It's now a few weeks ago since Kim and I got back together and it's great, I mean thinks are different with child, we haven't yet an officially date but I planned one and just need a babysitter for Makayla. We talked a lot and are now on the same page. We are like a family and I love it, it's like I dreamed about and Makayla loves our weekly run through the parc, what I mean is that she is riding her bike which she got from Kevin and I am running next to her, it's our thing and I love it, Kim loves it too because it's her time alone at home and she is doing her thing. But today is different, today we are going to the Blackhawks game with the unit at least Kevin, Jay, Hailey and Kim, Makayla and I. We have to be at the stadium in 1,5h and Kim is going crazy about things we might need – we definitely don't need a third outfit for Makayla. "Kim, darling, calm down! We don't need a third outfit for Kayla, she is five and not a few months old and won't poop her pants full." I said. "Nice word choice, Adam. Okay, I get it but we need hand sanitizer and wet wipes." Kim said. "When you think we need them, pack them but some of this things are unnecessary." I told her. "But what if... I never have been to something so big with her and I don't want fail..." Kim said. "Darling, you won't fail, you are doing an amazing job and everyone do mistakes and that made us to the people who we are, come on that's why love." I said and hugged her before I kissed her forehead. "Thank you, I love you too." Kim said and we kissed us. "I am finished!" Makayla said leaning against the doorframe. "Okay, but we have to tell you something before we go." I said kneeing down to look in her eyes. "Okay? But I am gonna stay with you and Kimmy?" Makayla asked me. It broke my heart that she is thinking that we are gonna leave her. "Of course, we stay with you, I wanted to tell you that we want that you always hold on of our hands when we are at the game and you always stay with one of us or Kevin. Jay or Hailey because we don't want to lose you there. There are a lot of people and I it might scare you but the people there just want to enjoy the game like we do." I told her. "Okay." She answered and as I stand up I kissed her on her head.
It had been so cute to watch Adam telling Makayla that we don't want to lose her at the game. Adam is so amazing with Makayla and it breaks my heart every time. "Let's go!" Adam cheered and kissed me.
When we arrived at the stadium only Kevin had been already there and we still have to wait for Hailey and Jay. "How is my little family?" Kevin asked. "Good as always!" Adam said and the two of them made their typical handshake. "And how is this little girl?" Kevin asked Makayla. "Good." She just answered. Then I saw Jay and Hailey in the middle of the crowd, I would say they haven't seen that I already saw them because they were holding hands. Upton and Halstead are together! Now I know it because something changed in their behavior lately. Hailey let Jay's hand go and they looked at each other with their typical glances. "There are you guys! We have been waiting for you!" Adam said and patted Jay on the shoulder. "This guy couldn't decide which jersey he would wear." Hailey said and we hugged us. Then I smelt it, the jersey smelled like Jay and was his Kane jersey. "Great to see you too." I answered. We bought soda, sweets, chips, popcorn and for the guy's beer. Makayla hold the whole time mine or Adam's hand but most of time mine. I think she was a bit scared from the whole situation and the large amount of people.
During the second break the three girls went to the restroom and to get a new round of popcorn after Halstead tossed it down. I took this as a chance to ask Kevin if he can babysit Makayla next week when I want to take Kim out on a date night. "Hey Kev, I want to surprise Kim with a date night next week on Friday because we haven't a real date yet since Makayla which isn't bad but I would like to make a real, right date night. Are you able to take my little girl for the night?" I asked him. "Ah, he just wants sex without being careful to wake Makayla up." Jay joked. "Really funny, Halstead." I said. "Sorry man, but I am having a friend over from Los Angeles." Kevin told me. "Okay, maybe I find somebody else, I could aske Platt." I sighed. "I am free, I could take her." Jay said and I literally bust my beer out of laugh. "You? Do you know anything about kids?" I ask him. "Funny Ruzek, I was sitter Owen's sitter a few times when Will was together with Natalie." Jay said. "But you would have her over the whole night, you know? I trust you at work but I am kinda worried if you have Kayla over for a whole night and she suffered a trauma and is still processing it, which means she has nightmares and normally crawl during the night in Kim's and my bed. It would be her first night without Kim." I told him. "Aww, the protective daddy thing suits you!" Kevin joked. "I know, I suffered a few traumas in my past too." Jay said. "Okay, I think I am gonna get back on you if I can't find anybody." I told him. I trust Jay but taking Makayla, I don't think so, he is a great colleague and friend but I am not sure if he can handle her and Kayla kinda doesn't really know him enough to feel safe alone with him, if it makes sense. The girls came back and sit down.
