Chapter 34
Rollan sat after dinner on the table doing his homework with the twins sitting across making a puzzle together.
„Are you sure, this is the Eiffel tower?" Questioned Jake making Jett nod, which tried to fit it on their image, while Jake looked at the cover of the puzzle which showed a panorama image of the Eiffel Tower with a scenario of Cat Noir holding out a rose to the superheroine Ladybug.
„I don't remember seeing him do this to her any time I was around," Commented Rollan as Jake was looking at the image. „They have because of not knowing each other's identity nothing going on besides friendship. At least according to Cat Noir. He likes her,"
„Many people think they're together, but somehow they're not," Said Jake making Rollan nod.
„It seems so,"
„What about you and Lady Frost?" Questioned Jett. „We saw her yesterday being romantic to you,"
„Romantic?" Questioned Rollan with a chuckle. „You mean…...you saw her lean her forehead on mines?"
„Ja,"
„I'm not sure, but she felt around me quite….uhm good. I'm not sure if she has something for me or not,"
„Isn't she Gerda as a superhero?" Asked Jake making Rollan snicker.
„No. Gerda spoke today something about the superheroes, but there's no way that she and Lady Frost are the same persons. They do look quite alike though,"
„Are you sure?"
„Si," Responded Rollan confident making the boys nod.
„Okay," Responded Jake convinced, then Jett managed to find a suiting piece for the puzzle, then looked at Rollan, which switched pages to work on the last task of his homework.
„I'm almost done," Commented Rollan, then Jett looked at the image again of the superheroes and back at Rollan.
„Aren't you in love with Lady Frost?" Questioned the boy looking at Rollan, which rolled his eyes at the boy and nodded.
„I've been around here a few times and my interest in here seems to be growing. The other way around, not that I know…..I do remember us on a night dancing together out of fun and us getting along pretty well," Explained Rollan. „I'm not sure if that's just an impression of me or not, but she seems to want to run away from me when I'm attempting to get closer to her,"
„Couldn't she have a boyfriend in real life?" Questioned Jett. „Or she's in love with someone else and can't have herself fall for you?"
„I don't know," Rollan answered. „I'm not even aware of her love life as a civilian. It's…..it would kind of be odd if she had a boyfriend all along and all my effort would be…..wasted," Commented Rollan sad making Jett sink his head.
Arthur entered into the living room to see the three boys on the table, then placed his hand on Rollan's shoulder.
„Are you doing well with homework?" Questioned the blonde making Rollan nod.
„It's just this paragraph here and I'm done," Answered Rollan, then Arthur patted the boy on the head.
„I've heard something about you having a crush on someone. Are you okay?" Questioned Arthur making Rollan shrug his shoulders.
„We were thinking of a possibility of my crush having a possible love interest already. The times I tried to…..you know show her interest she would let herself go, but then she would back off again,"
„Could be an option," Answered Arthur. „Or she could be just shy about letting someone get closer to her. She could be one of these girls, which are more to fight for…..you know hard to impress I mean,"
„She has shown to be a great personality. She's almost like Gerda,"
„Oh you're not talking about Gerda?" Asked Arthur curious making Rollan tilt his head. „My bad,"
„Gerda and I are friends for now…...I admit she is a cool girl, I'm just…..I don't know. There's this other girl I like and I can't just go behind Gerda or anyone else if I'm already in love with the first girl,"
„Okay," Commented Arthur pulling the chair out to sit down on it. „You know...Love is unpredictable. You may have a person in your life you'll meet one day, you'll love her at the first sight or she'll become your worst enemy, who knows. A certain amount of time will pass by and whether you expect it or not, you have fallen for her. It may have come out of nowhere you think, but like rain, love can be predicted a little by paying attention to certain signs. Whether it's the atmosphere or the location," Spoke Arthur making Rollan think about his words, then suddenly remember the night he had accompanied Gerda back home.
„Buenas noches," Wished Gerda while embracing the Spaniard and slowly took them off to be able to look at the friend.
