Chapter 8
Orm sat on the back of a motor scooter behind Hendrick making their way together to the lake Gao to work on their plan in order to bring out Orm's friends.
„Behind a blue sign in a few kilometers, you follow the small path, which leads us directly to the kingdom, near the birthplace of the trolls, where lake Gao is located," Warned Orm holding his nose above the man's shoulder.
„That path is only for tourists walking by feet according to that sign," Mentioned the driver watching Orm shake his head.
„No one's here to say anything, besides me and I allow you that,"
„If you say so," Responded Hendrick turning the blinker on to turn to the steeper path, then he pressed on the brake to slow down during their descend and reached the birthplace, then Hendrick looked up at the tall monument. „This looks taller than I imagined,"
„You really think so?" Questioned Orm getting down of the bike, then watched the man get down and open the seat to take out a long rope, which he gave to the troll. „Come let's get down," Asked the troll, then gave the man his hand, then Orm grabbed the pole hammer that he left on the ground the other time.
„Wow have you done that?" Asked Hendrick surprised at seeing the big missing parts of the lake making Orm shake his head.
„No, and whoever got me out of there never showed his or her face," Pointed Orm out placing the pole hammer on the ledge of the cliff and went down on his knees to glance through the ice. „I can't see well through here,"
„Can I use the pole hammer to get up? I have brought looking glass that could help us," Mentioned Hendrick making Orm nod.
„Yeah, we could give it a try. Move on, I'll try to walk over the ice," Orm responded, then he crawled carefully over the ice. „What could have possibly caused a hole this big on the ice?" Questioned Orm himself making a stop to glance through the frozen water. He sighed, then moved on continuing to talk to himself. „That monster, that possessed Rollan's body at the war was the only thing, that could cause this mess, but….this must all be a misunderstanding. It must have been a large rock or anything else, that fell into the lake,"
Orm stopped far away from the large, hole and held his face against the ice, and heard Hendrick whistle to call Orm's attention.
„Is it possible for you to use telekinesis and bring it to me?" Asked Orm making the man nod, which then uses his power to bring the looking glass at the troll, which caught it and shove it into the water to gaze into it. Orm moved the looking glass deeper into the water, adjusting his face aside so he would have his nose out of the water. „Henry! I've found the locomotive!"
„I thought we were looking for your friends,"
„They're supposed to be in there!" Yelled Orm making the man nod.
„Oh! Right!"
„Will you come here and try to lift it up?" Asked Orm, then watched Hendrick get up on the ice carefully. „Don't worry, wa….walk in the middle and the chances for it to break are low,"
„This is a little too much for me," Commented the senior making Orm roll his eyes.
„Give me the end of the rope and I'll pull you here," Suggested Orm watching the senior swing the rope to throw at the troll, which caught it. „Now sit down and I will pull you to me," Explained the troll, which began to pull on the man as he nodded in agreement.
„It's going well," Mentioned Hendrick as he was being pulled over the ice without any problem until he got nearer to Orm. Orm dropped the rope and gave the man the looking glass, so he would look through it while crawling carefully at the edge. „Okay I see it, if you don't mind tying the rope and me and when I lift up my hand you begin to pull me away carefully so I can move the locomotive out at the ground. How does this sound to you?"
„Good," Commented Orm watching the man begin to use his telekinesis to slowly pull up the locomotive and the troll walked backward to give the man enough space to step back, when necessary. Orm watched the man strain himself to get the locomotive out of the deep. Orm saw the man lift up his arm, then Orm began to pull the man slow away from the edge and observed the situation around the man afterward spotted from the water the head of the locomotive look out making Orm smile happy as the plan really was working.
„Very well!" Complimented Orm seeing the rest of the train get out, then the senior moved the locomotive to the top of the cliff, then he began to groan and place his hand in front of his forehead losing the train, causing Orm to cry seeing the locomotive land on the edge of the cliff nearly about to lose its equilibrium. Orm pulled the man back, which kept holding his hands in front of his forehead to massage it, then Orm got down on his knees to look at the man.
„What happened?"
