Chapter 7

Rollan lied covered with a blanket on the couch in Arthur's office sleeping. Next to the couch, where Rollan was sleeping there was the window, which had the shutters down, and through it shined the sunlight blending the boy, making him wrinkle his nose and turn his face away from it, groaning softly. Someone knocked on the door, then opened it up slowly and it was a dark-blonde, medium-aged woman that had appeared to gaze at the sleeping teen.

„Good morning, time to get up," The woman announced watching hide his head behind the lean of the couch making the woman shake her head amused by the motivation of the boy, then she got into the room and pressed on the wall the button to open the shutters. „Wake up, it's time for you to get ready for school," Warned the woman, then Rollan got woken by the sunlight, then sat up releasing a loud yawn and looked up to the woman, that got into the room.

„Didn't you have a quite warm night with that shirt?" Asked the woman looking at Rollan wearing a black shirt, then the Spaniard shrug his shoulders.

„Throughout the night a little," Confessed Rollan and got up from the couch, then folded the cover together, and the woman tilted the window to let fresh air get into the room. „You're Mrs. Hemming?" Questioned Rollan earning a nod from the woman, which held out her hand at the boy.

„I'm Georgette Hemming," Responded the woman making Rollan furrow his left eyebrow curious at her name. „I'm originally French,"

„Oh okay," Responded Rollan. „Nice to meet you Mrs. Hemming. So…..I…..what will be my first task be today?"

„Arthur and I thought we should just start with that next Monday. Today you can go and have your first school day, sure a Friday isn't the best way for you to start a school year, but it's better than nothing,"

„Si," Responded Rollan, then his stomach growled loud and Rollan grinned a little sheepishly. „Perdona-me, since my stay at the hospital, I feel lighter than usual,"

„Don't worry, we're not sending you to school without anything to eat," Georgette stated walking out of the room with Rollan to enter into the kitchen, where Rollan could now take a better look at the strange devices he found in there. „I don't know, what in your time you had for sort of breakfasts, but currently in here we've got bread you can toast or cereals….well children cereals," Explained the woman opening up a closet which had various dry products and took out a cereal box, which had the superheroine Ladybug on it.

„They're….muy colorido," Mentioned Rollan making Georgette smile enchanted noticing Rollan's slip into his Hispanic roots.

„I only give my boys this once or twice a week, cause they're too sweet. Otherwise I give them from the basic one over there,"

„Okay I think today I will go on with the toast," Rollan said taking the package down, then looked around the kitchen and Georgette walked to the toaster to see the young man look around for anything. „Where are the pans?"

„Oh if you want to toast them, we've got here the toaster," Georgette said showing the boy the device and he looked at the pack, then took out two slices and inserted them in it.

„And now?" Asked Rollan watching Georgette pull the lever down, fastening it on the ground, so that the two bread slices would hide inside the device. „Okay and that will roast the bread now?"

„Yes," Responded the woman. „It takes about a minute. It's very quick and also here you can make it take longer, so it will get more tan,"

„Cool and what else can it do?"

„Uh that's pretty much everything it can do," Corrected Georgette. „But now that you're here, we've got the fridge, where we keep all the food and drinks cold and fresh,"

„Wow,"

„And this little thing here is a mixer. You're able to add fruits and any other ingredients into it to make a drink. I'm the only one using it for now, because I need to be fit for the work and I make several shakes, that help me gain more energy. That very small machine over there is a coffee machine, which is very easy to handle," Said Georgette moving to the small device and opened the second drawer under the counter to show him two boxes with different coffee sorts and took out a capsule to show it to the Spaniard. „You insert this capsule inside this hole here, press the handle down and press one of these buttons here, two cups is for two and one for one," Explained the woman and arranged from another counter two coffee mugs and placed them under the coffee machine, so she could have them refilled by the coffee machine.

„Very cool," Commented Rollan, then he shrieked as he heard the toaster free the two bread slices and he felt astonished at seeing the two slices toasted.

„And if you want, I've got butter in the fridge. Just take a knife from the drawer and pass it over them. If you don't mind Arthur or I can explain you the rest, when you get home from school,"

„Si Mrs. Hemming," Replied Rollan opening a drawer to find a knife and took the butter from the fridge to coat it over the toast.