"Buenas noches," Replied Rollan making Gerda smile and walk at the door to unlock it up with her key. Gerda turned her head around to see Rollan wait for her to enter while having a small smile plastered on his face. Gerda smiled brighter, then departed from the door to hug the raven-haired boy again. "Oy Gerda!"
"Buenas noches, Rollan," Wished Gerda again, making Rollan chuckle and place his hands around Gerda's back.
"Buenas noches," Rollan repeated, then Gerda moved her head up and pressed her lips on Rollan's cheek to give him a peck, surprising him at the unexpected deed of the girl. Gerda returned to the door, followed by Rollan placing his hand on his cheek. "Porque fue eso?" Mumbled Rollan, making Gerda chuckle, understanding half of the sentence.
"Hasta mañana" Said Gerda entering into the building, leaving a dumbfounded Rollan back.
Rollan passed his hand on his cheek, then looked further at the boys, which were putting on the finished corner another puzzle part.
„Could this be?" Whispered Rollan. „I…...I think someone has been showing me interest and I wasn't even paying attention to it,"
„Welcome to our world, Rollan. It took me also a little while to figure out Georgette loved me," Joked Arthur patting Rollan on the shoulder. „Look I won't bother you more, it's almost bedtime and you need to finish your homework. If you'd like tomorrow we can talk together about it again, if you want," Offered the Swedish man making Rollan nod.
„Sure," Responded Rollan, then before Arthur got up the Spaniard remembered something and got up as well. „Oh there is something I'd like to ask,"
„Sure, go on,"
„Uh at the school this Saturday, there will be a prom night. I've got an image of it, if you want to see it," Rollan said showing to the man the poster on his email. „What sort of clothes do I need to wear to go there?"
„It's up to you. You're expected to get there all cleaned up and dressed a little more chic. When I'm back to work I can show you something from me and if necessary we can buy you a little something,"
„Thank you," Responded Rollan making the man smile, which left the living room, then Rollan looked at the boys which were figuring out the next puzzle piece. Rollan placed back his chair, then whistled to call the boy's attention.
„Niños, What about I read you from your book again?" Asked Rollan watching the boys look at each other, then race out from their chairs at Rollan to hug him. „Oy!" Complained Rollan, then watched the two shove their face on his stomach and Rollan placed his hands behind their backs. „Okay, vamos. I'll come and continue to read you a little from that book," Announced Rollan accompanying the twins to their room, then they ran directly to their bed and Rollan picked up their book to sit down in front of Jett's bed.
„Okay, where were we?" Asked Rollan opening the book at a marked page, then glanced at the two boys, which were waiting for him to read.
„Princess Lana, farmer Han and the dog Din had walked over the rock of the troll tongue, then gazed all together at the end of the place, where a castle was located.
„This is where my future husband lives?" Asked Princess Lana making the farmer nod.
„Pretty strange location, when you see it from this side, but at the other end it's actually bigger and safer if this should make you feel better," Explained Han making the princess nod.
„This is going to take about two hours to get down there. It's almost getting dark, we might not make it in time," Commented the dog, looking up at the two adults.
„Well, Din has a point. It's up to you, my princess," Han stated making Lana nod.
„I wouldn't mind overnighting here," Said Lana looking across the kingdom. „I bet having a picnic from here must be amazing,"
„It sure is," Added Din while using his hind leg to scratch himself behind his ear, then look up at the Princess opening up the bag of farmer Han, which also glimpsed into it to take out a few corn cubs he plucked on their way.
„How again did you make fire with those stones you've got in your bag?" Questioned the princess, then he began to show her how he handles them and handed them over to the woman, which gave it a try. Din tilted his head curious at seeing the two bound with another and sank his head down, beginning to have a bad feeling for he was seeing,"
Several minutes later Rollan was still reading the book and the boys had their eyes closed for sleep. Rollan let out a yawn but focused on reading out at the two boys.