„You know I'm not the youngest person here. I can't exert myself so much like when I was younger,"
„Okay, we better get up there, before the train falls on us," Orm said grabbing the man from the side and began to climb the cliff up with the help of the pole hammer.
As Orm got to the top in a minute, he pushed the man on top, which helped the troll afterward, then the two ran at the locomotive to spot in there two frozen humans in there. Orm used the pole hammer to push out a state, which looked to be standing in a position similar to the downward dog in yoga and Orm pulled the statue by it's leg and recognized it as Kai. The senior used in the meanwhile his telekinesis to pull Alfida out and Orm grabbed Alfida as well, falling down on his back and the locomotive slowly swanked to the other direction to fall down into the lake through the open hole, which already was broken.
„Oh boy, what a luck," Orm commented sitting down on the ground passing his hand in front of his forehead. „Alfida and Kai are out, but what's more questioningly for me is…..why isn't Gerda or Rollan around? Or the demons that took over them?"
„I don't know how they look like, but I have only spotted this locomotive in there. I haven't seen anyone on this part,"
„They should be on this side or Gerda at least," Orm commented looking at his pole hammer. „When I pulled her into the dead we fell together. She must have been frozen on the same spot as me,"
„But….who has pulled you out?" Questioned Hendrick. „Didn't you mention, you weren't aware?"
„Do you think Gerda could be alive and have done that?"
„I don't know, they can't just disappear from the lake, can't they?"
„Hmm if this is really the case, I wonder why Gerda would have left me back? Or why would she leave?"
„Could it be possible, that from having been uhm….captured by the Snow Queen, that she felt guilty and ran off?" Hendrick mentioned. „Or maybe something else happened…...she could have been kidnapped or when she was found frozen she was taken to a hospital?"
„What's that?"
„Oh sorry. You know to a doctor or people specialized in healing every sort of problems," Explained the senior. „If you want we can check the next hospital and look for her,"
„Okay so….have you per coincidence got anything to make fire?" Asked Orm making the man shake his head. „Alright," Replied Orm beginning to ponder about another solution, then looked at the castle and figured out, what to do. „Grab the girl, I think we could make a fire there in the palace. I've been in there several times," Orm stated making the man nod, which grabbed the girl and Orm picked the statue, where Kai was frozen in it, then together the two made their way to the palace.
Ladybug sat in the living room of the small apartment of Madame Lenoir drinking a cup of tea while gazing at the senior woman analyzing the two objects Cat Noir had obtained.
„Where exactly has Cat Noir found those things?" Asked Ladybug. „The last time I was with him he didn't tell me anything about it,"
„Not very long ago. He said he took it immediately before they would disappear again," Explained Marianne. „He found it in the house of the Agreste's,"
It's kind of funny, cause during the time Gabriel was gone in Norway, there were no akumatizations and the last times akumas happened with Gabriel around he was always gone and appeared back after everything had ended. This is very suspicious if we think about that"
„Hmm okay, you know we're alone here at the moment, if you want we can give it a try and see, what happens if we put it on," Suggested Marianne handing out the belt to Ladybug, which placed it around her waist and in front of her appeared a black coal-shaped, which fell down on her legs making her furrow her eyebrows in confusion.
„Poor thing," Commented Ladybug sad watching the strange creature wipe his eyes and look up at Ladybug fascinated.
„Hey pretty lady," Commented the spirit with a high voice, making Ladybug blush, then shake her head.
„Uh hi….erm you're a kwami, right?" Questioned Ladybug making the spirit look confused at the heroine.
„Coal is my name. I'm the spirit of the Fire Demon or….used to be. From me you receive the power of fire," Introduced the coal-themed spirit and Ladybug looked at Marianne, which was looking bewildered at the spirit.
„Did you understand it?" Asked Marianne making Ladybug nod.
„It spoke normal English to me"
„Ah right, you know only the one who has to carry me around, you know for the powers is able to understand me, anyone else doesn't understand a single thing," Mentioned Coal making Ladybug nod.
„Only holders understand them, Marianne," Mentioned Ladybug, then Marianne placed the wreath on her head for the ice-themed spirit to appear and wave at Marianne making her smile, while Coal dropped his mouth astonished by the kwami.