„And make yourself fresh and dressed for school. You don't want to make a bad first impression at the school, right?"

„No, no, of course not," Commented Rollan taking a bite of his slice, then Georgette moved her hand at the table, so Rollan would know he could sit down, which he did and pulled a chair back making the woman smile at the mannerism of the raven-haired boy.

Gerda was heading to school along with Fabienne, the girl she met at the home along with a brunette girl named Victoria.

„Wai…..wait, you're telling me, that you actually have parents, but you were taken away from them?" Asked Gerda looking at the brunette teenager.

„Yeah,"

„I wasn't aware, this was legal,"

„If you're being mistreated or anything in your family's house that is the best thing that can happen to some. Other kids would have remained quiet until it was late,"

„Well, that would not be good either. I'm really shocked, that not all of us are here, because of having lost our parents," Commented Gerda making Victoria nod.

„Didn't you say, you weren't aware, where your parents were?"

„And I'm not. I know I was young and saw my parents hide me along with my brother in the chamber. After that I have never seen them again,"

„What was happening on that night? Do you remember?"

„I remember seeing the village turn into ice and my father break into our house ordering us to hide and after we did it…...they were gone. Just the room was frozen,"

„Wow…..."

„And when you and your friend there were frozen, you were by a lake you say?" Asked Fabienne making Gerda shrug her shoulders.

„I assume it. We were together looking for an artifact and what happened next or how we got frozen, I don't remember,"

„Oh okay,"

„Well this sounds harsh now coming from me, but in two years you won't really need them anymore. You're practically an adult by then, some of us even matured more, than others do with parents," Victoria commented making Fabienne nod.

„You know a couple of them have parents, who barely take care of them or assume they're good as long as no one noticed anything, they could cause bad, like that Jarvis from 11B, which apparently was doing drugs in several schools until someone spitted his cover off and he got arrested," Fabienne pointed out.

„Woah, how old was he for been doing that kind of stuff?" Questioned Gerda curious.

„Well Jarvis just brought it, someone else was responsible for the rest, but the cops are or were working on it," Fabienne responded then stopped at the zebra crossing, which was red and pointed at the Françoise Dupont school. „That's our school and as you see a couple of students have already arrived,"

„Yes," Responded Gerda seeing along with the girls the traffic lights turn green, so the trio could cross the road and step on the plot of the school making their way to the stairs spotting there a blonde girl in a pink dress standing in front of Alix Kubdel, which was showing her something on her smartphone.

„Good morning Rose, hey Alix," Greeted Fabienne looking at the two girls waving at the trio, then Rose widened her eyes to spot Gerda, which she hasn't seen before,

„Hey! Is she the new girl joining our class?!" Asked Rose with a high voice making the two students around Gerda shrug her shoulders.

„I have no idea, which class I am joining, except it's the 11th one," Gerda mentioned and Rose placed her hands on Gerda's.

„Alix and I are in the Eleventh grade and Miss Bustier told us about you coming into our class," Mentioned Rose. „She told us you were frozen for over 100 years along with another boy I've heard,"

„And that you two are alive is big. Everyone's been talking about this the entire week and now we've got them in our school," Alix added making Fabienne nod.

„I hope you all will treat them normal. Sure they will need help with the technology and a few other things, that didn't exist in their time. But they're just as humane as all of us,"

„Don't worry Fabienne, we will take good care of her," Rose promised. „How about I show you, where our classroom is?"

„Sure, I would like that," Responded Gerda.

„My friend Juleka hasn't arrived yet, is it okay if we wait here for her?" Asked the blonde making Gerda nod.

„No problem," Responded Gerda. „You're….Rose, right?"

„Exactly!" Responded the short girl. „Alix here is Alix. She's in our class as well," Stated Rose making the pink-haired chuckle at Rose's comment.

„I'm walking in, going to see if my boy Nathaniel is here," Commented Alix entering into the school making the two blondes nod.

„Who's Nathaniel?"

„He's a boy from our class. He's a shy, quiet, artistic boy," Explained Rose making Gerda smile.

