Chapter 42
Back on Monday, Luka Couffaine stood on the outside of the school near the street looking at his smartphone to see the posts on his profile, that friends of him had shared. A car honked, then Luka saw an SUV approach, where on the co-driver seat sat Rollan and got out of the vehicle.
„Bye!" Said Rollan closing the door, then saw Luka there putting his phone back and hold up his hand at the friend.
„Welcome back," Greeted Luka earning a handshake from the friend. „Are you alright?"
„I'm fine," Answered Rollan neutrally, then Luka placed his hand on the boy's shoulder.
„You know I'm Viperion, right? I saw what was up with you," Mentioned Luka making Rollan nod.
„I didn't mean to do that. I don't even remember how it happened or how I let it go that far,"
„It's alright. Most important is that you're alright," Commented Luka. „Have you been able to talk with someone about what happened?"
„Gerda and Mr. Hemming mostly. I'm still ashamed of it,"
„There's no way back Rollan. The best thing you can do is to move on with your life. If this issue keeps bothering you talk with someone about it or seek help of one of the superheroes like Ladybug or Lady Frost,"
„I will see how I will feel through the rest of the day," Mentioned Rollan, then watched beside Luka on the sidewalk Gerda come along with Fabienne and Carmen, then he moved his hand up to greet the trio. Luka glimpsed to recognize the trio, then smiled at Rollan.
„I saw you did well last Saturday," Mentioned Luka making Rollan nod, then Gerda stopped by the duo, while the ladies moved on.
„Morning guys," Greeted Gerda, then she grabbed Rollan by his hand. „How are you feeling?"
„A little better," Answered the Spaniard. „I have to try to get over it. Luka offered me help as well,"
„See? You've got a few friends that will help you go through this. There's no need to be afraid of it," Commented Gerda making Rollan smile and press his hand around hers tightly. Gerda leaned her face on Rollan's shoulder to look up at him afterward she heard someone squeal and Rollan looked back to see Rose Lavillant race towards the two.
„Uh where is she going?" Asked Rollan, then Rose leaped against Gerda's back.
„Didn't I tell ya?" Asked Rose embracing her friend from behind making Rollan chuckle unaware of what was going on, then Rose looked at Rollan which showed his teeth at the girl. „Isn't she sweet?" Questioned Rose looking at Rollan, which rolled his eyes amused by the younger girl.
„Encantadora,"
„That's the most romantic thing I have ever heard," Gushed Rose wrapping her arms around Gerda's neck.
„It's just a compliment, Rose," The Norwegian said with a chuckle, then helped Rose down along with Rollan.
„I knew you two would come closer to each other. I could feel it right here," Stated Rose holding her hand in front of her chest, where her heart was making Rollan grin embarrassed.
„Uh that's great," Answered Rollan unsure, then looked at Gerda, which shrugged her shoulders.
„Rose adores to help in any sort of way," Explained Gerda making Rollan nod.
„Okay, that's kind of cute," Commented Rollan, then Rose glanced back at Gerda.
„Will you come in or stay here with Rollan?" Questioned Rose, then Gerda looked up at Rollan, which shrugged his shoulders.
„I come afterward," Answered Gerda making Rose nod, then moved on.
„Rose is one of the most energetic and happiest girls I have ever seen in my life. Doesn't it sound a little irritating at some point?"
„It's just the way she is. There was one day or another one, where I felt like it was too much, but deep down inside her she's got a great heart for everyone,"
„Just like you do," Added Rollan making Gerda nod, then Rollan caressed his own neck before questioning Gerda. „How is your brother doing and Alfida? Did they get their own place in the youth home?"
„They're sharing a room with someone else. Alfida couldn't come into my room as we questioned on the first day. They need a few more things to have to take care of as we did at the beginning here and may attend our school as well,"
„Cool," Commented Rollan, then Luka's phone rang, which attended it and gave Rollan a sign, that he would leave and Rollan raised his hand. „Bye," Said Rollan, then Gerda remembered her chat with Kai and grabbed Rollan's hand, surprising him watching her take it down.
„Can I talk to you about something?" Asked Gerda making Rolla nod.
„Go on,"
„You know, yesterday Kai spoke to me about us two back in our old time,"
„Really? What did he say?"
„He assumed you had lied to me about the wishing stone being something more than what the name says,"
„You mean…..before we left to the troll kingdom to see the tomb?" Questioned Rollan making Gerda nod. Rollan sighed looking down at the ground, then looked up at Gerda. „I'm sorry I lied to you," Apologized Rollan making Gerda wide her eyes at how quick he answered.
„That went fast," Commented Gerda watching Rollan look down at the ground feeling ashamed about the lie he told a long while ago.
„And can I know why?" Questioned Gerda placing her hand on Rollan's arm, then he moved his head up slow at the friend.
