Chapter 38:
Setsuna continued to stare in disbelief at the highlighted words in Haruka's file.
"Haruka, is this true?"
Haruka shrugged her shoulders.
"Apparently."
"Haruka, do you understand how serious this is?"
"I guess so."
Was Haruka's less than enthusiastic reply.
Setsuna closed the file and shook her head. She couldn't believe Haruka could be so un-phased by what was written in her file.
"May I speak to Haruka alone, please?"
Setsuna asked, addressing the other occupants in the room.
"Sure, come on everyone I'll show you where this really cool fish tank is."
Usagi said, quickly pushing everyone out of the room so that Setsuna and Haruka could talk.
Once everyone else had left, Setsuna turned her attention to Haruka.
"Do you remember what happened, in regards to the highlighted section?"
"Yeah, I got into a fight."
"Haruka, it's only a fight if the other person fights back. You beat another patient unconscious. Do you remember what happened?"
"Not really, it's all pretty hazy."
"Well according to this."
Setsuna held up Haruka's file.
"You were hallucinating and thought the patient you beat up was someone else."
Haruka didn't say anything, so Setsuna decided to continue.
"Did you think you were seeing and beating up Genjiro?"
Setsuna asked, recalling how Haruka used to see Genjiro when he wasn't really there.
Haruka shook her head.
"Then who did you see?"
"My dad."
Setsuna looked at Haruka with surprise.
"Did you start seeing him before or after you started having dreams about him?"
"Before."
"How long before?"
"Not too long after he died."
Setsuna was thankful she was sitting, otherwise she would've fallen to the floor.
"You've been having hallucinations about your dad for that long, and you didn't tell anyone?!"
"No, besides the ones about Genjiro are bad enough."
"How often are you still having hallucinations about Genjiro?"
"Practically every day."
Haruka said, subconsciously rubbing her arms.
"Are you seeing him right now?"
Haruka looked around a bit before answering.
"No, but I see my dad."
"Where do you see him?"
Haruka didn't speak and just pointed to the left side of the room.
Setsuna started to look where Haruka was pointing, but stopped herself knowing full well that Kazuo wasn't actually going to be there.
"Is he doing or saying anything?"
Setsuna asked, taking note of how intently Haruka was staring at one spot of the room.
"He keeps looking at me and pointing to the window. I think he wants me to go to it."
Haruka said, getting up from her seat.
"Wait, I'll come with you."
Haruka shook her head.
"No, mom. It's okay. Besides, how dangerous can a window on the first floor be?"
"I suppose you have a point. Very well, just please be careful."
Haruka gave a nod, then headed to the window.
Setsuna watched as Haruka went back and forth from looking out the window, and looking at the spot she had been staring at earlier.
"What on earth could she possibly be doing?"
Setsuna wondered.
After a few more minutes, Haruka began to frantically shake her head back and forth.
"Haruka, what is it?"
Setsuna asked, concern evident in her voice.
Haruka didn't answer and just squeezed her eyes shut, while putting her hands over her ears.
Her concern growing, Setsuna quickly made her way over to the tall blonde.
"Haruka, Haruka look at me."
Haruka didn't budge from her current position though.
"Haruka, please just look at me."
Once again, Haruka didn't move.
Realizing that she was going to need help, Setsuna pulled out her cell phone and dialed one of the numbers on her contact list.