„My brother…..used to be like that…..at least he was very artistic," Commented Gerda neutral making Rose sink down her head and embrace the girl, which got surprised, making the two other orphans moan enchanted at the blonde's deed.

„Awww!"

„So sweet….."Commented Victoria rolling her eyes at the street to spot a gray Sedan stop and a blonde student leaving the vehicle shrieking the girl. „It's…..mmmmm..."Stammered Victoria grabbing Fabienne in her arms making her groan annoyed at Victoria's reaction.

„What's with the girls and Adrien?" Questioned Fabienne watching Rose take her arms off Gerda to look at the boy approach the stairs, then furrow his eyebrows at seeing Victoria hide behind Fabienne.

„Uh hey?" Greeted Adrien then he looked at Rose, which stood together with Gerda. „Is that the girl, that will join our class?" Asked Adrien approaching Gerda, which smiled at the blonde.

„Y...yes," Responded Gerda a little amazed by the looks of the blonde.

„I'm Adrien Agreste. You probably have heard of my father Gabriel Agreste? He found along with his assistant you in a frozen state?" Asked Adrien making Gerda shrug.

„I didn't catch his name yet,"

„Alright, maybe he didn't want to show his face…...But you probably have heard about me or at least seen me around in some billboards right?" Asked Adrien holding his hand out, so Gerda could shake it.
„Uh no, it's the first time I see you" Commented Gerda making Adrien furrow his brows surprised.

„Really?" Asked Adrien, then looked back at a billboard to see his face on a perfume ad. „Not even that one there?" Asked Adrien watching Gerda look up at the billboard and shrug her shoulders.

„Sorry I didn't pay attention to that," Commented Gerda making Adrien nod.

„Okay, I'm quite surprised….well….welcome to our school. I hope you will like it here," Adrien wished making Gerda nod, which watched Adrien walk into the school and a few girls ran at the boy, crying and following him to the other side of the court.

„Okay, that was weird," Commented Gerda making Fabienne nod.

„He's a teeny model and he's the most handsome one in Paris. It used to be worse when he was new here. People went nuts,"

„Okay,"

„You've found him bewitching as well, didn't you?" Asked Victoria crossing her arms with a smirk, then Gerda shrugged her shoulders.

„He does look cute, but he doesn't really pick my interest in any way,"

„Come on, everyone here finds Adrien handsome. Name me any other boy, any school, any city that may surpass his looks…..At least in your opinion," Asked Victoria making Gerda chuckle.

„That's hard, when you barely know anyone," Mentioned Gerda, then she recognized behind Fabienne and Victoria her friend Rollan, then lifted her head to see him. Rollan noticed Gerda, afterward smiled at her, and got beside Fabienne to greet Gerda.

„Buenos dias, Gerda!" Greeted Rollan earning the attention of Fabienne and Victoria, then the younger girl screamed as she saw Rollan, which covered his ears along with Fabienne and Gerda.

„Victoria! We're not deaf!" Hissed Fabienne and watched every one uncover their ears as Victoria had stopped, then Rollan, which was confused about what happened raised both his arms up.

„Perdono…..I just wanted to greet my friend," Mentioned Rollan making Fabienne nod.

„Sorry my friend here is….uhm…..being herself," Fabienne responded looking at Victoria unaware, of what she should tell a random stranger.

„Great to see you here, Rollan," Greeted Gerda giving the tall boy a short hug. „I'm sorry I couldn't attend your phone call yesterday,"

„It's fine, we can talk today if you want or make up another time," Responded Rollan, then looked at the girls, which stood there looking normally at him, except for Victoria, which was staring at him with big eyes. „Is your friend okay?" Asked Rollan looking at Victoria, then Fabienne nodded. „Okay,"

„That's Fabienne and Victoria. They're from the same home as me and this is Rose. I will be in her class," Gerda introduced, then noticed Rollan's clothing style was a little odd than hers. „Why is your shirt so tight?"

