Chapter twenty two:

It has been two months and Kaoru is now standing adjusting his clothes. He turns as Razzy enters into the room offering him a smile.

"Are you ready to go?" Razzy inquires in which Kaoru nods his head.

"As ready as I'll ever be to do this." Kaoru confirms in which Razzy moves further into the room placing a hand on his shoulder. He meets the eyes of the leader of the group that he is a part of. He can see assurance and sympathy in his eyes.

"Whatever happens we will always be here for you. We won't let them try to force you to do what they want you to do. If that does happen that is." Razzy tells Kaoru who knows that he speaks the truth to the other. "You are always free to stay with us instead."

"I will keep that in mind. Though I need to do this. I can't just be missing to them forever. It'll lead to trouble that I don't want to happen." Kaoru informs the other who nods his head.

"Alright. Let us get going." Razzy heads out with Kaoru and as they leave the others call out their see you laters along with wishes of good luck.

Meanwhile Hikaru has sadly given up finding his brother. He has decided to just accept that his brother may not be coming back. He does feel some weight in his heart at the thought that it could be partially his fault that his brother is no longer coming back. He wonders if his brother found a better life with someone who maybe is closer to him now. He had been drifting from Kaoru that he could have missed something. He just knows he will need to accept that maybe in the midst of all this Kaoru has found a better life for himself. He turns as Haruhi places a hand on his shoulder. He is with his friends and his parents in the living room of the mansion.

They have all gathered to have a little bit of discussion of where they are going to go from here since it has been so long. They haven't gotten any leads in the whole thing so they are talking about backing off to let the professionals do the search.

Kyouya also points out that they do have school that they need to work on so they can't search themselves forever.

Hikaru lets out a breath and before he can speak a single word the front door opens. He turns to look in that direction, as the others do as well, seeing a maid hurry over then pause once she gets a look at who is there. He gets to his feet causing Haruhi's hand to fall off of his shoulder. He is about to race over when Kaoru walks into the living room shocking everyone. He stands there for a few moments as Kaoru gives a soft greeting to them all. He races over and embraces his brother who blinks in slight surprise at the suddenness.

Though being quick to understand Kaoru does return the hug with a small smile.

Everyone gathers around them as questions fly with everyone trying to talk over one another.

"Whoa. Hold on." Kaoru raises his hands as Hikaru breaks the hug. He looks like he is surrendering to the police or something. He does manage to quiet everyone. He can tell that they were rather worried though that they are also very happy to see him standing here alive and okay. "I will explain. Let us just sit for now."

So they all sit down and stare at Kaoru waiting for him to begin his explanation.

"A friend of mine found out about the hit placed on me." Kaoru tells them remembering the story he came up with in his head on the way to here in Razzy's car. "So he took me to stay in a safe place with him while it was being dealt with. We waited until we were sure things were safer. Making sure there wasn't any attempted revenge after things were taken care of. I knew that I had to come back so I did." He finishes the story and he glances around to all of them. He can see the relief in their eyes that everything is alright now. "However while I was gone I worked with my friend. I will admit that I really did enjoy working with him. He said that I did such a good job even offering for me to join him to continue working with him." He tells them and he doesn't see any disapproval on any of their faces. He doesn't even see it on his brother or their parents. "I accepted it. I have decided that it is what I want to do. I still will go to school of course. I just have decided on what I want my future to look like." He finds his mother reach over placing her hands on his folded hands in his lap. He looks to her, she is sitting next to him with Hikaru on his other side, allowing their eyes to meet. He sees light and kindness in her gaze.

"Kaoru, my dear son, you can do whatever you want to with your life. Though I had been hoping that you both would go into the family business I won't stop you." Their mother smiles to her youngest son. "We will support you every step of the way."

Kaoru's eyes drift around at the others who all mummer in agreement to this. He finds a smile stretching across his face. "Thank you." He dips his head to truly show his thanks.

Their mother turns and snaps to the maid who had first seen that it was Kaoru who had come inside. "Get the chef to bake a cake. We are going to celebrate Kaoru's return." She orders in which the maid nods then hurries off. She turns back to the group. "Having Kaoru back is a cause of celebration." She tells them and though Kaoru seems a little shy about it he goes along with everyone else agreeing to the idea.