It's the last third of the game and the Blackhawks are in front with two goals. Kayla is sitting on Adams's lap to see better and I am holding hands with Adam. I saw Hailey and Jay exchanging glances between each other and then Hailey whispers something in Jay ear, he started smiling. The two are cute together and I am happy for them. Then it happened. Jay and Hailey kissed each other on the lips. I saw Adam's and Kevin's mouth literally fell open. I squeezed Adam's hand a bit to tell him to shoot his mouth and he did it. "Oh no! The sarge won the bet." Kevin said lifting his hands in the air, it has passed a few minutes till Kevin said anything and Jay and Hailey already have parted but were smiling at each other, but the smile disappears as Kevin mentioned the bet. "What bet?" Hailey asked. "We had a bet when you guys are telling us that you were together and when you got together." Adam told both of them. "Wait but you don't know when we got together." Jay said. "I know this is the next bet we are having; we are just waiting when you are gonna tell us." Kevin said. "Oh, then you gonna wait a long time to find out." Hailey laughed. "I am happy for both of you." I said and hugged Hailey. "Yeah, me too." Adam said and hugged Hailey after he patted Jay on the shoulder. And with the conversation had been early finished.
At the end, the Blackhawks won 5:3. After the game we drove to a dinner to eat all together. It was great, we laughed together and had fun. During the dessert Kim went with Hailey and Makayla to the toilet. "So, I texted Platt she doesn't have time Friday night so now I am gonna came back on your offer and I assume that now you and Upton are a thing that she is gonna help you, right? So, it would be great if you two would take care of her." I said. "Now that you know that I am not alone you are okay with me taking her." Jay laughed. "Sorry but I know you and I think an adult in the room wouldn't help." I joked back at him. "And no adult activities!" Kevin laughed. "Funny, really funny, by the way I can't imagine how careful Kim must be because Makayla is used to crawl in your bed at night, right Ruzek." Jay smirked. "Not funny, Kim second name is careful." I answered. "Stop with the love talk of my colleagues love lives!" Kevin stopped us. "Okay, I am gonna ask Hailey tonight and tell you tomorrow if it goes." Jay said. "Thanks man, I really appreciate it." I said. "What do you appreciate, Adam?" Kim asked, neither of us seeing them return. "He is just gonna send me a case file over later." I stumbled.
After diner we drove back home and bought Makayla to bed. I am sitting on the couch reading a book and I heard Adam talking to Makayla over the baby monitor. "Did you have a good day today?" Adam asked her. "Yeah, there had been so many people, I thought I am gonna to lose you or Kimmy." She said. "But we didn't and I am sure we would have found you, I am sure and Kimmy would have my ass, don't tell her I told you it." Adam said and Makayla giggled. Hearing Makayla laugh is the best thing I ever heard, we don't hear it often but every day she is here she gets happier. "We would be very sad if we lose you, you know we love you." Adam told her. "And you love each other." Makayla confessed. "Yes we do." Adam said, I didn't saw him but I am sure he smiled at Kayla. I looked up from my book to the baby monitor, Adam is smiling and Makayla is hugging him. Adam and Makayla have an amazing bond, Adam makes her giggles the most, is so loving to her if they have known each other for forever. I looked back at my book and around ten minutes later he put up my legs and sit down on the couch next to me. "She is asleep, the monitor was on, wasn't it." Adam told me. "Yeah I heard you two talking. And maybe, it made me fall for you a bit more." I said and put the book down. "Did it?" He smirked and snuggles up to me. "Yeah." I said and we kissed us. "I love you, you know." I said as our foreheads rested against each other's. "I love you too." Adam said and we kissed us again. It was a deep and passionate kiss. "Are we still watching that movie?" Adam asked as we pulled apart for taking air. "I am not really for watching a movie, let's g to bed and snuggle a bit, I am still cold from the stadium." I answered. "I can warm you up." Adam smirked. "Maybe." I smirked back at him and walked towards the master bedroom.
