The small ship rented by Alpha entered the atmosphere of the planet and approached the location of the base. They found an endless forest.
Old Rossberg commented, "Nice cloak.", from a passenger seat.
Carter looked at her co-pilot. "Akira?"
The Japanese grabbed the GDO and pressed the eight digit code. A huge part of the forest ahead faded out, making the room for an impressive and enormous dome, surrounded by the real forest.
Small cargo ships were parked outside. There were different types of ships. There was a wide space between the parking lot and the dome. Maryanne chose to land somewhere close to the real forest, so people wouldn't pay attention to Alpha's ship too much.
Once parked, Carter turned around her seat, imitated by her co-pilot, and started to give instructions to her team, "Enedan and Rossberg..."
The two Rossbergs simultaneously moved their head to Carter.
"Uh, young Rossberg, you stay here." the captain precised. "Do not get out of the ship unless you have no other choice."
Young Philip confirmed, "Yes, ma'am."
Enedan nodded.
Carter continued, "The rest will search the dome. Akira, any idea of where the weapon could be?"
Akira checked on a tablet computer. He had digitalized the blueprints. "There's a huge room in the western side of the dome. I bet on this place."
The team looked at the scientist, perplex.
"If I had to build a weapon powerful enough to destroy a planet, it would be a big one, and I'd need a big room, which is the case for that room." the scientist justified.
Old Rossberg frowned, perplex. "It's not always a matter of size, Akira..."
Philip sensed someone was looking at him. Indeed, Maryanne, Bernard, Enedan, and the other Philip were glancing at him in a strange way because his words could refer to a very different topic...
Carter didn't argue and said, "Okay, let's start with this place. Enedan, Rossberg, check in every twenty minutes."
Enedan and young Philip nodded. The rest of the team gathered around the case while Enedan was taking the pilot seat and Philip, the co-pilot. Rousseau opened the case and handed out satchels, chest rigs, throat microphones, and alien guns called coner with their holsters. These guns were shorter than a thigh but longer than a gun with its silencer manufactured on Earth. They were also heavier. They had a similar shape as guns from Earth. Some parts had the same color as gold although they weren't made of gold. Each member was given two coners, one to be hidden in each satchel.
Later, Maryanne, Akira, Bernard, and old Philip looked like smugglers coming for business with their outfits, satchels, and hand weapons on the thigh. The chest rig was hidden beneath a jacket. The throat microphone was hidden by a scarf or a collar. Nobody could guess they were Black Stone Alpha unless they looked at them carefully, as Alpha team members weren't wearing their traditional outfit. Besides, they added a bonnet to their undercover clothing.
There was nothing particular to report outside the dome. It was very calm. The owners of the cargo ships there were taking a nap, in a seat or directly on the ground; or playing cards around cases; or drinking bottles of alcohol for they were acting like drunk people; or enjoying the sun. All these people, men and women, didn't look like they belonged to a profesional army as they didn't share the same type of clothing for instance. They looked rather like smugglers; or people at the bottom of criminal organizations, those who execute the orders without any question; or perhaps mercenaries. The majority had a hand weapon tied to a part of their body, thus, nobody paid attention to Alpha and their coners. As a matter of fact, nobody paid attention to Alpha team approaching the dome at all. Even the entrance wasn't watched.
Old Rossberg expressed, bewildered, "Do these people know they're near a weapon of mass destruction?", to a nonplussed Alpha team.
Later, on the ground floor inside the dome where the surveillance scheme seemed to be light, Akira was leading his teammates with the help of his tablet. "Should be this way." he said, pointing out a corridor on the left.