„Mr. Hemming didn't have anything I could use in my size. But his wife promised she would show me a clothing store, so I would get something in my size,"

„C...can I feel your arms?" Asked Victoria turning a little red, making Rollan warp his face questioningly and hold it out for her, then she grabbed it, making Fabienne turn around to hide her laughter and Rose stood there with Gerda, watching Rollan get bewildered at the girl's behavior.

„I think that's enough for now," Mentioned Rollan watching the girl take her arm down.

„You're Spanish, right? You sound like one,"

„Originally I am," Responded Rollan, then Victoria got elbowed by the oldest teen, which glared at the friend.

„Hey, I'm trying to talk," Victoria complained making Rollan feel a little uncomfortable around the two girls.

„I think we better get going, right Victoria?" Asked Fabienne pulling the friend along into the court, then Rollan looked at Gerda, which shrugged her shoulders and the three entered into the court to see several students hanging together, before the school start.

„Wait a second, Juleka has arrived," Rose warned stopping Gerda along with Rollan, while the other two teens moved along.

„Who's Juleka?" Asked Rollan looking at Gerda.

„A friend of Rose," Responded Gerda seeing a raven-haired girl with black clothing walking along with a taller boy, which carried on his back a guitar, making Rollan curious.

„That guy over there is stylish," Commented Rollan making Rose nod.

„That's her brother Luka," Rose commented waving at the two Couffaines, which got stairs up.

„Oh you've already befriended the newbies," Commented Luka making Rose nod.

„Well Robbie just joined us now," Rose commented making Rollan look at the blonde girl confused.

„I haven't introduced myself to you yet, I'm Rollan," Rollan said holding his hand out at Rose, which placed her hand in front of her mouth as she figured out she said his name wrong.

„Oh I'm sorry," Apologized Rose. „This is Rollan, not Robbie and that girl there is Gerda, she's in our class,"

„So this means you're going to be in my class," Commented Luka making Rollan shrug his shoulders.

„Are you in the 12th grade?" Questioned Rollan making Luka nod. „Then we are,"

„Yeah, unless you're in the other 12th grade, but they're not getting any new student, just ours," Commented Luka. „I'm Luka and this is my sister Juleka," Introduced Luka shaking Rollan's hand, followed by Juleka.

„That girl over there is my best friend Juleka," Commented Rose to Gerda, which nodded and shook the hand of the two Couffaines. „This is Gerda,"

„Wow, both of you have got such unique names," Mentioned Luka. „You're able to speak Spanish, aren't you?" Asked Luka looking at Rollan, which nodded. „Cool, this means you will enjoy it to talk with Vivica. She speaks Spanish as well, execpt it's the latin one,"

„Maybe," Responded Rollan and Rose grabbed herself on Juleka's arm making her smile a little as she spotted Miss Bustier walk across the court a little curved back. „Miss Bustier and her baby bump," Fawned Rose making Luka chuckle.

„Your teacher is expecting in a few months her first child. Isn't that cute?" Asked Luka the Scandinavian girl, which nodded.

„Being a teacher and being pregnant at the same time sure is challenging," Admitted Gerda making Luka nod.

„It really is," Added Rose, then she ran toward the teacher to offer her a hand and Miss Bustier smiled giving Rose her suitcase with wheels, which the blonde pulled across the floor to bring it into the classroom.

The group went stairs up, stopping by the class of Miss Bustier and Gerda entered along with Juleka into the classroom of Miss Bustier, while the boys went further to theirs. Both girls stopped at the desk of Miss Bustier, where Rose assisted the woman in putting on the table her utensils for the class.

„It's alright Rose. I'm really thankful for your help. I want to continue from now on," Miss Bustier commented, then Rose moved towards Gerda and pulled her gently to the desk.

„Miss Bustier have you meet Gerda yet?" Asked Rose.

„Our new student you mean?" Asked Miss Bustier glancing up, then she spotted Gerda and smiled at the girl. „My no, I haven't yet. Welcome into our class, I'm Miss Bustier," Introduced the teacher holding out her hand to shake, making Gerda smile.

„Hi Miss Bustier," Greeted the blonde.

„Rose, would you show her, where she can sit?" Asked the teacher making Rose nod, which accompanied Gerda to a seat, which was on the third row.

