Chapter 24
The next morning Gabriel stood at the window of his office watching the bodyguard accompany his son Adrien into the car, then noticed Adrien look back at the tall man and raise up his hand to wave. Gabriel raised up his arm to wave, then heard his smartphone ring and he took it out from his pocket to attend it.
"Good morning," Greeted Gabriel. "I hope you have seen the video I sent you,"
"Yes Mr. Agreste and from what I have seen I think there is a possibility, that you two so-called superheroes may carry inside the uhm….miraculouses a part of negativity inside them,"
"And what exactly is negative there? Will the powers drop? Get worse?"
"Well according to the book, after 24 hours both would actually turn into the Snow Queen and the Fire Demon when they don't retrieve it back. But I believe now, that since I retrieved their hearts to thunk it into the specific objects, there is still a chance that the two may experience the same faith the previous kids experienced before,"
"So this could become a hazard situation for everyone in Paris?"
"Yes, it could,"
„Okay…...but the heroes have been around for a couple of days. Nothing has happened yet,"
„We would have to take a closer look at them. By only looking at Fire King, I see how he seemed to get easily triggered by others or it seemed like he was angered easily on that video,"
"Uh hum"
„Hmm maybe if the scene would have gone differently he could have lost his control eventually,"
„It sounds like a possibility," Commented Gabriel. „If another villain enrages Fire King, he could eventually become a threat to the superheroes," Mentioned Gabriel beginning to grin at the idea he just got.
„Hopefully this won't come so far, sir. The last time the Fire Demon broke out along with the Snow Queen costed many people's lives. The best thing would be to take them back and…."
Gabriel turned the phone call off, then chuckled.
„I thought this plan was a failure, but it seems like it still was worth the try," Gabriel told himself, then he searched for the phone number of Nathalie Sancoueur and made a call.
„Nathalie, the man just called. There is a possibility, that Fire King the hero you saw on the video may be a easy prey to anger. Our new priority will be to figure out how to anger him faster and to have further akuma villains only aim at him,"
„Alright sir, copy that,"
„If I got any idea or plan, I'll let you know," Gabriel mentioned turning the phone off and looked through the window to see the doors of the entrance of the manor closer, after Adrien had left.
At the school, Juleka sat on the stairs along with her brother Luka watching Rollan, Wayhem Kim and Michael play basketball against each other. The siblings were chatting about their last evening in the cinema, where they had seen a movie.
„You don't have to worry about anything. You saw, that Rose was amused by your forehead kiss. You've got a high chance with her. You just gotta do more to get closer, than you are,"
„I will see, what I can do," Commented Juleka. „What I remembered yesterday night was, if she asks me why or how I began to like her the way I do...Like it never was like that Luka,"
„Oh right, you said it was when Miss Bustier was akumatized and Rose had been turned into a zombie to kiss you,"
„I never dared myself to ask her if she was aware of what happened. If she remembers anything about it or not. I do and….I never tried to tell her that,"
„It would be easier for you if you did ask her. But I can understand why you didn't,"
„I'm not planning to ask her right away, but I would really need to ask her that and when she responds, I try to explain to her why I remembered this,"
„Sure do that and when you're about to and need support I'm here for you," Mentioned Luka placing his hand on Juleka's shoulder, then the girl wrapped her arms around the brother to hug him.
During the basketball match Rollan jumped up in the air along with Michael, then Rollan shove the brunette aside and caught the ball, then bounced it on the ground and threw it from the side of the field against the basket hitting on the ring, then it passed above it to land inside the basket. Rollan raised his hand in victory, then Kim jumped at Rollan packing him around his head, and pecked him in the middle of his head.
„Three points! Super!," Shouted Kim making Rollan chuckle. Kim got down and gave Rollan a fist bump, then walked to the other side of the court, followed by Rollan. Someone whistled earning Rollan's attention, then two girls around his age approached him and waved.
„Hello" Greeted the two girls smiling enchanted at the sight of the Spaniard.
„Uh Hola," Greeted Rollan.
„My friend Letty here is looking for a partner for the prom night, but she's too shy to speak up," Commented the first girl.
„No, I'm not. I just didn't want to come alone," Commented the second girl, making Rollan chuckle. „Oh now you made me look like a joke to him!"
„No, no, no. I just didn't expect her to speak up right now," Rollan warned „Perdona,"
„It wasn't your fault, it was Anita's," Corrected the first brunette. „By the way, my name is Anna," Introduced the girl. „I'm not sure if you've seen us before, but we're in the class beside yours,"
„I think I did eventually," Stated Rollan, then Anna grabbed Rollan by his hand, making him drop his mouth bewildered at her act.
