The captain pulled out two blocks of C-4 from her chest rig. She placed a detonator into each while Sakai was reaching the bomb to examine it.

Akira was observing the massive weapon. The blocks were linked to each other by a set of four tubes. The block at the middle contained the explosive substance, in liquid format. Akira could see it through the small windows on the surface of the cylinder. The liquid was black, contrasting with the metallic grey color of the structure. The scientist noticed chinks on a block next to the one containing the liquid. He understood he had to press the square delimited by the chinks. The hatch door rose and a platform exited like a drawer. Sakai faced a small console panel with a screen and a keyboard, and cobblestones of different sizes and colors.

"Sakai?" Carter said.

"Yes?" the scientist responded, turning to Maryanne, who was questioning him with her yes. "Oh, just thinking about where we should place the C-4. Give me a minute, captain."

The man manipulated the console. Shapes with notes appeared on the screen. Sakai understood it was possible to open the cylinder with the altromium inside. He pressed the keyboard. A hatch door opened on the desired cylinder. Sakai looked at it, then, at Carter. The same idea popped into their mind. The captain gave one block of C-4 to Sakai, who hid it into the cylinder with the liquid. Carter hid the second block into the compartiment of the console. Sakai shut down the console and closed everything to cover Alpha's tracks. Carter and Sakai used other two blocks of C-4 for the second bomb.

Maryanne spoke into her throat microphone, "Enedan, Rossberg, Carter here. We found the weapon and sticked C-4. We're taking some time to explore the complex and we're going home."

Enedan responded, over radio, "Copy that, captain. On our end, nothing to report. There's not much activity there."

Hope it looks coherent. I'm not an expert in weapons of mass destruction and how to make them explode. I didn't do much research on that on the Internet because we never know, somebody could get the wrong message. I just assumed there could be a chain reaction with this altromium when the C-4 explodes.