„Farewell Princess," Wished Din bowing down in a dog-like manner, then rolled his eyes up at the farmer, which watched Princess Lana on top of the horse of her future loved one adjust the saddle of the horse to make sure it was fine for her. The Princess glimpsed down at the farmer, which had faked a smile at the woman making her sure, everything was alright. Although he managed to convince the Princess he was fine, he wasn't. It may have sounded ridiculous to anyone around him, but he really was bewitched by the woman in more than one way. Who would have thought he could ever feel this way for someone of another social class? The riders moved on with the Princess, which waved goodbye at the duo and Din replied by waving with his left paw as well, then rolled his eyes up at farmer Han, which turned his back at the dog.
„Where are you going, Han?" Asked Din following the farmer.
„Home," Responded Han neutral. „That's what the deal was all about, remember?"
„I do, I do, just….by looking at you, I can see you're not okay. Not only that, I'm a dog. I can sense people's feelings. I know, that you've got a soft spot for this lady over there,"
„I do…..you're right Din. I really do love her, but…...you know…..she's a Princess and what am I?"
„You're a farmer. I got that, but…...why would you let her go instead of at least give it a try to show her, what you mean to her?"
„Things aren't as easy as it sounds Din. Princesses are meant to marry Princes, Lords, richer people you know. Not some ol' boring farmer,"
„You're not boring. At least I didn't think you two were bored of each other,"
„I'm thankful for your comforting words, but this is something we can't change. I have to accept it, end of the story," Commented farmer Han watching Lana along with the Lord riding on their horses side by side, then the woman began to laugh making farmer Han drop his chin hurt and sink his head down, which Din saw and he sank down his head along with his tail.
„I'm sorry you have to pass through this," Whispered Din watching Han walk away and look back one last time to see her smiling at the Lord. Han looked down at Din, which had his ears down and got patted by the adult.
„You know…...my grandparents used to have many sayings about life, love and much more. Now I remembered one, my grandpa used to say to me…..if you really love someone. You have to let it go," Mentioned Han making Din slowly tilt his head. „Years later I finally understood it and even if I did this, it hurts…..."
Rollan stopped reading the paragraph of his book to look at the boys, which were now sleeping and he placed the book with the open pages against the surface of the night table.
„Ouch, this is the first time I get hurt by a book," Commented Rollan, then he heard Coal cross their bedroom to approach the teenage boy.
„Big boy, you know books and real life aren't the same. They do have a lot of common situations, which are familiar to us,"
„Coal one question…..let's assume, I talk to Lady Frost and tell her, how I feel, then she ends up rejecting me, because she may love someone else. I just have to let her live on her own and forget about everything that happened between us before?"
„Well…...you don't have to necessarily give up your friendship with her or not get along with her, but yeah. I understand you want more than just friendship with her, but the best thing is to just accept it and move on,"
„Well…..if she really would have someone in her life she would have rejected me before, wouldn't she?" Asked Rollan making Coal shrug his shoulders.
„I don't know. Was she even aware of your attempts?"
„Well….I don't know…..I'm not sure if I was clear at all," Noticed Rollan. „What do you think?"
„I don't know, what I should say to you. Maybe you can make it clearer to her, that you like her?" Questioned Coal. „Or straight off tell you love her like Mr. Hemming said,"
„You think it will be good?"
„How are we gonna know the answer without asking?" The spirit spoke watching Rollan ponder about it and smile.
„I think I have an idea!" Announced Rollan grabbing the spirit with his hands, then groaned as he burnt himself on the spirit, which chuckled. „You're….grr!" Growled Rollan making the spirit laugh.
„Be quiet, before you wake up the others,"
„They're awake or not asleep yet. I wait a little while before we take off," Suggested Rollan. „The best thing is going now from my room as long as the balcony is closed for construcción"
„Right," Agreed Coal watching Rollan turn off the light to leave the twins' bedroom.
Rena Rouge and Cat Noir sat together at the front of the Trocadero chatting together about what happened last day.
„How is Ladybug doing?" Questioned Cat Noir earning a thumb up from the superheroine. „How come you in a situation like this know everything about her and I'm the last one, almost?"
„You're not the last one. I understand you might feel hurt when she entrusts me certain things first and not you. We know each other very long and after all this with Shadow Moth started, she was beginning to lose her mind and…..told me what exactly was going on and I understood it,"
„She…..told you her secret identity, didn't she?" Asked Cat Noir making Rena Rouge nod.