„Good day Snowflake," Greeted Marianne with a smile and looked at Ladybug. „Snowflake is responsible for ice. Both are just like your and Cat's miraculouses the opposite from each other,"
„Fire and Ice?
„Yes,"
„So they're just like ours. Fire is literally is meant for destruction and ice for creation in a way," Ladybug commented making Marianne shrug her shoulders.
„Just more or less powerful," Mentioned the woman making Ladybug nod.
„Alright, I will keep them with me," Ladybug mentioned seeing Coal hold hands with the spirit kwami, making Ladybug widen her eyes surprised. „I thought kwamis don't fall in love,"
„Well, I think they didn't say anything of being a kwamis. At least Snowflake did,"
„Neither did Coal, so they must be something else," Ladybug said and tapped on the shoulder of Coal and yelped as she burnt herself on the creature. „Ouch!"
„Oh, oh, spots-girl. I'm hot and by hot I mean I can burn you," Coal warned making Ladybug nod.
„Yes, I can see that," Ladybug answered a little pissed at the injury. „Look Coal, one question. What sort of…..function do you have with this?" Asked Ladybug pointing at her belt.
„It's a very long story…."
„Alright, then make it brief,"
„Oh uh…...well I used to serve the fire-demon when he was alive. He was a four-legged creature and ruler of the underworld thousand of years ago. He got defeated one day by a powerful magician and I was locked up into a stone they called the Wishing Stone. The same happened to Snowflake's owner,the Snow Queen. To avoid any trouble to the world the stone was hidden in a temple, where no one shall enter and whoever would dare to put the hands on it would get cursed. The last two who had the luck to put their hands on the stone had lost their control over and their bodies were taken by the Snow Queen and the Fire Demon. What exactly happened after all that, I've got no information, except both ended up frozen in the lake Gao and on the time I first saw this belt you wear there, there was a mysterious older man, that had taken that belt out of a magma-red-colored liquid inside a lavatory. He mentioned this belt would help the next person to use the powers, the only difference I think was, that by saying a specific phrase the master of the belt would have his powers get deactivated or activated,"
„And what sentence would that be?" Asked Ladybug.
„Coal, I'm fired up and Coal, Cooldown," Responded the black spirit.
„Snowflake's is Snowflake, Freeze and…...Woah!" Shrieked the elder lady transforming into a white-skinned superheroine in an ice-blue dress and a snowflake-themed crown, resembling the old Snow Queen, which once possessed the little girl Irma from a known myth.
„Okay…..it works," Ladybug commented, then Marianne threw an ice blast against a table across the room.
„Snowflake, thaw!" Shouted Marianne transforming back into herself. „Okay, I think the best thing for you is to keep them with the others," Mentioned Marianne.
„Yeah and random question to the two spirits….Has anyone seen you in the last few days? Besides me and that old man, that presumably created this function for you two?" Ladybug asked, then Snowflake spoke to Marianne, which listened carefully to the spirit.
„Snowflake says a very tall man with glasses, blonde hair and a white jacket were checking the wreath out as well. The second person was a woman in a dark suit, dark hair and glasses as well,"
„She had a red streak on her hair?" Asked Ladybug making the spirit nod, then Ladybug raised her fist up in victory. „That only can be Gabriel,"
„But you're not going to get into his house like that, aren't you?" Asked Marianne a little unhappy about the revelation.
„Of course not, but I will write down all these facts and if they all make sense in the end, I may consider talking to Cat Noir about it. We could make a plan and put an eye on Gabriel or two?"
„Okay and Ladybug remember, you can count on me as well, when you need anything," Marianne warned placing her hand on Ladybug's arm making her smile.
„Thanks Madame Lenoir," Ladybug thanked giving the woman a soft smile.
Rollan left the office of the principal along with a brunette man, which closed the door behind them.
„Was a tough day, wasn't it?" Asked the brunette man looking at Rollan, which shrugged his shoulders.