Years later…

Kaoru, who has let his bangs grow out a little, is standing with Holly as they look into when and how they are going to add the next line of his families clothes. He has always been involved with this since he is like the middle man between them. He made sure that they had a place to set them up since it'll bring in good business. He also knows that this line is Hikaru's first line that he had done all by himself. He wanted to make sure that the presentation will match with what his brother has done. He knows that since they are adults now their mother has given Hikaru the reigns over the family business. He remembers at the party where it was made official. He does admit that it was a nice party and nice to see his brother look ready to do his best. He pulls his thoughts away from that as he needs to focus. He does most work for Razzy though he does sometimes help out with Holly. He hasn't had any issues with it all as even if he is working with Razzy they pretend that he is just helping with a second division as well. Which he supposes isn't really a lie.

Holly looks at the clothes writing down ways to organize them. She makes sure that she doesn't mess them up or mark them up in any way. She turns as Kaoru heads over to her.

"I think we can put a female and male in the store window." Kaoru tells Holly who listens to what he has to suggest. "Then we can display the one that we like best. You can pick the girl one."

"Do you mind if I pick the male one?"

The two turn as Razzy comes over with a smile on his face and Hikaru following along as well.

Razzy doesn't mind that Hikaru, the host club, and the twins parents believe that the friend that helped Kaoru is Holly while Razzy is seen as a friend slash a bodyguard. He may be seen as more of a bodyguard however he is aware that the others know that he works with Kaoru as a part of a second division. He is just glad that they haven't pried much on that part since he wants Kaoru to control how much they know. He stops with Hikaru by Kaoru.

"Sure. Why not." Kaoru agrees knowing that it was Razzy who had spoken. He also nods in greeting to his brother who nods in greeting back. "I think you did a good job on the pieces." He tells his brother who rubs the back of his neck as though slightly embarrassed.

"Heh. Thanks brother." Hikaru checks his phone as it beeps.

Kaoru can guess that it is Hikaru's girlfriend Haruhi.

While Kyouya and Tamaki got married tying their families together, Haruhi began dating Hikaru.

Razzy on the other hand has started a relationship with Lorine just a few months ago. They look happy to be together and Kaoru knows that they wont let their relationship get in the way of the work that they do.

Kaoru can see some nervousness on Hikaru's face. "Is everything okay?"

Hikaru puts his phone away. He looks to his brother meeting his eyes. "I was thinking of asking Haruhi to marry me." He admits to his brother who smiles softly at hearing this. "I just am so nervous. With the new line hitting the shelves and hoping that my plan to propose goes by well." He looks to his brother when the other places a hand on his shoulder.

"I know that things will go well. She loves you a lot. I can tell the way that you look at each other that you are meant for each other." Kaoru smiles wider to his brother who nods feeling a little more confident. He may have thought in the past that it would be him and his brother together though he holds no anger at how things have gone. He just wants Hikaru to be happy and if that is with Haruhi then so be it. He doesn't mind backing off to let them have their relationship how they want it to be.

Hikaru, Kaoru, and Holly are in the store that will have Hikaru's clothes line before they are to open. They are making sure that everything is all set up and looking good. They soon stand with the employees to be ready to open the doors to customers.

"Hold on." Hikaru speaks and everyone inside turns to him. He made sure that he spoke before they let anyone in. He turns to Haruhi reaching into his back pocket. "Haruhi. I love you. I have for a good while." He tells her finding himself blushing a bit. He slightly glances to Kaoru suddenly feeling like a deer in headlights. He looks back to Haruhi after Kaoru nods encouragingly to him. He gets down on one knee. "And with this first line of my clothes that I made about to be shown to the customers I wanted to ask you something." He holds up a velvety blue box only to open it showing a diamond ring. "Will you marry me?"

Haruhi gasps covering her mouth in surprise. She finds tears coming to her eyes and she nods moving her hands away from her mouth. "Yes. Yes I will marry you." She confirms making everyone else clap as Hikaru gets up placing the ring on her finger.

The two embrace and Kaoru hopes that one day he will find someone who he will ask to marry or perhaps have them ask him to marry them.

Kaoru does tend to swing towards men more than woman though no one he cares for really cares that he likes men. He even got some teasing from his family and friends about cute boys that they'd see when out and about somewhere. He knows that it is all in good fun to tease him about it.

Once things have calmed down and everyone is ready the two employees open the doors to the shop letting the customers inside.

"Welcome." They all greet the customers who enter into the store after having heard about the new line.

I am not actually a fan of Haruhi and Hikaru though for this story it just felt right. So I figured why not let it be a part of this story.