„This is the only free place we've got, next to Ivan," Rose stated. „Don't worry. Ivan is very tall, but he's one of the kindest boys in our class,"

„Alright," Gerda responded sitting down on the seat, then watched a few more students get into the classroom and on the first room sat down a blue-haired girl along with a tan-skinned girl with brown hair, which were talking.

„After school, I will meet Madame Lenoir. I received a letter saying Cat Noir found two mysterious things, than could be miraculouses," Whispered Marinette. „And if they really are, they're none to be seen in the book I've got,"

„Maybe they're from another sort of box? Didn't you tell in New York the heroes were miraculous holders as well?"

„Yes and if my theory of Gabriel being Hawk Moth makes sense, I could even believe the miraculouses are from Norway or the entire Scandinavian peninsula. You've seen Gabriel wasn't present during these weeks and Hawk Moth hasn't akumatized anyone during his absence, which is suspicious,"

„Uh hum," Replied Alya, then noticed Rose and waved at the girl, which mirrored her greeting. Alya rolled her eyes to encounter Gerda sit there looking at the window seeing a few students walk on the corridor, then Alya got up and reached her hand at Gerda. „Hello. Welcome to our class, I'm Alya Césaire, the co-class representative," Introduced Alya making Gerda smile and give her hand to the Martinic-descendant girl.

„I'm Gerda. Nice to meet you,"

„I've heard about your story and I know this is all early and all, but I would really like to listen to your story and share it on our school blog,"

„Uh what's the school blog?" Asked Gerda.

„Oh you're new in all that, right…..look uhm…..I can wait with all this. Let you get used to our modern world. We're all here to help you move on. All you gotta do is ask"

„I will, thank you, Alya,"

„And that girl over there is Marinette," Alya introduced watching Marinette wave at the newbie.

„Have you already met anyone else yet or just us?"

„Juleka and Rose…...Juleka's brother and the blonde boy from the advertisement," Gerda responded, then heard at the entrance Kim Chien Le fall into the classroom along with Ivan Bruel, which had got stuck together at the door.

„What's going on?" Asked Alya seeing the two boys on the ground.

„I think Adrien has gotten some new competition in terms of good looks," Kim commented getting up along with Ivan. „Luka had introduced Ivan a new guy to us and has let him pull a few strings on his guitar and suddenly a couple of girls raced towards the two….well the new guy mostly," Explained Kim and Alix, who sat on the table using her smartphone opened a video with someone playing a few notes on the guitar and she turned the smartphone to the guys, which nodded.

„Yeah that's the guy," Commented Kim and Alix showed it to Marinette and Alya, seeing Rollan trying to play a decent tone on it with Luka next to him move his head as the Spaniard seemed to be doing a decent job.

„Oh my god!" Screamed a voice, then two girls jumped at Rollan bringing him down, shrieking Luka, which got down to help Rollan out, followed by Nino Lahiffe, the boyfriend of Alya, which was present watching the practice.

„Well he does look handsome, but who knows, maybe he's not what he seems to be," Commented Marinette making Alya shake her head.

„You better wait girl, you've misjudged a few people wrong lately," Alya commented making Gerda chuckle.

„Really?" Asked Gerda making Marinette blush embarrassed. „I don't think Rollan is a bad person. At least since I've met him he hasn't shown anything I find bad,"

„How long do you know him?" Questioned Marinette making Gerda ponder.

„Hmm I'd say two weeks maybe," Responded Gerda. „I met him at one friend's house,"

„Oh," Responded Alya curious, then the school bell rang and all the classmates entered the classroom, returning to their seats, so Miss Bustier could start the lesson.

„Good morning students, as some of you probably noticed. We've got a new student. Tell Gerda good morning,"

„Good morning," The class chanted making Gerda feel a little embarrassed at their greeting.

„This hour we will work a little differently, than usual. Today we will spend the entire literature lesson in the library. I would like you before we go there to fill in this sheet and tell me, what is something you usually don't read or have never read before. After that, each of you will go with the deskmate together to the library and help each other out looking for a book the other could read," Miss Bustier explained starting to hand out to her students the sheets they have to fill in.
