So this story is my first ever attempt at fanfiction, so If you would kindly leave a review so I can grow as a writer, that would be great!
I don't own PJO.
"They're not dolls! They're figurines! And you can take your great army and-"
"Now, now," Dr. Thorn warned. "You will change your mind about joining us, my boy. And if you do not, well... there are other uses for half-bloods. We have many monstrous mouths to feed. The Great Stirring is underway."
"The Great what?" I asked. Anything to keep him talking while I tried to figure out a plan.
"The stirring of monsters." Dr, Thorn smiled evilly. "The worst of them, the most powerful, are now waking. Monsters that have not been seen in thousands of years. They will cause death and destruction the likes of which mortals have never known. And soon we shall have the most important monster of all-the one that shall bring about the downfall of Olympus!"
"Okay," Bianca whispered to me. "He's completely nuts."
"We have to jump off the cliff," I told her quietly. "Into the sea."
"Oh, super idea. You're completely nuts, too."
"No whispering!" Dr. Thorn yanked me away from the Di Angelo siblings, just as an invisible force slammed into us from behind.
The kids toppled into the ground, and I realized what Annabeth had done. Unfortunately, she had done it a split second too late.
Dr. Thorn still had me by the arm, so instead of falling like Bianca and Nico, he was able to pull me against him as he sent a volley of thorns that sailed over their heads.
I felt the cold edge of a blade touch against my throat just as Grover and Thalia arrived.
"Stop this at once, or I'll kill him."
I could see everyone freeze as the helicopter grew close to the cliffs.
Grover was pale, looking like he was about to cry as he put the Di Angelo kids behind him.
Thalia was shaking with rage, I could see the pure hatred on her face directed towards Dr. Thorn.
Then there was Annabeth. I couldn't read her expression. She just stared, probably trying to figure out a plan that would get us all out of here.
I couldn't allow myself to get dragged off to who knows where to see this General person. So I did what any rational person would do. I brought up a foot and tried to kick him. but he just pulled me against him tighter.
The blade dug tighter against my throat until I felt a slight trickle of blood running down my neck. I couldn't resist a gasp of pain and he snarled. "That also applies to you, Perseus Jackson."
Dr. Thorn grew taller, and instead of being held by arms, I was in the grasp of two animal paw-like things.
Well, crap.
"Manticore!" I heard Annabeth yell.
The helicopter landed on the edge of the cliff, behind Thorn and me, and the door opened.
"Ready for the package, sir!" One of the mortals shouted over the sound of the helicopter.
Dr. Thorn responded, "Yes." Then he shouted to my friends "you can keep the other two, I have what I want. Who could resist that deal? You get two demigods for the price of this one!" He shook me hard, and I felt the poison in my shoulder more violently than I had previously.
I bit back a cry of pain as he dragged me closer to the door.
Thalia broke ranks and ran at us with her shield up, maybe hoping Aegis would persuade the manticore to let me go.
It did not.
The manticore instead used its tail to plunge another projectile into my already throbbing shoulder.
I could hear my screams as if they weren't my own. I could feel myself blacking out, darkness creeping into the edges of my blurred vision. My hearing cut out and I wondered if this is how I would die.
Thorn pulled the spike out of my shoulder, but that did next to nothing to ease the pain. I swallowed back more screams.
As my hearing came back, I heard Dr. Thorn laughing as my friends screamed my name. As Annabeth screamed my name. I didn't know why but hearing her voice sounding broken like that hurt me more than hearing anyone else scream.
I could barely even move, and now Dr. Thorn was supporting almost all of my weight. He pulled me even closer to the helicopter door, this time close enough that his back was touching it.
He turned his head to the mortals, "Do it." I was a bit confused as to what it was.
Then my friends all screamed my name as if just the word could save me.
Thalia.
Grover.
Bianca and Nico, even though they didn't know me.
And Annabeth.
She looked like the world was ending. I wanted to run to her and tell her that everything would be okay.
Then I felt a needle go into my neck, jarring me back to reality.
The world blurred and I felt any control over my limbs go slack.
My visioned darkened as Dr. Thorn jumped into the helicopter with me in tow,
My vision went black right as I made eye contact with Annabeth.
My last conscious thought was that I hoped my friends wouldn't worry about me too much. I had a feeling that this wouldn't end well.
So review, even if you think it stinks, but if you do that, please tell me why so I can grow! I would love to hear from you guys, so please review!