„You know. Sometimes we swallow certain things a lot and a lot, until one day we're full and we have to explode. M…..Ladybug had reached that moment and talking to you didn't help her either so I was her last option. I even made it clear for her, she could trust me no matter how terrible the secret was,"
„And she's now better? I mean before the akumatization of herself happened I mean,"
„So far it did work out to be honest," Commented Rena Rouge. „Maybe we acted sometimes around you not well and made you feel like you're not worth anything, but you are. You have protected Ladybug amount of times in order to let her catch the akumas to purify them. You were her emotional support when things seemed to be failing. You've done more things, you don't recall, because of the present us. You two probably haven't even had the time to thank each other or anything for everything you've done for each other. I'm certain Ladybug is very grateful for everything you've done. She might not have told you that a lot of times, but she is and you saw her yesterday, after what happened to her,"
„Yeah….I'm glad this is over," Confessed Cat Noir making Rena Rouge nod. „I couldn't bear seeing her face if we had failed. If I would ever see her again," Stated Cat Noir sinking down her ears.
„Don't worry kitty. She wouldn't be angry," Assured the fox-themed heroine patting the boy on his back. „I promise,"
„Thanks…..uhm about Ladybug. Have you heard anything about her miraculous?"
„Not yet. She would get to see that one guardian, that was supposed to teach Master Fu in the past. Maybe they're still working on it,"
„Okay,"
„What about Fire King? Anything new?"
„Haven't seen him yet. Is his miraculous still glitching?"
„I don't know. I was curious to see if you knew anything," Answered Cat Noir, then spotted coming from the corner of a building Lady Frost surfing on top of her path, she created by herself. „Now that I see Lady Frost, you had to see her during our fight with Miss Fortune. She even created a cannon to hit her with icicles. You had to see it, it was amazing,"
„Cool," Agreed Rena Rouge watching the superheroine head to the Eiffel tower.
Lady Frost arrived at the Eiffel Tower, then watched down several people hanging out with each other making the heroine smile.
„Everyone's so entertained," Spoke Lady Frost leaning her arms on the bridge to look up at the tower. Lady Frost squinted her eyes to spot people at the restaurant having dinner, the remembered Rose speaking about the number of reservations, that were always booked up at that restaurant.
„All the people there must have an amazing evening," Said the silver-blonde girl and sighed amusedly.
Someone whistled, then Lady Frost saw Fire King appear with a small basket in his hand.
„King!" Greeted Lady Frost, then watched the boy place the basket on top of the wall.
„It's been a while, we haven't seen each other," Mentioned Fire King making Lady Frost nod.
„24 hours more or less. That's not as much, to be honest," Commented Lady Frost watching Fire King shrug his shoulders. „What had happened to you the other day we were fighting against Nostalgica?"
„I don't know, everything is fine now," Responded Fire King, then grabbed the basket. „Hey I know you probably had dinner before and so had I…..what would you say, if we shared with each other cupcakes?" Offered Fire King opening the basket to show her a package with six different sorts.
„That's sweet King and…..are you thinking about making out of it a picnic?" Questioned the blonde making the hero nod.
„Si, I thought it would be good," Responded Fire King. „We could…..talk with each other while eating. I don't know,"
„Okay and where exactly did you plan to go?" Questioned the girl, making Fire King look around to look for a specific spot for the two.
„It's kind of difficult. There are so many people around the area," Commented Fire King, then got up on the wall to look down at the large surface under the bridge, which had a few meters further a large bistro over the Seine, which was occupied with several people. „I don't know, we could sit there on the ground near the water and well eat there,"
„Is an idea, but I won't put my feet inside the water," Commented Fire King making Lady Frost chuckle.
„Why does water cause you pain?" Asked Lady Frost curious making Fire King shrug his shoulders.
„Because water kills fire?" Questioned Fire King.
„I know, but I never got myself burnt…...oh wait I did once on your arms," Mentioned Lady Frost, then Fire King placed his hand behind his neck a little embarrassed.