„It was selfish from me. It was for a silly reason. I….I knew that the wishing stone would grant superpowers and…..I wanted to have them because I wanted to be special. A someone. When I told you I wanted to look for the wishing stone because of my mama I only said that cause I knew if I would say something like this I would get you to help me out,"
„And you had success…..," Commented Gerda watching Rollan frown angry.
„Yo soy un idiota" Complained Rollan and Gerda grabbed him in his hand.
„Rollan, just continue talking. I know this isn't easy for you, I won't judge you by the mistakes you did in the past. You know that,"
„Look Gerda…..I….the day I did that was, because for starters I didn't really have in mind in having anything else to do with you, than having your help to go there,"
„And you didn't regret it?" Questioned Gerda making Rollan shake his head.
„Well, I didn't remember that I had lied to you back there. To be honest, what led us to the place we are today happened mainly because of me, if I didn't convince you to come along with me we wouldn't have got here,"
„According to Kai, we both were possessed by the Snow Queen and the Fire Demon and up to destroy the troll kingdom. The exact same thing that happened to you yesterday. The reason why we couldn't remember was that we were frozen and how we landed there as well. All just because we disturbed them,"
„So it's all my fault?" Asked Rollan. „Just because of my selfishness to obtain powers I doomed us,"
„You…." Began Gerda, then stopped thinking about what he just stated was true. „Okay, you're correct about that. But none of us saw this coming. There's still a lot of good things here for us. We've found new friends, we have it slightly easier in our lives, than it used to be before,"
„Si, but…...I'm responsible for it,"
„You're right, but stop blaming yourself for it. Where there's a closed door another one will open up for us and that's what happened," Stated Gerda placing her hand on Rollan's shoulder.
„And you will just forgive me for all that?"
„If you thought I would after all these days trying to get to you just give up you're wrong. We're both humans and we will always make mistakes. As long as we both are able to work on it together it will be good,"
„Te lo pagaré, I promise," The raven-haired said, then Gerda smiled and pecked him on his cupid's boy making him wide his eyes at her deed.
„Not necessary. I just want you to know, that you can count on me about everything,"
„Gracias," Thanked Rollan embracing the girl, which leaned on the friend's shoulder.
On the road stopped the car of the Agreste's for the teeny model Adrien Agreste to leave. Rollan widened his eyes as he recognized the vehicle, then murmured at Gerda's ear, which looked at the car and back at Rollan.
„Are you sure?" Asked Gerda, then saw Adrien close the door after getting out, then waved at the girl.
„Hey you two," Greeted Adrien, then heard the front window of the driver side open up and Gabriel Agreste looked out making Adrien look neutral.
„Hey I remember you two," Spoke Gabriel getting Rollan and Gerda's attention. „How are you doing?" Questioned the adult, then Rollan rolled his eyes at Gerda, which nodded.
„We're fine," Responded Gerda. „You're the one, that saved us from the ice I heard,"
„It was thanks to my assistant that we found you. We weren't having high hopes that you two would make it, but it was a miracle,"
„Well thank you for giving us a chance to live again," Answered Gerda, while Rollan looked at the windshield, which was still damaged. Gabriel noticed Rollan looking at it, then spoke to him.
„Don't worry, it will get fixed soon," Commented Gabriel making Rollan nod. „You know, you're a quite good-looking young man. Aren't you interested to work for me for the modeling branch? Your face could catch a wider fanbase. Tan skinned is now in by the girls of today,"
„No thank you, I just want one girl," Commented Rollan making Gerda cackle, while Adrien grinned at the misunderstanding.
„I mean you will have many fans. Fangirls mostly. That's not as bad as it sounds,"
„At the moment I'm really not interested, Sir. Thank you for the offer," Responded Rollan, then Gabriel nodded and took out from his card a small visit card.
„I respect your choice, but if you ever change your mind, here's my number," Said Gabriel watching Rollan take the card. „Have a good day," Wished Gabriel closing the window before rolling away, then Rollan looked at Gerda a little bothered.
„I saw the damage on the window, it's him," Warned Rollan making Gerda nod.
„Don't worry. Nothing is going to happen to you again, I promise," Spoke Gerda grabbing Rollan by his hand, which smiled a little relieved, and Adrien, which had witnessed his dad speaking got wondering about his father's offer.
Inside the car of the Agreste Gabriel adjusted on the car computer his smartphone to call Nathalie, then waited for her to attend it.
„Nathalie, is there a way you can during the day figure out, where Gerda or Rollan live at the moment?"
„I know the girl lives in a youth home, which I will have to figure which one it is and the boy lives about ten minutes away from the Rossi clan,"
„Okay good. Figure out, where the girl lives exactly. I'm beginning to develop slowly a plan to get her and lure the superheroes into a trap,"
„Then it must be good reasoned. We're putting a lot in the game,"
„I'm aware of it, Nathalie. Don't you worry," Assured Gabriel with a smirk thinking about their future plan.