„You know I'm quite fond of tall, sportsmen like you," Anna began slowly moving her index finger and middle finger over his chest as she was trying to pick the boy up. „I've seen in many movies how many of you have a supportive girlfriend around important matches and my horrorscope told me I would find the one today," Commented Anna reaching Rollan's chin with her fingers, then patted him on the cheek. „And I'm sure this is the moment right now,"
„I don't find these matches to be important," Commented Rollan, then the girl placed her finger in front of Rollan's lips.
„But in the future, you'll have them for sure and until there, you've got me," The girl said with a smirk, making Rollan take one step back.
„That sounds fine, but I'm not interested in anyone yet. I'm too busy with my life right now,"
„Okay, but if you change you mind. You'll find me in class 12A," Mentioned Anna clapping Rollan softly on the cheek, then walked away with her friend, which chuckled and complimented the confidence.
„In this year girls are pretty confident," Commented Rollan looking at Kim, which grinned at Rollan's experience.
„Well, some girls you mean. Anna and Anita are pretty popular girls. They're would do anything to get what they want,"
„Oh, well then this means they're not worth my attention I see," Rollan mentioned.
„You know not all girls and boys are the same personality. She could still be a girl, that's worth your attention. Maybe she's kind, but she doesn't show it...like Chloé,"
„I don't know. For the moment I'm not interested in anyone yet or…..if I am, it's not her," Commented Rollan making Kim smile and pat the friend on the back.
„Whoever she is, you better treat her like a queen," Warned Kim. „Some girls are worth melting for," Stated Kim making Rollan smile and remember last night, where he was dancing along with Lady Frost on the frozen river.
„Kim…..This is probably not the right moment, but if you were interested in a girl and would like to get anywhere with her, what would you do?"
„When it comes to love, I'm not a great advice giver, but one thing that is always right is for you to show your real you," Warned Kim poking Rollan in the middle of his chest. „Open your heart up to show your true self,"
„Okay, something else couldn't be better,"
Gerda and Rose walked together at the entrance of the school talking with each other.
„The movie still was cute, but there was something about it that made it look cringy to me," Rose commented. „I don't know what,"
„I don't know what to tell you, I haven't seen the movie. You could talk to Juleka about it. She was there, right?"
„Yes I could," Responded Rose. „Talking about that….I'm not sure with who I should talk about her. It's nothing bad, it's just before I go up to speak to her I'd love to know if it is odd to think about the possibility, that between me and her…...if there is more than just friendship,"
„You mean that what we three once talked about after meeting André the ice maker?" Asked Gerda making the blonde girl nod.
„Yes,"
„Well…..to be honest, "Commented the Norwegian girl passing her hand behind her head. „I believe Juleka in fact has an interest in you, but she might be afraid to tell you that,"
„Could she?" Questioned Rose pondering about Gerda's words. „Yesterday, she sort of was comfortable with caressing me on my back and kissed me on my forehead. She never has done this before. I mean this with the kiss. I'm usually the one who greets her with a little peck on the cheek. Yesterday this kind of felt different,"
„Hmm maybe she's trying to hint you, that she's in love with you. I don't understand the difference between regular relationships and same-genders if I gotta be honest,"
„They're all the same. There's no difference. Juleka thinks like that as well. It only matters to us, not to the others,"
„If you two get together at some point, don't worry about me. You're my friends and I will support you,"
„Thank you, Gerda," Responded Rose giving the tall girl a hug, then the two blondes encountered the four dark-haired boys in the middle of a basketball match. „Oh look who's there," Chanted Rose showing Gerda a standing Rollan, which waited for his pass and he noticed Gerda along with Rose, then waved at the girls. Gerda waved with a smile at the raven-haired Spaniard, which got hit with the basketball on the head shrieking Gerda. Rollan scratched his head annoyed, then waved back at the girls before following the ball leaving Gerda back, which chuckled at his incident.
Kai and Alfida walked together inside a town beside a playground focusing on their weasel, which was guiding them along the place.
„I feel like we already passed here," Commented Kai from looking at the playground they were passing by. Luta stopped to look around the place, then Kai and Alfida exchanged looks wondering, if the weasel had gotten lost.
„Are you sure this is going to work out?" Questioned Alfida making Kai shrug his shoulders.