„Oh I remember that. I'm sorry," Apologized Fire King. „Also for getting into your mini-vehicle," Mentioned the boy making the girl snicker and the two stopped, then sat down on the stairs, which led to the river.
„I think here is alright," Commented Lady Frost watching Fire King place the basket down on the ground and sit beside it along with the girl. He opened the basket, then took out the packed pastries and removed the plastic, then gently lifted up the plate with the sweets.
„Pick one," Offered Fire King seeing Lady Frost accept one with a smile and take a bite of it.
The redhead took one out as well, then licked the glaze off it, thereafter turned his head down at Lady Frost, which was enjoying the cupcake she had chosen.
„You like it?" Asked Fire King making the heroine nod. „That's great. You know in my civilian life I'm only a student and only receive at the home a small allowance, so I can buy myself food,"
„You're not the only one King,"
„I'd love to be able to give you more, but I probably would need to save up more money,"
„Why? You don't have to. This here was already very sweet from your side," Commented Lady Frost placing her hand on Fire King's arm. „You have been very hostile to me the last few times. I'm glad enough, that we both get along and can work together,"
„You're right, Lady Frost and I…..have to be honest. I'm also happy that we both get along pretty good," Agreed Fire King shoving the rest of his cupcake into the mouth. Lady Frost chuckled, then looked at a ship, that passed by carrying people dining and she sighed amazed by it.
„I'm slowly beginning to understand why Paris is called the city of love…." Lady Frost spoke, then watched Fire King sneeze and light up the fire on his head, which made the girl giggle. Fire King noticed his hair was on fire, then he mirrored her reply as well. Fire King looked down at Lady Frost wiping off the crumbles on her coat, then Fire King placed his hands on the basket. „Can I…..speak to you?"
„Sure….Aren't we speaking actually?" Asked Lady Frost watching the friend scratch the back of his neck.
„Yes, we are. I'm just….I'm thinking about something. I've been…..looking at you with other eyes for a little while. I got to know you as one kind and friendly girl….You're also brave and kind and uh….."Fire King got unsure about the word choices, then noticed Lady Frost tilt her head at his sudden behavior.
„King, are you alright?" Asked Lady Frost placing her hand on his cheek, so he would look at her. „Why are you stammering?"
„Lady Frost…I think I'm in love with you," Revealed Fire King making Lady Frost tilt her head in surprise.
„You do or you think?" Questioned the girl confused.
„Erm I do," Responded Fire King a little unsure. „I'm just….burning hot,"
Lady Frost chuckled a little, then shove the basket away and approached the boy.
„That's really adorable King, but are you sure you're speaking things right?" Questioned the girl. „I feel like you're not 100% honest with yourself,"
„I am honest! I am. I just…..I don't know. I feel like it didn't go the way I had thought it would. I feel like I wasn't really open," Complained Fire King.
„Maybe you're not in love with me, maybe you're….I don't know, enchanted by me in a way,"
„That….that makes…..I'm confused...But I felt so warm when I'm with you. We got along with each other since the first day we met. I…..I'm feverishly excited every time I know I'm going to see you….I,"
Lady Frost noticed Fire King was starting to feel bad about his confession, thereafter she placed her hands on his shoulder and placed her index finger on his lips.
„King, listen…...I know, what you're trying to say to me, and as much as it sores me to say it. I…...can't reciprocate it back to you," Commented Lady Frost watching Fire King's eyes widened.
„I want you to listen carefully to me, King, okay," Questioned Lady Frost making the friend nod. „You're a really great friend to me. I appreciate your worry and helpfulness, whenever I was with you. Your feelings may be sincere as you tried to show me them, but I can't at the moment begin anything with you. Not because you're nervous to confess yourself to someone, more I'm not sure if we're meant to be more than friends at this moment. I see you more as a friend and you know we're both superheroes and have our private, civilian life," The silver-blonde spoke making Fire King nod and sink down his head. „I….eventually I should tell you this as well. I don't want to make you any hopes or empty promises, but I have friends in real life and there's someone I'm in love with…..I'm building up myself up to get closer to him and obtain his interest in me. I'm getting closer to my goal and I can't just give it up now,"
„You…..so you actually have a boyfriend?" Questioned Fire King quiet making Lady Frost shake her head.