„It was very different," Responded Rollan. „It's so weird, that in some classes we work together with that small tablet and in other classes, we use paper and pencil. Luka gave me help sometimes with the tablet when I had no idea how to get out of there. He's very paciente,"
„Luka has a really good character. You can always count on him helping you when you're stuck,"
„Cool, but I will still give my best to make the most things by myself, so I'm able to work by myself,"
„That's good Rollan, but you can take your time. Next week you will have your first lessons with Mrs. Mancinelli, she will look together with you at certain topics and work together with you. It's going to work out for you and if you need help, you can come ot me,"
„Thank you, Mr. Moreau. I will," Rollan responded and held his hand out to shake. „Have a nice weekend," Rollan wished making the teacher smile and move further and Rollan went downstairs to the court, then spotted a few guys playing basketball with each other and Rollan stood back observing them. One of the boys he recognized, it was Kim Chien Le, who he had met in the morning along with Luka and another student, which was present was a brunette from his class, whose name he couldn't remember exactly.
„What kind of game is that?" Asked Rollan watching the brunette catch the ball and stop.
„Hey Rollan," Greeted the boy approaching the Spaniard.
„Sorry I forgot your name,"
„Wayhem," Repeated the brunette.
„Yes….Hey Wayhem," Greeted Rollan watching Wayhem bounce the ball.
„Have you ever played basketball in your life?" Asked Wayhem making the raven-haired boy shake his head. „We can show you a bit of it if you want,"
„Okay," Answered Rollan watching Wayhem give the ball to Kim.
„Okay like before," Kim commented running forward while bouncing with the ball on the ground, then a blonde player followed Kim and tried to block the Vietnamese. The raven-haired stopped and moved aside looking for Wayhem and threw him the ball, which the boy caught and ran to the edge, observing Kim go to the middle, followed by the other team, which blocked him by standing in front of him looking at Wayhem, which bounced with the ball and threw the ball farther, then Kim ran behind the ball, then jumped in the air to move it on the ground, then ran towards the team, then threw the ball above them to hit on the board and land in the basket.
„That's how it works!" Chanted Kim in victory, then Wayhem grabbed the ball and walked to Rollan, which clapped at Kim, which held his hand up, so Rollan would give him a high five. „Want to give it a try?"
„Si," Responded Rollan watching Wayhem give him the ball.
„Remember, you're allowed to run with the ball while dribbling as long as you want. If you stop, you have to pass it to someone else," Wayhem explained making Rollan nod, then Kim gave Rollan a thumb up and ran forward. Rollan began to bounce with the ball running to the side of the field while his opponents ran beside him and Rollan threw the ball at Kim, which threw the ball at the scoreboard, but it missed the basket and landed on the ground. The blonde opponent ran toward the pole to grab the ball and ran to the middle, then Rollan raced towards the blonde trying to take the ball away from him, while the boy kept Rollan away by pushing him on his stomach away. Rollan shove his arm, managing to take away the ball, and raced away from the boy, heading toward the basket and two lines before the end of the playfield, Rollan took a leap with the ball to throw it and as he landed down on his feet he watched the ball hit the edge of the red square on the board and get through the basket to make a point.
„Woah I wasn't expecting that," Commented Rollan, then saw Kim ran to his direction and jump at Rollan's back.
„Oh Rollan, mi mano. What a strike!" Complimented Kim fizzling with his hand on his head, making him groan.
„Epa! Was it really that good?" Asked Rollan watching Kim get down of his back.
„The way you struck was amazing," Mentioned Kim. „I think you've got the talent for this,"
„I could give it more tries," Rollan stated. „Running never was a problem for me, I just need to work out on throwing the ball. I never played with the ball like that in the past,"
„You gotta practice with us a little. If you continue being this good, you could join our team," Kim suggested. „What do you say?"
„I don't know, I need to think about it," Replied Rollan. „I have at the moment a lot going through my life right now. I think the first thing I need to do is to organize my life around all these new changes,"
„Alright, take your time," Kim responded. „If you're interested to join us playing, we're almost every day here after school. Mostly Ethan and Michael,"
„I'll see about that. You know I've got one of these Au-pair services, where I have to work in a foreign family's house. Might be difficult to pass by,"
„Sure if you can't, you can't. If you somehow still want to have a small match, we can always play during lunch break or any other one," Added Kim. „Maybe that will work out well for Michael as well,"
„Okay, also a good idea," Commented Rollan, then the blonde picked up the ball to race forward along with his teammate, then Kim ran behind him followed by Wayhem leaving Rollan back watching the match.
