widen at it's menacing smile that showed all of it's teeth. The creature looking at him with glee. This paralyzed Hannas and his instincts kicked in. He ran the other way in absolute fear.
'There's no way I can beat that thing!' He thought.
Felix gave one more lift. The beam going upwards with Carla having the room to crawl out. It seem Felix's persistence finally paying off. However, Hannas pick the child up to Felix's great disapproval. Hannas threw the boy over his shoulder and held him down.
"Thank you Hannas!" Carla yelled in relief.
Hannas ran away from Carla while Felix struggle to get to his mother.
"Mom!" Felix shouted.
"Felix! I love you! I want you to keep living! You must survive!" She screamed back.
Felix could still see her brown eyes. As Carla watch the pair get further away from her. She knew that a Titan was coming close to her. In that instant, she gave in to her desire to live.
"Don't go..." She choked out.
Felix's eyes realized what she had said without even hearing it. What gave it away was the way her eyes look. He began punching and clawing at Hannas's back.
"Let me down! I'm going back! I don't want her to die alone!" Felix shouted.
Hannas kept his grip despite the pain and continued rushing forward. Carla put her hand over her mouth noticing the boy struggle even more.
'I messed up. I shouldn't have slipped. I'm sorry, Felix.' Carla thought.
She felt a titan pick her right up with Felix watching.
'Felix! You need to leave me behind! My legs are broken!'
Carla kicked her legs and began struggling with them. He watch as The Titan twisted his mother's head before eating Carla whole. The image buring itself into the child's mind.