„I'm not that farther yet, but I know it's just a matter of time until between us there will be more than just friendship. I already perked him up by making him notice I was interested in him,"
„That's kinda cool. I have never seen girls or women making a step at a guy before,"
„Yeah, you're right. I think people see this more as a man thing. Asking the girl out, proposing to her, and so on. But there's also the opposite, right?" Asked Lady Frost making Fire King nod and put his head down.
„I'm sorry I wasted your time, Lady Frost," Apologized Fire King getting up, then Lady Frost grabbed his hand. „King, I know this is all now hard for you to take it, but this doesn't mean this is our end. We're still friends. There's no need to give this up just because of this,"
„I know that it's just….you know…..I gotta accept it,"
„Yeah well…..King, don't you worry. You're a great guy. The perfect girl for you is out there somewhere waiting for her prince" Commented the girl jokingly, making Fire King chuckle softly. „Promise me, you'll find her,"
„Si," Answered Fire King sad, then Lady Frost took down her arms to look at Fire King, which glanced neutral at the girl, then she clapped him gently on the cheek.
„I'm sorry I had to do this, King," Apologized the superheroine, then the redhead rolled his eyes at her and faked a small cough.
„How does the boy you love look like?" Questioned Fire King making the girl snort.
„King, come on. This won't make it better for you, trust me," Spoke Lady Frost, then Fire King nodded and walked further at the stairs, that led to the bridge leaving Lady Frost back, which observed him with a neutral face.
„I really hope this wasn't such a bad idea," Commented Lady Frost worried about the output of their scene.
Rena Rouge lied on the ground playing with her staff, while Cat Noir watched on the streets the vehicles traveling in their directions.
„You know I just remembered something. It was an accident, I wasn't expecting that to happen, but I saw Fire King's alter ego on the day his miraculous went nuts,"
„And?" Spoke Rena Rouge looking at the cat miraculous holder.„Is it someone you know?"
„In a way, yes," Responded Cat Noir. „I don't know many details about him except his first name,"
„Does he know you in real life?"
„As a superhero not, but he knows I exist," commented Cat Noir. „I offered him once help for something, but he didn't need it,"
„Okay," Commented Rena Rouge looking down at the pont d'Lena, where he saw Fire King walk with his head down, then she sat up to observe him. „Hey isn't that Fire King?" Asked Rena Rouge as Cat Noir got up to look at the bridge to recognize the friend.
„Yes," Responded Cat Noir standing up, then looked down at Rena Rouge. „He doesn't seem to be in a decent mood or is it my impression?" Commented Rena Rouge, then Cat Noir jumped down with his staff catapulting himself over the stairs, then ran across the garden to the bridge to meet up with the superhero, which continued his way over the road, then Cat Noir stopped and tagged along the friend.
„Hey buddy, what's with your face?" Questioned the blonde, then Fire King leaned his back on a light pole.
„I opened up my heart to Lady Frost," Responded Fire King making Cat Noir sink his ears knowing where the conversation was about to go.
„And she didn't reciprocate it, right?" Asked the blonde making the friend nod.
„She is in love with someone in real life and apparently, she's been making herself notable to him," Commented Fire King. „She made it clear, that….it's not worth waiting for her in any way. Sort of this,"
„Welcome to my world," Spoke Cat Noir putting his hand on Fire King's shoulder. „I'm not sure how I should help you besides telling you, that at least you have her as a friend. If one day she'll need to cry on your shoulder, you'll be there for her, that's at least one good aspect…...okay, that's kind of rough,"
„Why would she cry on my shoulder?" Questioned Fire King raising his left eyebrow up.
„Never mind. I meant to say something else,"
„What exactly?"
„Having her as a friend is good as well. Better than nothing, trust me," Commented Cat Noir making Fire King sight.
