One day at the Kilauea Lighthouse Sparky was happily sitting in his new home thinking of something to do.
He normally likes to play with the lighthouse at night so he decided to fly around town and get some fresh air.
As he was flying he spotted the local park and chose to stop by to get a drink from the fountain.
There were few people in the park that day so he found it safe to walk around and explore without being bothered.
As much as he likes to fly he doesn't get much exercise in the lighthouse so it's nice to stretch his legs out a bit.
While he was exploring and getting familiar with his new hometown he spots a teenager sitting at one of the park tables.
He was using some sort of device and had a backpack sitting on the table and a bike turned over on the floor behind him.
Sparky was intrigued by the music and sounds coming from the device and tried to get close enough to see without being noticed.
He gets close but the screen is too small to make anything out so he slowly inches his way closer until he can see.
As he does he gets a little too close and the boy notices his antennas from the corner of his eye and looks behind him.
Teen: Whoa, I've never seen a dog like this one before. How are you doing little guy?
Sparky takes a small step back but curiosity gets the better of him and tries to see the screen now that he has a better view.
Teen: Oh you want to see me play? Here sit next to me, it's called Pokemon Ruby. You know, you kind of look like a Pokemon.
Sparky hesitates a bit but then he smiles and decides to sit next to the teen and watch him play.
A small line of electricity pulses up his antennas as he jumps excitedly on the bench and sits next to the teen.
Teen: So you're an electric type Pokemon. Heh, that's so cool. Hang on I have a Pikachu in my team let me switch to him.
The boy changes his Pokemon to a Pikachu and resumes his battle.
Teen: See, he's an electric type like you. So, what's your name little guy. Mine's Richard but people call me Richie for short.
Sparky: S-sparky
Richie: Oh, so you can talk. Your name is Sparky huh, haha you know that kind of reminds me of the show.
There's a Pokemon trainer named Richie who has a Pikachu named Sparky...
Richie pauses for a sec and begins to smile, he opens his mouth to say something but stops short and resumes the game for him.
Sparky tilts his head a bit in confusion and notices Richie playing with a slightly bigger grin than before.
