CHAPTER 67: Breaking His Back, Breaking My Heart
Jai'tr, employee of Dollar General, was crouched down behind the counter as the mechanical abomination of rabbit and soul stuff stalked the store.
How did this happen you ask? Well, the day started as any day started, he went to work.
Because he lived in HQ and came to work by the teleporter in the back room, he didn't realize there was a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza being constructed next door.
If he did, then he could have been more prepared for the inevitable killer animatronic.
He could be hidden safely in the back room and not out here watching as all his customers are killed.
He stuffs his body farther under the counter, farther than a human would have been able to go, and makes no noise as the metal steps walk past.
"An easy kill to whet my lips as I wait for the main course," said the possessed animatronic.
Jai'tr froze in horror. He knows the stories, he knows what the killer is talking about, and while he doesn't know everything, he knows he's not going to allow kids to die.
He stands up, grabbing a broom as he goes, and yells, "Hey march hare! Try something with a little more bite!"
The metal groaned as the rabbit head slowly turned to face him and, even with limited facial capabilities, radiated an aura of anger. "I, am a rabbit."
"Looking like that? More like a hairless hare."
Jai'tr flowed to the side as the incensed killer lunged across the counter, sticking the broom through a hole in the fabric back. Flowing under the next strike and between the metal legs, he grabbed the broom again and wrenched it to the side. He didn't really know what he was doing, just that he had to break something.
Break something he did, as with a loud CRACK the broom came loose. For a moment, he thought it was the broom that made the sound, but as the animatronic fell to the floor he realized that while the broom was broken that wasn't what made the sound.
It was the metal spine of the animatronic.
He dropped the broken broom and gave a breathless laugh. He had done it, he had killed-
"I'm not dead, I always come back and you haven't stopped me."
Almost killed the possessed animatronic.
He raised his foot to crush the killer's head, and should have realized something was wrong when the machine under him shut down.
"What are you doing?" said an easily recognizable voice from behind him. It was his manager, Foj'hw.
He put his foot down slowly, turning around as he did so. "Kil- Destroying a killer robot ma'am?"
"What you are doing is breaking the Plot of this universe. He isn't supposed to die now, and if he does, a bunch of others that do need to die soon won't! You were told to brush up on your FANF1619 plot."
"I did! He was supposed to die in the Fright fire, not be here!"
"That's FNAF1916! This is your job, you have to get these things right! You think that after the last two times I had to call in the PR department you would learn!"
Jai'tr could say nothing, he had messed up badly and could only hope that he wouldn't be badly punished.
It was a false hope.
"Three strikes you're out. You are going to help the PR representative fix this mess and then you are gone."
! #$%^&*()
"'... And that's my story.' So let me get this straight, you used to be a… Void thing, got fired, and turned into… living carbonation which explains why you can't speak. And now you drink the soda to… stay alive?"
Jai'tr took the notepad from Liz and wrote, "Simply? Yes."
She looked at him silently for a few moments before looking blankly at the wall, saying, "Man my life is weird."
He gave a huff of laughter and wrote, "Life is just like that. We hunt down possessed robots, and you think I'm weird?"
She read what he wrote, but just gave a small, silent, shake of her head and rolled her eyes.