„She mainly helped us out of trouble lately," Commented Kai. „Except for those other times I was in trouble,"
„You're never going to drink liquor or alcohol after what happened back there," Commented Alfida making Kai nod.
„It was a terrible flavor anyway. But I'm still wondering, why that guy tried to poison us. We barely knew each other in the first place,"
„You're asking this the wrong person. Too bad I didn't caught him doing that or he would have been cut a head shorter," Commented Alfida, then heard a loud growl of a girl and looked around the place with Kai and encountered an inflated pirate ship with three kids playing on it.
„That looks like a pirate ship, but kids are playing on it," Commented Alfida making Kai nod.
„Must be a sort of giant toy for kids," Commented Kai, then looked around the park to see different places, where the kids could play on.
„There's a sign calling it Joé's bouncy castle's," Alfida commented, then made her way up to the inside of the park, followed by Kai and Luta.
The trio looked at the kids from afar playing on the ship, then Alfida began to chuckle as she saw one of the kids, which wore a pirate hat and a sword made of balloons threatening another kid to walk at the side of the boat. Alfida observed the kids curiously, while Kai sat down to do the same.
„You have stolen my treasure and now you're going to drown!" Shouted the girl leading the friend away from the boat, then the girl jumped down landing on the rubber cannon, which delayed the impact of her fall.
„That's not how actual pirates talk, right Alfida?" Asked Kai looking at his crush, which frowned.
„Are you telling me now, that we're supposed to talk with a lot of arrrhs?" Questioned the girl serious.
„Not all. I know some did," Commented Kai. „You or your mom spoke normal,"
„Just kidding. I just wanted to scare you,"
„Ugh Alfida!" Complained Kai making the girl laugh.
The kid on top of the ship spotted the two teens, then faked a whsitle to call their attention.
„Who are you two, land rats?" Asked the girl making Alfida grin and Kai roll his eyes around wondering, what they should answer.
„We're the rightful owners of this ship. We demand retrieval," Commented Kai walking up at the ship, then looked at Alfida.
„You're aware, the ship is fake,"
„I'm just trying to be playful with them," Commented Kai and looked up at the kids.
„You want to play?" Asked the girl, making Kai shrug his shoulders.
„Only if you want to," Responded Kai, then he got poked on his nose with the balloon sword of the kid, making him chuckle.
„You know, if we had really left Gerda for you to become a pirate I think you wouldn't be that bad," Stated Alfida.
„I could even be something else, if it would matter," Stated Kai trying to climb up the rubber ship, then the girl pushed the boy down, which landed with his back on the rubber cannon, slipping down at the grass.
„Pirate down;" Commented Kai making Alfida shake her head and race against the cannons to jump on it, to fly up at the wall of the ship, then managed to enter into it without any problem and got up on her feet.
„Alright sea rats, where's the gold?" Asked Alfida picking the second kid on the sword balloon, then accidentally cracked the ballon shrieking herself along with the girl. „Woah, what was that?"
„Oh now I need a new balloon," Commented the kid sad, making Alfida look disappointed at the accident.
„I'm sorry, I shouldn't have touched it," Apologized Alfida placing her hand on the girl's shoulder.
„Maybe André the clown can make you a new one," Suggested the third girl on the ship. „Or I borrow you mines," Said the girl making the friend smile. Alfida smiled at the kindness of the second girl, which made her think of Gerda, afterward, she heard Kai cry as he had jumped as Alfida before up on the ship and landed with his face on the inside of the ship.
„Welcome on board, land rat!" Greeted Alfida jokingly, then Kai sat up to look at the group.
„Getting like that into a pirate ship isn't real though," Commented Kai making Alfida smile, then she had an idea and tapped with her hand beside her, so the third girl would sit down.
„Did you know, that I'm a descendant of real pirates"? Asked Alfida immediately earning the attention of the kids.
„Really?" Asked the first girl.
„There were girl pirates?" Asked the second girl.
„Did you had swords?" Asked the third girl. „Or parrots?"
„Swords and guns. No, we're not that kind of pirates. We only had our team," Answered Alfida.
„Were you the only girl in the pirate group?" Asked the second girl, then Kai sat down to watch the girls gather around his crush.
„Yeah. To be honest I was. But our leader was my mother. She was one of the greatest pirates I have ever met. She knew all the tricks, any other pirate couldn't know,"
„Wow!" Gushed the kids amazed, then Alfida looked at Kai, which listened to her as well and Alfida gave the boy a self-assuring smile before she continued to tell more about her past.