Gerda was putting the table along with Fabienne, which shared over the plates the napkins for the dinner.
„The best part this afternoon was, that we had singing lesson together and sang as a class together. Literature and Geography is interesting as well. It's really insane how much the world changed over the time I was gone,"
„Funny, half of the lessons you're mentioned are the ones most of the students don't like,"
„I have noticed it. I'm not fan of French, but most of the classmates don't mind it,"
„Next week you will get to know the rest of the subjects like Physics or have you already picked a language besides English?"
„Uh no, do I have to?" Asked Gerda making Fabienne shrug her shoulders.
„Usually you have to choose two languages at the beginning of the collége. Maybe you will next week or you already received a specific language in case other languages have reached the maximum candidates,"
„I only know about French and English. What are the other choices I have if I could pick?"
„There's Spanish, Russian, Mandarin and Portuguese. So far we've only got those,"
„If I can pick I would either pick Russian or Spanish," Gerda commented, then walked to the counter, where the small kitchen was to obtain the cups from the top, and returned to the table. „If we have a larger kitchen behind our kitchen, why do we have the small one?"
„You know the cooks are only here after 10 or 11 in the morning, until the 18 or 19. They only make the dinner and lunch for us, the breakfast is the only thing we do for ourselves and that's why we have a kitchen,"
„Couldn't we just use the other kitchen?"
„You know they have other types of devices to prepare our food like the steamer, where you saw Shaka taking out the gratin. They're not meant for younglings to use it,"
„Okay," Answered Gerda stopping and look at the table to check if the table was complete. „I think we've got everything,"
„Yes we do," Commented Fabienne looking at the clock. „Very well, you're now able to do it alone. It's also not such a hard task. There are worse jobs, that take a little longer,"
„I've done way more terrible jobs back in the orphanage when I was a child. Some weren't even appropriate for kids and we still had to do it,"
„But all this made you grow tougher,"
„It sort of had to do with me being the only one, not being aware of my younger brother's presence for years. Just as I found him he had the bad luck to be kidnapped and brought to the Snow Queen,"
„The Snow Queen?" Asked Fabienne. „I've heard about a story, that a girl named Gerda crossed the entire Scandinavian peninsula to look for her best friend named Kai and defeated in the end the Snow Queen,"
„Well I don't know much about how your world knows any of those stories, but this story about the Snow Queen…...I was the one, who defeated the Snow Queen. I'm that Gerda you've probably heard talking a lot,"
„Wow, you really defeated her without any powers?" Asked Fabienne curious.
„Well, I…..I had this mirror, that belonged to my father….it was magical and it was with that, that the Snow Queen lost her form and turned into the girl, that had a long time ago let her hatred and annoyment from bullies take over her and turn into what she had become. All this, because people just didn't want to accept the fact, that she was the mightiest magician on that time,"
„About this with the magicians…..are there still magicians around your time or were?"
„Uhm not that I know. I think they were all frozen just like my parents. My father I think was closer to be a potential one as well until he got frozen,"
„And what about you? Haven't you gotten powers as well?"
„Not that I know," Responded Gerda. „I never tried it out, but I think so far there's nothing yet,"
„You know, what would be cool?" Asked Fabienne making Gerda shake her head. „People here don't know magic….I mean they do, but that isn't real magic, that's just tricks they do to make it look like magic. I can show you that another time on VideoTube. What I wanted to say about the magic part is, it would be really awesome, if you were a magician, but would dress up as a superhero and help the superheroes out here in Paris,"
„Help out in what?"
„You haven't been informed about the akumas and Hawk Moth, right?"
„Uh no,"
„Okay, look…..I don't want to scare you, but…..somewhere in Paris, there's a villain called Hawk Moth. Every time in the city, when he senses someone, who's sad, angry, or any other negative mood, he sends an akuma, which takes control over your body and you're transformed into a villain. The superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir fight you and in the end, they manage to get the akuma out of you, then you're turned back to normal. Usually, you don't remember anything you've done during that time you were akumatized. Maybe before you have any idea, what made you lose your control towards the akuma,"
„Wow that sounds terrifying,"
„The good thing about it, despite this been taking longer than a year, the heroes are still able to save Paris, despite of the last three situations, where we almost lost the entire city to Hawk Moth's side,"
„I would really help them out if I could," Gerda commented.
