Chapter eleven:

The host club is over and the twins are getting ready to go just like everyone else in the club.

Kaoru feels his phone vibrate and he checks it seeing Hikaru is too distracted with getting his own stuff to even notice. He finds that it is from Razzy and appears to be a group text sent to all of the members that are needed there.

Meeting tonight. Location will be shared later.

Kaoru quickly sends a rather simple response that he understands then he puts his phone into his pocket. He finishes grabbing his stuff then looks for his brother as they should get going home.

Hikaru is briefly talking to the others saying goodbye before heading over to Kaoru. "Ready?" He asks in which Kaoru nods so the two of them head off and get into the waiting limo.

As the driver begins taking them away Kaoru glances to his brother who is just staring out of the window watching the scenery go by.

"So, are you and Haruhi doing homework together again?" Kaoru inquires causing his brother to slightly glance to him.

"No. She's doing that with Tamaki tonight." Hikaru informs his brother then looks back out the window, causing Kaoru to start to doubt that his late 'walks' are worrying Hikaru at all.

"I see." Kaoru nods then he turns away to look out of his own window.

There is silence between them for a good while before Hikaru breaks it.

"Your walks don't worry me." Hikaru's words cause Kaoru to quickly turn to him. "I know you'll be fine. You're like me after all."

"I was wondering if I was worrying you." Kaoru admits and glances away. "At least I'm not." He hears his twin make a sound of confirmation at this. He doesn't understand why hearing that his brother isn't worried kind of hurts. He ponders if it is because he knows how dangerous the group he has gotten involved with can be. He could be shot… Then again Hikaru doesn't know any of this so Kaoru can't blame him for not actually worrying about him.

Later that night…

Kaoru is heading to the location of the meeting wondering what in the world Razzy wants to talk about. He doesn't notice someone watching him from an alleyway then start to follow after him. He pauses to check his phone for the address as it is a spot that he hasn't been to before with the group.

The person following him gets closer then stops as Kaoru raises his head feeling the eyes of his follower on him.

Before Kaoru can even turn around he cries out just after a gunshot is heard and as he feels a sharp pain in his back. He stumbles forward before falling down to the ground. He manages to turn as his pain wants him to shut his eyes. He spots that a man is standing there aiming a gun towards him once more.

The man who is holding a dull colored silver pistol has short brown hair, so short it doesn't need brushing at all, a baggy blue pull over sweater, jeans, and worn white dirty runners. His piercing blue eyes show no remorse for what he had just done to the other.

Kaoru closes his eyes ready to be shot once more. He hears a gunshot though doesn't feel any pain. He cracks an eye open wondering if he is dead. He then notices his attacker stumbling backwards. He manages to open both eyes only for Kira to leap past him heading for the attacker. His vision starts to go black as he wants to let himself pass out.

"Don't you dare pass out just yet." A voice commands and Kaoru slightly shifts his head only to see Razzy crouching by him. "You're really close to the location." He adds a little quieter. "Stay with us. We will get you help."

"My brother… Message…. Hikaru." Kaoru tries to tell Razzy knowing that he is probably going to worry over him. He tries his best to keep his eyes open.

"Don't worry. I'll make sure that your brother won't worry." Razzy assures him then slides his hands underneath the newest member of his group. He picks the ginger haired male up and hurries him away from where Kira is now chasing the attacker away.

Kaoru catches a glimpse of the chase before he ignores it to try his best to stay awake… Though it all becomes too much for him and he ends up passing out as everything goes black.

….

Hikaru wakes up the next morning to find that he is alone in bed. He wonders if Kaoru got up earlier. He then notices it.

Kaoru's side of the bed is neatly made meaning that he never slept where he is supposed to.

Hikaru grabs his phone planning to get up to see if he can find his brother. He then notices that he has a text messages and wonders if it is from his brother. He checks it and finds that it is indeed from Kaoru. He checks it wondering what is going on.

Hey. I am staying at a friend's house. Don't worry about me. I am okay. It was a little unplanned so I didn't tell you. I'll see you.

Hikaru finds his shoulders relax. He leaves it alone and gets up. He doesn't care that Kaoru decided to stay with a friend last night. He doesn't control his brothers life after all. He gets ready for school then heads on down for breakfast.

At school….

Hikaru puts his bag down at his desk. He has felt eyes on him as he arrived at school alone. He glances to Kaoru's desk finding that it is empty with no sign Kaoru arrived to school.

"Where is Kaoru?" Haruhi asks the ginger haired male as she approaches causing him to turn to her.

"He stayed at a friends place last night. A friendly sleepover." Hikaru tries to shrug it off but something inside of himself says that there is more to this than he thinks there is. "I'm sure he'll turn up."

"Yeah." Haruhi puts her stuff at her desk as she sees no reason to worry about the slightly younger twin. She strikes up a conversation with Hikaru about how well the weather has been so far.

Kaoru will turn up… Right?