„I still don't feel better, if you want me to be honest,"
„I can't help you out in any other way. We're both doomed with this superhero secrecy thing between us all. You can't know Ladybug's identity, Lady Frost can't know ours, we can't theirs, and so on. I can understand your frustration,"
„We can't?" Questioned Fire King confused. „But why do you know mines?"
„It's not my fault your miraculous had issues on our last fight. It was bad luck and I ended up seeing your civilian identity,"
„Huh, maybe if Lady Frost was the one finding it out, it would have been better or I don't know….she told my civilian self once I'd be a good fit in our team,"
„You met her as your civilian self?" Asked Cat Noir curious making Fire King nod.
„I stood on the balcony and she landed there wondering, what was up. Later on, we were attacked by Miss Fortune and she was grateful for me unnecessary risking my life to help her dodge one of Miss Fortune's objects,"
„That could have ended badly, though,"
„I know, I didn't mean to, I just reacted, I don't know," Responded Fire King. „Afterward, she questioned me to lead my family and the others down to the basement, then leaned her forehead on mine….and this kind of felt good,"
„Kind of funny. I had this moment in the past, where I believed Ladybug had a crush on my alter ego...technically there is a possibility. A lot of girls have a crush on me, but that's another story,"
„I don't know, but once in a while at the school, I had one girl or another come to me because I was handsome to them and the funny fact I barely know them,"

„Yeah," Commented Fire King, then looked across the place to see far away on the other side of the Seine Lady Frost sit on the basket create with her hands an ice block in front of her face. „How did you believe, that Ladybug could have a crush on you?"
Hmm….on our last meeting, she spoke very sweetly with me and seemed very fixed on me, somehow," Commented Cat Noir. „Did Lady Frost treat you similar?"
„She was friendly to me and this might sound weird to you, but I felt like on the last attack she had found in me a place to hide from the supervillain, even though she has no idea, that I'm Fire King and or would eventually do anything to help her,"
„Hmm that sounds funny. Maybe she is crushing on you?"
„Maybe she's one of those girls, that likes my civilian side and…..maybe….maybe that guy she likes could be me in a way and…..and she has no clue!"
„That sounds like a funny story, but maybe this isn't true," Commented Cat Noir, then Fire King rubbed his hands together and grunted to light up his hair on fire making Cat Noir tilt his head at his command. „For what was that?"
„I have an idea!" Announced Fire King making Cat Noir chuckle.
„Oh that's why your hair started fire," Commented the blonde amused by the deed of the redhead. „What's the idea?"
„I will meet her and show her who I really am," Fire King responded confidently, making Cat Noir drop his mouth in shock.
„But that's not what our team's deal was. We have to keep our identity a secret, no matter what," Commented Cat Noir watching Fire King about to cross the road, then he pursued the older hero. „Ladybug isn't going to like that,"
„Why could she tell your friend there her secret identity? Or why do you know my secret identity? You see nothing has happened yet to us,"
„I know that, but those two things are exceptions. I admit I didn't like it, but I have to accept it. Our friendship slowly improved again after a little talk I had with Rena. I know it would do it for you too if you would talk to me or another friend,"
„I have a good feeling about this, Cat Noir. Just give me a chance and I show it," Commented Fire King, then he departed leaving Cat Noir back, which called for the superhero.
„Come back here!" Shouted Cat Noir, then Rena Rouge, which had been standing at the fountain with a few citizens approached the cat-themed superhero to see what's up.
„What happened?" Asked Rena Rouge and Cat Noir looked at the superheroine in shock.
„Fire King is going to look for Lady Frost. He thinks if he reveals his identity for her she might like him back or…...even worse!"
„And where is she?" Asked Rena Rouge, then Cat Noir pointed at the two superheroes, which were far away from each other.
„He can't just go out there, tell her his secret identity and think this will solve his problem. It could create a bigger one, "Commented the black-dressed superhero, seeing Fire King getting stopped by a person, that sat inside the car and left to shake the boy's hand.
„Alright, leave it to me. I might have an idea to fix this," Rena commented picking up her flute, then ran at the wall.