„Maybe you're lucky one day and receive in an emergency your own miraculous to help them out,"
„Maybe, who knows," Gerda responded, then looked out of the window to see in front of the window the superheroine Ladybug pass by and caught Fabienne's attention.
„Look, look, look there she is!" Fabienne shouted opening the window to look out along with Gerda seeing the heroine land on the rooftop disappearing.
„That was fast, I barely could see her face or anything," Mentioned Gerda and Fabienne closed the window.
„You'll see her more often with the time," Mentioned Fabienne, then she picked up her smartphone to see a silent akuma alert on her smartphone stating a warning near the Louvre. „She will be at the Louvre, there's an akuma attack, just wonder who it is this time,"
„We will know it eventually in the news, right?" Asked Gerda making Fabienne nod.
„Most of the time," Added Fabienne making Gerda nod, then watched Fabienne swipe the notification away, so she would see a selfie of Fabienne with two other girls, making the blonde sigh.
„Kai….,"
Inside the castle, Hendrick had lightened up a fire at the stack and observed the two frozen humans being melted by the fire. Orm stood by the window looking at the empty kingdom, then turned his head back to the frozen statues, which had the first layer of the ice melted, but their bodies still were inside it.
„I think we should pull them closer to the fire, would that do anything?" Questioned Orm, then Hendrick looked at the burning wood, then had an idea and used his telekinesis to remove a wooden log and let it float over Kai's front very close watching it melt faster.
„Hey it's working actually," Orm stated, then moved Alfida's part of her feet near to the fire to see it beginning to melt faster as well.
Hendrick held the log as good as he could seeing Kai's head finally look out along with his arms and Orm smiled seeing Kai, then he got up and got to the coffee table, where a thermos stood and Orm opened the cover to fill it with the hot liquid, then sat down in front of Kai and held the cup in front of Kai's nose waiting until the raven-haired boy would give any sign.
„Lean the hot cup on his chin and see if he reacts to it," Mentioned Hendrick seeing Orm lean it on Kai's chin, waiting for a reaction. Orm moved the cup gently to let a drop of the drink fall on the boy's lips, making him yelp and shrieking Orm, which fell back into the fire and began to scream in pain.
„Ouch!" Orm jumped above Kai landing on the ice of Alfida, then sighed relieved as the cold turned the bit of fire his fur had caught. Hendrick looked at Kai moving his head up to notice him trying to thaw him and the boy rolled his eyes down to see the rest of the body, which wasn't thawn yet.
„Who are you?" Asked Kai, then Orm whistled to obtain Kai's attention. „Orm! What are we doing here? What happened?"
„Someone got me out of the ice a day ago and now I'm trying the same on you,"
„Who? Where's Gerda and that Spanish guy?" Questioned Kai making Orm shrug his shoulders.
„I've been wondering the same, I've searched through the entire palace for a chance to find Gerda or Rollan somehow or the wishing stone's spirits. I've only found a few trolls, King Arrog with his family, the cubs and Luta. They're just like you in a frozen state,"
„What about Alfida?" Asked Kai, then Orm passed his hand on the side of Alfida's ice sculpture.
„She's the next, don't worry," Orm commented getting down to see the ice on the feet nearly melted and Orm turned Alfida against the fire, then moved back to Kai.
„Be careful with the fire," Warned Kai and Hendrick helped Kai to sit up on his frozen back, then pulled the table closer to his back, so Kai could face the fire.
„Take the sirup there, it's good for your circulation," Said Hendrick making Kai nod and slowly take a sip from it, then yelped as he burnt his tongue on it and dropped it on his legs, accelerating his thawing progress. „It's hot, my boy," Warned Hendrick making Kai frown.
„Wow, thanks," Responded Kai sarcastically, then took the bottle again to fill his cup with water and looked at Hendrick, which dropped the log in the fire again, so he could take a little break.
„Are you a magician?" Asked Kai making the man nod. „It's been a while since I've seen a magician around here…..well long time ago,"
„A really long time ago, I agree," Commented Orm. „We have been frozen for around 120 years,"
„120 years!?" Shouted Kai shocked. „This means we're….in 2018?"
„Yeah, I think so,"
„Woah, this is insane," Commented Kai holding his hand in front of his forehead.
„If you think about the technical progress and any other thing, that has been appearing and getting modernized ever since, that's the real insane thing,"
„The what?" Asked Kai, then he noticed Alfida was almost thawn, then moved his arms expecting to get up, but fell on the ground really close to the fire. „Woah!" Cried Orm, then Hendrick shrieked and adjusted Kai back on the table letting the wood fall on Alfida's legs, which were almost thawn and Orm grabbed the wood with his bare hands and dropped it over Alfida's chest and puffed on his hands.
„Hot! Hot! Hot!" Complained Orm, then Hendrick used his telekinesis to pull the burning wood above Alfida seeing her face, which was unfrozen and the girl woke up shocked with the noises.
„What's going on?" Asked Alfida, then tried to move and notice the rest of her body from her chest to her feet were still frozen.
„Alfida!" Called Kai and Alfida looked back surprised to see the raven-haired boy, which had only his legs frozen.
„Kai! You're alright!" Commented Alfida glad, then shrieked as Orm placed his hands over her chest to cool his hands down making Alfida gasp and head bump Orm causing him to fall down.
„Hey!" Complained Alfida. „Just because I was frozen it doesn't give you the right to act naughty,"
„I just got my hands burnt. How should I have known, where I had placed them?" Argued Orm.
„Calm down you two, I'm trying to focus on helping you thaw," Hendrick mentioned watching Orm and Alfida stop bickering, then watched the senior use his telekinesis to guide the wood back into the fire and pick out another one to assist Alfida during her unfreezing.
Kai looked at his legs, which were almost free, and with his hands he removed the remaining pieces of his legs and went to Alfida to check out on her, seeing the senior do his work. Orm got up and walked across the room to look for something, then Kai placed his hand on Alfida's shoulder, then saw the girl look up at him and smile softly, then leaned her forehead on his.
„I think there's a bedroom somewhere on this floor. I will see, if there is any rug or wool blanket to give it to the two," Orm mentioned.
„Sure go ahead," Responded Hendrick. „Is anyone of you feeling besides cold anything else?" Questioned the senior making the two shake their heads. „In case you do, we better look for a doctor, so they can help you,"
„Okay," Responded Kai.
„Has anyone of you heard anything about Gerda?"
„We're not quite sure," Responded Kai.
„You two were the only ones we found in there. Your other friends either were fished out another day ago or something has happened to make your friends disappear from there,"
„From where?" Asked Alfida stern.
„The lake you two were in. The surface was frozen and something big had broken two parts of it," Explained the senior. „Someone must have found them eventually and taken them out…..well, that's an option, but what exactly was that big to take them out is the other question…..if that's the case. This could be something else, which we weren't able to figure out,"
„You know Alfida…..we've been frozen for 120 years according to Orm. He's the only one who seemed to have found us,"
„120 years?" Asked Alfida shocked. „Does this mean,...this means…...my family is…..."
„Oh crap," Groaned Kai face palming, then Orm came along with a big cover to put it behind the back of the two teens, then watched Alfida cover her face sad, then Orm looked at Kai, which sank his head. „Over those years….her family….."
„Right…."Commented Orm and placed his hands behind the two teen's back and pulled them tight to him to give them comfort.
„Henry….is there a possibility we could next night return and give it a try to the other ice statues here?" Asked Orm making the senior.
„We will need to return after 7 am back here," Noticed the magician making the troll nod,
„Sure, in the meantime we can see how Kai and Alfida are doing the past hours,"
„I still believe both seeing a doctor is the best option," Suggested Hendrick. „Just to be safe,"
„Alright, but I think when people see me there they might react differently as you did," Warned Orm making the senior nod.
„Sure, I will go with them and make sure to inform you about their health state," Promised the senior making Orm smile.