Rena Rouge jumped over the bridge, then landed on the pole in the middle of the river, then began to play on her flute and made on the stairs leading up to the crossroad at the Eiffel Tower an illusion of Lady Frost walking forward and the second part of the illusion was the boy Nathaniel Kurtzberg approaching the heroine, which opened up her arms so he could run into them for a hug.
Rena Rouge glimpsed at the road to see the illusion, then spotted Fire King head to the end of the bridge but stopped as he encountered Nathaniel and Lady Frost.
Fire King saw Lady Frost caress Nathaniel on his cheek, then led her forehead on his to mumble something making the civilian smile.
Fire King dropped his chin in shock as he saw the silver-blonde girl show affection for a younger student afterwards he sat down on the wall of the bridge feeling sad.
"Eres un tonto. Como estaba pensando que esto habria funcionando ?" Questioned the redhead himself and saw the two close their eyes and lean in for a kiss, which Fire King didn't want to see, then he departed to the direction he had come, running towards Cat Noir who had seen it all.
Cat Noir lifted up his arm to stop the friend, which lied his head on Cat Noir's shoulder.
"Hey, hey put your head up. I know it's not quite a good feeling but make sure to not be an easy catch for Hawk Moth," Warned the blonde placing his hand on the head, then yelped as he burnt himse!f on the hair.
„That's all not right!" Complained Fire King, then Cat Noir watched the illusions disappear in the air, then Rena Rouge reappeared from her hideout to look at the blonde, which was looking at her a little sad.
„Fire King….I know Cat Noir tried to talk with you. Will you give me a try?" Questioned Rena Rouge placing her hand on the arm of the superhero, then walked with him at the bridge and leaned against the wall.
„Fire King, look I know how much it hurts to not tell anyone about your secret identity, but trust me telling her your real you can't make things work out between you. Even if you were the person she's in love with,"
„How so?" Questioned Fire King sad. „Because we only knew each other as heroes?"
„One example," Commented Rena Rouge. „Also you're not even aware, who exactly is behind Lady Frost's mask. Or if you're going to love her for that person as well. Ladybug and her real self aren't the same person as well. Only I as her best friend know that. Anyone else of you only saw Ladybug's side and just that. You saw Lady Frost's hero side as well and so did she you, me or you us,"
„Aren't we supposed to be the same as our civilian self?" Questioned Fire King making Rena Rouge nod.
„We are the same. We just haven't had the time to fully know each other well rather, than during the missions,"
„Not even through trainings?" Questioned Fire King. „I…..I thought I had to know her more during the training,"
„Maybe not enough details," Commented Rena Rouge. „You know we're not allowed to give precise details about our private life, that's why you eventually didn't know before about her love life,"
„I think this happened recently to her. I just assumed she was shy or embarrassed at my moves….when I…..told her how I feel about her, I feel like I wasn't quite honest about it. Or for her, it sounded like I wasn't been sincere,"
„Maybe she assumed your only interested in her looks or…..I don't know, because she's a heroine?" Commented Cat Noir, then Rena Rouge glanced at him as he interrupted the two. „Just saying, this is how I felt the first months,"
„Well…..to be honest…..I don't even know exactly, what makes me like Lady Frost if I had to tell her that to face. I couldn't even tell her correctly how I felt for her," Mentioned Fire King looking at a sad Rena Rouge. „If you two don't mind. I'll be going back home and sleep for the rest of the night. The next time I see Lady Frost again I'll apologize and thank her for still being a friend," Fire King commented walking along the street, followed by the two superheroes observing their friend leave.
„I'm still wondering if what we did was a good idea," Commented Cat Noir making Rena Rouge shake her head.
„To be honest it was a little too much, but that will do," Commented Rena. „I had additionally planned to have her turn into a random citizen, but I felt like it would be too much or even dangerous,"
„Are you gonna tell Ladybug about what happened?"
„I'll wait for a little while," Answered Rena Rouge watching with Cat Noir the friend look at vehicles passing at the crossroad, then Fire King jumped at the side of a food transporter to take a short cut.
